I felt like I was in a movie during the whole event, especially when I first went into the bathrooms. The bathrooms on the first main floor are nice and big. Best venue I’ve ever been in and loved the staff too.

Hope this doesn’t sound cliche - but words really can’t express how beautiful this space is.waking in, you’re transported into what fees like a magical realm!you can feel and see the history in the building. vintage elevator, the high ceilings, the brick...they somehow managed to preserve the richness and character of this venue’s history while adding their own unique, modern, and artistic design.every single room, everywhere you look, there is not one small detail that is not intentional.if you’re thinking of using this space for a wedding, or a party, or a whatever.... i’m gonna go ahead and venture out to say that YES - this space will be everything you are looking for, and then some.

I had the honor of participating in a styled shoot at Uptown Indigo. The director Duncan was most helpful from start to finish. The venue is absolutely stunning!!! The rooftop terrace view was my favorite. Im anxious to get back sometime to create more magic. Let me not forget that amazing brick wall on the inside. It was the perfect backdrop for our setup. The cake & sweetheart table found its place against that wall like a puzzle piece. This hidden gem is to be visited on my next visit to Shelby for sure. I had my wedding and reception here and there aren’t enough stars to give this venue. It was such a fantastic day and I’m thankful for all of the help Duncan gave and wonderful suggestions for catering. The venue it’s self is topnotch with a perfect combination of the original craftsmanship and funky modern elements. The pictures online do not show how amazing this place is. It is a perfect place for any type of party formal or casual. Another great hidden surprise is the access to the rooftop and guests being able to relax and watch the sunset while listening to music played throughout the building.

This venue is stunning, and the owners are a pleasure to work with when planning an event. I worked with them to host a planning retreat in the Indigo hall, and it was perfect. Our team was inspired by the way the building had been transformed from a dusty, empty shell to a truly breathtaking venue. Ive attended a number of other functions here as well - both business events and social gatherings - and each one has been very well done. Indigo & Steeples, the event spaces, are gorgeous (you have to check out the womens bathroom on the second floor!!) and the rooftop is a lovely spot to talk with friends and enjoy the sunset.

We attended a wedding at this venue in February. We have been to many weddings throughout the years and this venue was by far the most unique. We loved the vibe - which made for a memorable night. Reception area was on the second floor, cocktail hour on the third, and a rooftop. The cocktail hour room had its own bar, pool table, and a couple cozy lounge areas. My husband and I were the first couple to get married at Uptown Indigo. The uptown atmosphere was incredible. I got so many compliments and text messages about our venue choice. We were able to save money in many ways, and we were able to plan our wedding extremely fast. My husband and I needed to get married rather quickly because Davids father is having health problems - we really needed to have the wedding happen because his father wanted to be the best man. The full handicap accessibility was very important to us, and it was 100% convenient.The drinks were good, the dancing was great, and the whole day went WONDERFULLY. Highly recommend Uptown Indigo, and we were so happy to be the first wedding at Uptown Indigo! The customer service was so top notch - Adam was a brilliant bartender, and Duncan was there at every step to make sure that things went smoothly (like the handing the microphone out during the speeches, and handling the moment when I marched from the historic elevator to the alter!).This was everything that we wanted and more. I would refer Uptown Indigo to anyone!

We could not have been happier with Uptown Indigo! My husband and I wanted a venue that was local, indoors with opportunities for outdoor photos, and that had a modern feel. Uptown Indigo fit our criteria perfectly. From the first time we entered through the blue doors we fell in love with the updated vintage atmosphere. Everything suited our needs perfectly, even things we hadnt considered. Being able to use multiple floors and the rooftop terrace allowed us to have an intimate ceremony while having plenty of room for dinner and dancing. It also made the transition from ceremony to reception smooth and simple, without the need to relocate or find parking. The staff at Indigo was wonderful to work with as well. Duncan was always available if we had questions or requests, and had a great list of suggested vendors when we were unsure of where to look. The booking process was very easy and stress-free, and we always felt like we were being taken care of. We have since gone to several parties there and would highly recommend it for any event!

I can’t say enough positive things... My sister hosted her wedding reception here and we loved every minute of working with Duncan and his team! The beauty of this venue is elevated by the attention to detail and forethought of the staff! Every guest who came in was floored by the decor and the charm on the space. 10/10 would recommend! We’re from south Charlotte so our guests drove 1+ hour to come and they agreed that it was well worth the drive. My husband and I want to get married again so we can party at Uptown Indigo!! Lol

Spent a magical evening at the Uptown Indigo celebrating a wedding rehearsal. OMG this place was absolutely beautiful. A friend of mine got married here on Saturday and I was blown away. I did not realize that Shelby had such a hidden treasure. Friday night we went for the rehearsal Duncan was amazing he took care of everything and he made sure that we all knew what we were supposed to do and where we were supposed to go. Saturday was just as great he was very professional and helpful he made sure that we had everything that we needed overall I would say this place is a must if you are looking for a beautiful upscale venue. Also the space seems pretty versatile due to the different levels and the rooftop. It was a very beautiful I will definitely be back to host an event of my own.

The friendly staff was great to help with all of our needs. The facilities are absolutely gorgeous from the grand ball room with a full bar, to the second floor complete with billiards, fire place, grand piano, and the roof top experience promise 360 panoramic view of Shelby with the beautiful churches and mountains. I also watched a beautiful sunset. It has something for everyone, with the historic ceilings and modern design blended together, it is sure to please everyone. The Venue was beautiful! Duncan and his family really made me feel at home and went over everything in detail. There bar has a Charlotte vibe that you dont have in Shelby so that was a huge plus. Even there rooftop spot is amazing and overlooks Shelby.

There is not enough stars in the world to rate this business/venue. Everything was customized and catered to our liking. A lot of places will not tolerate outside vendors, so it restricts your ideas and the dreams you may have.... Uptown Indigo was definitely on the opposite end of the spectrum from other vendors we looked at! Communication was always at a 100% and it was always transparent. I would recommend this venue for weddings, baby showers, or any other event you may want to have at an EXCLUSIVE location!!
