Nice variety of animals on display and small enough that you dont have to spend all day there. Interesting and informative live shows that also dont last too long. Admittedly I was there to see a real flamingo but enjoyed the rest of the park as well. It did get a little confusing walking through the denser jungle area but if you just keep walking you figure it out.
The kids loved going here. With all the wild and exotic animals to see they were nothing less than excited. Kids get in for free and admission for adult is inexpensive. They also have a cafe if you need to take a break and refuel.
Took my mom here since she has an obsession with flamingos, she loved feeding them! Watching the crocks and alligators eat was also pretty neat. We did go to see one of the shows but moms terrified of spiders and snakes so we didnt last long at that but I thought it was pretty neat. Nice place to go stroll for a few hours and they have a small play ground for smaller kids and a cafe so all in a pleasant visit
This place is soo much fun. Its a bit more of a family place or place for kids but its still a lot of fun. You get to hand feed flamingos and they also give you options for other things as well. And they have cute shows too that are pretty fun. All in all Id definitely return here.
We loved it. Its very beautiful. Feeding the flamingos was such a great experience. Everyone was super friendly except they lady who takes care of the birds, she was straight up mean to them. She said they are toddlers and needed treated that way but cps would be at this womens house if that were the case. It was really heart breaking
This place is one of the most adorable and fascinating gardens I’ve been too in so long. The flamingo area is exceptional. Great place for a small/quick adventure with a loved one or for some family fun time with the kiddos. Definitely a must go to if you’re in the area.
Our go to place for outside fun with animals. We love the young and enthusiastic staff. Is clean, safe and pretty
It was crazy hot but we enjoyed our time. Feeding flamingos and petting a tortoise were awesome experiences. Bird show was cute and watching the gators and crocs eat was cool. There was an amazing zookeeper who talked to us about the porcupine and the tortoise and I cant remebed his name but he was the highlight of the experience for us. He even gave us some porcupine quills to take home! Thank you guys for a great last day of staycation.
We were going to get the Family Annual pass but just got daily admissions. Pricey admissions $88 for a family of four + bag of food but the animal presentations and the experiences were great. My son loved holding the parrot and baby alligator. We would have paid for more animal experiences as a family if daily admissions wasnt so much! Staff was knowledgeable and fun! The Flamingo Cafe was awful and expensive. Rude staff, stale popcorn, and sad nachos. Id prefer to bring my own food in and picnic next time. Well wait to get the Florida residents summer pass next year.
Great family fun, virtually all outdoor. Lots of animals, birds, and tropical gardens. Seems perfect for 2020!!
Cool place to visit in Sarasota, located off 41 close to downtown. When you’re there it’s hard to imagine you’re so close to the busiest part of Sarasota. They have done a great job making you feel like you’re in the jungle with all of the big trees and vines and walkways. Lots of beautiful birds, reptiles, they have exhibits and shows throughout the day. The highlight is feeding the free ranging flamingos. If you don’t want to drive to Tampa to go to the zoo, this is a great little place to see some interesting wildlife. Great for kids or adults, I spent about two hours there last time I went.
A great time as always. My children will not let me leave Florida until we visit Sarasota jungle Gardens. I think we go to the jungle gardens every time were in Florida
THE OUTSIDE SIGN AS BEEN MISTATED FOR MONTHS. IT SAID CLOSED AT 5PM, WE MADE IT INSIDE AND THE HOURS WERE LISTED AT 3:30PM. THE GIRL AT THE COUNTER WAS NICE ALTHOUGH SHE COULDNT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO COMPENSATE FOR THEIR INCORRECT SIGNAGE OF TIMES AVAILABLE. WE SPENT $57 FOR FOUR PEOPLE AND ONLY GOT TO SOEND 45 MINUTES THERE AND DIDNT EVEN GET A CHANCE TO SEE THE ENTIRE PARK. I CALLED THE OFFICE TODAY TO TALK TO MANAGEMENT. HOWEVER, MANAGEMENT DID NOT GET ON THE PHONE. A LADY CAME ON THE PHONE AND LIED ABOUT CHANGING THE SIGN OUTSIDE AFTER I POINTED IT OUT YESTERDAY TO THE CASHIER. THE LADY WAS NOT ACCOMMODATING AND JUST GAVE ME OLD REPEAT INFORMATION FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
This was the perfect little nature get-away from The stress of Covid and gave me a real sense of serenity that I so desperately needed, nature has a brilliant way of doing this. Strolling down the beautiful paved paths with glorious lush green canopies brought me back to what is really important and made me feel grateful for all the beautiful that surrounds us. Viewing the un-effected animals and birds in a sense also set me free, even if just for a couple hours to realize hope and just how important nature’s roll is in our well-being. The extraordinary birds this park has chosen to gift us, the coy fish that seem to call you in, the charming arches of greenery show you that while the world is in disarray, you can still keep peace in your heart. I would recommend bringing the children, a lover, parents, to help them settle a bit after all we have been through. Peace be with you all - Jo
Great place and good alternative for go outside with your kiddos. Have sanitaizee station often in each corner and no crowded.
We had the best time celebrating my daughter’s fourth birthday at Sarasota jungle Gardens. The staff was amazing and very thorough. We felt safe. They made my daughter feel very special
I loved it, specially feeding the flamingoes, is a beautiful place with lots of greenery and great to walk around and discover lots of exotic birds, personnel was very welcoming and it was very educational, it was truly a great experience.
My husband and I were joined by our son and his 3 children for a delightful experience at the Jungle Gardens. The grandkids really enjoyed feeding the pelicans. It was a good time.
This is a wonderful place to visit. It has a place to feed flamingos and alligators. Multiple shows that are entertaining for kids and adults alike. If you have free time I would suggest Sarasota Jungle Gardens
I have lived in the Tampa area for years and had never gone before. Wonderful experience! The kids really enjoyed it! Animal keepers were very informative and willing to talk about the animals while we just walked around. The flamingo feeding was probably the best part!
Awesome place and affordable too. Feed flamingos! See other species of (many) birds, reptiles, mammals. Special options for children. Gift shop, snack bar, a nice way to spend half a day. Also peacocks walking around, samples of jungle environments.
Amazing time with the kids and adults! Absolutely loved the free roaming flamingos and the park was very clean, well kept up, parking was extremely easy and the shows were great!
Fun for the whole family.
Great zoo to go through. You can pet some animals and feed them. Pretty cool experience for kids and adults.
Beautiful birds, well taken care of, happy, and healthy. Even this flamingo who has previously had a beak injury/deformity was happy to come eat out of our hands. This is a great place for kids and adults alike (dont forget to buy large quantity of bird feed because it is fun for everyone) They have paved walkways with a wide variety of animals. You can easily get a stroller, wheel chair, and walker through. Most of the walkways are also shaded. They have a small cafe and koi pond as well. We love supporting small local places and hope you will give it a try too!
Nice place to go with the family, especially young kids to see animals. They have small animals mostly native to Florida. The flamingos are a big attraction for the kids since they can get super close to them and there are no barrier. Also, theyre pretty birds. They also have alligators and reptiles. A great place to get away from the beach for a day.
Loved this place and flamingos omgoodness! The staff was so nice the facility was gorgeous and I cant wait for the added exhibit to come
Great afternoon experience; flamingos eating out of your hand, the red panda, the corny but awesome bird show, the gift shop with unique Florida and flamingo stuff. Awesome!
I will always love this small time natural attraction! It aint feelin like home until a trip to Jungle Gardens!
Perfect place to kill a few hrs and enjoy the good stuff Florida has to offer
Visited the Jungle Gardens with the family thought it would be fun and educational but staff was SO RUDE. Everything is overpriced. The animal encounters were expensive and not worth your money. I barely saw any staff out to answer questions and who I did see they were rushing or ignored me when trying to ask anything at all.DONT GO HERE unless you want to be ignored and not learn anything!! thought it would be a good chance for the kids but honestly awful. The grounds looked horrible. so much for botanical garden.Flavio the new manager doesnt seem to even care about the place hes managing. Tried to ask to speak with him and he refuses to talk with guests is what I was told.
We had a great time with all the feathered friends here. Jungle Garden Has been around for a long time and most people just drive by. But when you do decide to go, it is a magical place. So much fun and so much to see . We both love the day. Thank you!Highly recommend
Have to say feeding the flamingos is so fun. Great family experience!
One of my favorite places
This place is one of a kind. I remember coming here as a kid and this year I was able to bring my 3 year old. He absolutely loved it. Ive never been to another place that has so many opportunities to interact with animals. Its also very reasonably priced. If youre in the area, check it out. Its perfect for kids (and adults)!
This was one of my daughters favorite things we did while on vacation and we loved it too. They have a great play area, but whats even better is that the place is covered in trees (go figure) and it make for a really cool walk in the 95° weather. Super great afternoon for our weekend vacation to Florida (late may from Portland OR)
This place is really beautiful. the people, the animals, the nature is like a hide gem.
This place is really a little gem. The property is gorgeous. Great place for the kids and everyone had fun feeding flamingos. Worth the $18 entry price. There are also animal shows and a reptile house. Small petting zoo too.
Loved it! Hand feeding a Flamingo is really neat!
Great place, cool animals, place seemed small at first but ended up spending over 4 hours between shows and everything else they have to offer. Cost around 18 per adult but is completely worth it. (Check out the parrots and say hello and goodbye)
Love seeing all the reptiles and watching all the bird shows they are just so intelligent
My five year old grandson had a wonderful time at Jungle Gardens. It is small enough to not overwhelm a youngster but large enough to keep kids busy. The bird show was entertaining and informative and the biggest hit was feeding the pink flamingoes. All staff and most guests wore masks and common areas were being sanitized regularly. We will go again.
Loved this family owned zoological park since I was a kid. It’s been consistently maintained over the years. A portion of the park was closed off during our visit this time, though. Not sure why.
I absolutely love this place. Between all the animals and the flowers its absolutely beautiful. I was there two hours and that was not enough. Plan about three to four hours. Including but not limited feeding flamingos. Very awesome
We visited in early July. We were met by a very friendly staff, a nice gift shop, and once out the door a beautiful peacock, but unfortunately I have to give Sarasota Jungle Gardens only two stars as I was saddened by how small some of the cages were, that is where they spend their life, its such an important issue. I believe there is a new owner now, who seems to genuinely care, so I am very hopeful it will improve as it has alot of potential.
Great fun for the entire family. Lots to see and do. The kids all loved hand feeding flamingos! The park is very well kept and manicured. We will come back next time we come to Sarasota.
Very neat place! Loved feeding the flamingos.
Nice place to visit. Kid friendly and economical. Flamingo feeding was awesome !
One of Floridas oldest attractions. Feed some flamingos, hold some cool animals and smash some pennies.
This is a cool little zoo. Very pretty and it is very awesome to be able to feed flamingos and pet the goats. There was some flooding so if you go after it rains wear shoes that you can get wet. Part of the zoo was closed which we were not aware of until we came to a blockage on the trail. Not sure what we missed but it took us about an hour to get through the whole zoo. Gift shop is really nice and the staff was very friendly and kind.
We had an awesome time here. My favorite part was getting to feed the flamingoes. Just make sure you bring a lot of quarters lol. Its definitely worth the price of as admission. My wife and I will be coming back here the next time we are in Sarasota.
Great place. Fun feeding the flamingos. The bird shows were fun to watch. The reptile house was pretty dated. A little confused about the nativity scene and the christ gardens.
This place was a fun outing while visiting the area. My seventeen month old loved the animals, and it was a short break from being in the water. However, I would recommend staying away right now due to poor social distancing from other guests. Visitors weren’t required to wear masks in the park, and the vast majority of them weren’t. Personal space didn’t seem to be recognized, paths were still two-way, and the set up in popular areas (such as the check-in counter located immediately in the entryway) seemed to lead people to congregate where we needed to be walking. I was very happy that we arrived first thing so that we could get in and out before it became crowded. Good luck in there.
Was ok. Half of exhibits including petting zoo closed or coming soon not worth the 96 for 4 people
Great place to spend 2 to 3 hours if in the area. Fair price for entrance and all the staff were very friendly. Very entertaining parrot show! Excellent variety of animals and birds to view and up close! The Flamingos are absolutely beautiful!
Honestly loved it! Being from Miami, i used to the “bigger” in size places but this changed my mind. Although small, its has so many things for families to experience. I especially loved the Bird show and Bird “photos”. You could also feed Flamingos which was pretty cool as in Miami, that wasn’t allowed. Sarasota has proven to be a small, but amazing place!
Nice but the animals seem to not have enough nature in their areas. Some seem sad. You can tell they care for them maybe they just need more money to spruce up the animal areas. They have a nice a shop with lots of Florida items. We saw everything within 1 hr.
We went here on a whim. Feeding the flamingos was the best part hands down. I think the price point a little high for what youre getting (we paid almost $50 for 2 adults, 1 child with coupon). Most animal enclosures were unkempt and noticeably dirty. I felt like this was a glorified zoo, but without the concern for the animal welfare you generally see at a zoo. They had a wide variety of birds, which seemed to be in the best shape. I felt bad for the baby alligators that were swimming in dirty water and looked like they had moss or algae growing on them. All the reptiles looked like they were neglected honestly. There were shows advertised, but we never saw any employees on the grounds during our 2 hours there. There was little to no signage altogether. It might be worthwhile for the flamingos, but if you are looking for information about the animals, you wont get a lot here. This place borders on 3 stars for me but bumped to 4 because of how delighted my little was to get so close to the flamingos. If animal welfare is something that upsets you, you might want to skip this place though.
Wonderful place for everyone especially for kinds, many flamingos just walking around and can feed them.
Love this place! Cute little place for the whole family ️
Today i had a great time with my family . I recommend this place for all family Member to visit, you will in Enjoy It 100%
Based on the many other misleading positive reviews, I felt obligated to leave an honest and updated review of Jungle Gardens. We are from out of town, my husband and I took our young son here after reading all of the positive reviews on google. However, had we had the chance to frequent or recommend jungle gardens again, we most certainly would not. The ticket prices for starters are much too high. The exhibits are also poorly maintained and extremely dirty. It’s quite sad actually. During our visit I did not see one employee maintaining or cleaning the cages or exhibits. Also, the exhibits are much too small for the animals. In particular, the crocodile exhibit had a small pool with very little water and no shade and that was its permanent home. In the large turtle exhibit, there was a small pool that was empty with no water. It was just dirty and not well maintained. In the small turtle exhibit, it was very evident that the staff had left decomposing turtles in there. The water fountains and other water areas were overgrown, mossy, and dirty with algae. They had only three show times offered for an entire day. And, the flamingos had clearly been so over fed by the visitors (you can buy flamingo food to share with them) that they were not interested in feeding from the children that were there that afternoon. Overall, we were very saddened for the animals and reptiles at Jungle Gardens and would not return. We hope this honest review encourages the staff at Jungle Gardens to make some much needed changes for the overall well being of the animals and prevents another family from supporting the business to maintain its current state.
What a wonderful local spot have been going for over 50 years and it’s always special.
This place is awesome. They have a small petting zoo for kids, all different kinds of animals around. You have an opportunity to feed the flamingos, which I highly recommend. There’s a bunch of different paths to view some different plants. They hold a couple of different shows so make sure to plan the times you go.
Took my 6 and 7 year old. Great experience! Lots of interesting animals with a very easy walking path throughout. Of course, the gift shop is always a hit with us. It did not disappoint. :)
Beautiful garden. We loved seeing the animals. Would not recommend going mid-day because it was SO HOT.
Wonderful zoo, lush gardens...petting area, can also hold snakes, alligator or lizard for pictures. There is a snack bar . You can hand feed the flamingos. Theres a reptile house and several large alligators.Bird show and can also hold one and get a picture taken . Big play area . Big and little people both enjoyed the zoo in our family. Very clean!!
Perfect Weekend getaway, the Flamingos crushed it all. The park entry is expensive. But besides that it’s totally worth it!!
My favorite place! Zookeepers are always so knowledgeable and happy to share info on the amazing animals! Watch out for the wandering flamingo. He likes to invade the cafe!
Glad I finally visited this little gem. A true story book place with some fantastic animals and beautiful gardens. Admission price is a little bit High just over just around $20 but there is plenty of live entertainment if you go early enough in the day and lots of animal interactions.if youre on a Florida vacation and visiting the Orlando area Id say this is worth of visit to Sarasota to come check out along with the Ringling Museum. It took about 2 hours to fully enjoy this place but I feel it be done in about maybe 90 minutes. The perfect venue for a southern themed wedding.
So much fun. We have been there a bunch of times! Bring quarters to feed the fish and flamingos! Lots of walking. The kids loved it!
Old-school feel to this nature park. All of the animals look healthy and well cared for. An adorable assortment of parrots, cute reptile and mammal show, flamingo feeding was great fun. Cafe staff was friendly and fast. Basic zoo food and some higher end sandwich offerings. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit
Very nice area. Took my grandchildren
Super cute place and interactive hands-on experience! We came for the Easter egg hunt event and loved how the staff were friendly and they kept replenishing the eggs. I hate attending most Easter egg hunt events as usually my little one only gets a few because other kids and parents take the joy out of it and don’t leave any wife the little ones. I liked how they had it separated by ages too! Very well planned out!!
Great time! Feeding the flamingos was so much fun. Holding the baby alligator and feeding everything. Worth it.
Extremely informative and neat place. Definitely recommend taking your kids here. Get to feed flamingo and gators.
Love it the staff great animals are awesome a blast alot of walking
It was amazing the staff was very friendly. Were we got our tickets the guy was very nice and friendly. I will come back and see it again great pictures. Thank you.
We had an amazing time! So many beautiful birds and animals to see! Loved feeding the Flamingos!
Always a great time. UNFORTUNATELY, ABOUT 20% OF THE GUESTS HAD MASKS/FACE COVERING ON. My daughters and I had to leave early- total bummer. We will be back!!
A great little family park to enjoy some animals. The really cool part is feeding flamingos straight from your hand!
Loved it!!! Very nice experience. I loved feeding the Flamingos.
Fun for the whole family! Lots of animals and knowledgeable staff.
Must visit place, and also very family friendly.
I love coming here on Mothers Day. And I get in free.
Wonderful place to meet exotic birds and other animals, stroll through lush gardens, but the best part is feeding the Flamingos
The animals were really neat. Very friendly staff; they have reduced staff due to Covid-19, and the workers who are there are working hard to serve the customers, so be patient with them! Masks are required indoors and near other groups. Most customers were following the rules.
Love going there. Is tolerable with the plants also was not so hot and it was around the hottest time of day. Enjoyed it!!!!
The flamingos are the best part. The staff is very friendly, but this just a small local zoo. They have a TON of different birds, small alligators, a small petting zoo with 2 pigs and a few goats. Its great for smaller children. There arent larger animals, so dont expect that. It is a but pricey if you have a large family.
Very cool place with lots of animals. Its not a huge place, but perfect for an afternoon trip or if youre on a budget and still want to have a good time. I highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our visit. We came on a day it didnt seem very busy. We went to a show and were the only ones there so it was a personalized show. Very nice employees. Loved getting our picture taken with the parrots and really enjoyed feeding the flamingos
Sarasota Jungle Gardens presented the opportunity for a fun family outing. Although fairly well maintained the park appears to have been unchanged since the early 70s. Enclosures are uninspired cages with little comfort given the animal while still keeping the vistor too far for optimal viewing. During my visit in particular many animals were either completely missing or unavailable. Price-wise the jungle Gardens does not break the bank but is a little more than I would care to have paid in retrospect.
What a fun place! Great for families. This gem has become one of our family traditions when visiting Sarasota. Our favorite of course is feeding the Flamingos . They also have Ibis, baby alligators, turtles, Koi fish, and farm animals you can feed.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Its a very beautiful garden! Go there with kids and go by yourself ! You can find there birds, flamingos, turtles and other animals. You can also feed the flamingos! Kids love that! There are shows also there! And Im sure you will love the Garden!
This is s great place to take the kids and enjoy watching flamingos running around. This location allows you to bring in a compact cooler with food and drinks.
