Lesson learn you have to wake up so early and start hiking in trail get more water bottle to bring. It’s so hot there. The good thing is the view are so amazing. The formation of rock is like a painting it doesn’t look real and I just want to get slap if I’m just dreaming or it’s real. One of the Beautiful place that I’ve been. Unbelievable that I see such a jaw drop views and I’m wishing that I’m a good painter and I love to paint it in my wall in our house. But I took a nice pictures I think I can just print it out and put on the frame.
This is a very beautiful place to visit. There are nice walking trails that traverse this large park, and they really show off the abundant red rock scenery that made Sedona famous. The big draws for me were the many stunning views of Cathedral Rock, a series of weather-smoothed red sandstone spires that rise into the stratosphere. An over 1 mile stretch of Oak Creek flows through Red Rock State Park, and if its not windy, theres a spot within the park, where the still surface of this wide creek perfectly reflects majestic Cathedral Rock, like a mirror. Large mature trees and Oak Creek provide a lovely border near the grassy meadow of this park. Red Rock State Park is nestled along the base of red rock towers that are even more stunning in person. The entire park encompasses 286 acres, providing many trails showcasing rugged desert scenery, as well as the creek views. My wife and I did the tamed down hike along Oak Creek. We really enjoyed strolling the flat, well kept trails through this serene and scenic place.
Definitely worth a visit to the park. There is a lot of hiking similar to the rest of Sedona and you get some great views of the landmarks. The river is a nice break. It is beautiful and the walk is right next to the water. Also if its hot, this is a shaded area for a nice break.I was a bit disappointed in the rangers. I asked several questions and they said the didnt know. Really, this is your whole job and you dont know? Literally they could have made up some answer but it made them look really bad.Cost to enter the park is $7.00.
4-star park in terms of beauty. But at nearly $30 for a family of 4, it is quite a rip-off. Pricing per person rather than per car makes no sense. For comparison, the West Fork Trail, the highest-rated trail in all of Arizona, is $11 per car.
This was a good easy hike after are challenging ones the day before.
It is pretty... but costs a pretty penny! The entry fee is 7$ per adult. Most parks charge by the car - not the person. There is nothing unique to justify this fee.
Wonderful park with great trails and fantastic views. It is worth a quick tour if the welcome center for information on what you might see. Trails are easy to medium depending on your selection. I would recommend to hike as many as possible. One particularly scenic trail is along the creek without much change in elevation until the end. If you have the time for a guided tour, the rangers are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Very nice views from this state park. Plenty of trails for everyone to enjoy. Its well maintained throughout the area. The parking area is easy to navigate to. Overall, I would recommend this park for those who enjoy a good hiking day.
Beautiful! make sure to bring lots of water in hikes!
Red Rock state park was worth the price of admission. It wasnt too busy when we went on a Saturday morning. The trails are well maintained, easy to hike, and we saw wildlife including various birds, lizards, and a mule deer. And the views of the the creek and red rocks are quite stunning.
This is beautiful park. It is spotless. The park employees are very helpful with questions. There are numerous trails with different ranges of difficulty.
A nice hike with a few different trails to take.
Peaceful, beautiful, and secluded state park. Definitely worth a visit. The visuals may not be as stunning as nearby national parks, but its well worth it.
Pretty scenery but nothing you cant see from the road. Nice rock formations. Cool streams. Scenic and calm.$10 to enter is no bueno
The natural beauty in this park is unexplainable. We hiked almost ever trail (besides the 15 mile one) and we were on awe. The staff we encountered were extremely friendly and everything was marked so clearly. Never felt like we were confused what trail we were on and could have spent out entire day just staring out at the absolutely spectacular views. Would highly recommend for hikers of all skill and age. I saw many families out for hikes because there are some very easy trails and also some longer trails as well.
Particularly enjoyed e largest trees Ive seen in Arizona. Perfectly pristine park. Like everything in the area this place is impressive
Awesome sceneries all around you. Low running River. Many hiking trails. Place well maintained. Im a very satisfied visitor... DONT FORGET TO BRING BOTTLED WATER!
Really enjoyed the drive through the park and hiking several of the trails
I took this shot at the Red Rock park. Beautiful place to walk along Oak Creek in Sedona
I loved the breathtaking scenery. Went hiking there and the feeling of peace was so pervasive. I just closed my eyes and listened to the sound of the water rushing over the rocks and I was transported to my happy place. Please go there so you can experience the peace for yourself!
Love this place. ...Medium hike difficulty. ...The views was incredible. ... amazingly beautiful. ...It took us at least /more or less 3hrs of hike( it was longer coz i took pics and breaks). ... The overview was beautiful. ... the air was so calming. ... we spotted a group of deers, a rabbit,2 beetles, ants and butterflies. ...the flowers was gorgeous. ...The visitor area was great and has a mini theater. ... the price entrance $7 adult and $4 for children . ...Parking space was good. ...Service was friendly and informative. ...We had an amazing hike. ...
Great trails. Please not that there are no trashcans. So pack out what you bring.
Its a great park. The trail to the top of the mountain isnt dangerous in a any way - no canyons or steep hills along the trail. This makes it a kid-friendly trail that isnt flat and boring.
It was an amazing area. Beautiful views of the mountains. Trails were easy to walk along.
Best Red Rock on park in the nationArizona > Colorado
Lots of hiking choices. Scenic. Picturesque stream. Picnic shelters and visitors center.
I recommend the guided nature walk. Our guide Barry was very knowledgeable especially if youre in to the geology of the area. Take time to sit and watch the birds in the hummingbird garden. Dont forget plenty of water since it does get warm!
My new area to hike around for a beautiful view!!
Nice place. Good place to go trekking. Make sure the weather is fine.
Nice little hiking place. Easy hikes.
Well-kept trails and amazing views. What more can you ask for?
I am always in awe of our Creators art gentley sculpts throughout Mothers body...now if humans would stop destroying it (aaaghhh)
This park has a lot of trials. I wish I was able to check out more but definitely recommend to do research and plan your trip before going. The rangers working were nice to help me find a quick trail to do before sunset.
This park is a true gem. The scenery is beyond belief. The trails are easy to follow and very well maintained. A MUST SEE!
Cant say enough about this location. To really get the vibrant energy surrounding sedona, you need a few days to take as many trails as possible. However, a day trip does the soul good!! Plenty of gorgeous scenery, energy, and for those of you who like to shop, you can by everything from cheap souvenirs to Native American hand made pottery. Highly recommend, especially if you need to get away from the routines of life. It will most definitely rejuvenate you.
Beautiful, peaceful and uncrowded. The best part was the bird garden! We saw multiple hummingbird species, grosbeaks, an indigo Bunting and possibly a lazuli buntimg!
Beautiful views and nice trails. There is a charge to get into the park but we didnt thin it was unreasonable. Bring lots of water and wear good shoes for hiking.
A beautiful place to hike but I think we only spent a couple hours on some of the trails. If you have the time and energy you could easily spend all day hiking around the trails. Many are short but you you will need to get up the trails for the best picture spots. There is one trail that is several miles and takes you to another state park. Note that parking is limited get there early on peak days or you will wait for a parking spot.
This place is beautiful! Trails are well labeled. I highly recommend the javelina loop!
Go hike all the trails. We did it when the weather was cool so it was really nice. It took us about 3-4 hours to hike all the trails in the park that were open. The bridges to the west side of the park were closest, but it did not change out route much.
Beautiful vistas! Easy trails, nice park office/gift shop.
Nice hiking trails. Variety of terrain. Near hwy 89a.
The trails were short, it was HOT, so bring plenty of water. It closes at 5pm, opens at 9am. Come early. My husband and I came later because we did not expect to come here. We got 1.5 in the park, and its $7 a person not per car. They should have a little more trails, and water fountains, amenities, etc. with that price.
Beautiful scenery here. We went on a Pinks Jeep Tour... The best way to see the beauty of Red Rock State Park! They take you to places that are truly mesmerizing and arent accessible without the use of a 4x4. Their tour guide Preston was very informative and fun too! Highly Recommended
Lovely park. Clean amenities. Friendly staff
This is a great place for amazing views, easy trails where you can join groups and have a volunteer guide, and see the red rocks.
Nice trip so many different trails gift store closes early mon - Thursday 430 pm
Loved this place. All the trails are short and kid friendly. Beautiful area. The visitors center was really cool and there is a lot to learn about what the park has to offer and you can learn about the wildlife. They have a class you can go to as well to learn about the wildlife. Very cool. Definitely recommend checking this place out. In Will be back during the summer monsoon months to see it all green!
This place is a family oriented place to visit. It can be enjoyed by children as well as for older people. There is some hiking involved, but its not too steep or tiring. The views are amazing! I would really recommend this place as a must see National park. The town itself its so beautiful!
Wonderful day hiking. Got a little confused with the trails, but will tackle them again. Beautiful scenery and easy to find.
So amazing... a must see....
FYI the Red Rock pass I bought for week is NOT valid here. Wow! :( $7 to get in! NO DOGS either. I left.
No pets allowed! They will not even let you in. What a disappointment.
Very nice park! Visitor center has lots of information to absorb and cute gifts! Trails are easy to navigate and provide beautiful views! A must see in Sedona!
We hiked a few of the trails. The rock formations and plants are amazing sites. We did not see any wildlife except for birds. There were signs warning about rattlesnakes. We did not see any snakes. The red rocks are beautiful. Make sure that you take water along if you go on the trails. Definitely worth taking the time to see.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! 0.5x-100x zoom shot via Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Absolutely beautiful scenery, and a variety of different trails. There is a visitor center at the trail head that has good selection of books and pamphlets about the local flora and fauna. There are also exhibits there to educate the little ones (or yourself) about the various local species. Trails are beautifully maintained! If you are in the area, definitely stop by. $7 per adult, but worth it!
A trail away from the common paths.
Incredible God-designed red rock sculptures EVERYWHERE!
So many trails to walk and the views are breathtaking! We went on a weekday and there were no crowds.
Excellent for viewing rock colors and formations around Sedona. Some say the $7 entry fee high, but as a vet mine was free and didn’t mind the price for the Mrs. Would have willing paid full price for myself as well, as this is an immaculately clean park with well maintained hiking trails, visitor center with an informative video on continuous loop and classroom facilities. Gate keeper/host was very informative and helpful, however there is one park ranger that needs lessons in civility, but hey, anyone can have a bad day! Recommend.
Great hiking trails and beautiful red rock scenery
A great place for an easy or challenging walk. Nature at its finest. There is a small fee to enter which is worth it. If youre a Veteren bring your ID and get free entry for yourself and up to 3 people.
Phenomenal place to visit and learn about the area. Good hiking trails and vistas. We will be back.
Didnt see alot of the Red Rock up close, walked the trails, an awesome adventure. Friendly staff, Enjoyed.
This is a good place to begin your visit to Sedona. The views are an excellent introduction to what you will be seeing and the visitor center explains the plants, animals, history, and geology of the area with a some petroglyphs and fossils to add interest. The Smoke trail is a short, beautiful, easy hike by Oak Creek with excellent photo possibilities.
Beautiful locale. Traveled hundreds of miles and I got to build a little rock structure so it was a win win for me. Wear comfortable shoes, dress warmly during November and be prepared to hike to get to the best views.
It was a great place to stroll, the views were great and the rangers/ facilities really catered to education! I personally expected more of a hike, the paths were very easy and the house of flames (I don’t think that’s the full name) wasn’t accessible. Really nice park, just not what I expected. Beautiful none the less
Beautiful park with multiple easy hikes.
This was an incredible experience for $14 bucks we got access to all of the park, all day. The hike is moderately easy and the views are breath taking. Next time were bringing a picnic, but remember to pack it in, pack it out!
If you are going there make sure to go early in the day and do pack some food and water. We paid $11.00 and it was not worth it. There was nothing to do there. We went with my in-laws who are old and cant hike and then they closed the park after sunset so there wasnt much to do. Not sure why this place is mentioned as one of the best places to see the sunset.#letsguide #localguidesconnect #lifewithoutalu #travelblogger #indianfoodblogger #localguides #googlelocalguides #googlelocalguide
School field trip.. park rangers were very nice, entertaining and very knowledgeable. We had a great experience exploring the park!!
Red Rock State Park is a beautiful park with well kept trails and nice scenic views. The Wedding Tree is a hidden gem located here thats perfect for intimate weddings! If you are looking for a photographer who knows the area, check me out on FB or IG: @jlobbinsphoto
The road to get there had better views
There are a lot of hikes in and around Sedona with gorgeous views, but some are harder than others and not for everyone. Red Rock State Park is perfect for entry-level hikers, families with small children, and anyone who wants to see decent views of a few popular rock formations without having to put forth a lot of effort. A spaghetti bowl of trails meander through the property, but dont miss Eagles Nest Trail. That was our favorite.
Serene, healing, beautiful places to find peace and enjoy nature, you can’t miss it!
Incredible views. Easy to moderate trails.
Beautiful. Easy hiking. Great staff. Trails are well maintained.
Great park, very friendly staff, beautiful hikes. We only saw some deers, but this may be late in the season.
Very colorful rock formations warrant a stop on the way up to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix.
With the most often photographed view in all of Sedona, Red Rock Crossing is a favorite hike along Oak Creek. Excellent for a Summer dip and a picnic, be sure to leave no trace.
Very peaceful, not many cacti, absolute beautiful. Great trails, not hard but fairly long distance. Was a great experience!
Wonderful trails, lots of view points, helful volunteers and lots of mother nature. Nothing difficult, just good walking trails and easy to moderate terrain.
Hands down the most beautiful place I have ever been to and had the opportunity to hike. Bring lots of water though!
While hiking I went back to the thrilling days of Old West, cowboys and indians, rugged settlers. That wild west feeling expecting to hear the line of wagons rolling. This is an ideal place for visitors to enjoy cinematic scenery. Rugged landscapes beautiful red color derives from oxidizing iron hemetite and constantly changes with light. It is truly a special place.
Such a beautiful view with many trails to take.
Stunning...and much less crowded. Definitely worth the visit.
Great hike. Not crowded. Helpful rangers!
Really beautiful place to spend a day. We went all the way up to Eagles Nest and the hiking was difficult in places. If you stay on the easier trails its pretty family friendly. This is a nice day trip for people who live in the Phoenix area.
I am visiting from Virginia and we chose the eagles nest trail for a quick trip and it was beautiful. Not only was the scenery gorgeous but the adventure was amazing. It was nothing but excitement guessing the next view around the upcoming turn you may see. Nothing was predictable, it keeps you alive and wondering what’s next. Unfortunately we went mid day so I didn’t get to see any rattle snacks, but a great, beautiful and exiting hike! Very much worth a visit to this park!Make sure you get your selfie at the top!!
Beautiful State Park in Arizona with awesome scenery & plenty of hiking trails.
Enjoyed day hikes in this beautiful park.
