I purposely chose a home near the entrance to the park to be able to run on the trail. Sunset and sunrise are beautiful and as it turns green in the spring it is truly a wonder. Watch out for some illegal changes to the trail where people are adding beach sand in patches that would trip you as a runner in low light, and for barriers being built for mountain bikers that make it unpassable on foot. A great part of Sioux falls.
The bike trail is partially shaded and there are facilities. Sioux Falls Historical Society celebrates both the geologic history and human history behind the structures and parks, which makes me proud to live in a location that honors the past in settings that also honor and beautify the present.
Nice park but NO SOCIAL DISTANCING, let alone ANYONE wearing masks, WOW!
Fantastic day with the family and all the kids in this sport complex! Great venue!
Nice place with good trails to either walk or bike along.
Beautiful city park with walking/biking trails for everyone.
Grew up playing soccer on the fields and use the bike trail berry often it’s an amazing park to see many things take place through the year. Such as jazz fest and a lot of other sporting activities
Awesome! Had a great walk with a friend and my dog. Water would be very good though
This place has parking near almost every field. So if you forget your chair you can sit in the car or tailgate it
It is a nice park with several soccer fields. The bike path runs the length of the park. There is even a short MTB loop. I only give it three stars because it is flat and boring.
Several times a year we host the Nike Regional cross country championships in Yankton trail park. Its the perfect venue for a cross country event. Thousands of competitors and spectators. while we are there we wire the entire part for sound so everybody can see and hear whats happening throughout the event all day long.
Good place to play soccer and very well done
Dissapointing field condition. Otherwise alwsys a great facility.
Well kept. Clean
Lots of parking and fields are very nice.
Great place to play soccer!
Soccer games always fun to see
Great, had soccer tournament, the fields are nice.
I played there and it was great
Clean facilities and great fields
A very flat cross country course
I love coming out to Yankton Trail Park they have a lot of activities you can do like Jazz Festival and Girls on the run 5k! Soccer teams are often out there and having fun on the fields!
One of the better parks along the river. Bike trails, including a couple of fast BMX or trail bike path along the river. Or stay on the paved trail. This park, and the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society, hosts Sioux Falls own free multi-band concert, JazzFest (posted a few photos from a Friday performance, July 14th, 2017). Soccer games and tournaments are common events there in the spring, summer and fall, as well.
What beautiful soccer fields. The park and trails arent to shabby either.
We are here for the Sioux falls jazz fest, what I really fantastic venue! Fantastic food trucks and music, along with fun activities it is a great time for the whole family!
There are lots of trails for hikingg and biking both paved and off the beaten path. It is clean and inviting. A nice place to connect with nature and clear your head.
Beautiful Park, well taken care of. Great staff really relaxing. Wildlife all over the park, deer and turkeys all over. I recommend this park year round! We have been camping in our 5th wheel since 2003. We still consider this campground the best of any we have camped in anywhere. You need a National Park ticket to get in. The cabins we stayed at are very inexpensive. Around the cabins, they have a upright grill as well as a fire pit. They do not have bathrooms, however, the bathrooms are near by. There is a swimming area and alot of trails to hike. There is a fish hatchery nearby that does not cost anything to get in.
I was visiting a friend who lives on Bachelor Lane which is adjacent to the park. Its a beautiful private drive and the park to the North with the green graas, trees and the BigvSioux River is a wonderful view.
Its a very nice place to walk or run lot of soccer fields they use the fields four different events conveniently located off 229 between Minnesota and Western Sioux Falls South Dakota right next to the Big Sioux River where you will see people kayaking that is very fun to
Very cool place. The river that runs past the park is great, with the bike path next to it. Given the floods as of lately I have to give the grounds crews a pat on the back to get everything ready for a soccer tournament.
Great place to take a walk with the family and to play soccer. The Jazz Fest is a fun event to take the whole family.
Nike is here. I wonder if the course is short, though?!
Difficult to get into when busy
Had a great cross country race here
Great place to start on the trails
I LOVE this seemingly boring soccer complex. It has nearby access to the river. They main thing I like about this park is the Jazz-Fest. Its a FREE outdoor concert that has TWO stages simultaneously during a three or four night long mostly rock and roll party.I went a few years ago to see Joe Walsh...it was an amazing show. Many other well known musicians have a show during the Jazz-Fest. It always end with a grand fireworks display. They serve beer, its a bit pricey, but that and the vendors are what pays the bill for the concert. So be sure to have a beer and some food so we can have it again next year.Besides the concert, this is the largest soccer complex around, maybe anywhere, I dont know, it seems that a hundred games can play at the same time, its that large. The city of Sioux Falls does a wonderful job of keeping it well manicured and clean. Ive never seen it messy, even after an event, its cleaned up so fast you cant get a photo of it trashed. There is a jogging trail going along one side of the park, next to the river that is blacktopped that goes through the park, it continues all around the city for many miles, and it also is well cared for.It is a great place to have very large events, I believe it is one mile wide. It is bordered by the river on one side, and the interstate on the other side. It is well lit with modern restrooms lots of parking and different areas, plenty of trash receptacles. The roads are all paved and in great condition. The riverside of the park has a nice thick layer of trees that protect the park from the South Dakota winds. If you are seeking a place to hold a concert or very large gathering, consider this place.
This park is very well-kept despite our rough Spring with all the flooding. The grass was in beautiful condition for jazz fest this year and we noticed very few bugs.
A good place to take the kids for a day of outside time
If you are walking the bike trail for scenery and photography, there is NO better place to go!
Need to find a better way to identify the soccer fields. Large markers would help tremendously.
Great for walking, running, biking, kayaking and canoeing. Some benches. Great to explore old railway bridges that have been restored for pedestrians and bikes. Although parking is not accessible during wintet, can still use parks. Are restaurants in area. Jazz and blues festival in August. Youth soccer games and a tournament.
Big open green space with several soccer fields. Area does have two mens and womens bathroom.
Yankton trail park was very pretty and very accessible from all entries into the park
Just love a place where families can come together and enjoy life.
Beautiful nature
Lots of space to 0lay sports with kinds and drive around, lots of bikers and has a lot of cool stuff like grass and trees, that have a neat thing called a parking lot, Ive never seen anything like it before, buttits a pretty cool invention cudos to whoever figured out how to build it I love it so much space to leave your car
Always something going on with fun activities and events.
Great place for soccer. Well maintained
Great park nice shaded places and wonderful bicycle tracks, seamply awesome!!!!#!!!#.
We were here for a soccer tournament and, if you know anything about these types of events, parking and ingress/egress is usually the biggest headache on game days. However, being just off I-229 this place had excellent ingress/egress options and plentiful parking. The grass was good quality and the paved walking paths kept our feet dry while walking around to watch other games.
Bathrooms were pretty spread out, I was sad to see it under water from the flooding.
Lovely trail snaking alongside the Big Sioux River.
Its good walking path by the stream, and able to do so much more with how big it is.
Very nice place awesome actually
Very nice complex, clean restrooms!
Very nice Soccer Complex easy to navigate. Easier to get around than the MN Blaine National Sports Center Soccer Complex.
Always clean and organized. Well kept park and soccer fields.
This is an excellent well kept park. The City of Sioux Falls should be commended on how it keeps up this park and all of the City Parks!!
My Nephew, Rhaecine Sam placed 3rd! He got a marvelous TIME at the State Meet in Sioux Falls TODAY.
If you come on the right 2 nights of the year you will see tons of people and hear some awesome music!
Whats not to love about Yankton Trails? One of the largest parks that Sioux Falls has to offer, Yankton Trails includes many professional and junior-sized soccer fields, connects with the bike trails, and is host to several events throughout the year. If youre looking for activities other than walking, biking, or watching soccer, though, there are better parks to choose from in the SF area.
Fun park
Great place for picnics or walking trails
One of the best trails that is close. Lot of new improvements every year.
For 363 days a year this is a soccer park, but during Jazzfest this place comes alive! Its a great venue and a great music festival!
Ok needs more parking for big events like jazz fest dont know how?
Beautiful areas on the road and trails in the woods by river for walking, jogging, biking and family cookout and photo taking. A lot of cool events happen here including the Jazz Fest.
What can I say, great parks for biking, walking your dog and soccer. (Dog park just a quick walk down the trail).
This park is known for their many soccer fields. It is also a beautiful park that is great for running and biking. Sorry no playground equipment for kids.
Bathroom was kind of dirty.
Yankton is a great little town the river and lake is fun.
This is actually a great park. It is peaceful when there are no events. It has great parking when there are events. It is also a great place to catch pokemon.
The park is very large and clean. A lot of room to run, walk etc.
Very nice paved bike/jogging trails.
Great for bike traila
Bomb cylone. The park is now a river.
So fun to play soccer here.
The park itself is great, but my family loves the biking better. Our favorite section of the biking trail is from Yankton to the falls.
Nice multiple use park. Well maintained and very enjoyable for different outside activities.
Sioux Falls has done a great job with their whole Yankton trail park around the entire city.
Decent fields although some arent very flat
Go every year Jazz Fest.
Great place for a soccer tournament. Very well laid out!
Excellent place where many a festival is held. Good place to take a walk or run as well.
Good place for soccer.
Fun time at the Nike X meet!
A nice clean park. Great jazz festival!
Very good and well managed! So clutter free
Great place to walk my dog. Clean and safe
Love having jazzfest there every year
Large park with sprawling greens, soccer fields. Host to Jazz Fest, The Peach Festival, and other events throughout the year.
Daughter enjoyed Twilight Run a great event, but lost a brown Birkenstock if anyone has found please take to park offices! Greatful in advance!
My niece plays soccer here
Nice park for bike trails excess and playing soccer.
