My trip to Santa Fe at the end of April was a refreshing and surprising treat. Being in Santa Fe for the first time ever, we were given a detailed and historic tour of the area by The Barefoot Gallerista, owner of Hat Ranch Gallery. The gallery was the highlight of the trip and is definitely an authentic and very personal and intimate experience. If you love art and want to experience it in a very different way, you must make a trip to Hat Ranch Gallery! About 15 minutes south of Santa Fe, off The Turquoise Trail highway, this gallery is owned, operated, designed, and curated by Sara West, aka The Barefoot Gallerista, the best host and tour guide you can find.Sara represents many amazing artists, showing some older work from the 60s and 70s, along with these artists new works, giving you an amazing look into their differing styles, media and talent.Along with the beautiful art, Sara makes some of the best food and drinks served this side of the Mississippi! I highly recommend making the time to experience Hat Ranch Gallery next time you are in Santa Fe.
Beautiful location for a wonderful art gallery. For anyone who would like to experience an unique, out of the center of Santa Fe art experience, you should visit Hat Ranch Gallery. It is an excellent stop if you are spending a day traveling to Cerrillos and/or Madrid, Don’t miss a stop in at Hat Ranch Gallery on your way out, or on your return to Santa Fe. The gallery is an easy drive outside of downtown Santa Fe, and when you arrive the gallery is within a beautiful traditional Adobe house, and the gallery owner will greet you with Wonderful hospitality. You may even be served one of her excellent fresh margaritas. A great experience while in the Santa Fe area.
I stumbled upon this place while driving down The Turquoise Trail (NM 14) on the way to the galleries in Madrid, and was sure glad I did. Take the road less travelled!I was greeted by the lovely and gracious Sara West, the gallery owner, and felt Id entered another world, a more beautiful one. It felt just like a very fine art museum in a major area -- the art was that good! Both abstract and representational, traditional and modern, sculptures, prints, paintings, it was all there, curated with a sharp eye and a loving touch. I cant say enough good things about this find, its worth the trip from anywhere. There are a few pieces I really like; the hardest part is going to be picking one! But visiting will be a pleasure, always. Five Stars for sure, Id give it 10 if I could. Nice work, Ms. West.
Hat Ranch Gallery is thoroughly charming, as is its owner, Sara West, aka The Barefoot Gallerista. Such a classic and special New Mexico gallery experience, as its in Saras home, filled with warmth, hospitality and thoroughly unique pieces of art. Its mid way between Santa Fe and Madrid and its a fun stop along the Turquoise Trail or as an out of the ordinary destination.
