Fun family outing this morning, great little hike, the kids loved looking at the animals, the bison were cool, and we cant wait to come back - especially after COVID when everything has opened back up!
It’s nice to have a well maintained recreational area with plenty of shade, temperature-regulating vegetation, and quality views. Santa Clarita needs more places like these, which provide something for residents to do that does not revolve around spending money.
This is one of the few big parks in Newhall, which is great to have. However, since the pandemic, the hours have been reduced and the park is now closed Monday and Tuesday. What kind of public park is gated and closed off to the public. The neighborhood is already deprived of green space. It’s really inconsiderate for the county to do this when there’s nowhere else within walking distance to go
Awesome park with lots of picnic tables spaced far enough to be comfortable with social distancing.
Its a great place to visit beautiful and especially for the kids when theyre a mini zoo is open.
Been coming here as a kid in the 80s. Always feel good coming here. Thank you Mr. Hart for your contribution to the county of Los Angeles. This place has been remodeled. The mean white Billy goat is gone but the memory is etched in my mind.
The William S. Hart park and museum is the best place to visit. The museum itself has some really cool artifacts. There is a letter from Wyatt Earp, WOW, there is so much history here. It is interesting & educational and the tour guides are always friendly and informative. Its free, with donations accepted. Its a really nice hike/walk up to the museum from the parking lot. Its not difficult, but I always end up with at least one person who whines all the way up. Seniors and people with disabilities can drive up. This trip, sadly, the animal area was closed to visitors. There are clean, stocked restrooms and plenty of free parking. Dont forget to check out the BISON herd. If you like the old west, youll love this place.
Beautiful 1920s rancho from the silent film era.
Very nice . Lots shade . Restrooms.Parking. Animal zoo
Bbq grill nice and quiet with security guards nice area
Everything is closed. Ill give a better review when it opens up.
Quiet, with history, and hiking! Perfect.
I love this place. It feels so warm. Thats the only way I can describe it without sounding too granola bar. Its just a nice place to be if its not too hot.
We come here every summer. We love the river and it is very relaxing. You can grill and enjoy you day. They also have lil paddle boats you can rent and other types as well. Fun and relaxing place to bring the family.
Very windy and cool today.
Love the animals! Nice walk to the house. Interesting history of one of the old western stars from back in the day! Beautiful views from the property. Definitely worth visiting!
I actually really like this park, I just found out that it offers free Wi-Fi which is a big plus now. Plenty of shade and lots of room to run around. Theres also a hiking trail which isnt too advanced and the staff at the park are really courteous.
Yes they have Bison, Amazing Have always loved this park. I first visited there in the early 70s.hiked 4 miles around there. Went on the tour it is still a gem.
Everything is free. You can hike the trails, picnic, see all the farm animals, birds and historic buildings of old Santa Clarita Valley. Great place for a weekend visit. Also, you can tour the old town of Newhall, California. Lots of resturants and stores. The people are very friendly.
I never thought my kids and I would find some many great things to do, especially all in 1 place. Not only did they have fun, but they learned about so many different types of things. They got to see & also feed many kinds of animals there. They were also lucky enough to see several types of structures that were built several decades ago. They have a trail walk with a finishing of being able to see actual Bisons. Great place!!! Also, you should visit the Ranch House, its a great place for not only adults, but kids as well. :)
The place is beautiful me and my family love the place and weve gone there so many times and each time is just better and better one of the best places in Santa Clarita.
Great public park in the heart of Newhall. It’s 200+ acres feel roomy and the couple short hikes are well marked and provide nice 360° views of the valley. The tour is well worth taking, just the right length and the house is well-preserved.
Beautiful level grass with no dead spots, lots of spaced out picnic tables. People were social distancing nicely as well. 5/28/2020
Beautiful park in a busy city. Part of a museum honoring silent screen actor William S Heart. Great museum, walk to the top of the hill for a tour of the house. Gift shop and area with farm animals for the kids.
One of my favorites. Newhall gem. Free entry to small barn with pigs, alpacas, and an ostrich. Also, some historic houses and small self guided museums. Little hike up to see the bison. Small and full of character.
The only reason I like Halloween is because of pumpkin patches, I used to like the costumes and everything but now these days costumes just seem so um..WEAK..
I had a great experience at the William S.Hart museum. I highly recommend the tour
Excellent medium Hills The Climb. Museums Lots stuff to see from the old Hart actor in silent films. Highly recommended will be back to go see the buffalo
Nice hidden gem in Santa Clarita. Nice views on the top. Small collection of farm animals. They really need to clean out the llama feces because it stinks so bad.
Nice lunch with a friend. Watched a humming bird.
This was our first visit to William S. Heart and it is a great place to visit with kids or alone. There were animals to see and feed. The hiking trails and views are amazing! People are ver friendly.
Nice park with lots of shade and grass. They have several things for kids to do and even a few shopping options for adults. The small museums are with the time to view.
I love this places and is Free
There are definitely ghost dogs here
Great park for the family
Its always a workout for me! I love walking up the hill and love the view! Very clean
Fun place to go see some American buffalo (bison) and a quick hike up the hill.
Wow this place has improved over the years! Great hiking, nice grounds, ample parking. Dont forget to take a tour at the top of the Hart mansion! The bison on the grounds are a fun sight too. An underutilized gem of our local parks system. Now if they had a kids playground thatd be even better
Good place to the kiddos.
Park - wonderful. Having one car sit there and blast their music - not fun. Wish Park management would post a noise / music limit of some sort. Literally the whole picnic area had to talk above their music. Let’s keep the space enjoyable for everyone.
I attended a cowboy festival. The park has a rule that there is no charge at any event, fantastic! They had wonderful shuttle bus service. Even the portable toilets were very nice!!The park is very beautiful!
Ive been visiting this place since I was a child with my father William S Hart was his favorite cowboy and its a wonderful place to plan any events or activities
They should tell you on the site better when the animals are not around I wanted to see farm animals and they were all put away plus the cages are way too small its not fair to do to animals
Clean and very nice with lots of trees
Great historical place. Something for everybody. From animals to picnic areas, and trains. American bison too!
It is really nice for walks. It is quiet and the view is great. Unfortunately, when it is hot many of the trails dont have trees or shade.
Interesting historical park. Really must climb the hill to see the Willuam S. Hart residenceThe bunk house next to the parking lot is interesting, too. Be sure to visit Heritage Square and the animals.New home of The Cowboy Poetry festival. If you have never been, its a must experience.
A great place to relax and have a picnic or write.
Not a fan of the new fences on the trail. I used to spend a lot of time on those fireroads as a kid and I feel like something really beautiful was ruined
Its fun to tour his house on the hii side
Best park to hike take pictures learn about old movie history nice west museum, small petting zoo and wild buffalo old train n and back in the days old school n outhouse
Small little park but really nice to relax. No playground just grass area. Every Friday evening they have movie outdoors.
Loved the history this place has to offer, check out the historic train station
Beautiful area.
Park animal section is closed during covid
So lucky to live by such a pretty park. Sidewalks wind thru the areas with large trees and plenty of picnic benches. The playground is right next to the sand volleyball court. Local softball and football leagues allow you to enjoy fun filled sports with the family for free. Bleachers located for both sports areas.
Love this place and free!!! They have a little farm animal section and then you get to see one of his houses at the bottom. Then you head up the hill and at top is his house which they give daily tours... its so worth it! I love the history of it and your allowed to take pictures...and at the end you can do an activity with your kid or just hang out on the shady grass....
Its a good place to hike down and up a trail if you want. And the house on top of the hill is an old house museum that belong to Hart.
This is a wonderful park and museum find. William Hart was a silent movie star and this is his retirement ranch. The tour is excellent, dont miss it. You can see bison and there is a farm animal area. You will need to walk up a good height to get to the house. We had a good time.
Amazing and beautiful and super cool unexpected but a blessing way to you see the bisons at the end.
Really interesting place to spend 3 hours the people are fantastic
Nice hike and saw bison
I like this park clean and peaceful
Clean, safe, beautiful, and in the city which I love the most.
What a beautiful park, green lawn, pretty trees to have a picnic underneath and cool trails to walk on, picnic tables that are clean no trash to see or very enjoyable day in park
This is a beautiful historic park and hidden gem! It has a deep history in the Santa Clarita Valley and hosts a lot of fun events throughout the year. It is a leisure park with historic buildings and features so if you’re looking to play sports, this isn’t the place with the space. But if your looking for fun family things to do, a lot of it’s programs are free and open to the public. It’s well maintained with clean bathrooms (which is really surprising for a public park) and a must to visit if you’re in the area
Nice little animal area.
Another free activity in our community
Surprised to find bison here
Quaint and peaceful nature trail. The barnyard is small but very cute. My children loved it. We havent made it to the museum yet, but that is the goal.
We didnt do the tour of the large house on the hill, but the petting zoo, and other houses and buildings on the property were really cool. We had 5 young kids and 5 adults and we had a great time walking up to the big house and exploring the area. The kids were really excited to see the bison roaming too! We definitely plan on going back soon again.
Bigger than I thought. We went for the cowboy festival and the set up was very well done with lots of parking and short lines
Cool place lots of history
Beautiful
Very interesting place, lots of history, and fond memories of my childhood.
Nice park with Bisons visible most days. Farm animals, historic landmark, hidden hiking trails at hill top behind closed gate.
Its a cool place to just relaxe and take a really god hike
Good park. Liked it.
This is great place to be, with your family...is free and very nice!!!! nice people.they share part of the story...of the park.veri nice...
The cowboy festival was very fun. Good food, great shopping. Loved the civil war reenactment. Shuttle bus parking was very nice and convenient.
I really like this park. I hope they can expand and sustain the history.
Pokémon stops, thats the reason I go. The trails, the live animals, the banquet center, picnic area, the museum and the history are just a bonus
Man this place is big. With all kinds of options, but I did not explore the options so I cant speak to what looked like a store on premises.
Nice park, just wish people would be more considerate when parking.
Cool historical pla8
Lovely spot for a picnic or to visit animals or see some historical stuff.
Ive been going to Hart Park since I was very young. The hike is great, you can see all types of wild life, including Buffalo. You can see William S. Harts houses as a museum, and it is all very beautiful. The old train station is also pretty cool, and haunted. Check this place out :)
It is an Oasis in the middle of Newhall. You can enjoy the lower area with picnic tables, grass, great shade, clean restrooms, the visitor center, & the mini zoo. Or start a hike through the park to see the buffalo, the old residence, and neat views!
I like it and had good time
Great park. Close to a lot of residence homes and apartments. Good for short hikes. The animals in the barn area were very interesting. Like it a lot
Great place to spend a couple of hours with the family. Different things to do... Check out the animal barn, go up the hill to the Hart house, see the historical buildings, have a family meal at the tables.
Hard to find parking onsite, but worth it.
