I received my first tattoo here for my birthday and my experience was amazing! Mark did my tattoo and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to be. Since it was my first time I was very nervous, however the staff was very respectful and treated me so nicely. A week later I even received a text message from the shop checking in to see how my tattoo and I were doing. Would highly, highly recommend this studio!

We set up an appointment in person waiting several hours after no response went back in person and they had forgot about us they did not try to make it right continue to see other people in front of us not sure about the quality of work but their customer service sucks the clerk up front had a scratch pad nothing professional so she was very unorganized

I showed up with my friend for his consultation which was supposed to be at 12:30pm we got their early around 12:00pm. The receptionist told us to be seated and shell let the tattoo artist know that were there.We left at 1:20pm because not only did the receptionist not assure us that the Tattoo artists was almost done and will see us shortly but had a previous client, it seemed like he was never told about the consultation because he was going to start doing a tattoo for said previous client. Thats when we left because apparently new customers arent treated with respect. Both my friend and I were really looking forward to this.I wish their customer service was as good as their artwork.

Ive had two sessions with Kelly Borders at the Butcher. Her work is amazing, and shes very laid back as an artist. The shop is always clean and comfortable. All the artists and management staff are kind and helpful. They treat you like family. Just dont be rude, and theyll get you squared away. I couldnt have imagined anything better as my first tattoo experience.

Got a super original custom piece from Cory Hand..couldnt be more thrilled

Management was courteous and very helpful. Artist I had did some work on my friend as well. Gave the artist plenty of ideas and guidance to go off for an original and interesting design but he ended up basically just tracing the image right out of a picture.The only reason I ended up getting the tattoo after being mostly underwhelmed with the design was it was my first tattoo and I was nervous. If I had to do it again I would have went somewhere else so that part is my fault. Its still a quality tattoo however and there is no doubt he is a good artist.Went back months later for another tattoo and briefly met with him to discuss the new idea, he cut me off immediately and just said I dont do those and pretty much invited me to leave. I got it artist have styles they focus on and ones they dont do but he didnt even entertain the idea and I didnt feel very respected as a returning customer or even a regular person for that matter when I left.I ended up just going next door and was able to get an amazing tattoo the same day..My friends first tattoo turned out great he went back for an additional tattoo of a wolf running across his chest. Same artist. It wasnt until my friend got home he realized his wolf only had 3 legs.. everything else looked alright.Shop is cool there rest of the staff was polite and friendly.

The front end staff was nice, shop very clean and The Butcher has very talented artist.My tattooist was Cory Hand. He was excellent to work with. During the art consultation I gave him a basic idea of what I wanted, two examples and he put together an amazing piece. The tattoo session consisted of one full day session with a touch up session a few weeks later. Both session were extremely enjoyable with a combination of the general environment and the comfort level of working with him.In the end I had an amazing experience and a tattoo I am very proud of. I look forward to using The Butcher shop and Cory for future tattoos and recommend them highly.

On a last minute whim, my friend decided to reach out to Jimmy Butcher to see if he could squeeze her in while we were in town, and thankfully he could! He went above and beyond her expectations for her tattoo and she loves it. He was so easy going and fun to chat with, and everyone else at the shop was so nice too! It was an upbeat, open environment, and I know well both be stopping by there again when were in Savannah.

I put a deposit down for a tattoo a couple of years ago. The week after I found out I was pregnant. I know they only hold deposits for a year so I called them to explain. They were super understanding and helpful and told me to call the and let them know when I got finished breastfeeding and they would start my deposit like it was put down that day. So I called and had a consultation. My deposit was originally with Jimmy but he told me he would do it but Cory would be better for it because I was getting a superhero and Cory loves superheroes. So I went this weekend and got it. I love it! Everyone was super great and nice!

Everything about the Butcher is amazing. Jenny (the receptionist) and Jimmy are both really cool and friendly. There was a mishap with my initial design, which Jenny and Jimmy compensated for my troubles by refunding my deposit and giving me the tattoo for free. Mind you, my tattoo was small, but still. I thought that spoke words and was really nice of them to do. For my tattoo, Jimmy made sure it was perfect and exactly the size and shape that I wanted. I got the tattoo on my ribs and was shocked at how little it hurt if anything the hardest part was trying not to laugh hearing the artists make jokes to one another. Overall, even with the mishap, I was beyond pleased with my overall experience at the Butcher. I would highly recommend the Butcher to anyone looking to get a new tattoo. I know I will be going back to get another tattoo.

Now I know why they call it the Butcher. Cory Hand did a Pelican for me and it’s head looks horrible. It looked nothing like the picture I gave him. It looked ok with the sketch, but final result sucked.

Best artists in the entire low country.

Up until recently, I had nothing but great things to say about The Butcher. I have been tattooed numerous times by both Jimmy and Kelly, which do great work, if youre willing to PAY for it. $100-$150 an hour, at least. I made a deposit of $100 about a year ago, and was getting tattooed just about every month and paying for those sessions in full. Keeping that deposit revolving. I made an appointment to have a small script piece done by Kelly, finally using that $100 deposit. (She had done a very similar script piece previously for $100) Of course, if she had charged more, I wouldve been happy to pay the difference. I showed up at the shop a week before my scheduled appointment to get with Kelly about the font and the words of the piece. After we have our conversation and she walks away, Jenny (receptionist) tells me that I need to put down another deposit before I leave. That they had been lenient with me up until this point. Ive never missed an appointment and I promoted the shop every single day, wearing t-shirts, giving out MULTIPLE business cards, spreading the word, I even had Kellys sticker on my car. I messaged Kelly about the situation, with no response. Bottom line, theyre damn good artists, but theyre greedy. Customer service is number one, and if you cant provide that, Ill be finding an artist who will.

My time at the Butcher was amazing! Ive followed Kelly for 5 years and theres no one else Id trust to do my tattoos! I send all of my friends and family to her while they are on vacation and the end product is always breathtaking. Went in to get a Betty Paige tat but the artist refused to do the piece. i wanted on my inner thigh and as i cross my legs i want to be able to set down and see her right side up, leaving her upside down to every one else. kelly said it would stupid and refused to do it- she also tried to pressure me into a larger scale than i wanted. i tried to explain i was the customer and i dont care what people think- its my tattoo... nope... so on to the next artist... dont let your tattoo artists pride get in the way of your ideas and consider finding a different shop. they did refund my deposit which was the right thing to do.

Nice work, but the artist was a jerk. He was sarcastic, rude, and acted very smug and cocky. The tattoo came out well, but Ill be going to a different place next time where the artist wont act like a twat.

Very nice but dim witted akaThe worst meat shop ever!After walking in i was immediately thrown off by the cleanliness and scent. Very unusual for a meat store. The young secretary (Jenny i beleive) was very gracious but seem very confused after i asked for 25lbs of lean ground chuck and and a half rack of beef ribs. It took about 5 minutes for them to even understand my order. I asked to see the Butcher in the back. I figured that he could help. He didnt! He was just as clueless as the rest of the staff!I didnt get any of the meat I ordered but did get a pretty awesome Viking sleeve by Cory Hand.
