I went here for a field trip in college and it was amazing! They were super welcoming, the buildings are beautiful, and its a place that just makes you feel good. The Squaxin Island tribe run this museum fabulously.
Wouldnt know. Tried to visit today and they had HVAC problems so they were closedDrove an hrs to see it and the website said it was open until 5. The hrs. On the door says 2p.m.so even if it didnt have problems today we still wouldnt have got to visit. The website and hrs. posted on the door neef to be the same unless they dont want visitors.
Fascinating info about the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest. Well written displays. Very much a living museum with history connecting to present day. Grrat place to bring students of all ages.
Pretty cool place. Very peacefull.
Interesting place, only visited the gift shop/building and a bit of the outdoors area. Bought a couple of items and chatted with employees from tribe. Worth a stop, will go again. Also seen a new Vietnam honor flag that I had not seen a version of before...was impressed with that. I should have taken a photo, oh well, next stop I will.
Certainly worth the visit to learn of the Squaxin peoples rich history in the South Sound! The staff are very helpful and warm hosts.
Most wonderful people and very interesting. We truly enjoyed it.
Tremendous displays involving maps, photos, historic documents and artifacts that help tell the story of the Squaxin Island Tribe, all presented in a quiet and reverential environment.
Amazing history. It supports so much programming and offerings for the community. Great resource for settlers learning about those who originally inhabited the southern coast of the Salish Sea.
Wonderful museum. You wont be sorry you went.
For a tiny museum, this one is rather informative about this tribes history. There are artefacts and written accounts of cultural traditions or encounters with white oppression.
Although the outside is very beautiful, we came on Labor day Saturday and it was closed. My kids were very disappointed.
What a beautiful space for learning and reflection!Thank you for sharing.
