Nice park on the Mill Creek Trail. There is a porta potty but no bathroom with water. Really wish there was a full bathroom. Playground is great.

Wonderful place to take a bike ride or hike if thats your preference. Tons of shade. Wonderful streams and landscape. You may even have a deer cross your path like I did. The pavement is extremely smooth and there are plently of places to stop and take a break. Well done.

Started at the park and walked about 2 miles south then back up to the park. Amazing trails that are well-maintained. Lots of shade. Only down-side is no dog poop bags that I saw. All in all, such a fantastic trail. We will definitely be back!

I ride my bike on the trail that goes through the park. From the Kansas River to Olathe and back, thats a great length for a trail system! Mostly in good shape, just a few sections of the trail need attention. Great for walkers, runners, & bicyclers! The trail also connects into two different hiking trail systems at Shawnee Mission Park and there are also adjacent horse trails in some sections. You cant beat this experience without driving far outside the city!

My family visited this small park as part of our ongoing quest to find new playgrounds to play at. The playground area was very nice and well-maintained with lots of mature trees nearby for shade. It is close to the train tracks, but they are on an elevated bridge and the bike trail passes underneath, so I really didnt feel that it was a safety concern for my young children. Overall we had a great time and would love to return in the summer to picnic.

Easy access to low impact riverside walkway/bike path, good birdwatching, native plant identification, and witnessing realtime tributary Mill Creek erosion of an old sandbar island in the Kaw River, just minutes from I-435 and Holliday Drive.

Nice little park. It has a trail running through it that goes to Nelson Island and also 14 miles south to Olathe. Other than the trains that occasionally pass it is normally pretty quiet. In the early mornings, however, the trails going through wooded areas are littered with large spiderwebs spanning the width of the trail, not something that is easily avoidable. If you go sometime mid day or in the evening you can easily relax knowing some other poor sap probably already walked/ran/biked through them. Not recommended late at night as the aforementioned spiderwebs are much harder to spot and much more frequent.

Great place to go for a walk or bicycle ride. The Nelson island loop is not compete due to storm damage. Part of the trail has dropped into the creek. However the trail going south has just been refinished. Its beautiful.
