It was like the poor mans Smokies! Awesome place for a morning or an evening walk. Not fully paved, but a pretty easy hike that anyone could do. The flowing creek alongside the trail was cool. Just loved it ..

A hidden gem!!! Beautiful trails, lots of picnic spots, wooden foot bridges and TREES! In the heart of Roswell and close to town, definitely worth a visit!

Large natural wooded park surrounded by developments with several well marked trails and a stream running through it. My 7 year old had no problems keeping up. Parking was easy. Great place for a family hike.

Went based on reviews, cannot believe have been living so close to this trail and never found out earlier. Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon, very easy trail, with a creek right next, tiny wooden bridges. Kids loved it and to our surprise didnt complain even a bit. Excellent

Was surprised and delighted to find a fascinating network of trails, creekbeds, and scenery right next to a municipal court parking lot. A new favorite! Although its natural woodland and winding trails can feel a little anxious when on your own, it’s well looked after with charming touches like split rail fencing, native plants, bird houses, etc. All forest, clearly signposted, clean bathrooms, and popular with families.

I love these trails. They’re very well maintained while still giving us a far off woodsy feel. My dog really enjoys the creeks and Bridges. It’s a great place for a 10 minute walk or even to take the back trails and spend an hour in nature.

A great place for a walk. A must place for visiting. Good trail to enjoy the nature, Trees. A quiet atmosphere to Relax your mind. The positive side is the trees that surround the trail and water flowing thru the park. Amazing experience. They have adequate parking space and restroom.

Easy accessible place, big parking, clean restroom. There many hiking paths, shorter and longer and in my option all easy.Appreciate such access to the nature in the city even in some parts while walking you could hear cars.And I was missing place to park and lock my bike:-(

Great easy but beautiful hike. Dogs can splash in the creek and not get too dirty due to the excellent trail maintenance. If you see any trash on the trails please pick it up and take it out with you. Lets all help keep the trails beautiful!

Very well groomed trails, with creek crossings and benches periodically spread throughout so you can sit and enjoy the urban forest. Easy to find parking, and restrooms are at the trailhead. The whole trail can be walked in 30 minutes, and its very kid and dog friendly.

Great spot for low to moderate trails. Plenty of shade from a dense tree canopy. Could probably walk each and every trail in under two (2) hours.. but why? Take a break. Sit down on the benches and listen to the sounds of mother nature...and the occasional car horns of Roswell Rd.

Have loved this place since 2000. Not just beautiful and serene, its magical.Enormous white oaks shading a rocky melodious stream. Thanks are due to Mr. Forbes and Charlie Cochrane for this place. We miss Charlie, and his friendly welcoming smile and the wonderful way he kept the trails, but even without him and his devotion to this place it is still worth a visit.

Its so easy to forget that you are surrounded by urban sprall as you home this beautiful park. The serenity is enhanced with the stream that runs through the park.The perfect spot of a short respite from the frenzy of modern life!!

Big Trees Forest Preserve is a great place to escape into the woods for a peaceful and relaxing walk. It might be right off Roswell Road, but you feel like youre in a quiet wood with the creek babbling through it.

I stopped here on a whim while in Sandy Springs and so glad I did! Such a nice spot for a little walk in nature. I came here in December, so all the leaves were gone, but it was still beautiful. Cant wait to come back in the Spring.

Nice place hidden not too far away from Sandy Springs. Trails are easy to complete and are well marked. Got to see a snake once by the river bed so people on trail watch your path and be attentive. Parking is free, restrooms are clean and well maintained. Overall a good place to spend half a day.

Perfect place for a jog or walking the dog. Cool stream running through. Plenty of noise from the highway and surrounding construction. The viewpoints are apparently for after the trees have shed.

We love these trails!! So does our pup! Theyre short and we havent gotten lost yet, so if highly recommend coming here! Its very clean and you forget your in the city.

Great place for an afternoon walk. For the most part you cant even tell youre in the city. Theres a nice stream, the paths are covered in mulch, and the trails seem to be well groomed.

It is rare to find an intact urban forest of this size. It is kept in a natural state.

I really love this nature preserve. Its kind of hiding in plain sight. A few feet away from the road and it feels like you are deep in the forest. It always seems cooler and calmer in the Trees.

Very pleasant, small preserve with trails totalling about a mile. Severalbridges over creeks. Well maintained except for the nature trail, which had no guides. Walked here as a sole female and felt fine on safety. Saw two other women alone walking their dogs. I wouldnt go far out of my way to see it. Nice restrooms.

It is a calm and beautiful nature-rich jungle right in the middle of the concrete jungle :) . It has some serene trails with a small stream running through it. You can trek through it and sit by the stream and hear its soothing sound. The walk/trek is not very difficult and can be done leisurely and even with kids. Even dogs love thia trail and will enjoy near the small stream. It is a good relaxing walk if you live nearby.

It’s a small trail but beautiful, nearby to the traffic but you won’t feel it . People come here to pick mushrooms too.

Nice park with many possible paths of varying lengths. A few areas are becoming very muddy but they have put down a few stepping stones to help. Many months ago the park flooded and they are still fixing all the fallout from that.

Nice place to go for a short hike. There are a few different paths to go down, but all of them loop around the same area. You can still hear the cars from Roswell Rd a little, but overall it is peaceful. There is also a stream that runs thru the area which is cool to look at. You will probably see 1-5 other people during your walk.

Nice nature walk. My young son enjoyed splashing and playing in the little stream next to the trail. The trail is mostly shaded and we had a very enjoyable time.

Beautiful place, nice scenery on walking trails

Great shaded woods walk!!! (Although you cannot escape the hum of cars in the background too). Short enough for 4yrs and up even on the longest Backcountry trail (~1.2mi). Bring some water shoes for the kids to splash in the creek at the stone bridge! Lots of mosquitos even bug spray didnt keep them from biting those they love most. Fabulous Tangled weave of trails to explore and interesting natural sites to take in.

Basically a big hole in the ground with tons of trees and snakes. Its beautiful, but a lot of days it can also be hot as a furnace with lots of insects. Good place to walk the dog when you want to tire that dog the hell out so it will leave you alone and let you YouTube in peace.

This is a nice park that remains as a tribute to the original owner. The trails are decent, albeit a little rocky. Its a great place for a walk or just to get some fresh air.

Hidden gem! Easy and short (1 mile or less maybe) trails in a peaceful wood, most seem to be on a loop. Bathrooms are well maintained. My only complaint would be maintenence of trails themselves could be a bit better; when we went a couple trails seem a bit unkempt and one of the little bridges railing was collapsed. We loved taking a walk amongst the fall leaves.
