Nice cabin overall, besides the excessive dust in rooms. The view was spectacular!! Just a relaxing atmosphere.

An absolute treasure on the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. This cabin comfortably fit our 10 person party. Views are outstanding during all parts of the day, and the name fits the bill in the evening. A back road 5 minutes from the cabin leads into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, avoiding the congested entrance near Gatlinburg, which was fantastic. Pigeon Forge is roughly 20 minutes away if you want to do all that. Only downside is the grill situation: park style grills, so bring charcoal and something to cover the grates. The road to the cabin is pretty steep so you need to be an experienced driver to handle it, but the views and location are absolutely worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great accommodation in the area, and also to those looking to avoid the touristy areas.

We loved it! Except the beds were very very very uncomfortable. But we had the bears visit us everyday. They would just walk up behind you and you turn around and they were right there. As you will see in the video i jumped out of my shoes i ran back into the cabin so quick. It was such a beautiful cabin and beautiful weekend. The deck did feel sketchy not the most solid deck. Thanks for a great weekend

The drive to Sunset Magic is typical of any drive to a chalet located on a mountain, lots of dogleg turns and going up steep hills. If you follow the signs for Sunset Magic, you should be fine, however if you are driving to the chalet at night it could be a different story. The chalet has 4 full bedrooms with a bunk bed and loft, it says it can accommodate roughly 14 to 15 people. We had another family coming so we sent them a Google pin and they were able to find it ok. The directions from Google end about 1,000 feet before you make it to the chalet, so at night, it can be a bit of a challenge. From the chalet the views are absolutely spectacular. The inside of the chalet looks great on the website, but after a brief stay you realize that this unit is quite out if date.No WiFi, so plan ahead. The website states that the unit has it, but it does not. The TVs in the bedrooms are old picture tubes units and really small. If you are planning on watching some ballgames while others are out, the main TVs are also small and dated, they do have direct TV, so you should be able to see a game. In the kitchen two of the bar plugs did not work, the coffee maker did work but was very slow. Remember to bring filters... If you cook for your group, there is an ample supply of silverware, plates, bowls, tongs, oven mitts, etc. The utensils are heavily used and need to be replaced and/or upgraded. In the main living area with the kitchen, if you have a large group, there will be a lack of places to sit. It could be the way it is organized. The downstairs area has a pool table and a air hockey table. Both work well and had a ample supple of equipment. Each main bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, ours was tilted. I assume to help quickly drain it during a cleaning session. However the tub was tilted so much that if you took a shower, you needed to be careful to not slip or fall. Speaking of taking a shower, this unit was simply not designed for that... first if only one person in the unit was taking a shower there was some water coming out, not much but you could make it work in a pinch. If someone else decided to take a bath or shower, flush a toilet, start the dishwasher, or wash a load of clothes forget it. This unit was just not designed for multiple people to use the restroom at the same time. On the surface the unit appeared clean, but once you start looking some things appear to have been overlooked, not sure when it was last dusted, but suspect it has been a long while. The only reason I mention this was because on the kitchen counter when we arrived was a envelope that was marked Tips for Cleaning Crew. I have stayed at my share of chalets in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, etc. and have never seen a tip envelope for the cleaning crew. This one was so strange, it had dates on the back with the amounts left on previous stays. Not sure if this was done to give you a guesstimate on what you should leave or they were to lazy to do something that required more effort. There is a grill, it is outside in the driveway and is one of those park grills. If you were expecting a gas grill, you will be disappointed and will need to bring some charcoal. The chalet has some nice amenities, there are gas fireplaces, some in the bedrooms. The unit has some nice features, the curtain rods, switch and plug plates are designed in outlines of bears, fish and general outdoor activities. These are just decorations and do not help with overall functionality of the chalet.Check out time is usually 11, at this unit it was 10. We called ahead the night before and asked for an extension. We were told to call back the next morning. After multiple tries we were able to get through and they allowed us an extra hour.if you have ever had 12 people trying to eat breakfast, pack, and load their cars to leave... an extra hour can be invaluable.Good luck, hope your stay is a great one.

The most beautiful cabin and I have stayed at a lot! We had bears visit us everyday which we never had at any other cabin in the smokies! We had 3 baby bears come every day and it was a wonder to watch them from a safe distance on the huge deck. If you want to see spectacular views, wildlife, and really feel out in the wilderness but with all amenities you need - this is the place! We will be returning and hopefully bring our friends and more family next year! We hope this cabin will be our family-traditional trip in the fall every year. Thank you sunset magic for a magical vacation!

The most beautiful cabin I’ve ever stayed at. Yes, there is internet. The guy who wrote the review earlier had no clue - thank goodness they didn’t discourage us from staying at this great cabin. The cabin was clean and orderly. Great location, too! Back entrance leads you into the smokie mountain national park. Cove Mountain realty was very helpful and helped us get anything we needed for our stay. The drive up and down was spectacular. A real vintage - outdoorsy wonderland. Bears, turkey, squirrels and birds galore. We enjoyed having TV sets in each bedroom. The big screen TVs up and downstairs were a great way for the kids to watch shows downstairs while we watched other shows upstairs.Loved the hot tub and all the sunsets. Great kitchen and dining area...we loved sitting outside on the huge porch...more kitchen utensils than we have at home. Made cooking and dining a sinch!Simply fantastic! Yes, we would stay again.
