Very nice large dog park. A little tricky to get to with road closures at the moment, but still one of the best dog parks in Seattle.
Many dogs, can enjoy but max. For people is just 10 including children. They have a sign posted out, but people tend to tear it down? For what ? SAD pass by and I seen An all American Caucasian Man and Woman, taking the sign down. But when they seen me they stopped. Think they gotten sacred! Just be careful wear a mask and obey the rules.
Cool terrain for the pup to explore. And lots of space for fetch as long as it doesnt get too crowded. It can get a little rough () when there are many furballs around.
Big and great for dogs to run around
Awsome place even had water fountain for dogs
Beautiful surrounding area, but the off leash area is dusty-gravel. They have a big dumpster for dog droppings, and many owners that come here are great at cleaning up after their dogs. There are tons of extra balls & toys for doggos if you left yours with a great watering station for the pups. Its super shady, so even in the summer you can enjoy without you & your pal getting too hot in the sun.
Popular green lake off leash dog park. Owners and dog walkers populate this park so there will always be dogs there. It’s on a hill in a tiered design, but in a circle. Middle is a fenced off area of trees and bushes. Water on upper plateau, one giant garbage bin only at entrance. Separate area for small dogs. 4 benches but no shelters. Lots of tree coverage good for summer heat. Terrain is mostly soil/dirt. VERY dusty during dry months, and moderately muddy during winters. Surroundings are forests with walking /jogging paths and shelters for park users. There’s also lawn bowling or bocci court somewhere nearby. Restrooms are close to the dog park.
One of our favorite dog parks! Small dog area, different levels, lots of space for dogs to play with other dogs/by themselves/ect.In the winter bring your own water. There is a spigot and bowls but it is shut off during the winter.
Great community of dog owners that are great about cleaning up after their canines and keeping out more aggressive dogs, but the whole thing is gravel/sand that doesn’t really mask the smell of dog urine as well as grass parks. Golden Gardens off leash park is a little better in that respect.
I visited the off leash dog park with my mini Aussie and as far as off leash dog parks go this is definitely on my top 10 list. I liked the lay of the land as its not on a level plain rather on a slope affording it a couple levels for running up and down with plenty of room for us to toss and chase the ball around even with the amount of dogs that were there-it was clear how popular this place is. People were friendly and considerate as well as attentive to their dogs which seems to becoming more of a rarity lately (thats a rant for another time). We had a nice time ajnd thats what is important. Lastly, I found parking to not be an issue.
The dog park was very small. No ramps or obstacles. But ON leash around the area was great. Beautiful scenery.
Grassless dog park. Built on a hill, rather small.
This dog park is good its not amazing but its pretty good. The main reason I dont like this dog park is because how much dust gets kicked up from the dogs running around it would be nice if they switched to something else but I know funding is non existent. Other than the ground its nice its big and open so you chuck the ball far and get all of fidos energy out.
Easy access from car to gated area. Small area but volunteers keep it in good shape. Sloped area enables people to easily watch their pooch. Separate small area for small or shy dogs. Fresh water available.
Greenlake shade-seekers look no further! This park is located just up from the tennis courts at the south end of Greenlake, or across the street and up a small hill from the bleachers and bathrooms. I remember this being hard to locate earlier as its not on the Greenlake maps, maybe because its actual name is Woodland Park. With staircases and high fences, your canine will have a lot to explore around the dirt hill and path that can give him/her the exercise and dog socialization needed. Tip: there is a small parking lot at the base of the dog park good for about 8-10 car spaces.
Great place to let your dog runs freely. It was also great to let our dog meet other dogs as well.A few things to keep in mind:- The place is mostly dirt, so the bottom of the hill will see a lot of flying dust that the upper-area kicked up- With an earlier point, its a tiny hill- This is an off-leashed park, so if your dogs are aggressive, please be mindful of your dog- There will be those owners who dont pick up after their dogs. Please dont be one of those- They do have doggy bags, and a garbage bin, but you should definitely bring your own doggy bag just in case- Dont leave valuables in your car
Friendly and well maintained off leash park
I like this park. The dogs love it!! Its huge. Just wish there was a trash can inside the park. Instead you have to go all the way out and try watching your dog at the same time.
In 2016 we brought our Cairn Terrior, Jack, to the park. He was still on leash when I decided against staying and walked towards the exit. A white bulldog came up and attacked him, shaking him wildly and ripping open a large wound. (I got hurt too because I wouldn’t let go.) The owner of the bulldog casually told me that his dog doesn’t like little dogs and strangely began telling me the blood on Jack wasn’t his. We rushed Jack to his vet where he underwent multiple horrific procedures. Our little dog suffered awfully and became terrified of going out. He died soon after. Please. If you know your dog is aggressive, don’t bring him or her to a dog park. We are still heart broken at the loss of our beloved dog.
Great spot for your pup to run around and hang out with other dogs
Its built on a hill so the dogs love running up and down the steps
Great place to take your dog ... Different than other off leash sites ... This one has a hill with stairs n pathways around hill ... More variety for exercise but not as large and open as other dog parks
Our 2 year old mini Aussie loves running around in the off leash area! Plenty of space for her and all the other pups. Lots of parking areas, too
Smallish wooded off leash area with varied terrain and a great walk around the nearby lake.
Went for the first time today! Great off leash area, wish they had more garbage cans.
Great open space to let pups run loose. Multiple levels that allow dogs to climb up and down hills to get really good exercise. Owners seemed attentive to their dogs.
This place is amazing everybody is friendly, big enough to huck a ball but small enough you don’t have to walk a couple minutes to get there also right by green lake so if u want to u can take ur dog on a walk
Come to this dog park only if you want your dog to be bitten the whole time/chased aggressively! The dogs that come here are fighting constantly making it unpleasant for everyone. The owners don’t even do anything except a “be nice” tossed around a few times.
We recently adopted a rescue dog from Texas and has been acclimating slowly to us and everything. The dog park was very helpful in getting him out and letting him find himself. The park was very crowded and which had probably 25 dogs there, but it is a very large area. It is fenced in and has a separate fenced in area for puppies that was empty and all the dogs were having lots of fun playing with each other. Enjoy
Beautiful grounds and trails so big its fun to get lost in, plan activity, friendly people, grounds well kept, offleash dog park, ect...
This is one of the best off leash dog park in seattle. almost all of it is shaded. there are steep slopes which makes the dogs more tired. there are flat portions as well, for fetch.
Lots of room for doggos. I wish it were a little less dusty though. The dogs really kick up a big cloud when they get going.
Great place to socially your dog. Everyone is generally nice. Just remember to pickup your puppers poop.
Great park for doggies. The hill area gives them a lot of room to run and get tired
Dirty and crowded with pet sitters
Best good part around here.
Park itself is pretty great (although there isnt a long stretch for playing ball with a full-sized Chuck-It). Be forewarned that dog owners who come here appear not to be watching their dogs closely.
I really love the concept of this dog park. Its really fun to see my dog run around to the top of the steep hill and sprint back down. My only complaint would be the garbage can placement, but I can also understand why there is only one dumpster (to keep away the odor). Overall great dog park, awesome location, and nice scenery.
Awesome dog spot
Definitely one of the best off leash dog parks in the Seattle area. Always packed with tons of dogs (5-20+ throughout different times of any given day). Also has 2 seperate off leash areas for dogs that might be new/timid/aggressive/rehabing injury/etc..
Its a good dog park with lots of space for ur dog to run around
Great fun to set the dogs RUN and play.
Great place to bring the dog. Some owners dont have the best control over their pet so its best to figure out who you can interact with and who to avoid. They also have a small dogs area near the entrance which is good for the little ones.
Cozy place tucked away behind the fields and the tennis courts. Offers a lot of park balls and ample room to run and play!
Water available, lots of space and stairs and trees. There is a small dog area.Only downside is the trash is outside both gates
Great place to take your doggo. A little on the smaller side for off leash areas and quite popular.
Tons of dogs at all times but usually slower during mid-day. Great place to socialize your pup!
Large area near the lake. Theres an upper and lower area, a long stretch good for fetch, and a couple water bowls and benches at the top. Theres not much grass, but a good mix of dogs on a sunny day.
Great place for dogs that have a lot of energy. It’s shaded, multi leveled, and provides water and dog bags.
Great people and dogs. Nice sized parked with a private area if you want some 1 on 1 time with your dog.
Great area for dogs. The layout is nice for them to run and play, with a good variety of terrain to keep them interested.
Great dog park for large dogs and has a separate area for small and shy dogs as of March 2018. My 20 pound dogs are fine in the big area, although puppies often get picked on. The small dog area is good for puppies or small / shy dogs. Its a large, shady space covered with gravel to cut down on mud and drainage is good. Theres a really nice hill in the middle with water for drinking and it makes visibility / chucking tennis balls from the nearby tennis courts very easy (bring your chuck-it!) The site also has lots of nice paths so if the park isnt working out you have escape options. The reason its 4 stars and not 5 stars is that its getting overcrowded and its the fault of Seattle Parks. When adding the small dog park to Woodland park they carved it out of the big dog park instead of adding on new space to the side. When I called and asked why they were doing that they said they simply have a policy to not add any new dog park space, which sounds like a really lazy rule on their part. Seattle Parks really needs to take on the controversy of adding dog park space and ticketing unleashed dogs outside of dog parks.
Great park and very nature centered! Its terrain is unique compared to other parks in Seattle, which makes it refreshing. But there are not lights at night, so bring a flashlight if you are going after sundown. Also bring extra doggie bags as they may not have some.
Great dog park. Shaded and lots of people. Weird gravel they recently put down is weird tho
Cool spot, beautiful scenery--kind wish there was more grass there, and there seemed to be some aggressive dogs there. I can understand one squabble, but there were constant squabbles the entire time we were there (which wasnt all that long).
This dog park is almost entirely shaded by big trees, so its our #1 place to come when its too hot to be out in the open sun. Multiple entrances mean you can approach from any direction... which is handy, because it can be hard to find parking at the front -- along the road that comes up from the lake. Instead, you can park in the much bigger lot off 50th and take the trail through the woods.
A great place to bring your dog and its a very busy place so sometimes Ill keep then on leash and stay in the park area. Otherwise the off leash area has a lot of dogs to play with.
This is a great dog park. It is basically a hill that your dog can run around. You can easily see them at all times as long as you are at the top.
Stay away!!! Usually I do not go to this park until the afternoon of August 6th, we visited it cuz we were hanging out nearby. Unfortunately, my 7 months old puppy was involved in a fight with a larger dog (the black/brown dog shown in pic) in this park. I totally understand it is normal to have dog fights. But when we tried to separate the dogs, the owner of the other dog was so horrible and cruel. He picked up my puppy and threw him away. My poor pup hit the ground near a big rock and almost fell off the hill. I was so scared by the violence then we just left. Right after we got home, I found my dog can not open his left eye. Soon a vet confirmed he got a corneal injury due to this incident. I feel very sorry I was not brave enough to protect my baby when he got hurt. Meanwhile, I suggest anyone not going to this park. It is not safe. If you have to go, stay away from this dog especially the owner. He is fully responsible for my puppys injury.
The dogs and owners seemed to like the area really well. Its certainly a large space for dogs to run and chase each other. My only complaint is that its not very small dog friendly. Our pup was unable to interact with the other dogs because she would be ran over by the bigger dogs. Most parks have a separate area for smaller dogs.
Beautiful area dog park usually pretty full and very friendly dogs. Good for socializing your puppy.
I like the layout but there were far too many pups. People bringing in 10 dogs. Must be dog walkers. In any case, expect fights.
Small to medium-size dog park, enough parking space, easy to get to.
I actually come here often. I know how to manage my dog. Unfortunately this park is really poorly designed and theres a fight every time Im there. The hilltop design with the water and benches at the top accentuates a dogs natural hierarchical tendencies and creates competition.
This simple dog park tucked away in the Woodland Park is always busy and always has plentiful extra tennis balls, water bowls, and many trees. Its not too big but if you want to run your pup, its not a bad place to do so.
Big lots of room to roam... Oh for the both of us!
Very nice dog park though it was a little hard for me to find in the larger park.Lots of tennis balls all over the ground. A nice cement pad at the top of the hill with a water spout and bowls. Poop bags available on a large roll. The large number of trees really help cool the dog area down and allowed my pup to run around like it wasnt a hot day in August. The slope helped burn off some of his terrier energy.
My dog Batman and I are regulars here. We go there about 4-6 days a week for an hour or so. We both enjoy it. The hill is the best and he loves to hop up the stairs. Good excercise for the dogs companions also. Only issue is the amount of dust that he picks up due to his wiry coat.
Great park with lots of area for the dogs.
This is the best maintained dog park weve been to so far. Mostly big dogs on our visit, but all the owners were very attentive. Also, a multilayered, large space, so you could be in the midst of the crowd or off on your own. Highly recommended!!
Decent off leash area in a convenient location. Theres plenty of shade, a water spout and bowls for water, and benches for sitting. Theres almost always a few dogs here no matter what time you go which will give your pup plenty of exercise. People are friendly for the most part and there is various terrain which will give your dog a work out.
This is a very nice dog park that I was willing to travel about 15 miles to visit when I have one about a mile away from my house. Its a nice size, based on a slope that is often busy with dogs. Just go.
This is quite a small dog park, it has a bit of a hill and a mini loop the dogs can run up and down. But I must say there arnt too many things here. The park itself is primarily covered by trees so is nice is summer but a bit cold in winter. You may find some poo bags here but as always best to bring your own. Also there is only one open trash bin that is along the fence near the carpark.
Bigger than the city parks and has good features for the area. A variety of dogs and activity levels are catered here.
Good area, well maintained, but the location means a lot of dog walkers use it. As with anywhere youll get your rare incidents but overall its a good off leash option in a central location.
I was there looking for a nearby geocache, no dog... But boy howdy the ones that were there were having a blast.
Wonderful little park!
Not good for small dogs! The bigger dogs become aggressive and frighten my little boy, ruining his enjoyment. Thanks for putting in a separate area for small dogs, but it feels more like a penalty box. Not much fun and we would rather go to Magnuson.
Great winter place. Not too muddy
Medium sized dog park just off HWY 99. Well maintained with usually well behaved dogs and people.
Owners and dogs all cluster in one place. Seems to lead to more aggressive dog behavior than Ive seen at other, bigger parks.
This is a great place to take your best friend
Best park ever!!
Great park, not so big you can lose your dog, plenty of cover for when its hot or raining, great volunteers constantly working to keep it in great shape. Has water, bulletin board, hill, steps. Parking usually not a problem unless there are events in nearby tennis courts or Greenlake.
The dog park is fantastic its pretty large and the way its built is very fun and out of the ordinary
My 10lb dog was bit by two large dogs the other day, and the owner said, theres probably a small dog park nearby and that this park is for the wilder dogs, basically blaming me for bringing my dog there instead of apologizing profusely and allowing it to be a teaching opportunity for the dogs. But, lesson learned. Never going back. So, warning: I did notice the dogs here play much rougher than any other dog park Ive been to so there was some truth to that. Hopefully other owners there take ownership of bad behavior, though.
Im so glad this place is here. Having a dog park that is a reasonable distance from our house really helps my corgi burn some of his energy.I really like the varied terrain that the hilltop provides, its more interesting for my dog and makes it easier to section him off from dogs that are playing too rough. As other people have said, it can get dusty. There is pea gravel everywhere, which helps with cleaning up after your dog, but if it hasnt rained for a while, (not generally a problem in Seattle) the dogs will kick up clouds of dust as they run around.Lots of free poop bags on the fenceline and lots of leftover tennis balls to kick and throw.
Great park even though there is no grass for the dogs it is only gravel and on a hill
My dog loves running around with other dogs off leash. For that is park is decent but even then it doesnt qualify as a good place for me.All of it is gravel which in itself isnt a bad thing but not that great. There isnt much seating for people at all (4-6 benches sparsely separated from each other) but even then if you choose a spot you have an extremely limited view and you are garunteed to lose sight of your dog at some point and have to move quite a distance for another seat with view of it.It is enclosed and has a small area in the center at the top of the hill that has water and bowls.Overall because I had to follow him over the steep hills and couldnt sit down at all to relax I think this park is really bad for people who have any sort of back issues or dont get around well because you cant see your dog at all times, even within reason. And the seating doesnt have towards the major dog areas in it.All that said, I didnt like the park at all even though I didnt experience the big dogs mentioned in the other reviews, which wouldve made this park a no go. I most likely wont be coming back.
Quite spacious and among the trees which is great.
