We visited the market/deli while staying at the RV resort next door. We didnt know this little piece of heaven existed. Great place to sit, relax and enjoy the area while dining on great food. Very reasonable prices on the menu too. Will definitely stop in there again for a quick meal when driving through the area.

El Capitan Canyon is a great place to go with friends and family. The cabins are in excellent shape and condition, and there’s a market where you can buy breakfast, lunch, and anything you need for roasting marshmallows that night. Premium rates are charged, but slipping sevice and cleanliness standards give me pause. Cobwebs in the public areas are a big red flag for me. Something so simple to remedy makes one wonder what else is slipping. I wonder how clean is the kitchen if spiders are allowed to nesting among the wine bottles in the shop? The three stars is for the location and the great memories Ive had there.

We stayed there from Sunday until Tuesday and it was an amazing experience. We went in the beginning of August and the weather was so good. It was cooling in the evenings (around low 60s - bring a jacket and pants) and during the day it was in the mid 80s perfect for shorts and a t-shirt. There is a swimming pool there, but because of the cold nights it does get pretty cold for the kids. We went on a trail that was pretty easy mostly flat and then it led to the Llama farm. The person that tended to the farm (oh my gosh I feel so bad I forgot his name) was very informative and spent time and jokes with us, it was a great time. You can see all the amenities in the pictures but there are electrical plugs and so many activities to try join. I guarentee that if you want to experience glamping this is a great way to do it. There is so much more to talk about, but a lot of it thier website does give you info about. The staff there is great and you can order anything brought to your tent or yurt.

We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation. We rented one of the small cabins with the queen bed and the Loft, it also had an interior bathroom and shower which I feel is an absolute must in this area as you come back from the beach and outside Pretty Dirty and sweaty after a long day. Its also nice to have the shower and bathroom right there because depending on where your cabin is located it could be quite a walk. The one thing we were not prepared for is that you literally need to bring everything from chairs to utensils. We were there for two days which I feel was plenty of time to enjoy the camp as well as the beach. There is an on-site Market which is very reasonable with regards to supplies as well as prices, in fact it was a lot less expensive than I thought it would be and the staff is super friendly. Will definitely be going back

Nestled in a peaceful canyon, we walked to the farm where there were a ton of baby animals, then we swam and laid by the pool situated next to the gently rolling hillside. In the evening we watched a kids movie on the giant projector in the woods and meandered down the most lovely lit pathway as it grew dark, hearing the crashing waves of the ocean nearby. Wonderful glamping experience here. We stayed in the double tent and had a comfortable bed and heat to sleep in. The double tent has 2 full sized beds and cost the same as the queen tent, so in my opinion better value for money if going in a group. Bathroom was excellent! Very clean and there was even service in the tents with new towels given everyday and toiletries refilled. Perfect mix of comfort and nature.

We really enjoyed our time here. The cabins are a bit pricey for what you get and you have to bring just about everything or pay convenience mart type pricing. The staff were all super friendly but we had to call twice to have our cabin serviced/cleaned and then it didnt happen until after 4pm. We were there in the off season (early January), so there werent a lot of people or activities scheduled/happening. We took a walk on our own to the goat farm and were happy we did. The Saturday morning schedule hike to farm was FILLED with screaming kids....We rented the creekside queen cabin. There was no water in the creek... that was a bummer but on the upside, it was quiet and away from the families area.

This campground is very pretty situated by the beach and the hills. It is a good alternative to camping since it has more amenities (market is great). We booked a safari tent originally but when we arrived, the tent smelled and had mold spots on the tent. We thought the tents would be better maintained for $155/night. We decided to switch to a cabin and Vicki at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. The cabin was a lot better but could be a bit updated I think for $205/night (newer bathroom). But it was a nice experience with our kids and we had fun.

If you are not a camper, this is a great alternative. You are outdoors and moving in nature, and the cabins are a place to shower and sleep. The cabins need maintenance. Screens have holes, moldings are missing around windows, little things, but for the price the cabins should be well maintained. Its a great concept. The canyon store and market are well stocked. We found most of the staff to be cheerful and helpful. They cheerfully replaced one of our screens that had holes in it so that we could open the windows during the day. The llama hike is super fun, especially for the kids. I think I would like to give it 4 or even 5 stars, its just that for the price, it seems like the cabins should be in excellent condition. We were with a large group and there was a big range of what condition each cabin was in. Still, I recommend it!

The kitchen doesn’t have a stove but only a tiny microwave and small fridge. The cabin is about 12’ x 20’. The furniture and cabinets are terrible quality like a cheap RV. They don’t let you get anywhere near the creek it’s closed off and it’s full of poison ivy. For the price we expected a lot more.

I would have given this place a 4, had I not been expecting to see water. They say their rv campground has water views, and youre really looking forward to it. So when we arrived and saw that it was a sliver of water, from a certain angle, if you tilt your head, etc. we were disappointed. I also felt, that management could do something to help with the smell of foul sewer caps not properly closed. I had to call three times to complain about this. They sent someone out each time, but they just closed one or another, yet they were a lot still left open. I couldnt sit outside because of the smell and had to personally walk around and figure which ones were open to tell them exactly which ones to close. I felt that for the money we paid, we shouldnt have to tell them how to do their jobs, plus mislead people with boasting water views. The rv sites are private from each other, and the people who were staying were considerate. They do implement a lot of rules, and regulations to make sure it stays like that, and at 10:00 its quiet time. So, you cannot be outside with electronics. Therefore, no tvs, radios, iPads etc. are allowed on. Its seems a bit ludicrous that adults need to be told this, but I guess its been an issue before. I was outside with my tv on, and had security come and tell me, its lights out, and although no one has complained, and I cant even hear your tv, Ill allow you to keep it on. I think this is a bit extreme, that youre being told what you can and cant do when youre not being inconsiderate. I felt like I had to hide every night to sit outside, enjoy a drink while watching tv, and enjoying the mild weather. They have a nice pool, and a cute store equipped with lots of essentials, should you be stuck in the park without another means of transportation. You can walk to the beach across the street, but when I say across the street, you have to go through a state park, so its like a mile and a half walk. They have an adjoining campground that has cabins, and youre free to roam around those ground. Every Friday night they have events for guests, that guest from either parks can join. They had a fabulous band one week that sang for 2 hours straight. It was lovely to see everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. They had a lovely fire-pit for guest to keep warm too. The following week they had a wine tasting, which was great and informative. They had other daily activities, hikes, yoga etc.I think theres something for everyone in this campground, but one thing you can definitely expect, is lots of kids on their skateboards, bikes, etc. So, be warned, if you want quiet all the time this is NOT the place for you.

El Capitan Canyon is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and much of the fun of camping without having to set up your tent and bring all the gear. We always stay in one of the beautiful cabins, tho there are other types of accommodations. Beach is a short walk away, great as it can get warm in the canyon. Lovely swimming pool with shade, big trees, plenty of open warm sunny areas as well. And green grass, a welcome sight! The camp store/grill/deli has many offerings. Staff helpful and accommodating. Check out the website and other reviews. Worth the price if its in your budget. Plenty for outdoor children to do and places for adults to have quiet as well. I imagine in the height of the summer its fairly busy. Areas to roam and opportunities for privacy. Highly recommend!

Every camp has its own fire pit and picnic table. We stay at the cabin that can sleep 6, two bunk bed and loft above the bathroom (two twin mattress). There is a microwave, sink and small refrigerator in each cabin. Bedding are comfortable. There is heater inside the cabin too so wont be freezing at night. Bathroom is tiny, shower only. But still better than showing in the public bathroom. The Service: Very strict security, they would check your reservation on their check-in list. Then they will instruct you where to park your car and where to check-in. Front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful. They will give you the room key and map of the camp site. Since it is a huge camp site, the security will escort you to your camp. Very thoughtful that you wont get lost. After they guide you to your camp site to upload your luggage, they will tell you where to park your cars. They staffs drive around the property all the time, very secure. The housekeeping drive around the property to change trash bags. The Parking: About few minutes walk from your camp site. There are a few parking lots through out the property. The camp site is pretty empty during winter time because it is off-season. The price is only $50 cheaper than summer (high-season). Wish they discount more so more people will come and enjoy the camp site.

Chewed through a bag of pretzels. My in-laws stayed in cabin 146. A mouse (maybe the same one) paid them a visit as well. No ac. Gets warm during the dayso it’s better to sit outside during that time. Bring your own camping chairs.Walking distance to the beach. Be careful of the tar at the beach. I was a victim. Thank goodness the Canyon Market had a one-time use tar remover wipe. Worked like a charm!Pretty peaceful at night. Kids loved having s’mores for dessert after dinner. You step outside of the yurt and have a picnic table and fire pit ready for you. It is so easy, no need to set up a tent, but you still feel like you are camping. The showers were clean and had nice hot water for free...no coins needed!! There is a restaurant and small store on the premises that has everything you need.
