Awesome hiking trail! Very family friendly and not difficult at all. I hiked it with my 8 year old son and we had a blast. It wasnt a hot day, and we started around 3:45pm this week of May, but there are plenty of shaded areas to take breaks and enjoy the scenery. We followed the left trail all the way back for a bit over a mile and a half and found the creek and little waterfall. The bigger waterfall in the back takes a tiny bit of climbing to get to. Maybe 6-8 ft up some rocks. My son managed it fine, but the rocks can be slick due to weathering and water erosion. Little ones will need some help, but the smaller falls at the base are plenty interesting enough for them (full of tadpoles and water striders when we went!) if you dont want to risk them getting hurt or cant help them up and down. The round trip took us about two hours; however, we were taking our time and enjoying the sights and hung around the waterfalls for close to half an hour. There were a few other families out that we passed on our ways up and back but there was enough separation that we never felt crowded and felt like we had the area to ourselves. The were people on bikes we saw, and the trail is wide enough at the beginning that it can easily accommodate them. I think they take the middle trail once it forks, there is no way a bike is making it easily through the narrow portions of the trail to the left as it gets deeper in the canyon. There were several people walking leashed dogs that seemed to be managing well and several of the families had children much younger than my son making the trek to the falls.I didnt hear or see any signs of rattlesnakes, but we wore jean pants and hiking boots to be safe. I also recommend knowing, and teaching little ones, about how to identify poison oak. Theres some growing near several portions of the trail but its easy enough to avoid.Overall, I highly recommend this trail! We have hiked Placerita Canyon in the past and enjoyed it but my son was blown away by the waterfalls. It sparked a new interest in getting out and seeing more of nature which is just what I was hoping for!
Easy enough trail for a pregnant woman like me. 5 year old son really enjoys it too.You can go as far in to the trail as you want. At one point there is a small waterfall in the spring there are tadpole in the steam. (I think its the spring)Warning dont go after the sun goes down. Youll here growling in the bushes and trees pretty scary!
Popular for hiking with friends and family. Mostly easy accept last half mile up to Waterfall, then a scramble over rocks in the final hundred yards. Although there is water a year-round from the waterfall it doesnt make it very far down the valley.About one-third of the hike is through shaded areas including an oak drove. Trails very wide up until the last half mile or so, which makes social distancing easy during covid.Dont miss hiking in adjacent Elsmere Canyon; more rugged and challenging, but better hilltop views and interesting historical area.
Interesting area peppered with old mines, rock formations, desert animals and floors.
Nice, moderately trafficked trail. Gorgeous trees. Much of the trail is wide, but does begin to narrow as you approach the waterfall. LEASHED dogs are permitted. Be wary if you are a law abiding, considerate citizen and take your dog on a leash because 90% of the dogs we encountered were off leash and our dog was rushed by a large dog which the owner had very poor control over.
Perfect hiking with plenty of parking, 10 miles up and down.
Nice set of trails. it even has shady areas for a respite along a sunny hike. the wildlife also makes it feel more of a break from city life/civilization.
Excellent place to hike and relax
Love this hike. Creeks were running and the first small waterfall was lively. We stop there and that round trip is about 90 min which is perfect. Shade and sun. Only drawback is no where to pee..other than the woods!!
Pretty place. More uphill options, but focused on flat ground since Im healing from ankle surgery. I believe that the trails are in and back too. Didnt make it to the end though....at least for this trip.BRING BUG SPRAY!! I got a few mosquito bites and they got swollen and crazy itchy. It just plain sucked. So bring bug spray!
Its beautiful. Please keep it that way.
One of my favorite hiking spots
Easy walk, creek is flowing and everything is green.
I love this place to go Mountain Biking great views and not so crowded.
Clean and maintained well from what we saw. We spotted lizards and butterflies and a couple of bunnies. Next time we come, I want to see the waterfall.
Great spot for walks, runs, bike rides and overall hiking. Many loops to choose from with views, under oak stands and along creeks (spring). Two of the trails lead to waterfalls in spring after winter rains. The trails will also green up making the walks more pleasant for picture taking. Trails range from easy to moderate depending on the route and style of use and there’s ample parking at the trailhead.
Nice hiking trails with different paths and scenic views.
It is so beautiful now and there is water in the brook.
Its always nice and cool in the morning. The hike will give you a sweat if you havent done any physical activities lately. The view is beautiful, you also sometimes see some wild life. We saw bunnies, 3 of them. Its also a nice trail/dirt rode to ride your bike up.
Great hike today
Nice place with beautiful sunset schemes.
Awesome hike! Beautiful area, easy access and well maintained trail
Great AfterWork Hike to reset the mind
Nice shady trail, not steep. Very good hike with my 10year old kiddo and Great Dane pup, they both loved it!
Nice park perfect for walking waterfall is about 1 hour away little confuse to get there it take us long time to finding it. But it was worth it.
Great mile loop. Half up half down.
Very nice trail lots of shade. If you come early enough no people so dogs can have a little fun before being put on leash
Nice place to walk and hacking
Beautiful and friendly people to chat with along the way if you arent sure of where to go or how high to hike. Be prepared for cold temperatures at the summit. Definitely recommend.
Definitely some lonely trails if you can pick out a proper route
Big, wonderful Live Oaks and even a little water still left in the creek.
Took the family on the waterfall hike. Lots of water and everyone had an enjoyable time.
Nice long hike. No hills. No cell access. Make sure to stay to the left and make it to the water fall!
Perhaps not the greatest landscape, but the solitude is magnificent
This hike was just what I was looking for today. Perfect distance with intermittent small hills with little incline. Partially shaded hike brings some relief if too sunny. Recommend morning in summer. There was still some water flowing at the falls.
Nice 50 min walk to the falls!! Water was clean and cold. The hike is almost on even path with tree shade 60% of the way. You have to climb 6 ft rock to reach the falls, both my kids were able to do it easily. Start early, say 7 or 8 Am to beat the sun.
Great trails and view of the valley!
Excellent trails, beautiful scenery!! A wonderful place to experience nature within city limits haha
Its good place, few trails
Was a great trail but the waterfall is not looking as great right now
Nice place to hike not a lot of people
Really Nice Place To Hike
Excellent Hiking.
Some narrow to wide trail. Overall, easy hike all the way to the waterfall(if available). For beginners (or with kids) about 40 minutes(one way) to the waterfall. Awesome trail
Very clean Place. Dog friendly kid friendly. But limited on parking.
Just beautiful
Gorgeous place to enjoy nature at its best.
A great place to hike. There are a couple different trails and a fire road that goes for miles. There are even trails that shoot off from the fire road. Great views of the Santa Clarita Valley. One of the trails is pretty East and goes way back far into a canyon with waterfalls that appear after a few good rains. I just hike that trail today with 4 kids ranging in age from 5 to 9 years old.
Love this easy hike. When the water is flowing the waterfalls are great
Good for a quick fix, easy hike.
Totally under-estimated this trail. Went after a rain storm in January. Clean, barely any dog poop. Saw three people while on it (dont doubt that it gets busy during weekends). Narrow path at certain points. Rocky. Steep elevation in some areas. The waterfall was a trickle... Beautiful tree grove.
Great place to take a day hike, good for kids and pets.
This Place Is A Good Reason To Live In California!
Great place to get away from everything but not far away. ..
Awesome place and people.
Great place to get a breath of fresh air
Meh views of the Santa Clarita valley. Fire road is decently maintained.
Nice to hike or take a stroll with the wify
Easy to get to, good parking and clean trails
Excellent place for anyone. So green
Who knew a ace like this could exist in California. What a beautiful place.
Great place for a quick or long hike!
Beautiful place
Decent views and the hike was not bad easy good path.
Short, easy, fairly flat trail. Mud issues from rain, so waiting 3 or so days after rain would be a good idea.
Its a nice park, with trails that lead to the top of the mountain... Not sure where else they may lead. I wish there was a visitor center that had maps. My son and I went hiking. We walked about as far as we could so that we could comfortably find our way back to civilization.
Its a nice hike to 3 waterfalls for friends, family and kids
Lots of parking (no restrooms) and great trails!
Nice hike. Short trail with no serious elevation gains. Good chance that you will see deer, snakes, and frogs if there is any water. 1.5 miles in is a rock wall that is about 6 to 8 feet high. Its a good turn around spot but you can climb it and go on if you want.
12 locks for one door, one Adventure. I am ready
Nice hiking spot with nice easy to navigate trails.
The roads are nice and clear some small rocks not to bad hiking up wards is a good steep climb a small rest area about 3 mile up ... You definitely will feel the burn ...go early when its cool cause once it warms up you will feel the heat coming down
It was calm and peaceful. A nice family park
Great view of the snow moon
Nice secrete hiking trails in a surprisingly well preserved area with a creek.
I like the mall, but I love nature more, nice hike people walking around make me feel safe.
Beautiful place
Great Mountain bike trails definitely a great work out.
Had an amazing time.
Love this trail and the waterfall at the end makes it so worth the hike
Kid friendly hiking.
Great trails to jog walk bring dogs etc nice views
Wonderful place to hiking beautiful scenery
Still plenty of water on this hike but it wont last much longer if we dont get some rain
Very nice place to bring the family, spend the afternoon. Plenty of nature to explore here.
Just wasnt one of my favorite hikes it wasnt very clean there was a lot of dog waste and trash.
If you keep going the water fall is still active as of July 6th it was beautiful and there are streams you can cross to go up as the water fall kept getting bigger and bigger
Nice and Quiet if you want a piece of mind.
Very relaxing place
Not crowded easy shady trails
Everything in nature is always awesome
Nice place for a blow job
We liked but many trails dont have signs and we got lost for a while
This is a fun local hike. Pay attention as you do so; it was once planned to put a massive dump here. Thankfully, many opposed that plan and saved this for the people.
Really nice place
BEAUTIFUL x 10!!
