Beautiful, quiet, and peaceful historic home that was owned by several influential people over the 200+ years the house has been in existence. Its a drive out but well with it!

This is a beautiful property and an awesome house from the Revolutionary War. There is a building with a small museum and the house itself to visit. People are welcome to tour the inside of the house. The museum workers are very welcoming and are happy to answer questions.

Im related to both parties involved in this skirmish. Col. Alston is my 6th great grandfather and Col. David Fanning is my 1st Cousin 7 X removed. His uncle is my direct 6th great grandfather. I came to Fayetteville NC to work and it was a short 1 hour drive over. The house was in amazing condition for a Colonial era home. Beautiful grounds. Gift shop could use more info and period type gifts. Friendly staff. Glad I came. Highly recommend to see this.

This was a great place to experience a Revolutionary War reenactment on a smaller scale. There were interactive stations that gave a hands on opportunity to see what life was like around that time.

If you like American history, this is a must see. Holes from musket balls are still visible in the house walls from a revolutionary skirmish. A well maintained site and one of the only sites of its kind. Its totally free and the tour was very informative. Donations are appreciated.

This property is a window into the past and a great way to feel what it was like living in rural North Carolina hundreds of years ago.Seeing the bullet holes still in the walls from the Revolutionary War era is a poignant reminder of what our ancestors went through to earn their freedom.I have been to the reenactment many times and highly recommend it, but the property is also very interesting and fun to explore in its more quiet times.

We went for the annual reenactment and spent the day! We enjoyed all of the people in period clothes and what they did. From pottery to butchers, and even a wig maker, it was educational and we enjoyed it. For the small battle that took place at the house, it was well done and we enjoyed that as well.
