You need good shoes and swim shoes! We watched many people slip and fall!! People just trying to walk to higher ground. I couldnt go that far up beause of the climbing. The water was freezing!! I couldnt even handle a foot in.Crazy seeing older people and a person on crutches trying to walk through.

Great place. Bit of a wait to get in, but be patient, its worth the wait. Simple walk to the creek, there are restrooms a few feet from the parking lot. Wear water shoes. Its cold water and can be very slippery in places. Great place to bring your kids and let them play.

Very fun place to have fun with family. We all enjoyed the slide and the jumping. There was plenty of parking spots in the park but only 80 cars were allowed to park there. Other cars had to wait outside and when a car left the parking, a car could get in. There is a $20 fee that can be paid by cash or a card.Inside the park, people kept their distances and I can say not too many people were inside the park even though there were cars waiting outside to get in.

Slide Rock was a beautiful place. It was a scary drive for someone from Florida. Driving so close to the Edge of the hill/mountain side was very nerve wrecking but worth it. There was plenty of parking and the cost was only $20 for a car of four people. There was a small shop but pricey. The walk to the water wasn’t to far. The water was super super cold like ice. There was a lot of space for you to lay your towel out and relax. You are able to bring in snacks and drinks in a cooler. You want to get there early due to the quarantine since they are limiting the amount of people let into the park.

Slide Rock is in the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona. The amazing red rock formations surrounding the creek at Slide Rock are very picturesque with cactus and trees. The creek is a little chilly in early fall but it was very fun sliding down the creek into pools of water in the narrow canyon. This is a great place to spend the day.

Slide rock is a very fun place to cool off in the heat of the summer. I love the short hike leading up to the water, and when you get to there, the rocks look SOOO pretty and very vibrant! There is a cool rock you can jump off of into the water, and I still never touched the bottom. There were also some pretty fish. I recommend wearing water shoes or socks as the rocks in the water are very slippery and you will probably fall on your butt if you dont. I hope to be back again!

I absolutely love this place! This is probably my single most favorite place in the world actually. I’ve been lucky enough to visit about every 2 years recently, although before 2016, it was about 20 or so years. It’s crazy how much more crowded it went from 2016 to 2018! It’s 2020 and we’re planning on our trip for this year, although we are probably going a little later in the year this time. I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Enjoy some of my photos and videos!

Beautiful and so fun. They are limiting how many people can come in so it’s not crowded and easy to social distance. Went midday on a Thursday and had no problem getting in, was told the weekends fill up fast. Water is freezing, wear water shoes and bring a tube if you don’t want to completely submerge. The water is calmer up higher if you have little kids who want to do the slide.

We have visited here a few times. The kids absolutely love it. The park has a large parking lot that does get filled up fast during the weekends so you have to arrive early. During the week it is not as bad. There is space to park on the side of the road and walk down to the entrance to the park. Follow the small trail that runs along the river to stay off the street.During busy days the ranger will stand at the back entrance and collect an entrance fee per person. So make sure you have a credit card on you, otherwise you are walking back to the car.Once down by the river, there are plenty of space to sit and set up your little day camp. The locals bring their pop up shade, cooler, etc. We just had our towels and snacks. The rocks slide is very slippery so make sure you have good water shoes. One of our littles cracked a chin sliding down the rocks, so that visit ended early and in the ER. But he is all good. There are no bathrooms down by the water, you have to walk up to the park. There is a small store in the park but we didn’t visit. We stopped at the cafe down the road coming up from the town and picked up sandwiches and home bakes cookies. Super yummy

Freaking AMAZING!Definitly going back soon! The natural Slide made of rocks is mesmerizing. I took my 5 year old and she had a blast. It has its shallow areas but I would recommend some floaties for those kiddos who cant swim.Must take water shoes! They will come in handy, specially with all the rocks on the bottom some can be sharp. Not very much shade so if you have those pop up beach tents take it.They have very clean restrooms!Unlike most campgrounds around that just have those toilets with a hole on the ground. They have a picnic area, and a snack store on site. They also have apple picking so for the kids its a great before or after activity.

$20 for parking and that is the only fee you are going to have to pay. About 15 minutes from Sedona, the scenic view to slide rock its a treat of its own. Pay attention though because it is a one way highway with plenty of hikers. Depending on what time you get there, you may have to wait due to the parking lot being full. We had to wait approximately 45 minutes. And there is no phone service. So... get to talking with your family or friends. The park has a small shop with all the necessities, for example: you can buy water shoes ($15), snacks, food, umbrellas, souvenirs, shirts, ice cream, and much more. They have lockers which you can rent in order to safeguard items you dont want to take with you. All we took was two backpacks with snacks and towels. The actual walk to the creek is about 15 minutes. Enjoy the walk because it has great view. The massive red rock in the distance is breathtaking. You will go down some steps that will lead you to the creek. Once at the bottom you can pick a spot to settle. BE AWARE. The rocks in the water are very very slippery. The water is cold..but once you acclimate, you will be fine. Peaceful, and enjoyable. Not very packed. Plenty of room of everyone. I highly recommend it. We had a fantastic time here at slide rock. Be warned, though, no one escapes injury. We came equipped with wetsuits (to break our fall when we slipped on algae – a guarantee -and to keep us warm in the snowmelt), water shoes so we could attempt to walk in the ungroomed wilderness, and still, we all got a bit battered. Still, not joking when I say it was definitely worth the injuries. We arrived right at 8 AM on a Monday, and got right in. The sliding was great fun, but don’t expect anyone to socially distance. We found our own little cove and spread out so felt ok with it. A great time had by all.

We drove almost 3 hrs to get to the park, got there at 5 pm on the dot and the sign park closed at 6 pm but the gate was closed for parking. We asked the park ranger why it says the park is closed at 6 pm but we cant enter at 5 pm. The ranger was very rude and snapped and said the park actually closes at 6 but we kick people out at 5 pm. So thats why I couldnt enter. I told him that doesnt make sense from the sign to kick people out an hour early. He just shrugged and turned his back on me to end the conversation. DO NOT Recommend this place. Save your $20 as there is plenty of places to park along the road with trails leading down to the water.

Awesome experience. Spent 1/2 with the kids and really had a great time. Be prepared to walk a bit to get to a quite area of the river when it is at full capacity. Right now they are severely limiting the number of people to about 1/2 of the parking lot and once that is full they shut down for the day. Seems a little extreme for an outdoor location but it is what it is. Only negative is that they charge $20 bucks to park! One of the most expensive parks I have been to with the exception of a National park.

This place is fun. I suggest arriving early if you are going on a weekend, it gets packed pretty quick and the parking lot gets full. The entrance fee is $30 on weekends and during weekdays the fee is $20, these prices are for vehicles with 1-4 adults. Additional people in the car are an extra $5 on top of your entrance fee. I recommend bringing water shoes, the rocks in the water are slippery. You’ll still slip with the water shoes but not as much. Compared to being barefoot or wearing socks. Plus, your not stepping on little rocks barefoot (like stepping on LEGO pieces). I learned from my first visit to Slide Rock, not to be barefoot. But if you want to be barefoot... you do you boo :) Slide Rock Market sells water shoes but I believe they are $15. And YES, the water is freaking cold!! I suggest just going for it, you’ll forget how cold it is fast. Have fun and please be safe!
