The Showbox is an older venue, I guess theres something historical about it but not being a Seattle native I dont know what thats all about. I much prefer the SoDo, Neumos and old Studio Seven but the Showbox is okay for what it is. The sound system has been alright for the shows that Ive seen here. Drinks are very overpriced though, $10 a shot so make sure you get your pre-game on somewhere else before you arrive, and their bartenders can be complete trouser stains when they dont get tips. Maybe if you price your shots at $8 Id have a couple singles left to tip with, eh? Parking around here kinda sucks too. Welcome to Seattle, right?
The Showbox is a very special place. Generations have seen great bands and acts there. The hospitality services were numerous with several great bars and the staff is really saw to the best interst of clients. The one downside is accommodations for acoustics are minimal. With improvement to the acoustics, it would be an amazing intimate environment.
A historic Seattle venue. Thankfully was saved just recently from closure by a developer. Everyone should see at least one show here in their life. Huge floor, with two raised bar areas the folks who want to stand in the back can still get a decent view. Fast bartenders and great sound.
Still the amazing music venue it always gas been. Got to see my favorite band playing a private show there on Veterans day... oh what an amazing experience. Bar lines moved fast, it was packed but not over crowded, and the staff members were polite and helpful. If you have the chance, definitely make sure to come here for a concert. Aside from being a more personal venue for a concert, the acoustics are amazing!
Great venue to see a show. Got there early to get a table and had a great time and a really fun experience.Plus waiting in line by Pike Place Market is always entertaining.Got a good view without having to stand all night. I was tempted to get up and join the crowd even because it was never too crowded
I was going to watch Lovelytheband and the Queen Tessa Violet, but alas, rona has ravaged recreation, so they had to cancel.I had NO intentions of missing this when purchasing,so I opted not to insure my tickets. The Showbox and their ticketing vendor were able to & decided to refund my tickets anyway!! Totally didnt have to, that was on me.Thank you️
The best venue in Seattle. You should go to a concert there. That place is so magical. The space is oval with raised bars and the stage surrounding, and the dance floor in the center. The ceiling is supported by imposing columns. Not to mention all the historical concerts that happened there.
So... this place is a definite must. Doors open at 8pm most shows start at 9pm. Ive gone to a show every week for almost a month. The floor area is always crowded and since I usually go alone, coming early and being in front isnt an option when I have to pee or get a drink. I stand in the elevated bar area, grab my booze and can see above the heads of everyone in the crowd which is great because I am not tall. Try to come as early as you can though as it gets packed pretty quickly. Booze isnt cheap and the selection isnt great but they have what I like.
This is definitely a Seattle staple of nightlife. The venue has it all, good bar areas all around floor, intimate setting with good vantage points from a anywhere adjacent to stage. Parking was very convenient, but arrive early so you dont have to be rushed. The front bar area is fab as you can get your pre drunk on b4 festivities... As a transplant from lower southwest area of United States, its good to see a side of Seattles city personality shine.
The venue is small and intimate. No matter where you sit/stand, youre sure to have fun. Staff are awesome and super helpful, especially when it comes to accessibility needs. Always something awesome to see here!
Such a great show. Acoustics are good, plentiful parking nearby, always a good time.
Love the venue. It might be one of the best that Seattle has. Great crowds, good bar placement.
Great venue to see a show. Got there early to get a table and had a great time and a really fun experience.Plus waiting in line by Pike Place Market is always entertaining.
We were grateful for ADA seating! There are wheelchair accessible pathways to this seating location. Getting through security was painless. Love the $6 tater tots!
Showbox at the market is my #1 favorite venue in Seattle, hands down. There are others, but this venue has a special place in my heart. I have signed 1 petition in my 32 years, and the only petition Ive signed in my life was the one to help prevent the venue from being demolished. Keep the music and events going!
Awesome place to go see live music. Clean and open, good lighting, not super loud sound.Recommend getting there hour or 2 early, hang at the bar and grab a set inside the venue once the doors open.In the heart of Pikes Place, lots to do around the venue.
Cool venue for shows. Holds plenty of people but still feels intimate. Staff was amazing, especially the bouncer David. That guys a rockstar. He was doing such a great job with the crowd even the performers commented on his excellent way of not taking any grief from rowdy patrons but still being aware of people: helping crowd surfers not hit the ground over the barrier, passing out water bottles to people who were sweltering up front, pulling a couple of girls getting squished at the front of the crowd out of the fray. Class act all the way. The only knock against the place is its located in downtown Seattle which has a massive problem with homeless issues that can and will follow you to your car after the show. Not remotely safe after dark, even with a crowd.
A medium size intimate venue. Mainly standing room only with chairs along the mid section. Bar service was pretty fast but priced drinks.
Good sound quality. Relatively clean for a music venue.
Iconic Seattle music venue! I hope this place finds a sustainable future.
Tip: Get there 90 minutes early or pay double to reserve seats otherwise it is standing room only and jam packed.Super tasty fruity cocktails! The staff was friendly and service was good.
Absolutely killer music venue.
The BEST small venue in Seattle. Period. Sound quality is always amazing. The bartenders rock! Treat them right and theyll return the favor.
I loved this venue for a concert. The scenario was quite small but I really enjoyed seeing Empire of the Sun from very close. They have a wide bar and theres also a bar at right entrance.Very nice
I saw cavetown there and it was an EXPEIRIENCE. probably one of the best nights of my life.
An institution - the best place to see a show in Seattle. Super intimate with great sound. Its impossible to have a bad time here ️
Way louder than anticipated, which was a nice surprise. It was super hot and the bathroom was gross but thats to be expected in a small venue like this. All in all, a lot of fun. Oh, and I would arrive early if you want a good view. Dont make the same mistake as me :P
Its iconic. You may as well change the name of the city to boringville if we lose it. Dont let Seattle become an empty shell. #savetheshowbox
Awesome venue. Limited seats so get there early if sitting is important. Affordable tickets for great bands.
This is a great live music venue! The acoustics are great and there is a seated 21+ bar area if you dont want to stand around. Door and security staff are always super friendly and make a night out here great.
One of the best music venues in Seattle! The bathrooms are really impressive for a music venue.
A downtown Seattle staple. Please do support this venue or it will disappear. What I dig the most about this place is how diverse the music calendar can get. You could catch a mid level hip hop artist once night and then a top draw electronic artist the next. Staff is great! Do be discrete if you are getting litindoors for the show. Gotta be discreet or youll get the boot. Decent acoustics for a small club venue and they do have all ages shows if youre going to bring your kid. Best advice I could offer is to sort out your parking in advance! This is downtown a d its pricey. Dont use a garage, find an outdoor lot and walk a few blocks. Youll be grateful u did.
Highly recommend this venue for your music experience! Was treated with soMuch respect and kindness by the staff. The show of LP was packed and the crowd was kind and considerate with all! Beer was delicious and reasonably priced. I was able to sit at a reserved table and enjoy the view from an elevated perspective. My friends were right at the front of the stage and had a wonderful time. The merch vendors were helpful and kind. I would go back here in a NY Minute!
Always loved this venue. Short drink lines, great sound. Come early, its not easy to find parking.
Amazing venue to see bands. Beer is way too expensive. $11 for a beer was the cheapest option I saw.
I love the size of this place. Perfect for seeing a show you really love. Big enough for energy, small enough for intimacy. Love it.
The Showbox is one of the best venues in Seattle. Unlike its SoDo counterpart, this version is geared to acoustics and was created as a place to experience music. Theres not a bad seat in the house and plenty of bar options for those over 21.
Love this venue. So lucky to live in Seattle! The acustics are superior and ticket prices reasonable. I also usually like their drinks.
A stage that is high enough to see the band really well from the floor, good elevated seating and places to stand, great bands of all styles coming through all the time, this place rocks. If you are fortunate enough to play a show here, you will meet very friendly and helpful staff. Support this place so it doesnt get eaten by soulless developers.
Great venue with plenty of bar space so you can get a drink when you want without a huge wait. Also great that there are multiple tiers to the standing room floor so you can get a good view even if you arent right up front.
The sound system at the Showbox is amazing!! You dont just hear the music you feel it. Hip-Hop with extra bass and zero distortion!!Several bars with minimal lines even with a packed sold out house! I rarely give 5 stars so clearly the sound service, entry process and access to refreshments was on point! Zero complaints keep doing exactly what you are doing!!
The people who work there are very friendly and go out of their way to help you out.
Great venue! I think Ive been there 3 or 4 times and have enjoyed each show.
Cat Empire with a stellar opening act, Neal Francis. Perfect evening!
Horrible ADA accommodations. We purchased 3 ADA tickets to see a show. We were supposed to have reserved seats behind a rail for safety. We were informed when we got there that our seats were in the 21/older section and we were not allowed to sit in the seats we purchased. Instead we were shoved next to the stairs by the women’s restroom. We spent the entire show having people shove and jostle our daughter as they went to the bar, restroom, running back from the stage. This is a disgraceful way to treat people in a wheelchair. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for anyone in a wheelchair.
Venue is pretty good. Not very packed. Prices are really good for being in the heart of Seattle. I will be back.
Small, intimate venue. Great sound and stage. Im short and with general admission, I could still see and enjoy the show. Bathrooms are what you would expect, not terribly clean but have several stalls. Been here many times and always enjoy it!
Great venue. Easy drive in to the city. Parking within a block. Love the access to the stage.
Love the different levels of standing here. You could be on the floor, or is you were 21 and over up higher by the bar. No bad viewing places here. Never felt claustrophobic.
Very intimate venue, felt like we were standing right next to the artists!
My 1st show here was Heiroglyphics with Del The Funky Homosapien. Little Brother opened, it was so fun!The Showbox Market has like 3 bars and the sound is always dialed in perfectly.See you there!
I know this is a historic venue but its not good. Sound quality is terrible always, they oversell the hell out of the place so shows are extremely cramped. Expensive bars that liter the venue and take away precious standing space. Stage is small, no slope to the floor so unless you get towards the front you cant see anything. Really disappointing for such a well known place. If you have the choice to see an artist anywhere else then do it.
Excellent concert spot, now need to see who else is playing so I can come back!
My favorite place in town with the best shows in Seattle.
There are many reasons why I love this place, the main being the acoustics the room creates. Not a bad spot in the house. Not to mention Ive seen some of my favorite big names in a smaller venue. Truly one of Seattles beat venues!
Great small venue. Bands can get intimate with the fans.
Also served as a synogogue in its sordid past. Location of restrooms backstage sure makes you feel special when the crowd breaks into cheer. 10/10 Will go again.
The Showbox Market is one of my favorite venues in the city. Nicely laid out withplenty of room, while still feeling intimate and giving you a great view no matter where you are. I have always had a positive crowd experience here as Well. People seem to be laid back and happy.
A must have concert experience. It is standing room only (unless I have missed chairs somewhere) and offers a couple of bars in a historic building. Great sound and lighting.
Pretty nice big box to see a great show. Sightlines to the stage arent great from the floor, but the sound is pretty good. I might go as far as saying the sound is above average!
Go early for a seat. Good drinks, be nice.Nice concert venue with all sorts of acts, performances, and private events. You will most likely be able to purchase a ticket from scalpers that circle the venue before shows. There is most likely a food truck outside of the venue. If not, there are few bite options open earlier nearby. There are two showbox venues. Make sure you will go to the right one.
I loved this venue. It has tons of character!
Great show. Fun Venue with cool atmosphere.
Sweet venue to see a show! Small enough where you feel like youre sharing an experience with other human beings! Large enough not to be squished...and lots of bars along the outside to get a beverage. Hot Chip put on a great show!
Very cool downtown venue spot! Not too big, not too small. Mostly standing room only, but small enough and not too packed to get a good view. There are enough bars to keep the lines manageable. Drink prices arent bad for a concert - beer and a simple mixed drink for $16 total. Friendly staff who are refreshingly helpful instead of being drunk with power over the the patrons.
Still one of the best places to catch a show in the Seattle area. Good sound and close proximity to the performing artists.
Just saw Caravan Palace, one of the best shows Ive seen this year! Thank you so much for having an intimate enough venue to really enjoy music line this!!
Great venue for concerts. Save this landmark. SAVE THE SHOWBOX
Nice venue but loud bar areas during the whole show--for a show other than deathcab for cutie would have been fine
What a great set up for a show. Saw G Love and Special Sauce they never put on a bad show. Easy to get a drink and friendly staff.
Amazing!!! Saw Lights here! Very up close and personal venue!
I enjoyed my first show at The Showbox. The sound quality was good, but might have been better had I been in the center of the room rather than up by one of the bars in the rear corners.
This is such a great venue!
My wife and I went here 2 weeks ago and had a really good time. The inside is impressively larger than I thought it would be with 4 bars...WOW!! If you get the chance...order the in house special pizza...it is fantastic!!!
Love some of the artists the come into town that play at this venue.Always look forward to concerts here.Parking isnt hard to find, be ready to pay a little bit for it though.
Had a blast. Great sound and group of folks.
Nice, intimate venue. I love LP & I loved my 1st time experiencing this place!
It was a good venue had bar seating as well as the floor for underage patrons
They only hire their friends and this no big lense cameras is just a joke. Dont those Geico caveman door workers know that almost all cell phones have cameras with little lenses you can just pop on? And a lot of phone cameras take amazing pics, so those door me dontb realize that? Not to mebtiokmxlx
Really cool venue, popped in for an impromptu show, never heard of the bands but it ended up being good. The opening act was way better then miami horror. Beer, pizza and music
Great place to see a show. Most recently saw MXPX there. Central location in Seattle with lots of places to park.
Awesome nostalgic venue, sound was good, plenty of bars to get thre party going
This venue is awesome because of how close you are to the stage at all times... had a perfect view from the bar
I enjoyed the retro contemporary style and stage accessibility for a live music act. Memorable on so many levels.
Great small venue to see bands up close. Sound is good. Crew is patient. Just needs a bathroom make over.
