Very interesting place. I was greeting by the volunteer attendant who happened to be a lifelong resident of the town of Sanford (he was in his 70s).A few years back a pickup truck found its way inside the building. Its seems that the unholy mix of intoxicating spirits and a steering wheel were to blame. In the process, a precious antique organ was smashed. Amazingly, friends and patrons of the museum were able bring it back from the dead. It now proudly sits in the front room in all its glory (and still plays beautifully, from what I was told). There are plenty of other curious and fascinating historical artifacts to see.I would say its definitely worth the stop, and best of all, free admission.
