The heart beat of the Community, David Raines Community Center located North of Shreveport, La. On the Martin Luther King Jr Community ( aka) Cooper Road area. Our center was open to the community in 2001, by the city of Shreveport and ran by the department of Shreveport Park and Recreation and we are still going strong. The Manager is Claudell Sanford, Rev. Luther Adams ( Recreation Specialist) that me, and Faye Spillman (Senior Citizen Coordinator), Romedro Bishop (Recreation Specialist),Rhonda Taylor (Teacher),and Cassandra Wade (Teacher). We are open to the public from Monday Thur Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. We are a family center with a family staff to serves the Community. From fun and sports to helping with the kids homework in our tutoring class. Come out and check us out you be glad you did.

Basketball goals were not up and the grass was too high to let my babies play

Exercise class was great. Worked up a sweat. Way to start the day.

ME ND MY FAMILY VISIT THERE THEY HAVE EXERCISES EQUIPMENT GAMES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO PLAY ITS A VERY NICE INTERESTING PLACE TO ATTEND FOR YOUR FAMILY OR ANY OCCASION ITS VERY VERY NICE CLEAN ENVIRONMENT YOU CAN ALWAYS GO ND PLAY SOMETHING ITS A VERY NICE PLACE

Wonderful center. Great facilities great staff. The basketball court is in great condition. Rooms for teaching are wonderful, great community space with lots of room.

Its a nice place to just take a walk and just be in nature.

Great space for parties, large efficient working kitchen, lots of dance floor room (depending on how you arrange tables). Worth checking out.
