A very lovely family experience with a very old-school feel. Just wish they were open later and on other days other than the weekend for winter hours. This place was swarming with people that wanted to continue their fun after 5pm on a Saturday. So...a business suggestion, make that money by staying open. It will work.
The best spot for a family outing and to enjoy fun in the sun. Summers get packed and Winters give the ambience of Holiday cravings. The food is your casual theme park food - candy, hot dogs and specialty items...plus much much more. Summer settings has movies on the beach and long romantic walks with your loved one. Bring the family and make your memory footprint here at The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk!!
It’s a great place to spend the day with the family. There is something for everyone to do. Parking is hard to find and the lots have long lines so get there early. The price for food and drinks is moderate. Will recommend to buy the season pass for kids since they get unlimited rides every time you visit. Other activities are included like movie nights and concerts so plan accordingly.
A great way to spend a day in Santa Cruz. We didn’t ride any rides, but we were plenty happy watching people riding rides. The people watching is excellent. So is the funnel cake - highly recommended. We had such a good time. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Santa Cruz.
I took my family of 5 (3 young kids) to enjoy the Santa Cruz Boardwalk in between Christmas and New Years. It was an excellent time to visit. The Boardwalk did not have all the attractions open, but definitely enough for the family to enjoy the venue. We played some of the games and rode rides. Then took our shoes off and walked the beach. Parking was easy. The Boardwalk parking lot was $10 for a the full day, but we parked off the street in a metered stall for less. Wasnt too crowded. Staff was friendly.
Good place to bring the kids and family. Rides and carnival style food throughout the boardwalk. Some nights they have specials so make sure you check the calendar for special events. While you are there did I mention there is a beach? Enjoy a day at the beach and then slide over to the boardwalk to enjoy the rides or games. Also, you can buy local craft beer from some of the vendors. Definitely worth coming by to check out this place.
Came here in August for one of their summer concert series. We stayed before the concert to enjoy the beach and at night to enjoy the rides. The kids had a blast.
Although it was closed today it was a pretty nice day there. Arcade was open and a few shops. Youd think Friday night it would be open. Unfortunately nope. During the fall and winter its only open on the weekends. But it was a nice walk on the boardwalk
Amazing place. I really enjoyed the experience. It is located just a few meters from the Ocean. You can also buy a lot of variety of food and the also have a lot of games a rides. They also have a lot of rides for kids, so if you have kids its the perfect place to take them. People is really friendly and kind. Just make sure you dont go on rush ours. It gets really crowded.
Love this place! So many classic nods to the history of the boardwalk - definitely a wonderful place to check out. I went right before the holidays so it was busy, but it didn’t feel touristy, which was great. This is a must see when you’re in Santa Cruz!
Fun place. Lots to do. Exciting family entertainment area. Spend $$ or just go to the beach. Beach sand is soft but waves are highIts a rip current area so watch out. Dont let little ones beyond arms length. Pretty clean for all the crowds on and off beach. Lots of food options and souvenir shopping too. Worth the drive from SFran. Just get there early for lots of time to hang out.
Boardwalk is a fun place to take friends and family. ALL the rides are so existing and the food are so yummy! I recommend the garlic fries! If you are a garlic lover. Oh and I almost forgot to say that its also next to the beach.
The best boardwalk that I’ve ever seen. It is right next to the beach. They have new rides but our old time favorite is giant deeper. Every summer there are some live bands and people are partying and having a good time.
Nice place for toddler to old people . With lot of amusement and good court with beach attached it is really a fun place . As you step in big braid garage train shuttles up down, a regular engine on a amusement park . There are several rides and many food stalls. My grand daughter dis carousel for first time and made me to do another 2 time. It was really a fun. You have the beach and the utility staff doing the great job to ensure it is litter free. As you go back from beach as you enter into the steps they have kept a tap so that you can way off your sands. A good thought .on the whole nice place for a weekend or a holiday
So much fun. $40 for unlimited rides. Short lines. Very clean. Security everywhere, so it feels super safe. The beach is epic. Can even hear the sea lions begging for food. Great place to visit, just good luck finding a nice hotel, just about everything in Santa Cruz is old and run down.
The best beach amusement park. Tons of games and food. Great for the whole family. Fun all year round. I definitely recommend it. Parking could be better though.
What a great place to hang out solo, with a date, or with your Family. There are food vendors, and games from end to end, so you are sure to find something that you like. Dont forget to grab a map, it will help you find your way around to park, find restrooms, and rides. You can also bring your own food and drinks as well.
A fun place to take a stroll, enjoy a few rides, play some games, eat, and/or people watch. You can do all of that with an added sea breeze, which is nice. Street parking is limited, and I noticed they dont accept debit/credit cards. Bring your coins. There are parking lots that charge a flat rate...$15 on the day I visited.
This is one of the best places to bring young kids during 5he hit summer time. Most of the rides are family friendly, not too exciting for adults. Bring in your canopy and chairs, then you could sit relaxing under the sun, while watching kids playing in the beach.Fast foods are the only choices in the Boardwalk. You could walk to the near by wharf and try the much more delicious restaurants there. Do not forget the live concert on the beach during summer Friday night.
Boardwalk itself is great. Love the fireball and dipper. However prices are pretty extortionate and if your going to visit more than twice its worth getting a season pass. Also queues are massive especially on weekends. Also Wednesday film nights are good. Saw Jurassic park on the beach, was great and well organised however incredibly busy so my tip is to get there early and bring something to sit on.
Lots of rides and fast food on the boardwalk. Beach is nice and bike rentals are available for a slow cruise down the Boardwalk. This is also the spot to catch the train tour through the Redwood Forest. If you visit make plans to spend the entire day. Plenty of paid parking in the nearby area.
Enjoyed a perfect Spring weather day at the boardwalk. The rides were not open and not as many people. We walked on the beach and on the boardwalk. Ended up having some garlic fries which are really popular here. Had a good time.
Santa Cruz is amazing, walking here is like been on rocket power. Everybody on the streets skateboarding, cycling, smiling. The board walk with lots of rides, video games, a mini golf. On weekends they do beach soccer tournaments. Totally a place to have fun with the family. Enjoy
Always love coming here over the weekend, fun games, beautiful views, sometimes they have concerts too. Wish there are some healthier food options but oh well the corn dogs and big turkey legs will do for a quick meal. Can bring your own food to go picnic there too.
Extremely packed with people during the day. Exciting and lively amusement park. A great place to go as family. Enjoy the walking along beach. Remember your sunscreen!
The walk is bubbling with people and energy. The Santa Cruz beach is scenic. With games across the walks and all eateries one could find for, one is sure to have a great time here.
Santa Cruz holds a special place in my heart - the beach is clean but the water is ice cold. At most I was able to dip a few toes in but nothing more. The pier has fine shopping and dining options for a tourist attraction. I love laying out at this beach and enjoying the warm sun and cool breeze - it’s a great spot for a day trip if you live in the area.
For being the oldest west coast amusement park in history this place is amazing. This has to be the only free attraction in the United States to just walk into without admission price.Take yourself, bring your family, fall in love with the west coast. Santa Cruz Boardwalk should be on your bucket list
A fun way to spend an afternoon, a few dining places amusement rides and a huge arcade oh and shopping. Food vendors are a bit pricey but its part of the experience, 8 hour public parking next to Scott Kennedy Field runs about $10.00.
Excellent, and fun place for everyone, especially children. Established in 1907, and now 112 yrs old my parents started taking me before the boardwalk was even 50 years old. My children grew up visiting, and now my grandchildren are loving Santa Cruz and its Boardwalk! Its a must visit when in Northern California, everyone loves Santa Cruz, there is something for everyone!
Amazing place to spend a summer day. Theres so much to do here - spend time on the beach making sand castles or playing beach volleyball, ride the various rides on the boardwalk, enjoy the delicious eatables available here or spend time at the arcade.
It is an amazing place to spend great evening. It is recognized as the best seaside park all over the world.A lot of tourists visit this place every year with family as well as solo travellers. There are various games along side the beach where children can have fun. In addition, there are food outlets too, which serve delicious food and nice drinks.Best time to go there is in summers and in the evening. Sometimes there are musical concerts organised at the beach.Amazing place with amazing view.
Nice view, a very touristic landmark since known for some Hollywood blockbuster that have been filmed here. A great place to spend the weekend with the family since it has several restaurants, carnival theme games, and rides for all ages. The view to the ocean and pier are a plus.
Had a great time with the kids If you are not going to enjoy at least 6-8 rides you are better off paying as you go (Rides cost approx $4 - $7 per ride). I wish even though half of us didnt get our monies worth on the wristbands that we purchased season passes. We were short on time that visit but we sure would have came back over the summer had we taken that option.
Great destination. Beach, rides and fast food. Workers are very helpful. Rides for all ages. Cant think of anything else in California that comes close, maybe the much smaller Belmont park in San Diego.
A little while ago, I was visiting my wife’s relatives in San Jose with my family and my daughter wanted to go to the beach. We went to the boardwalk area only to find everything closed; which was not such a bad thing, as it turned out. There weren’t very many people there which was kinda nice.My kids had a blast in the water, and I had a blast combing the beach for driftwood. Lots of beautiful pieces, but I couldn’t bring back any.Oh well! Reason to visit again
This is one if the best boardwalks in California on the beautiful Santa Cruz beach. The vendors are plenty and there are quite number of rides. As it is most popular with the tourists, it could get busy during summer months or weekends. Everything costs little bit more here and parking could be a challenge. The access to the beach is easy just few steps away from the boardwalk. The view during sunset is quite nice.
My grandson really likes the Boardwalk. The people working there are really nice and friendly. If you havent been yet, go have a fun day. Play in the ocean then go on some rides. Plenty of tasty food and drinks. Its a fun place with good srvice.
Park is well maintained very clean and safe. Crowds can be large sometimes, park is patrolled by law enforcement making park safe. Beach area is ample and safe. Temperature is always on the cool side might need a light body at night. Prices are reasonable and you are allowed to bring food inside park. Parking is not the best if you arrive before 10 you can find parking close by. If you arrive in the afternoon good luck parking becomes a nightmare.
This place is so much fun and would recommend to anyone who wants a cheap vacation or date spot. We went during retro night (Monday or Tuesday after 5pm) which means that every ride is only $1.50 per person, also all Coke products were cheaper also. Usually the rides are around $4 - $8 per person per ride. They have a ton of different rides, roller coasters and midway games to play. If you would like to take a break there are a ton of access points to a very beautiful beach.
It is fun place! Better come arround 3PM or it is a bit cold late afternoon.
Really nice during summer but if you go any other time of the year make sure to bring a jacket. Great for taking pictures and theres arcades there as well. Hoodies tend to be expensive but if you are interested, when there are discounts, it costs around $30-$35 but regular price will usually be around $40 or $50. Food is kind of pricey but there are definitely different kinds (go for the deep fried peanut butter jelly sandwich)!
Lots to do at Santa Cruz Boardwalk from indoor activities like bowling, arcade games, haunted house, etc. to outdoor activities like the theme park rides, volleyball on the beach, and much more. Trying to park midday took us over an hour to find parking as many lots were closed and we didnt know that until we got to the lot entrance after waiting in a long line of cars. I recommend parking at 56 Chestnut Street parking lot, it is $5 for all day parking and about a 10 min walk to the boardwalk.
Absolutely LOVE coming here! Grew up here and love bringing my family. It is family friendly, there are a bunch of learning experiences with the ocean life under the ward and a great selection of foods! The rides are fun, the shops are great, the salt water Taffy is amazing and a perfect souvenir!
Great place to come with the family. $15 for all day parking or metered parking is $1.50 per hour, but quarters only. A lot of fun to bring the kids and let them roam around and eat food from many of the stands and restaurants, or to have your own little picnic at the beach! A definite spot to hit if youre in town or even just passing through!
I have had some of the best times here! My parents took us often, I took my kids and now my kids are taking my Grandchildren. Three generations of growing up & going to SC Beach Boardwalk, to this day it is one of my favorite places to go. Great summer beach movies, concerts and awesome rides! FYI Seabright Beach a bit less crowded, Boardwalk a hop, skip and a jump from Seabright. Hope you enjoy your time there as much as I have!
This is a good little family beach and such a fun place to visit. I went on a beautiful clear day and was able to enjoy the many attractions on the boardwalk. The holiday set up was beautiful and there was an ice rink, and plenty of photo opportunities!
Really fun place to go with friends or on a date! Free admission is nice but rides are expensive. Bathrooms are few and crowded and dirty. Beach access is convenient. I’ve never had the food here. It makes for a fun day trip! I always go here at least a few times every summer :)
Absolutely beautiful!! Perfect weather this time of year. They have rides for the children and young adults, ice cream, churros, roit beer floats, hot dogs, plenty of place to sit and watch the sunset or sunrise. Great place to being the grandkids. Overall relaxing night!
Happy Easter! Came here to celebrate Easter with my family, great rides and great food I would definitely recommend coming here if you havent youll have many fun times swimming and surfing on the beach or riding all the great rides like the big dipper and double shot. Just as a side note bring comfortable shoes and sandals because you will walk alot and if you want to sit down and still have fun you have sit and look at the wonderful view on the gondolas. You will definitely want to return with your families and friends because its a great experience.
Such a cool place to hang out with my teens. Feels so uplifting and fun!
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is located on Santa cruz beach, along monterey bay. It was built in 1907 and is one of the oldest existing amusement parks in the United States.I very like it.
Best runaway location! The best place for paradise. I would suggest it to anyone that love animals! If you dont know what I mean, theres a secret spot.
Love this place. Amazing for taking a break from the world, or fun with the family.
This was the first official romantic getaway that my husband and I have ever had in our 17 years together. It was so wonderful!!!
I have come here several times on vacation and I love it! You can spend an entire day here! There is the beach and the fun rides on the boardwalk! I would definitely recommend this place. It is fun and great for all ages.
Great experience.. the beach. to the food on the wharf. And awesome rides
It was a beautiful day out with my family!!
My husband and I have been here a few times and we love it! We have always had the best time. The weather is always amazing, the food is great, and the beer is cold. The roller coaster is so cool! It is old so when you first get on it its a little freaky, but it is solid and it is super fun.
This is one of my dream place. I really wanted to be there and I got one of my bucket list kick out. This place has awesome scene and you can enjoy many amusement things over here. You will not regret at all being at this place with your friends and family.
Interesting to visit. Definitely one of the best features of Santa Cruz.
An unexpectedly fun time. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time here, discovering all this place has to offer. I was concerned this place would be mainly catered to kids, but it had something to offer for all ages. Even had my first caramel apple here! We cant wait to go back again - just be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen!Overall, a very fun time.
First time and it wont be my last.. It was worth the 3.5 hr drive .. The beach is beautiful and the scene is priceless
Santa Cruz is so much fun. Ive been coming since I was a kid and its still the same feeling
Very cool place! Fun seeing the seals and the surfers. Amazing big ocean waves. Was very busy on Christmas Day so be ready to navigate through many people walking and biking.
I visited in October which is probably the off season for this venue. The water is chilly but there is enough sun that it is nice to be on the beach, some people had on swim suits. The boardwalk has some rides including a roller coaster and fair food like funnel cake and cotton candy. The beach was fairly clean. I walked here but parking looked to be pretty sparse and towing is enforced.
A bit of nostalgia.Been going since the mid 70s and dont see myself stopping. I use to bring my daughter here when she was young too.I go for the Boardwalk and the surfing but this time it was for the Brews and Bites. Great local beers paired with food from the vendors on the boardwalk. We played some old school arcade games, Mrs Pac Man and Donkey Kong, some Ski Ball. We went on a few rides and just enjoyed the beautiful day.If you havent been or havent been in a while, go back and have a good time.
Excellent place for a great walk and great vistas. Good restaurants to visit. Lots of fun things to do. Lots of seals to look at.
I chose the unlimited ride wristband, which i almost never splurge on, anywhere. It was well worth it! Had a blast! Also, the haunted attraction costs $7, but it was well worth that also!
Incredible place!!! So much to do and see. Theres something for everyone. A must see again because once isnt enough.
Always have a great time with your family here. Affordable, safe family fun! The weather is perfect.
Get place to take kids, teens, and adults. Lines for rides are at times long but go by fast. You can enjoy the beach thats right there. The place for the most part is clean, they have a lot of staff and some security guards.
It great place. There is a train which takes to forest but it’s a one day stay. It’s definitely worth it. The tickets can be bought through the counter in broad walk.
I spent many summers here as a kid. Its different now, but I still enjoyed the visit. Carnival food, Turkey legs, corn dogs, frozen bananas. So bad for the body, but good for the soul. Thanks for the memories.
The Santa Cruz Boardwalk was a great experience. Me and my family went in June and the weather was fantastic. The location was amazing all the rides were right next to the beach. The one thing you must know is that the rides are really expensive to ride. For example the big wooden roller coaster in the middle of the board walk cost 7 points to ride(Each point cost 1 real US dollar). They have a wrist band option that allows you to ride all the rides as many times as you want for 40 US dollars. I would say that most of the rides cost about 5 points to ride, so come prepared to fork out some big bucks. On a different note, the beach is literally just steps away from the boardwalk, and it is really pretty to see the waves as you ride the coasters. The pictures you see of the beach were taken standing on the boardwalk looking out.
Great fun family day. The kids had a blast on all the rides and enjoyed some fun on the beach. We even saw a seal with her baby across the stream. Would highly recommend!
Good times as always. Lot of fun at the pier, on the boardwalk, at the arcade. The downside is it is starting to look really trashy due to all the homeless hanging out around the Boardwalk. I mean I know they can be there at the public place and everything, but they were like stringing up blankets and they look like they pretty much lived there all the time except for the night when the security guards kick them out. Feels really trashy during the day though while theyre all just hanging out.
Fun way to entertain the kids for a day. Unless you don’t mind emptying the remainder of your wallet, bring some food or hit one of the restaurants across the street. Check the website for special events and concerts.
It was an exciting evening by the seaside at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, an oceanfront amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. The view by the seaside is amazing and so are all the fun rides and games. There are some really good food options too.Theres something for every age groups but of course the kids loved it the most!It can get windy and a bit cold so keep jacket /coat handy.Discount Tip: If you drink Coke, keep the empty Cola cans. We got really cheap tickets in exchange for our emty Cocoa Cola cans.
Spending the day at Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk was absolutely awesome. The wristband deal is a great price to get on all the rides and not have to worry about getting individual tickets. When it came time for snacks and food I really appreciate it all the alternate healthier choices available. We love the old-fashioned wooden roller coaster. Definitely a great option for family fun or a date on a sunny day at the coast. Just a note we ended up there on a cooler day and still had fun with our coats and hats on.
Such a cool historic beach and amusement park. Beware: the big ripper is no joke!! This coaster actually did something for me, and ive been to six flags parks, kingda ka, e.t.c. It plunges you into darkness super fast and then proceeds to slam and beat your sorry butt up the entire next minute or two of your life! Not gonna lie, it was fun. Collect shells on the beach and check out all the other attractions on this whimsical beach park
The boardwalk is beautiful and well taken care of. The games are entertaining. The bands on the beach are amazing!! But the real part that makes this place so amazing is the security! They are very alert amd aware of things going on in the park, but also they are not jerks!! They are friendly and talk with you. They smile and treat everyone with respect. My favorite is when one security guard, guarding the walkway on the side of the stage, kept grabbing the beach ball for a child and throwing it back to him. I love the atmosphere. :)
Havent been here for 40 years since I was a little kid. Nice to see that its still popular with the thrill rides, kiddie rides, food concessions and boardwalk games and arcades. We arrived at 830am on Saturday and thought wed be the first ones here, but there were tons of people already. GET HERE EARLY as traffic builds up and parking is limited. The Boardwalk was packed at 12 noon and the beach was loaded! Great times and so glad I came back after so long. Definitely kid friendly so bring the whole family!
Even as a local, this place is always a good time! We come here with family from out of state to enjoy the sea air, and warm sun. During the off season we enjoy coming to play mini-golf when it’s not as crowded. The arcade is great, and as an adult it’s always fun to have a beer and play Mario Kart, just saying. We always love to see the antique and vintage games as well, so few places have them anymore!
I always thought I loved Santa Monica, until I visited Santa Cruz. My life has been a lie. Santa Cruz is so much better than Santa Monica. I absolutely loved it here and I cant wait until I get to go back.
Love to walk around here in the morning when everything is still closed. Feels like an abandoned amusement park. Equally great to walk around when everything is fully operational and there is a lively crowd.
Good fun place to visit, its a game casino, they have stores and restaurants, they sell alcohol beverages, they have pool tables, allot of rides for All ages and the beach is right there.
The garlic fries are amazing! Its a nice little place to go on for a date
This is every child’s dream place and yes adults too. We made a quick stop here after leaving San Francisco on a road trip to LA. The gaming section is huge with various machines to play on. Then the outdoor rides are so inviting- pity they were closed when we got there
For being an old boardwalk amusement park, whoever owns it knows what theyre doing and is preserving the history while still maintaining the park by updating it, and keeping it clean and looking fresh. The weather there is great - if youre not as interested in the beach aspect as the boardwalk, Id go towards the end of summer. Its really fun to be on the boardwalk at night because its finally cooled down and the lights come on.
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, located at 400 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060, EUA, is a traditional park of entertainment, a classic seaside amusement park. Founded in 1907, it is Califonias oldest surviving amusement park and one of the few seaside parks on the West Coast of the USA.The admission-free attraction features thrill rides like the famous Giant Dipper roller. The 1924 Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster still thrills riders with its hair-raising dips and turns and the Looff Carousels unique ring toss provides a surprising challenge. This park is the best option for the entire familys entertainment that are near at the City of Santa Cruz, or around the bay area. If you are in doubt, dont hesitate. Just Go! I recomend
Boardwalk is something that you just must experience when you are in Santa Cruz. Theres something to do for every age me and my wife enjoyed sky glider for the great views. 35 attractions, 3 roller coasters and 1 water ride.
Super fun place! 41$ for all day pass though! Recommended to all people! Had a fun time. Take breaks in between rides though because at night youll feel like youre on a ride haha. The double shot was absolutely scary, I felt my heart leave my body. Other than that- you should go!
Great place to spend time with family and friends. Its never a dull time... With so many activities happening.
Fun tourist place to visit. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is an iconic California site. There are roller coasters, haunted house, arcades, food - all with a view of the beach. Its a gorgeous setting. In the winter, they have ice skating and most of the roller coasters and food stands are closed. In the summer and up until the early fall, everything is running. Definitely a must see attraction
I love Santa Cruz . Beautiful beaches, cafes, happy people ️
What a beautiful day. Wonderful walk. Enjoyed the wharf and sea lions and the lighthouse.
Never ever too old to come here and have a great day at this classic Boardwalk on the Pacific Ocean.Took some friends here for the first time and it was one of my best days ever. Love the Big Dipper roller coaster and the funnel cakes. Love being at the ocean. Now Im going back in December for my birthday to ice skate at the winter only ice skating rink on the Ocean!! I cant wait!!
My absolute favorite beach to visit! It is very family oriented there is a lot of shops around and on the boardwalk a good amount of games/rides on the boardwalk as well. The beach is very clean and they provide rinse stations near the stairs of the boardwalk which is convinent. There is full day parking for about $15 per day which is very close to the boardwalk all in all its a great place to visit.
Nice place for a stroll. Loved it at sunset time :)
