Best possible experience. I am finally proud of our movie theater. The social distancing is amazing. They are finally cracking down on IDing people for rated R movies.

Awesome CLEAN theatre. First time there since the update. Only complaint is the endless commercials not counting previews. Movie I saw had a start time of 1:45 and movie didnt start till 2:15. Other then that, highly recommend.

Did a private showing (20 or less). Great time! Theater was clean!

With Iowa’s strict gaming laws, what are young people supposed to do in Sioux City ?? If moving away isn’t a option, try watching a movie at AMC 12 and forget for two hours that you live in Sewer City. Nice theater in a rundown and outdated mall. $6.50 seems high for a ICEE. Hard to sneak those in. At least the seats were comfortable, like watching tv at home. I watched the movie just in my underwear, like at home, it’s dark, who is going to know ???

EDIT: Well, it was bought out and is in the process of renovating. They now have leather power recliner seats with ample legroom. The torn curtains are gone, and improvements have been made throughout. Bathrooms still need some attention, and our theatre had a tear in the screen but its on the come up now. Theyre making strides towards a great theatre.ORIGINAL: This place is in DESPERATE need of a renovation. The curtains hanging from the side walls of multiple theatres are torn and frayed and very dirty. The theatre seats are all in poor condition, with many seats completely broken and unusable. Lights are burnt out, the bathrooms arent well maintained, the service is reflective of the poor effort of this place.I used to come here for movies all the time as a kid, but now the promenade is the go to movie theatre in Sioux City. Hopefully this place can turn it around.

Best theater in Sioux City! Reserved seating and heated, reclining seats. Always clean and the staff is always hospitable. Food selection is decent and the bar is a definite plus

Just sat in the coldest theater! Asked three people for heat in #7. All apologized but no charges. No offer to move us. No compensation offered. That is ridiculous!! Bad Boys was a good show. Not worth getting sick for tho. Not good.

A lot of new things to make your movie watching a better experience. New heated seats are nice and comfortable. The bar is a nice addition as well.

The new theatre seating is great. However the lobby and bathrooms were disgusting!! It was only the 2nd movie of the day and the women’s bathroom was disgusting. The majority of the stalls had none or just a little toilet paper, dirty floor and counter top. Paper towel rolls sitting on the counters not in dispensers. I find this unacceptable for only the 2nd movie of the day. I was very disappointed as I assumed the entire theatre was renovated. The bathrooms haven’t changed in 20 years...just gross!

Book your tickets ahead of time, esspecially on Saturday Nights! Maybe bring a student discount for popcorn. Extremely comfortable theater, bring blankets and pillows and enjoy the movie! Great theater experience, will be going back.

Still needs to be a little better kept in the lobby and fountain areas. Otherwise, great! Love the new seats. However, I hate that you have to pick a seat ahead of time, and if you do it online it costs extra.

This theater has recliner seats. The back row is for handicapped seating. GREAT

Bathrooms are always dirty. Soda and butter thing was super gross and sticky. The screening was clean and the seat are nice.

Comfortable seats. Price was good.Glad that the 20 minutes without a picture was during the ads & previews (though Id have liked to see the previews...)The ticketing process seems incredibly slow. Not sure if this happens at every theater with reserved seating. Hope not.

Great seats and movie theater. The sound effects were amazing. The only downside was that it was uncomfortably cold and I dont think the heaters on the seats worked.

The renovations and additional concession items really made a difference!! The new reclining seats also have a button for heat! Amazingly comfortable! My kids had a blast!!

Ive been coming to this theater for years, but this was my first time going since they renovated it. Looovvveed the reclining heated seats, awesome. The concessions are so much better as well, and of course its great to be able to get a drink with your movie. Clean and cozy theater experience.

Seats are amazing! Reclining, heated, and for the cuddlers, the middle arm raises and 2 seats become a love seat!

Every time my husband and I go watch movies we are greeted with such kindness, if they don’t have an answer they figure it out effectively. The most recent encounter was with Christopher. Very nice guy!

Much improved from the predecessor. The seats are nice, loveseat style with rising divider and recline with ease. Heated for added comfort. Prices seem to keep going up, would love to see a family or better priced movie pass option that mimics their best feature of a flat rate monthly movie pass for adults allowing a much more reasonable rate to catch several movies within a month at minimal per movie price if able to use all eligible viewings.

What a wonderful and enjoyable experience we had in the theater. The seating was outstanding and comfortable. I will being making more trips to the movies and advising my friends the same! Again thank you for the great experience!!!!

2pm, wipe out the cupholders, otherwise pricing is great as well the staff are accomodating.

The remodel is great. Nice seats and clean. Better than the other place in town and better options for parking. The service was only ok at the concession stand. One person working the concessions with a few others just standing around even though there was a line. Maybe it was because it was middle of the week.

The renovations are underwhelming. The Coke Freestyle area was dirty (i.e. sticky floor, overflowing garbage). The theater wasnt any better. I went at a 10:30 PM showing, so I wonder if I wouldve had a similar experience at a day showing. Ill stick with the Promenade!

What renovation? When you go to the movies... the sound and picture should be your #1 priority. I went to see Bumblebee last Friday and found the picture quality to be horrible. You can tell the projector was dirty and the curtains were not set to the actual dimension the film was shot. Furthermore, whoever was running the project was probably looking forward to leaving home early hence why he flipped the theater lights on before the film was ending. Not cool! And to top if off, I spent $20 on two cokes and candy... later I found out there was a Combo deal the employee didnt advise us on. Either their ill informed or taking advantage of customers. Will I ever return to this AMC? Definitely not!

Great upgrades. Go earlier in morning for better prices.

Every single time there is an issue with their computers or debit card device. Get it together! AND I was not asked if I was a Rewards member so I didnt get any points for this visit.

AMC has the best seats! The seats have heat if you want to warm up...and they recline! Also, they have great concessions and a bar for those of age!

Just about everything about this place is great. The customer service is top notch; they inform you of membership option but do not pressure you into signing up, they also make sure the customer is aware of whatever perks or additions that any food order comes with. Their no.1 order of large popcorn and large drink comes with free refill of both (i think they are able to do so because the buckets are so big that it is unlikely that they come back for more). The common area looks nice and clean with great prominent displays of upcoming movies. The theater seats are amazing and are electric lounging chairs with heated seat option(which I turned on by accident a few times throughout the experience). The audio, visual, and just overall experience of the movie is definitely enhanced by the atmosphere of the facility. The only reason it gets a 4* is because of the toilet seat in the restroom was not quite clean and I had to clean it before I used it. I know they can not help how clean someone else leaves the seat after they use it but they could at least provide some kind of actual antibacterial cleanser to be used instead of the handsoap and paper towels at the sink.

I bought tickets online and was not aware that the $5 ticket Tuesday only applies to rewards members now as it didn’t in the past. The purchase portal said the $5 discount would be applied in the summary so I expected the $5 tickets. My friend purchased a drink in the mall as she expected to be able to bring it in as other people were visibly consuming ‘Chick-fil-A’ in the lobby. But we were told it was not allowed. The seats and screens are nice but overall the experience is unnecessarily expensive.

First negative is it is at the mall. Hate driving to the east side for everything. Love the recliners and heat options. Cleaner than it was a few years ago and the chairs were the only reason I came back at all.

I did my original review, about 3 weeks ago. I gave it 5 stars; the new seating is great! Compared to the old, this new seating is outstanding. Im changing my review today, based on my experience last night. The seats still rock. I was very dissatisfied with the mens bathroom. It smelled like a bar bathroom, not pleased. Reaked of urine.

I love the new atmosphere, love that u can pick ur own pop, and put yr own butter on the popcorn. I love the soft recliner seats with seat warmers 5o keep u toasty. Lots better then the old uncomfortable seats they used to have and all ways being cold when watching ur movie.

The old staff clearly hate their jobs and it shows...guy told me f this place he will be a jailer soon...not joking

We were very disappointed when we tried the AMC at The Southern Hills Mall! They have raised the prices to everything. The theaters are filthy, the floors are sticky, it was hot in there as well. We had thought we would give it a try again but it has gotten worse. Also for the reward program I was informed it will expire in November and it will cost $15.00 to renew. Let me just say I will not be renewing it. It was suppose to be a reward for the customers when they visit your movie theater. It was the first movie of the day and I seen only 10 other people at the theaters. When before the were lines of people waiting for tickets. Too bad! It used to be a nice theater and the people working there had been there for a long time. If you think raising the prices will help make up for missing customers you are very wrong!!

This place is great the reclining seats definitely add to the experience, and they are heated as well if you want.

The lobby here is nice, but there are a lot of teens who are on their phones constantly or taking others seats in the theaters.

Need to get more family and conservatives movies. Especially during holidays. Disappointed that Pilgrims progress film was not pick up by any siouxland theater. I would have love to enjoy this film with the theaters nice heated chairs.

My wife and I had a great time. The seating is exceptional. Heated and reclining seats. People were great and courteous. Only theater we go to in town.

We watched a movie for my daughters friends for her birthday . I love the seats, and you pick where you want to seat .

Now that AMC owns and have updated, fantastic. It would be nice to have a kiosk to self get tickets that were ordered online. Also to pre order drinks and snacks would be nice improvements.

Went to Captain Marvel, great movie, the renovation is very nice, theater is in great condition now, however, it gets ruined by adds; movie was scheduled to start at 7:15, but commercials ran until 7:39, previews were shown from 7:39 to 7:43. Thats a 28 minute late start, might as well call that half an hour late, not doing that again...AMC owes me 30 minutes

Alot better than it used to be. New seating is great. Only negative is the last couple movies Ive been to start late. Anywhere from 5-15 minutes.

Renovations to the theater are very nice. Anyone who hasnt been there since they renovated the place should come back and see it. Much better than what previously was. Good job AMC.

Now thats its AMC the theater has greatly improved. Especially with awesome seats and the Alist membership you can buy for about $20.00 a month and you get to see 3 movies a week or 12 in a month its pretty cool!!! Would definitely recommend this theater to everyone :)

2 med drinks + 2 sm popcorns, charged me $30. That didnt include $19.89 for 2 tickets. That is about $50 to take my grandson to the movies. Hard for me. Being an AMC MEMBER sure didnt help me. No wonder there was only 4 people in the theater to see the show, even on a Friday nite. Do SAD

Love there updated theater that have reserve seating and automatic recliners. Its a great atmosphere and they have a great staff.

Old, dirty, needs extensive remodeling, oh, and they put me in a theater that they new had no A/C! Some associates and the GM are extremely rude. Very expensive for quality of comfort you get. Do NOT recommend.

AMC Alist is such a great value.

Good customer service but the entire theater needs major updates. It smells very old and stale, the carpets are stained in the halls and theater room #8 we were in, a majority of the seats are torn and falling apart and there are some holes and tears on the screen. I didnt even want to check out the bathrooms or get anything from the concessions because of how gross it is in the theater. I understand that customers can be cause of some of this but the theater needs to do a better job keeping up with cleaning and replacing seats that are falling apart. It looks like a place where people go to get bed bugs. It is not worth the money to come here. Either clean up and fix up the place or tear it down and rebuild. Sioux City should be ashamed of this theater. This gives people (especially people from out of town) a perspective that Sioux City must be a dirty city.

New remodel is nice but.. when I went to the theater the movie was supposed to start at 11:30. Usually at any other movie theater they show commercials then when 11:30 comes around the previews start. This theater didnt even start the commercials until 11:45 and then the previews started at 12:10. The actual movie didnt even start until 12:30. It was ridiculous. Dont plan on coming back unless I have an extra hour to waste.

They recently remodeled so they have nice chairs but their sound equipment and screens are still in dire need of updating. The screen I saw had large imperfections and I could actually see the reflection of a metal bar through part of it where its worn thin. Refreshment prices are way out of hand as well.

Ticket lady could have been more nice instead of that ugh Im at work feeling but get it its a holiday and she was stuck working. Other then that it was great!

This theatre is not in great shape. But it is an old building so not much to blame on the staff. I have great service there. Everyone is really friendly. Popcorn was delicious better than Promenads in my opinion. Keep up the great service.

We usually enjoy a night out at the movies but not tonight. Tonight We went to the southern hills AMC in sioux city. We Like $5 movie night but that was the only plus. We wanted to buy 2019 refillable box but no..they are out....its Jan 8. Really out already. A gal yelled over we should get a shipment tomorrow....yeah that doesnt help me now Then the lobby was a mess. Popcorn on the floor along with lids straws, and napkins. The theater was also a mess. Popcorn on the floor, crumpled napkins, seat left down, my seat was greasy. .it was clear NO ONE cleaned between movies. When we left 21/2 hrs later the lobby was a mess. The butter, salt and condiments area was a huge mess.Popcorn everywhere, cup, napkins, straws on the floor by the pop station. And to top it of 3 employees were talking laughing and having a great time in the concession stand....the 3 more staff giggling and have a fantastic time chatting in the ticket office. They could have taken 20 miutes to lean a bit. Im not sure if we will come back.

Half way throu the movie, it went to a blank screen, twice. And now we cant find any employees.

We started going back to the theater much more we enjoy this because of the reclining seats you have much more room oh yeah theyre also heated very nice

Seating was awesome! It was like watching tv at home! So nice to go in and not see ripped curtains on the walls.

The updates are great! So glad AMC bought this theater. They have really updated it. Still need a ticket kiosk for those that purchase online.

This was the worst time of my life they kicked us out for no reason they should of be fired and they the worst of all the grab my really hard Im never going there again. That was just bad service and they were really rude.

Both times I went the service is rude and terrible. The movie starts late and never on time cause of previews or movie trailers. They also kicked out a couple of girls for no reason and gave them there money back in a card instead of cash as if there back again to that movie theater how ridiculous is that overall bad service.
