Ive been coming to South Gate Park simce my first grandson was 7-8 months old now hes 14 yrs old and every time we come with my other 5 granchildren weve so much fun

I love the spacious park and their vast parking lots. We walk our dog on chilly evenings, keeping 6ft distance from everyone and wearing our face mask.

This park is my go to for my early morning walks. I enjoy the lush trees and the marked trails. Everyone is very much respectful of distancing and it makes for a great experience. In terms of the parks upkeep. The park maintenance personnel are always there making sure the park is clean. That includes the restrooms that get power washed.

Was easy Access to Covid19 Testing site, just a few minutes in and out. Done !

Worst experience of my life taking my covid test. Worst experience for my kids.

This park has deteriorated over the years, there is too much people to run safely. The ground crews leave puddles of water around the grass that gets your feet wet. If you want to smell weed while exercising please come here, if not, any other park would be suffice.

Been coming here as long as I can remember (40+ years) Its a big park with lots of room to play all sports.

Very peaceful on this sunny summer day, we walked the little trail. People walking and enjoying despite park closed signs posted.And saw this beautiful butterfly!

This is a great recreational site where you can enjoy a nice workout or a peaceful stroll with family and friends, personally I enjoy that this park is very well taken care for!

I love this park, some of the street are not so good but I like walking specially when they dont allow walking dogs, people sometime take off the leage and is dangerous ..

I love this park!!! It’s way better than any other park near where I live. It’s clean around the park but I’m not sure about the restrooms because I have never used them. Over all this park is my fav!

Probably one of the best parks out there. Its big and its all one piece, theres others that are either small or large but cut into sections with streets cutting into them. Love this place

Spacious park its just kinda dirty. In desperate need of remodeling and sprucing up

This park is pretty huge and offers a lot. Golf, batting cages, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, baseball field, soccer spaces, rose garden, fire pit. Long walking trail around the park. Lots of tables and seating. Large play area. There are some homeless in the area but the park is so huge and people stay to themselves. Lots of restrooms but bring soap or purell as there is none.

Plenty of shade and space make this park one of the most active parks in the area. There are soccer fields, a golf course, basketball courts, places to run and do exercise. This is one of the few parks that remain active during the covid 19 pandemic.

Sufficient play area equipped for all ages from toddlers to youth, adaquate shade as its surrounded by beautiful greenery and huge trees, I didnt see any homeless transients mostly crowded with families and ppl working out. The only possible setback I would say is parking since it was closed off due to COVID-19 Im assuming. My kids loved it, so overall 5 stars. I recommend it mostly because its family oriented if your looking to sit back relax and enjoy watching your little ones play then come here but if your looking for a zen garden Oasis this is not the place.

Very clean park, the employees do a phenomenal job of maintaining it. So if you come to visit theres so much going on tennis court, horse shoes, basketball, golf course, running trails, and so much more hust remember to clean up after your selfs.

Its environment is family oriented and authority is people friendly

South gate Park is full of activity. They have sport center( basketball. Tennis. Gim. Dance lesson .pool....) They have classes every 2 month you have to sign in . their fees are very affordable.They have a Soccer Center with 6 mini Soccer playground very nice, with snak bar for food and drink.Also they have big playground for kids and 3 outside basketball court .Poeple come and exercise run around the park Or have a picnic they have pre set table...I recommend this park for kids youth family...

Love this park, it’s great for running, walking and it has 2 big playgrounds for the kids. They have so much to offer with the South Gate sports center as well. The play areas and the park are pretty clean the restrooms could use a bit more cleaning but other than that everything else is great.

Amazing park. Grew up coming here myself. Running One lap around the park is 1.5 miles. The swimming pool is amazing. Great staff, clean water, nice people. Very family oriented park, with a minor issue of homeless, gamblers that come and play cards on some benches. They stick to themselves though. Never heard of any issues with them. Theres squirrels everywhere you turn and the trees are beautiful. Its almost like a small forest here in the center of South gate. Very peaceful. ️

This park is far from my house but its worth the drive. They have handball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and more. They have two separate playgrounds for under 5 yr olds and the other playground for older kids. They also have a lil center where the kids could play with a wall that lights up to play something similar to Simon.

Good park. The only down side is that there is no dogs allowed, but you can still walk them along the perimeter of the park. Other then that all my times there have been good

Been coming to this park for years! Absolutely love it! It occupies an entire block . Has a golf course, public pool, batting cages, tennis courts, basketball courts, kids playground, party halls, and more! Plenty of parking, great for a nice evening walk or morning run, or just a relaxing shady day out with the family for a picnic. My kids love it here! I do too.

Sunday morning, I purchase a couple of bags of un-salted roasted peanuts from the dollar store and bring my daughter to feed the Chipmunks, lots of them very fun to watch.Love this park, very quiet in the mornings, most importantly it is very well kept, restrooms are clean (but not the cleanest), kids have lots of fun here, its also dog friendly, (please dont forget to bring your poop baggies when you visit).

Bathrooms are open which is a plus for me because Im pregnant during covid and a lot of places wont let you use the restroom

Ive come here a handful of times. Im surprised Im barely writing a review! Anyways, coming here is great. I never regret it. Theres lots of activities. Theres a baseball/Softball field to play. Ive also seen 2 playgrounds for children. Very nice Senior Center. Very nice views. Lots of trees can give you a shadow to be under for any hot day. I also think I saw a golf course! Great park. Come here whenever you have the chance!

Thisnoark is usually packed on the weekends, not this time. Nice big park, with volleyball courts, walking track and decently clean

I come to this park often because its close to home. My grip is with the playground off of Southern Ave & Hildreth Ave.This playground has several broken slides and youll often see several potholes in the playground. If you come in the afternoon, youll see the place littered with trash and ice-cream wrappers.The best time to visit is in the morning after the park staff has cleaned it.This playground has no shade or nearby trees to cast a shadow. If you make it anywhere from 9:00-9:30 a.m. youll have warm sun but wont feel the overwhelming heat.Also heres a big tip: use the restroom at home. Restrooms next to the playground are always lacking toilet paper and soap. If you really must go, try the restrooms inside the sports center. Those are 8/10.Overall the rest of the park is very pretty and well kept. I know there is a newer playground set on Hildreth Ave & Missouri Ave. Its pretty, but since its designed for ages 5+, my little kid cant really use it.

Parknis huge, great shade, enough benches and pic nic tables. One thing i hate and bothers me are all those men hanging out on the side of the curb while women and children are passing by its very uncomfortable.

Been there one time to meet up with someone that was selling merchandise on offer up. Very clean park, at that time they were having the farmers market. Picked up some produce and stay there for lunch, had a good time.

Everything is way too big. Gets boring after a while. Some of the stuff is impossible. Just overall a bad skate park. Although its good that its big, a beginner like me cant do much

Its a big park, and its clean

South Gate Park is big and spacious. There is a recreational center that can host events and parties. There is a lot of parking space inside and around the park. There are baseball, softball, football and soccer fields. There is also a golf area. There is a track to walk or jog. There area picnic tables, benches and a canopy to host barbecues and outdoor activities. The only thing I wish this park had is nice scenic views. But it still is a nice place to hang out.

Active and happy!The park has enough playgrounds for different tastes. It has a sport center, a swimming pool, elderly go there to play that horseshoe game thingy. Basketball Courts, handball Wall. Running trail. Etc. Etc. Very complete park!

It was peaceful shade parking was ruff but the park served its purpose I wanted to blast my oldies but goodies music and wax my car. The park was a perfect place. It allow me to have peace

This is a great community center. Great for kids and adults. They also offer swimming classes and have a GOALS (SOCCER CENTER) for the kids. It might not be the cleanest but there is plenty space.

The smaller playground over on the Tweedy side looks a lot better than the one over by Southern. 3 of 4 slides are broken and closed off. Its always dirty. The wall game there hasnt worked for almost a year. Meanwhile, these people they hire to clean, are far away from the playgrounds. Dont worry about the parking lots, go clean the playgrounds. Hopefully these things get fixed.

This place is great has a lot of facilities like GOALS soccer center, Sports Center, has about 9 baseball diamonds and two playgrounds for children. Reason why I’m giving it 3 stars is that it’s always dirty and thrash everywhere. I just really wish people would take care of this place when they come visit because I think it has a lot of potential to be very nice and 5 star worthy.

I took my daughter to play this morning and she couldnt even play. The slide with the cone has been like thay for over 6 months now maybe longer and now they took off a part, im not expecting them to fix it any time soon. South Gate park has really gone down hill.
