This was our favorite stop in Santa Fe. The art is incredible - we could have stayed much longer than the 30 minutes we spent there taking it in. And Lisa was so hospitable - she was a joy to talk to and clearly very knowledgable and passionate about the art. It was a treat in every way to visit Longworth - even our pup, Maisel, loved it.
This is an outstanding gallery with a lot of great art from various artists. You really need to go there to see the amazing art work and to speak with the wonderful and beautiful lady that works there. She is very helpful, intelligent, and interesting in a very captivating way.
Lisa, the owner was like an art fairy! From the second she came out to talk to us, her presence and passion were felt. She is an amazing woman that made the art experience one to remember! Hands down a highlight of my trip! I will forever have a better appreciation for art thanks to her!
Absolutely stunning! Miss Lisa is a Master at her Craft! Ask her to show you the Universe from the eyes of Hubble and the hand of Debra Lynn: Astounding!Thank you, Miss Lisa, for an absolutely delightful tour! Cheers!
A beautiful gallery, exquisitely curated. Allow plenty of time to see it all—or better yet, plan on stopping in multiple times!
The Longworth Gallery is the most unique art gallery I have ever experienced. The extraordinary gallery space and its central courtyard are works of art in themselves. After being greeted by the lovely, gracious and incredibly knowledgeable gallery owner, one is exposed to an astonishing art extravaganza called Metaphorical Realism. Around every corner there is something new that inspires wonder, thought, introspection and imagination. The offerings include two dimensional art, sculpture, jewelry, furniture, kaleidescopes, hand painted silk lighted sculptures and wall sconcesand each of these different mediums express the gallerys vision of Metaphorical Realism. Although, to my mind, sometimes what I experience there is more like magic!
Some of the greatest art, and artists in town. Amazing staff as well.
Lisa has a wonderful gallery. I loved the light sculptures.
Absolutely amazing gallery, Lisa is a blast of art energy.Strongly recommend a visit
I’d like to warn other Black people and those who identify as anti-racist planning to visit this space. My partner and I visited this gallery as a first stop on Canyon Road. When we entered the space, we were greeted warmly, however, there was something over-compensating about the personality of person overseeing the space. I usually ask how people are doing, and that response was the first flag. She said something to the effect of being marvelous and her husband knowing when she wasn’t happy. As I was browsing and taking it all in, I came across a cool and interestingly designed kaleidoscope. I thought other people in my life have to see this. As most people in the smart phone age do, I whipped out my phone. Also, there were people outside snapping pics. The overseer, with an aggressive judgmental tone spews out “ No pictures, that’s theft, there’s a big sign.” As a result of this exhibit of control and dominance, and not to mention, the implication of stealing. Startled, I respond calmly, “I didn’t see the sign.” She then states, quite snarky, “delete.” At this point my awareness is raised and the condescension is thick. My partner walks in, who is also a black woman, is approached and is aggressively told, “ since you have your cell phone out, maybe you didn’t see the sign too.” My partner respond, “I saw the sign, I’m taking notes.” I also respond, “Actually we’re two different people.” Instinctively, I was completely turned off by this whole experience. More importantly, this was a familiar feeling, and a clear exampleof a person behaving with racial bias. I wonder if we were white would she have spoken to us so aggressively, so accusatory, so careless with her anger. Would she have felt the need to imply I was stealing, and would she had assumed that me and my partner were the same person having the same experience. I. Think. Not. Overall, this experience filled my belly with rage, and it colored my whole experience of the art in that space, which now includes interpersonal racism. I know she could have done better, taken more breathes before she spoke, been more conscious of her impact as a white woman needing to control us.
Wonderful art!!! Knowledge, personable owner! Maybe the best gallery in Santa Fe. Highly recommend a stop.
My favorite gallery in Santa Fe. Take the time to read the stories/explanations about Vladimir Kush’s paintings and to enjoy the kaleidoscopes.
Lisa Rogers was a concierge when we visited the location. She gave us a history of mini the pictures and paintings and showed us where the descriptions were. She spent significant time going over the kaleidoscopes in some of the history of the painters. Its the only magical and mystical gallery on Canyon Road. Lisa has a great sense of humor and will spend significant time with you if you want more details.
Beautiful gallery-favorite in Santa Fe!!!! Lisa, the owner very personable, knowledgeable about artists, art. She has a huge variety of art- one for all tastes. Its worth stopping by-you will not he disappointed. We purchased a kaleidoscope, one of a kind piece of art. Looking forward to a visit again soon!
If you only have time to see one gallery on canyon road, this is the one you should see.
The gallery owner Lisa is worth a visit all on her own. The fact she has an amazing collection of art is the icing on the cake. I never thought that Metaphorical Realism was my cup of tea but if you keep an open mind I guarantee you will walk away more enlightened that when you came in. Definitely worth a visit!
This Gallery is a stunning experience!! The artwork is incredible
Beautiful art,The owner is very nice.
The art work in this gallery is fantastic.
Lisa is amazing! Helps “regular folks” understand more about Vladimir Kush and his amazing work. She’s very personable and down-to-earth...it’s always a treat to spend time with her.
While visiting this gallery today, we were so impressed with Vladimir Kush’s work. My husband got his phone out and googled Kush to get more info on him. As he is doing this, the woman working there ran up behind us and very rudely demanded to know what we were doing. When my husband showed her his phone and explained himself, she demanded that he get off of his phone and look at the painting in front of him instead. We were very shocked to be spoken to in this manner. We left immediately without seeing the rest of the rooms as we felt uncomfortable after this situation.I know he was doing nothing wrong, and even after explaining himself, she was still extremely rude. Such a shame, because we were really enjoying our visit.
Cool stuff to look at - great kaleidoscopes!
Lisa is amazing and fun. She is a wealth of knowledge about her artists and their work.
