Positive: Location Negative: bathroom to small, staff didnt fill in many details
We spent three nights here at the opening of phase 3. We chose this location because of the outdoor options, plenty of places to social distance. Their Blue Waters location is right next door and you have access to both facilities. It was perfect. The Riviera outdoor pool fills up (with smaller kids) but the Blue Waters pool still had availability. The pools werent operating at full capacity at the time. You also have access to two indoor pools which were nice. They werent too humid or over chlorinated like some indoor pools. The beach was nice especially after they raked away the seaweed. They provide lounge chairs and put up umbrellas upon request.Dining service was still limited to outdoor seating which was fine. There was plenty of space and room service was available. Riviera food services stopped at 5pm but Blue Waters was available until 9pm and would deliver to the front desk of Riviera. There was some miscommunication about the dining options and pool hours but its a crazy time with regulations changing so understandable. The menu was limited but had good options, something for everyone in our family of 5. Food and drinks really added up. Next time well bring our own drinks instead of paying $3-$4 for bottled water/ soda. What was frustrating was calling the 1-800 # before our stay. The questions customer service could not answer and their disinterest in my questions. More than one representative being sarcastic in responding to my questions (what dining options are available on site, what capacity were they allowed to book up to at the time). Customer service on site was much better.Great change of scenery and fresh air, much needed summer of 2020.
Been going to the Red Jacket resorts forever and recommended them to friends and social media friends. However, this last visit was not pleasant. We paid for an ocean view and it wasnt then going outside on the patio there was a used bandaid and wipe etc... When I called the manager he didnt seem to me fazed. With nothing being cleaned and sanitized with Covid is scary. So we left and went down the street where it was ocean front and clean for 60 dollars cheaper. When we saw that our money was taken out and put back in our account several times I contacref Michelle and told her our experience. So replied that its seems like a pattern that Im getting free rooms from them or discount. For the discounts she was referring is because we go through Groupon and a free room was when we went to one of their other resorts years ago and my young son found drugs in our room freezer so they gave us a room to come back and stay. To treat a loyal customer this was is aweful... I never ask for a free room all I wanted was the money they took out illegally of my account to be put back in.. Watch your bank accounts people and with Covid on the rise this resort might not be the best. I tried to. Upload pictures.
Great facilities, clean, comfortable and fun for all ages!
Beautiful property.. The pool and beach were gorgeous. Cocktails were generous. Staff very friendly. My only concern is our room could use a few upgrades. new appliances and a coffee maker would be nice but we werent staying in the fanciest room it was our first time there. We are definitely going back again but may upgrade next year.
Bed comfortable, sheets and pillows were very nice, Bathroom is small and outdated. Rooms were good size. Price was right for September, would not want to pay their summer prices.
Positive: Location! Negative: Rooms are very outdated and dirty.
Motel has been updated but rooms are very musty smelling. Probably has something to do with non operating bathroom exhaust vent. Bed were clean and comfortable. No maid services due to COVID. Called for extra linen and delivered quickly. Good access to beach.
Positive: location and private beech very nice. very clean sand. Negative: Overcharged for the room that we had. No breakfast included
Please read this review, Happy with how my issue was resolved.7/21/19The good:This resort offers a great location with lots of amenities, 2 pools inside and out along with a large hot tub. The private beach is great, no need to bring beach chairs, plenty on site. The Red Jacket Resorts also offer use of the amenities of the sister resorts, all located within a few minutes of each other.(I thought was a good feature)Breakfast at the resort was as expected, inexpensive and fast, great for vacationers who want to get going in the morning.Plenty of parking, we didnt have to park more than 50 feet from our second floor room, in the 200 block to the left of the office. Every room seems to have good access to everything, which is good. The bad:We(my girlfriend and I are in our late 40s)are usually open minded when it comes to hotel rooms. First of all, I originally called to get a reservation at one of the sister resorts, the person on the phone politely recommend the Rivera to me and said it was a nice place. I proceeded to do a lot of internet searching for photos and they looked good. So I went with it, BIG MISTAKE! The major downfall of this resort are the rooms:.Very damp and smelly, at least our room was. I paid $1200 for 4 days and 3 nights, so I expected a lot better quality. I dont have any issues with paying $400 a day for a room, but the price should reflect the quality. The bathroom is very small and out dated. No privacy in the bathroom for when someone wants to get changed. The AC unit is outdated as well and doesnt work that great.Do not expect to get a good nights sleep because of the climate situation in the room.I dont mean to hit on this again, but the room sucks, very hard to relax and sleep after a day at the beach when your room is damp and smelly. We will be washing everything we brought with us. Even the clothes we didnt wear are damp and smelly, its very appalling.Unfortunately people will still come here because of the great location and amenities. The rooms are nasty......you have been warned.UPDATE: 7/22/19The General manager called and expressed his apologies. We came to a solid agreement and based on his offer, I will be staying here again. It was very nice to hear from the General manager for the 2 Resorts. Very professional!
Today is my last day of a 3 day stay. The beautiful pictures of the outside are real, it’s very pretty. The rooms are barely average and for a resort, lacking. That being said I’m not uncomfortable here. The towels and pillow cases are VERY rough. The pillow case is a bit hard to sleep on. This could be from the water, I don’t know. I’ve seen other people say they paid 400. for a night, it’s definitely not worth that. I paid @130 and I think that’s ok because of the location. Would I stay here again? No, I don’t think so. It was not a horrible stay, I just expected more I guess. Even Days Inn have a microwave.
The resort was wonderful. Its private beach was beautiful. Due to COVID, daily room cleaning wasnt done, but we managed well. Sufficient clean towels were provided right from the beginning, which was really great.
Positive: Location, location, location!!! Right on the beach. We were there for 5 days. The kids has an amazing time.
Very friendly staff and maid services had a great view from our balcony wish we had more info on the restaurant on site ??
Great spot for family fun vacation even during the pandemic! Very accommodating for my 2 young children and I was worried about spaciousness of the rooms with all of our stuff but worked out great! A little pricier than I would have liked but with the kid friendly outdoor pool and the beach just steps away, it was still awesome!
Positive: Very clean, beautiful location, front desk stuff is very good and helpful! Negative: No
Great family place. Both pool and beach front resort. Pool is great especially if you have younger children. The depth of the pool gradually increases. It was perfect for my toddler and my 8 year old. Also beach has a bar with refreshing drinks!! Everyones happy
Positive: The facilities were amazing....beachfront, outdoor pool and indoor pool, perfect for families with children. Negative: No
Positive: Location, beach front, beach chairs and umbrellas, towels, breakfast included Negative: Many issues with the rooms had to move multiple times.
We recently spent 3 nights there. We paid for a ocean view room. We were issued room 144. This is a Pool view and a stand on my tip toes to see ocean over pool walls. I approached front desk. They said it was. Our first two nights we had the people upstairs slamming doors and running and screening well past 11. As far as covid restrictions, very little social distancing. We had not remove all our stuff on checkout, it was 10:25. We went into room, cleaning crew was already in the room, removed our stuff and really made us very uneasy with Covid. I went to front desk again, girl said sorry and stated 1030 is actually checkout..I am incredibly disappointed. We have been here twice before. Management is subpar.
The resort was beach front and our room was literally 5 steps away from the sand. The outdoor pool was great! It was heated and the resort provides towels for you. There was plenty of seating as many people came and went throughout the day. The pool itself was clean with no sand or leaves, you can tell someone did a great job maintaining it. The private beach was nice. There was more than enough seating and spread out for social distancing so each group of 4 chairs was more than 6 feet apart. You could still move chairs if needed to be close to the water, etc. For some reason there was a lot of seaweed and dead carcasses of horseshoe crabs and other sea life. Lots of shells for kids to collect but the other stuff was so excessive and kind of gross . Weve been to other locations along the east coast where this stuff gets cleared and the sand refreshed over night. It would be nice to see the city take more pride in their beaches. The property of the hotel was decent but there was a lot of overgrowth of the greenery around the pool and the side entrances to the beach. The room itself was fairly cleaned. I was always a freak even before Covid-19 and wiped surfaces down in every hotel. This just made me pay extra attention. I checked the mattresses for bugs and they were clean. The sheets were white and clean. I would have preferred to see a duvet cover rather than two sheets sandwiching the duvet because you know that doesnt get washed and the sheets move. There was some minor dust and the inside of the fridge had some stains but nothing serious. Overall the cleanliness passed. My only complaint is the smell of the carpet. Our room was on the first floor and directly accessible from the beach. All the wetness and sand tracks in. If you spent an hour in the room barefoot your feet were black after. Gross. I think changing the first floor flooring to non carpet with the next upgrades would significantly improve customer satisfaction. I kept the doors and windows open all day to air it out and the wet dog smell still woke me up at night. Masks are required indoors at the property but outdoors most people skipped them but still practiced social distancing. Employees all wore them. Big shout out to the employees for their friendly faces, everyone was very pleasant. All things considered the Riviera Beach Resort seems like a better option on this strip. Cape Cod definitely has some nicer areas but if you choose South Yarmouth, this is overall a nice place and we would consider it again.
Always a pleasure, this place never fails, even during a pandemic! Courteous staff, great food, great drinks, great service and super kid friendly. I even feel like there is less seaweed there! We stay here every year for a reason. The only downside is you have to book early!
Positive: Everything
We came and left the same day. Our room was beautiful! Queen bed with two Murphy beds and a private deck! We were thrilled! We checked in and quickly headed down to the beach. It was late afternoon and boy was it lovely! Plenty of chairs and umbrellas available. Upon returning to our room, we realized the air conditioner wasn’t functioning properly - upon further inspection, it was covered in mold and varying degrees of crud. I called the front desk twice on the in room phone without anyone answering. I finally got in touch with them when I called through my cell. They promised to send someone, but as we have a child with asthma we thought we’d better leave. We then realized the fur growing in the corners of the tub. We’d come with family members who had a room down the hall. Their room had an odd smell that we assumed was a COVID strong disinfectant. While we were dealing with our room, they’d learned that the previous night’s occupants above their room had been vomiting over the balcony and throwing their vomit covered towels into the bushes! They’d also contacted housekeeping about the smell and a spot on the rug. Although house keeping came very quickly, the solvent they sprayed had a clear label on it that it was a toilet cleaner and toxic to children and pets. They have a four year old that was in the room with them! The manager was good in reimbursing our room costs. The attendant at the desk was apologetic about the cleaning solvent, but all in all it was too much. In this time of pandemic we were hoping for a nice brief getaway within the confines of our state. We expected cleaning to be stepped up and unfortunately it was very lax. Such a shame because the grounds, pools and beach were very well landscaped and welcoming looking.
Positive: Beach area and location. Negative: Moldy smelling wooden furniture. Ocean view room could only see ocean standing on tip-toes over tall bushes/pool area. Broken screen door was never fixed after informing front desk the first of 5 days.
Positive: It was a perfect combination of relaxing location, great service and comfortable accommodation I brought 2 seniors, 2 kids and a teen and everyone had a blast. Negative: Nothing
Great location on the beach. Lounge chairs, towels and umbrellas for guests are plentiful. Nice pool for children.
Place is OK. Not worth the 400+ per night. No more free coffee and raised prices on everything. This place used to be decent. But as The years go on. Its not aging well. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere
Location right on the beach was perfect. Meals were a bit pricey and the rooms were adequate and clean.
Positive: The one thing we liked is it was located on a beautiful beach Negative: Very outdated and over priced!!! Our room was not clean and smelled like wet dog/dog urine. Not what I expected at all for the price I paid. Very disappointed!!!
Nice location with the private beach steps away. Pool was great for my 4 year old. Access to the other RJ resort amenities also a plus. Room was a standard hotel room, nothing fancy. Next time would probably spend a little more for an ocean view. Great time overall!
Went with my teenagers for a beach get away...was perfect!
Positive: This is a hoax, it gives you the hotel you initially google, then when you purchase your room, itâ€s at a completely different resort far away from where you were trying to get a room. Negative: The rooms were outdated and uncomfortable, just the beach is nice.
Positive: I liked that it was right on the beach and there were already chairs and umbrellas. I also liked that we could go to the other resorts and you could get food as well Negative: the rugs in the rooms just made the room smell musty. Maybe get rid of the carpet and use another type of flooring
Positive: The hotel is right on the beach. The beach was perfect! Negative: STAFF. We had to fix the broken toilet In our because they forgot to fix it after we called and the guy that delivered food told me they donâ€t deliver(all the paperwork say they deliver anywhere at the hotel)when leaving he said “ok lady, un
Dated rooms, not worth the price.Nice staff, and very good location.
I enjoyed my stay here but I wish the room had come with a bit more refreshments. The staff were excellent and were always available to handle any issues I had.
Positive: Location is perfect. Pool and beach were amazing. The beach staff who set up umbrellas on Sat. 06/28 were so pleasant and helpful as well as staff in the cafe. Negative: Room 101 was a little musty. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall and the curtains were not clean.need some attention in the bathroom as well.
Positive: It is right on the water with its own private beach. Negative: The rooms are that of a dated motel. Its old, so you will hear all of your neighbors and all of the kids running around upstairs. The place claims to be a resort, yet there is not even complimentary coffee in the morning. No complimentary breakfast.
Came here mid August, location is great, beach is remarkable, sand has no rocks,,boat bar has really good hamburgers, service very good.Bathroom are very small no exhaust fan, werid. Not really a resort. Restaurants not at all convient .Maybe because of COVID-19. Also have get to the beach early because loungers are taken quick.Just found out you have ask for room service because of COVID-19 on the last day of our stay.Really not worth the money. FRONT DESK IS NO HELP.
Awesomeness. Entire resort is well maintained. Very friendly environment. Beach area is amazing, with helpful and friendly staff. Food is delicious and restaurants are clean and inviting. My husband and I went to relax. Even though children were on the resort, they were never in our way due to the many activities the resort had planned for them. Nice areas set aside for adults only.
This place is a great place to stay I recommend the ocean front view its amazing
Pricey but nice. Beautiful beach by resort
Awesome location and amenities. Rooms are average
Great site and good facilities, friendly staff and helpful. Very close to the beach as well with access to the spa and pool were an added bonus. Close to great eats as well
Perfect for us. Indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, white sand beach, chairs and umbrellas, towels and a beach side bar. Downsides were theres only an indoor restaurant for breakfast, otherwise its strictly snack bar food. So, no real restaurant in other words. And the beach was not as wide and large as the beach at the Sea Crest, which we prefer. They do not have kayaks or floating rafts for rent- the ocean is a bit too deep to enjoy the rafts here anyway. They have a little kids club, free, enough to watch the kids so parents can have a break. Staff was very nice. Guests mostly nice but a few unclassy types like the guy who let his non-swimmer kids almost drown in the deep end and then yelled at the helpful bystander who pointed out the shallow part of the pool, thats made for toddlers. But theres one in every crowd. All good!!
Disgusting placeI couldn’t stand the smell in the room They told me if you leave you will be refundedBut they never refund me the money
Had a delivery of GE appliances there, they unloaded me fast, great place.
For the price, this place should have better events planned and chairs for people to sit in when they have their events. We took our 8 year old to the dance party they do for kids outside and my wife had to stand the whole time with our 3 year old. There should also be a closer bathroom to the beach for the events had in the blue water resort.
Excellent resort for familys. Everything we wanted to do. Cottage was fantastic. Comes with coffee filters and kitchen with enough to cook a breakfast. Shuffleboard, heated pool, beach great spot and staff.
Great family resort.
Great resort! Very convenient but could use more food options. Would definitely go back.
Me and my wife really enjoyed this resort. One of the best. Had everything you would want and need for a resort
Go early for lounge chairs and umbrella s
Would be br a great place in the summer. Very attractive place. Like the breakfast
Rooms are clean and comfy, but it is the beach so smell a bit “damp” when closed up all day. Just a few steps from a beautiful beach where hotel staff will set up umbrella and lounge chairs per request. Decent beachside bar. Wonderful staff. My family had a great, relaxing time.
Very peaceful. Rooms nice and clean. Only thing was they did have a microwave in our room.
Breakfast and buffet Food was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom floor and toilet needed work. Could hear people above us walking around in the morning.
Perfect destination for those with young children. There are two pools and the outdoor one is 3 or less in depth for more than half of the total area. This is great for small children who either cant swim or are learning. The pristine beach sits 10 off the backside of the pool so you can easily alternate between locations. They have a bar, chairs, towels and even sand box toys out on the beach so you dont need to lug stuff back and forth. The rooms are less than an minute from the pool so diaper changes, feedings, etc. are super convenient. Plenty of close by restaurants and attractions. Only issue is that the cell reception and wireless in the area are a bit spotty (that includes Yarmouth) so factor that in.
Great staff helpful friendly great property beach was great loved bar at beach left my glasses in room they mailed them to my house will definitely be back
Perfect location. Room and building start to be old. Service is excellent. Beach is beautiful, almost no waves, best for swimming.
I love if here. Great place to come with daughters and grandkids. So close to the beach. Room 137 was nice. Not damp or smelly as one guest said. Beach side bar is a tad expensive, but delicious. Went to other resort for food and swimming. Staff is always kind and helpful. Linda cleaned my room to perfection. She was also very kind and easy to talk too. We are regulars and my grandsons we quite disappointed that there was no longer a breakfast buffet. The coffee was ok. I think I liked it better last year. Wondering if you changed brands? Also, why is it so painful to walk on the path? All guest walk on the grass because the sidewalk is killer! Everyone wants to be in bare feet but cant walk on the sidewalk. Seems odd. Pool needs to be skimmed at some point throughout the day. Seems the guy is a there early AM and doesnt come back. It gets pretty dirty with floating things. This is about the outdoor pool. These are just trivial things, I cant wait until next year...maybe these things could be looked into for improvements. Thank you and see you next year!
Activities from the hotel is nice, plenty things to keep the kids busy. Great pools. Nicest staffs. Plenty of towels, chairs and beach umbrellas. Beach is a B+, nice soft sand, but water is full of seaweeds. The room needs serious updates, beds are saggy and giving a back pain. Carpet smells like humidity. AC unit is super old and couldnt keep up with the heat. Not all lightbulbs work. Thank god that we dont need to stay in the room a lot.Plenty of nice restaurants within 10 minutes drive.
The hotel is right on the beach which is great!! The rooms are dated and we had some ants in our bathroom!!! Not worth the price
With so many pools to choose from, good beach plus service (sun umbrella, towel, lounge chair and on- the-sand bar) its pretty good value.
Great Service, very decent resort. Fantastic private beach. They have a bar on the beach; beach chairs and umbrellas are provided. They have decent breakfast and great House fries. I would recommend this resort for nice and quiet weekend getaways.
Cant bear the location.
Good prices for what you are getting clean rooms perfect ocean view even from the pool view room. Would definitely recommend will be coming back again next year. Staff is also very friendly.
Theres plenty to choose from water wise from the beach all the way to the indoor and outdoor pools along with a hot tub. You can walk straight from your room to the beach no problem with or without shoes since no glass is allowed on the beach. Overall its a great place to get out and relax while your kids do their own thing at the outdoor pool.
Stayed 1 night Sept 29th. Hotel is directly on the ocean and the water was still warm enough to go in swimming. Indoor and outdoor pools were available also. Very spacious room with a refrigerator. Continental breakfast was actually a full breakfast - eggs, sausage, potatoes, french toast sticks. We were very pleased with the hotel. As this is a Red Jacket facility, guests are allowed to use the pools, beach, etc at the other Red Jacket properties (5 in total).
Friendly staff / clean Awesome location/ getting to use other resort activities was a plus// differently. Will come back
Location is great, indoor and outdoor pool areas are nice, plenty of towels for guests to use. The beach area is great, plenty of chairs to use, sand is clean, and there is a small area where you can find beach toys for kids to use. The breakfast buffet was ok, but there was a variety of options. The free coffee in the lobby every morning was great. The room itself needed some updating. The beds were small double size beds but one of them severely sagged up by the headboard. The shower was nice but the bathroom door was impossible to fully close. The walls looked like they needed a fresh coat of paint and the glass and screen doors to the slider were loud and hard to use.
Clean rooms, nice pool and close to the beach with complementary beach tags and chairs.
Nice family place, everything you need is here right on the beach
The rooms were adequate but nothing really special. The real shining stars though are the outdoor pool and private beach. Chairs and umbrellas were provided for the beach, all we had to bring was the blanket and sand toys for the kids. There was even great live music and a snack bar right at the beach. I wish the rooms had been a bit more updated but otherwise the place was a great experience for a family vacation.
My family and I went during the off season, so the beach was empty, and not many people were in the hotels. It was nice. Upon entering the room, it smelt very musty and it felt like the room hadn’t been used in some time. We had to open windows to air it out. The view however was beautiful. The breakfast at the resort apparently closes early when it’s supposed to be open 7:30-11, so we had to walk over to a local resort and eat there.. not a far walk and the food was good. The room was a little outdated, but had everything we needed. We utitlized the indoor pool and hot tub since it was a tad chilly.
Very clean well organized food was great
Lots of great activities for kids, and beach yoga was incredible!!! Some issues with the front desk being uninformed and not having good customer service.
A bit old, but very good place, next to the beach, and friendly staff
Expensive run down motel with a private beach area. Room looks like it hasnt been updated in decades. Complimentary coffee ends at noon. Staff never queried our order on the the beach like they did others. The location and the beach its self is nice, but the level of service is laughable at these prices. Modernizing and cleaning the facilities would go a long way towards improving my opinion.
Great hotel. Nice breakfast. Super friendly staff. Easy access to the beach. Will be back.
Great for the kids. Nice pool and beach front, and you can use the Blue Water also. Rooms are nothing special, but we spent little time in them. Service is very good. They even help with beach chairs and umbrellas (of which there are plenty). Lunch at the beach-side bar at the Blue Water is easy and delicious. They also offer a kids club, which can give parents a break if they want.
Beautiful place with a beautiful beach and great staff.
Awesome place, nice rooms and awesome, pool for, kids
I have been to the resort several times as a guest and then as a local resident to their outdoor facilities. Outstanding customer services underline the quality found throughout the facility. They also serve some of the best lobster sandwiches found on the Cape. Add in multiple poolside/oceanside bars and theres a recipe for an enjoyable weekend!
Beautiful cape cod resort on the ocean, fully staffed with seaside beach bar, lounge chairs and umbrellas on the private hotel beach, indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi. Great for families and beach lovers alike.
Very nice, clean and plenty to do.
Clean friendly attentive
Beach is awesome, but very overpriced hotel. For the price, they could keep the indoor pool area clean. And the extra charge for parking was nonsense.
Such an an amazing place on a beautiful location. We had the ocean front room on the first floor and it was just amazing to be able to walk right out to the beach. The pool area is beautiful and well kept, as are the entire grounds.
Nice clean place on the ocean...
They do an amazing job every year that we come here. Its a great spot for kids. They really cater to a family atmosphere
Conveniently located, friendly staff, nice size rooms. Only complaint is I requested a king bed when I booked and we got placed in a room with 2 double beds
Rooms were comfortable. Beach is fabulous and the pools are fabtastic. Staff very helpful and will definitely come back!
