My wife and I love to walk through the gardens and admire all the different plants that are well kept from the volunteers. The home is a great piece of history right in the heart of Santa Rosa.
It is free to walk around the grounds, but the $10 tour was well worth it. The workers and volunteers were very friendly. Tours include the Home with its original furnishings, the Greenhouse, a portion of the Gardens, and a summary of Burbank’s life and achievements. I learned that Luther Burbank was just as important as his friends Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, though he wasn’t as rich as the other because one cannot patent new plants or flowers at that time. He is responsible for Idaho potatoes, Shasta daisies, and California poppies, and much more. The small gift shop is quite good and includes a good variety of seeds.
Very nice gardens and history lesson on Burbanks contributions all in one
The diversity of the decades of work by L. Burbank still visible on the grounds and around the town.
Wonderful 2 or 3 hour stop. So much information and flowers, plants, and stories in small area. Over 800 plants this guy invented. Itnis worth the trip. Mostly free unless you visit the homesm. Daily tours. Audio tour on cell phone is kinda awkward but free and informative. Check out the gift shop for seeds
Beautiful gardens! Had a nice time walking all around. It has many plants and flowers.
In a surprisingly quiet setting during our National Holidays, we enjoyed a lot of different beautiful plants Mr. Burbank experimented here.
The garden is nice to take care of and good staff in case the budget cant afford to go
Manicured grounds with beautiful roses and other plants and trees excellent explanation of what mr. Burbank was achieving. The staff inside the gift shop were extremely helpful and we enjoyed a picnic lunch on there grounds. Thaxs Johnny V.
Lot of history here. Some really interesting and unique varieties in the garden.
Beautiful place inside and out. My family and I went there for an outdoor photo shoot for my pregnancy announcement. The results were amazing! The pictures captured my wonderful family but also the natural beauty surrounding us. You cant go wrong at Luther Burbank Home and Gardens whether it be to take a stroll and marvel at the beauty or for nautral outdoor photo shoots.
Interesting history of plant breeder extraordinaire Luther Burbank, and way of telling it.
Last time I came here was during an elementary school field trip, maybe 25 years ago. Id suggest going in spring when the flowers are blooming, but its definitely quiet and sparsely attended in winter, and the fountain is beautiful.
Relaxing to sit in the shade of trees. While listening to the flow of the water fountain. Beautiful variety of flowers.
It was a bit early for blooms but this is a very nice spot to relax, get away from downtown (though its just a short walk from mall/4th St) and relax.Lots of interesting interpretive signs, info and Im sure its beautiful in June and onward.
The gardens are beautiful. A must see when visiting Santa Rosa. A great spot for practicing and learning photography.
Right down the street from my house, I walk here all the time and it makes me feel very happy and glad to live where I live.
Went to the Christmas open house and enjoyed the tea, cookies, house and winter gardens. Lots of great information and dedicated and passionate volunteers. Learned a lot about him, and think of him every time I eat a russet potato now!
Great historical site for Santa Rosa, make sure you leave a donation if you can.
Interesting place, to stop by and take a walk. And learn a lil something you might not of known prior to doing so. ladies in the gift shop where very nice
An educational experience: a must for anyone with an interest in horticulture.
An historical garden showing unique plants developed and grown by Luther Burbank. The park has easy access from main areas of Santa Rosa. Even in Winter its interesting and intriguing.
Enjoyed a visit here during its Christmas Open House in 2016. The house, greenhouse and carriage house were nicely decorated for the season. Even Santa and Mrs Claus were there. Santa played the guitar, and they both sang Carols. Docents and gift shop personnel were in period costume. The house and grounds are well maintained by a dedicated volunteer group so that it appears as near as possible as it was when the Burbank family lived there. Cookies and hot cider were available in the green house. The grounds were open to the visitors and have notable plants of Burbanks influence. No charge for the open house.
Nice place to chill relax
I love to just wander through. Time after time, I always discover something new and wonderful...
Right in the middle of the town. Easily accessible location. We were happened to be in town for another event at Veterans memorial building and decided to stop by.It was the end of August, so less of the flowers on the ground, but I could imagine it may look very different in spring time with more variety of flowering plants.A beautiful gift store carrying a great selection of garden/plant related items.
This place is such a great place for the greatest American style Big Idaho Potato Truck visiting Luther Burbank Home and Gardens! I was laughing so hard, up until I got up close to the ENORMOUS fiberglass vegetable. So interesting facts aka food for thought lol. First this particular vehicle has an national route of 61 cities in a given year. Secondly, I personally met the first female of an 3 woman team, first time this year. One drives and the other 2 work the crowd at every stop. Thirdly, these potatoes they are promoting is gluten free direct from Idaho! Too fun to see something so different from the every day. Check it out! Only here for a limited time.
A garden oasis right in the middle of a bustling city! A walk through this garden will definitely fix your mood. Stroll through at your own leisure, take a self-guided tour via your cellphone, or sign up for a docent-led tour. Lots of interesting facts about the legendary botanist and his creations dot the garden throughout. I always walk through when Im in the neighborhood!
It was Beautiful and the flower are blooming now .and the Desert Cacktis are real nice thank you and the lady who talk to us was a nice person
Self guided tour of the gardens, the house is amazing!
An interesting part of California history.
Beautiful, well maintained park open to the public for free. Features some of Burbank’s innovative flower and plant breeds. There are several benches and shady spots to sit with a book. What’s not to love?
There is a pound, a house with a tiny museum/souvenir store and a garden with labeled plants. Its a nice stop before or after hitting the wineries that abound around here. Sit in the shade and read stories about a time when gardeners were as famous as technologists.
Lovely place especially in roses blossom season
What a fantastic and well maintained garden. Great for any garden enthusiast. Bigger and more variety than expected.
Soo nice! I lived a half mile from here and there isnt much right now in the winter but i have to say in the summer this place is litski! they have an apple tree with more than 5 different varieties of apple!! also a huuuge spineless cactus. Luther Burbank was a badass!
It beautiful place
A great place to see horticultural history.
I actually didnt go to this place recently but my family lives extremely close and I went there frequently through my youth. I can say it is a beautiful place to go, many locals go there for wedding type photos and Luther Burbank was a fascinating person. You will have to go there if you want to know some of his more famous contemporaries.
The Luther Burbank site is a local gem in Santa Rosa. The gardens are beautiful and laid out for a quiet stroll. The special events are well thought out and manage to handle a lot of people and still preserve an old-time, country feeling. Plus, the grounds are free to visit. In a busy city like Santa Rosa, oasis of calm like this place are a balm to the mind and soul.
We went in a bad season (winter), so all the flowers were sleeping. It looks like a good place in spring!
Lots of lovely plants here. Good for a short walk on a nice-weathered day.
Lots of interesting facts about Luther Burbanks life & his accompishments.
Amazing gardens & feeling at Burbanks personal Home & Garden
The park has easy access from main areas of Santa Rosa.
A beautiful garden. It was a nice walk in between our wine tour.
Pretty cool place lots of plants and really cool plant projects
Love the Kiwi tree abd everything about Luther Burbank !
A real hidden gem in Santa Rosa. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide and learned a lot. It is free to walk in and see the gardens, though they accept donations. Also it is maintained by volunteers which is amazing!
Free, beautiful and peaceful. Not too large, but right downtown. Definitely worth 20 - 30 minutes!
Was better needs help! roses use to be very nice - NOT NO MORE!
Its cute and priced well for rentals
Beautiful place! If you enjoy flowers, plants, nature and being outdoors, this is the place for you. You can sit on a bench and read a book or just walk around the gardens.
Beautiful plants you dont see anywhere else usually
Loved it and the docents were fun, knowledgeable and brought his story to life. Gorgeous gardens and educational exhibits
Very lovely section of Santa Rosa amazing and beautiful roses a peaceful place not any trouble really here everyone seemed to be quite friendly and nice in the area its a beautiful walk in a wonderful place to stop if youre ever passing through Santa Rosa or if youre native Im sure you know how wonderful it is to sit there next to the Roses reading your favorite book
Natural peace and harmony; beautiful gardens forming an amazing experience. Many thanks to all the flowers, trees and sentient beings that make it possible... #LetsGuide #LocalGuides @lutherburbank
I enjoyed my visit very much I was there in 1961 on my honeymoon and the gardens are beautiful its just a wonderful tribute to your town to have such a pleasant place for people to be able to go . we had a wonderful tour guide a little tiny lady that was so helpful or so information informative thoroughly enjoyed her I would like to visit again
Super interesting agricultural history and a nice garden walk area as well. We did the tour and enjoyed it as well.
A quiet, pretty place to walk through and enjoy unique plants.
It is beautiful and quiet. We have lunch there everyday when the weather is good.
Beautiful garden very close to City Hall, well worth visiting
So peaceful and relaxing. What love this man had for the earth and for his wife to follow thru as she did. I truly hope there are good people left on this earth to go forward with love and compassion because in our politics there are no people that thinks beyond themselves, no matter what party.
I had an incredible time visiting the gardens took lots of photos also walk the neighborhood and seen the beautiful landscape
Enjoyed visiting there. Wasnt able to take the tour because it was 45 minutes long. The house is among other houses and they all have their yards full of flowers or vegetable gardens. No parking lot but parking along the street. Nice gift shop.
Beautiful gardens and great history of Luther Burbank himself. Definitely nice to walk around on a nice summer day to learn about all the different types of plants there. Directly across the street is Juliard Park where theres events held and also just a nice walk around the park. If youre looking fro breakfast brunch or lunch, I recommend Dierks Parkside Cafe without a doubt. Cheers!
Was a beautiful experience with such lovely roses and interesting plants, loved going into home...was wonderful to have ladies to answer questions...very nice excursion!!!⚘
This was his home not his farm.we will go to the gardens soon.the home was adorable.it is run by the city so the grounds arent great but whatever
A nice little park. A good tribute to Luther Burbank and all the varieties he developed.
Every holiday my daughter and I love to take stroll and we always find ourselves at Luther Burbank gardens. We love the waterfall and variety of flowers. If you havent been, take an hour out of your busy schedule and take a tour.
Not very well maintained. It was closed.
Beautiful gardens, serene setting, peaceful shop and atmosphere.
Beautiful place to hangout and walk because there is so many things to look at and explore.
Nice little park with guided tours and audio tour via cell phone.
Went for a walk with my kids and wife, very nice place to go and enjoy with family or by yourself if youre looking for a relaxing quiet place.
Daily tours, available parking, bicycle provisions, great location and over all nice environment!
Gardeners like myself can learn more about an important horticultural genius whose work still feeds us today. The home is a fascinating look into life a hundred years ago. A walk through the gardens is free and informative. A docent tour of home, gardens, and greenhouse is $10 person. The only drawback is the outhouse which draws the homeless and so some garden areas reek of wastes.
Very peaceful, informative, ang nicely arranged gardens
One of the best gardens parks to go for lunch .
It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very informative on the various plant life in the garden.
Beautiful and relaxing Garden. A serene Island in the middle of a busy City.
Really beautiful and a great learning experience!
Luther Burbank gardens is beautiful! Luther Burbank was a very intelligent man.
Interesting. Before moving here I had no idea about Luther Burbank. He used to hang around with Edison and the other big giant brains of the time. He came up with many varieties of plants and hybrids that we use today for food and also for flowers pretty cool stuff. His garden is most impressive
This is a lovely garden and house of Luther Burbank, beautiful to see and visit in a summery day. We went when the house was closed and there were no tours (Labor day) but it was still worth it. The plants are beautiful and the different areas are explained clearly by signs and posts.I took lots of pictures!
Love the gardens but they could use some additional support to make even better.
Wonderful historical site. You must visit this place to understand the tremendously significant contributions to agriculture and botany that Luther Burbank made.
Beautiful gardens! Gift shop was lovely, did not have time for a tour but just wandering around the park was lovely :)
This guys work is awesome!
Full of botanical wonders and information. Educate children with historical facts of Mr. Luther Burbank and his passion. Many botanical experiments are named after him. On the federal historical landmark list and protection. A proud Santa Rosa landmark.
Interesting. Not all trees, plants identified.
If you are staying at the hilton or marriott along Santa Rosa Creek, this is a beautiful stop along the creek trail. Small and exceptional, the grounds are covered with beautiful blooms. During late Spring thru Summer, the roses are amazing. There is a park across the street, along the creek trail, that has a splash pad that will delight (and cool off) little ones
Lovely site. Interesting history. Unfortunately only grounds are open this time of year.
