It’s nice to have a well maintained recreational area with plenty of shade, temperature-regulating vegetation, and quality views. Santa Clarita needs more places like these, which provide something for residents to do that does not revolve around spending money.

This is one of the few big parks in Newhall, which is great to have. However, since the pandemic, the hours have been reduced and the park is now closed Monday and Tuesday. What kind of public park is gated and closed off to the public. The neighborhood is already deprived of green space. It’s really inconsiderate for the county to do this when there’s nowhere else within walking distance to go

Small little park for a nice hike. Nothing too big, most times can be done under 1h. They have a little zoo thats best suited for smaller golden and doesnt cost anything. Also, some historic buildings to check out.

The William S. Hart park and museum is the best place to visit. The museum itself has some really cool artifacts. There is a letter from Wyatt Earp, WOW, there is so much history here. It is interesting & educational and the tour guides are always friendly and informative. Its free, with donations accepted. Its a really nice hike/walk up to the museum from the parking lot. Its not difficult, but I always end up with at least one person who whines all the way up. Seniors and people with disabilities can drive up. This trip, sadly, the animal area was closed to visitors. There are clean, stocked restrooms and plenty of free parking. Dont forget to check out the BISON herd. If you like the old west, youll love this place.

Everything is free. You can hike the trails, picnic, see all the farm animals, birds and historic buildings of old Santa Clarita Valley. Great place for a weekend visit. Also, you can tour the old town of Newhall, California. Lots of resturants and stores. The people are very friendly.

I never thought my kids and I would find some many great things to do, especially all in 1 place. Not only did they have fun, but they learned about so many different types of things. They got to see & also feed many kinds of animals there. They were also lucky enough to see several types of structures that were built several decades ago. They have a trail walk with a finishing of being able to see actual Bisons. Great place!!! Also, you should visit the Ranch House, its a great place for not only adults, but kids as well. :)

Then you head up the hill and at top is his house which they give daily tours... its so worth it! This is a beautiful historic park and hidden gem! It has a deep history in the Santa Clarita Valley and hosts a lot of fun events throughout the year. It is a leisure park with historic buildings and features so if you’re looking to play sports, this isn’t the place with the space. But if your looking for fun family things to do, a lot of it’s programs are free and open to the public. It’s well maintained with clean bathrooms (which is really surprising for a public park) and a must to visit if you’re in the area
