Fun place! friendly staff, Nice rooms with fireplaces. Day prices are pricey at 95$ got a room for 248 after taxes, which includes 4 passes. Crazy, but its cheaper to get a room, even if you dont stay.
This was my first time coming to this resort and it was absolutely awesome!!! The waterslides were crazy and bar in the pool!!! Amazing!! After a long day of walking around cedar point we got to this resort where we were staying for the night and went into the hot tub and got a drink at the water bar which was so freaking cool and just relaxed in the outdoor hot tub! I loved this place so much! I wasnt able to get pics of the water park because I wasnt nervous of leaving my phone with my towels. But I did get pics of the room. The room was very nice with a fireplace and a balcony!! So pretty, but the mini fridge was not stable it kept tipping side to side which was weird and the toilet was not screwed down well either. Every time u sat on it it would move and it just was not good lol but other than that it was so relaxing. Also the loaded fries from the Pizza Pub omg!! Best Ive ever eaten!! I totally recommend them!!! I cant wait to come back here!! Hopefully next time I can make it to the spa!!
Perfect weekend getaway with my five year old. Check in was a great experience thanks to Nicole and the manager Haley. Thank you both for starting our trip out nice. Bryson our cabana server was awesome too! Great trip!
Overall a great family vacation. Been to all except Texas will continue going. Only reason not a 5 is our last trip was sub satisfying. Management was fast to reply and addressing issues.
When we arrived at the resort my wife realized that we were paying more for the room (which was reserved in October) then we should have been. They were giving rooms at half price (basically) then what we were going to pay. The lady at the desk (German woman) was very nice and very helpful. She adjusted the price and then upgraded our room. When we got into our room (which was ready when we arrived at 12:30pm) it was not well cleaned. This was fine by me (because due to Covid) we had already planned on cleaning and brought our own cleaning supplies, but the counter had crumbs, the couch had crumbs, the hide-a-bed had crumbs, besides all that the room was fairly clean. We decided to rent a Cabana which the first day was great. We had 9 people in our party (2 were young children) so it was nice to have a place to relax from time to time. The second day we also rented the Cabana which started out nice, but a very rude young man came to tell us there was no food aloud in the Cabana that was not form the resort. I understand the rules, but he sat there and watched us like we were criminals. We were cleaning up our food (while eating the $100 worth of food that we had just purchased.) One of my kids has very sensitive food allergies so that was why we had the food, but he didnt want to hear that. He was rude. I paid $450 for the Caban (over 2 days. I have no issue with the money I spent, but the rudeness of the staff left little to be desired.I would like to come back again (as I have done now multiple times), but I would also like to see a better trained staff. They should be trained in rules following, but also into how to politely encourage rule following. Not treating people like they are a nuisance. One last thing it almost seemed like a prerequisite that I smoke pot to belong to the resort. It was really gross, and there are signs all over saying it is not tolerated, but at four in the morning when I went out to ask someone to look into the noise and smells no one was to be found. No guards, not staff, no one at the desk, nothing. I looked for a half hour and no one was to be found. That was very disappointing. While looking for some staff there were kids all over in the hallway in the stair wells, and down in the front being very loud but no staff, or guards. This is not an acceptable thing to me.Love the resort but there are many staff issues that could be easily fixed with a bit of encouragement and education. Please know that this is all meant to be encouraging not something that is just some guy gripping needlessly.Thank you for hearing my concerns and hopefully if we do decide as a family to come back we are able to see the awesome improvements you have made!!
Great rides, comfortable rooms and friendly valet team members (Andrew was so helpful). Recommend reserving the Private Whirlpool Cabana. Kalahari has some great features- but food is not one of them. Pizza is good -but try to eat elsewhere in Sandusky. Lots of options in town.
Amazing place all around. Unforgettable experience for family and friends. We made the very long trip often before Covid
We came to celebrate my nephews 3rd birthday party this past weekend. We asked to place two tables together for the party and Jermaine could not have been more helpful! He gave us a party room for the day and told us to call him if we needed anything. He was so sweet and we will definitely be back!
The beds arent comfortable at all! The best part about this place is the chocolate and ice cream area!
Very clean staff stay on top of sanitizing they will help with anything you need very fun not too pricy either my husband and i and our kids had a blast and well return soon
Hi Nelson Family!I am sitting at one of your Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky and I must say, THANK YOU!This is a lovely atmosphere, nice staff, everyone is cool and even during covid. My fiance and I needed a weekend away and since she is pregnant we couldnt do Cedar Point so we came here instead and boy, we were NOT let down!Just wanted to send a quick thank you. Im a fellow business owner so when I see success as great as this, I have to commend and praise as I see greatness like this! Thanks again for your creation.Samuel Lorenz (CEO)Legacy Media Solutions, INC.
We love Kalahari. Its one of our favorite waterparks by far. Much more to offer than any other park weve visited.
Had a very fun experience. The room itself was big and spacious. Loved the indoor and outdoor water park for the little ones. The slides for the older children were very fun and safe. Although it is supposed to be a non-smoking place there was still people smoking which was the only down side. After repeatedly letting the people at the front desk know and them not doing anything we decided to ask the people to please stop smoking and asking them to go to the designated place for that. Fun and great experience overall.
Its a pretty good place to go on vacation. I feel like they nickel and dime you(plenty of taxes and fees added after your stay) and theyve definitely gotten rid of a few things over the years (the raft roller coaster and the lily pads just to name a couple). Really the worst part about my trip was getting the bill the next day and even though we were the only two people in the room we got charged for two movies that were never watched and never purchased on our TVs. We were able to get them refunded but it took a 14 minute call to do it. Even though she never outright said it it felt like I was being called a liar. I felt like there should have been more apology and a more serious take on it so they could find out where their mistake happened. Instead I felt like I was defending myself in a battle I had no proof of. I am thankful that customer service was able to reverse the charges but I feel like people should be warned to look out for their bill for other sneaky tactics like this.Ive been to Kalahari more times than I know. Definitely over 10. They werent doing a great job with the social distancing. Not more than a tenth of the people had mask on in the park. And probably about 80% in the halls and elevator(even most of the lifeguards didnt have them on their face). The food from their fancy restaurant arrived cold and late. And they really do nickel and dime you for every little extra thing you might want to do. Overall this will probably be my last trip for quite a few years. I would have rated it lower but the nostalgia from all the other visits is hard to corrupt (wasnt so heavy on the extras before).
We rented a king suite with a jacuzzi tub and full kitchen. The kitchen had a list of prices for items, the frying pan that I tried to use did not even sit flat on the stove, the tongs were melted and did not work great. The dishwasher smelled like a dead animal was in there. Cooking breakfast was not ideal.
Omg had so much fun.. Was my very first time going. Def somewhere to continue taking my daughter.
I absolutely love Kalahari Resorts! This will probably become my familys go-to vacationing spot. The staff was beyond friendly, the food- delicious, the rooms- amazing, comfortable, spacious and accommodating. The resort has scooters to rent for those of us who struggle with mobility with ramp access and elevators to get around... Thats not even mentioning the actual water park part which was also amazing!!! Theres many activities even if you arent a swimmer such as the spa (which I didnt get to experience) and an arcade with a variety of games including laser tag, mini golf, deal or no deal, wheel of fortune, bowling, basket ball, etc. All in all, totally worth it!!! Beware the wave pool!
The waterpark is the best. It looses points for the hotel rooms being noisy and teenagers running in and out the back doors filling up the stair cases with smoke, the prescription kind, and banging doors all night causing lack of sleep. Not handicap friendly in the waterpark. Hallways are long so you want to be in top physical shape staying here. More points lost for heavy capacity in the waterpark and lack of non swimming mask enforcement, closer than 6 feet. Will no longer bring our grandkids here as lack of security, back doors unlocked, broken safe, overcrowding during covid. Sticky tables in the room. With 108 million picture views and hundreds of reviews on Google, this is one of the most disappointing and most expensive visit we have delt with. The employees all try their best and are enjoyable, but at the very least upper management should hire security especially on weekends.
Two stars due to the fact it cost $300 for a hotel room thats like a one star hotel. You get 4-5 little pillows and theyre not comfy. Add to the bed thats super stiff makes for a bad night sleep. I cant forget the shower either the water pressure was terrible I get more from a hose. Mind you this is a water park...on top of that if something comes up missing your charged extra hopefully the cleaning staff never steal anything..otherwise your bound to get charge from something you didnt take. The water park was awesome but I think thats due to the people I went with and the great time I had with them. Otherwise Im not impressed for what they charge to enjoy it. I understand drinks are always expensive at the bars as well but $25 for a drink is just crazy..
We went to Kalahari, Sandusky, for a one-night family stay & absolutely loved it! The only reason I’m not doing 5 stars is the pricing - to use a locker inside the water park is an outrageous fee ($25!) compared to other waterpark-hotels we’ve frequented ($1-2 per use). Drinks and food were also a bit pricey, but expected. Overall though, it was a great time and we would love to do it again!
Me and my friends stayed over the last weekend. We had an amazing time and would totally recommend it to anyone of all ages. When I arrived the gentleman at the front desk (Alexander) was very welcoming and assuring. He made sure everything was what I wanted to enjoy my stay. The room was clean and beautiful. Water park was great and the adult hottub was very relaxing. We will return again.
It was awesome as it always is. I loved the wave pool and I am now old enough to be in the adult hot tub with my parents so thats nice. Overall it was a very good experience.
Amazing place, so much fun. Love the room with walk out patios convenient mini fridge, comfortable beds, the room was clean, well stocked with lots of storage space. There were chairs and a small table to sit outside. They have a small zoo with animal encounters to choose. They have an swim up bar for the adults with amazing drinks and fun bartenders. They have water slides for all ages some really large and fast, some medium size and little ones for the little kids, big kids are not aloud in the small kid section to avoid injury of the little kids. a zip line you could do winds permitting and they have an amazingly fun arcade with so many different games to play and you win tickets to get prizes, so much fun for the kids. There is a playground. There is so much art and statues to look at through out the whole place. There are swimming pools, a wave pool, heated pools, sprinkler to run through. They have candy and ice cream shop inside and they also have amazing restaurants. They also have a cafe style food center between the out doors water park and the arcade. The staff is helpful and wonderful. This place is fabulous we will definitely go back.
This place was so fun it has something for everyone in the family great indoor water slides the have nice hot tubs to relax in different places to grab a snack or something to eat the rooms wsre nice and clean with a fireplace mini fridge nice bathroom and a balcony its a place we will b going back to again very soon and honestly I would of thought we spent 5xs more then we did because I would of gladly paid it for the fun we had.
What a great vacation! Although the prices are a little high, the convenience of staying onsite if visiting the waterpark outweighs the higher pricing. The swimming area was fairly clean, and I felt it was safe for our 9-14 year-olds. The swimming areas offered many different activities; we loved the wave riders (their instructors were amazing). The arcade was very entertaining, and the Ice Cream in the courtyard upstairs was a nightly habit! The rooms were very clean. It was centrally located in Sandusky. The only issue we had was with the kids wristbands needing replacement quite often; but the location issued additional arcade credits for the repeated wristband issues we seemed to be experiencing. All-in-all, it was a great mini-vacation and we would recommend it; the kids are asking to go back.
A fun time with my family to celebrate my daughters 9th birthday. Its covid so there are certain restrictions and seemingly a lack of staff. The outside portion, which I was really hoping for, was closed. There were also a number of rude guests but thats not the fault of the staff. They were all super friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and roomy. The park was fun and I enjoyed a lot of the slides and the adult hot tub. I would go again :)
The place was beautiful, well organized an ran! Expensive! First time I ever paid $50 for a pizza an $35 for a drink!!
Just terrible. The pools were cold in comparison to other parks, the food was awful, the park expensive, the rooms were underwhelming, cheap and smelly. Room service is a joke...asked for extra blanket 1 hour ago and when called politely for a follow-up the person on other line was just rude. Hate it! Go to Great Wolf Lodge...smaller but adorable, much better experience.
First time patrons. We had a great time. Our kids really enjoyed the Rippling Rhino tube slide. This would be a 5 if it were not for the ridiculous rule of no mask while swimming (duh) but have to have it one to travel from inside to outside which they would let you walk out without it but tell you you had to have it to go back to the swimming inside. I could understand this going back in to the arcade or restaurants but not between swimming area to swimming area which a connected.
Did a fairly good job with social distancing and mask wearing. Most people respected distancing in lines. Food and drinks a bit expensive. Probably would have given it 5 stars if it werent for the huge brawl with a dozens guests in the hallway outside my room at 1:30am that terrified my daughter. Lasted 10 minutes. I tried to call the front desk and no one answered.
Not recommended if you want a clean room. If you do stay here, Id recommend NOT bringing a blacklit to your room. (my son had a little one, and asked - Dad, whats on the wall?)The microwave, the bathroom, and the around the room have clearly not been cleaned properly. We stayed October 9th/10th/2020.Corona virus is still affecting people all over the country, so to know youve stayed in a room the hasnt even been wiped down properly, is scary. We come once a year, but after my wife saw the walls, floors and microwave area, I doubt well be back.Just on a side note, almost not worth mentioning -The faucet for the tub was disturbingly loose, and the built in shower cloths line didnt work. These are minor maintenance issues and not a big deal. Certainly not post worthy items but I thought Id add them to help inform other customers.
This is a great place to get away with the kids. We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute of the time. Highly recommend.
Wave pool was blocked off with a yellow chain. People did not care and just ran through it. Fights broke out with ghetto teens 3 times and cops had to be called in the 24 hours we were there. Been going to Kalahari for 13 years. We will not be back as a result of how awful the atmosphere was and the complete lack of manners most guests lacked.
Excellent fun activities for all ages! Accommodations are nice too! Enjoyed a triple suite for the weekend with family. The kitchen had most everything you need to cook or prepare meals. The dishes arent really clean so bring your own scrubber, dryer sheets, bleach, maybe a roast pan as they have sauce pan, skillet, cookie sheet, utensils, cutlery, peeler, can opener, they have brooms, extra towels, washcloths, blankets pillows, bags, etc. The balcony is good for fresh air and a decent view
Best water park I have been to by far. So much to do for the kids we were there two days and still didnt do everything! Highly recommend
The have the best cheese pizza, and the buffet food is pretty good. Our family go at least twice a year and the kids love it. There’s so much to do here, especially in the summer months. The rooms are always clean.
Just had dinner at the B-lux food was good, didnt knock me off my feet, but good, service was great. Very nice and attentive waitress. The milkshakes are incredible a huge decadent treat
Spent 104$ per person to spend one day at the water park. I cant believe the prices for a day pass. Outside clubhouse was closed. The zip line, rope course also closed. Hardly any animals at the zoo these things cost extra anyway. New put put course is cut but that too is extra. How are you going to charge me over 400$ for a family of 4? For ONE DAY!!! Yes its a fun water park but way over priced. And your charging full price when things are not open and the outside pool closes early. Shame on you. Your resort used to be top notch but your getting worn down and shaggy looking.
The hotel rooms are clean and inviting, the water park was somewhat fun thats the positive I can muster from this stay because they are highly understaffed good luck finding anyone if you have questions, rides were very hard to find entrances to especially for a 1st time visit, you are on your own. The hotel room was beautiful but they do not enforce noise dont bother paying extra for a peaceful balcony, accompanying room played loud music until the wee hours of the morning also several police incidents with fights and attempted child abductions at park. Did not feel safe after dark. The co vid rules are also a huge joke. Would NOT recommend.
The water park closed at 8pm due to covid-19, youre not supposed to check in until 4pm... Youre welcome to spend all of your money at the arcade until 11pm thought at about $4 per game. Apparently arcade games are safer than chemically treated water? We wont go back while the hours are limited.
It was a great vacation. Definitely more tailored to family fun but a young couple can still enjoy the waterslides and fun as well. Great for the price if going midweek
Kalahari Resorts is the BEST!!!!! I remember when I went tried everything they had to offer. We live in Maryland so it was 5 hours. We stayed in a hotel in Youngstown, OH. Me and my family had so much fun. My favorite ride was the Green Slide there. We would go back but sence the Coronavirus is here you cant really do anything, I am sure everyone knows how that feels. :) :) :) :) :)
Awesome place, plenty of fun for the whole family. My children (10,11,13) and I loved it!
Not impressed. Bad experience from check in to check out. Two stars because my kids did enjoy the water when they were able to be in it.
I love this place love it love it love it. Even with out swimming I like the atmosphere, the employees, and the breakfast buffet was amazing! Thank you kalahari for amazing mini vacation!!
This place is huge! So much to do! Barely had time to check everything out, definitely plan on coming back soon! Delicious food in the restaurants, clean big rooms, nice view from the balcony. Had a wonderful time!.
Resort and Spa, no. Hotel and Water Park ding ...ding. Hit and misses all over the place. In the spirit of positivity and Zen life, hits first. Blux restaurant yum yum yummy. The food and liquor shakes well worth hundred and twenty eight dollars. I didnt like the scan menu, couldnt pull it up on my phone for atleast 10 minutes soooooo inconvenient. Swim up 21 and older bar and jacuzz grand slam. My drinks thirty bucks and refills where twenty each they where all yummy. One issue there were kids invading and recorded live. So I ended up with pool water in my drink. Parents no where insight, the bartender should of made them leave. It was a very small area with a large sign 21 and older. The 7D games so much fun a must try. Mini golf was great as well. Bring plenty of cash its worth it. Now for negative. The spa very small warm area, and the Halotherapy wasnt ready, so I cancel everything. Thats was the main service I wanted. The convention Business Center was a big attraction it was only area closed. Decor was very nice and lush its only for private events and businesses. My room was super tiny. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, bedding very cheap. Toilet paper was super cheap it was like sand paper. Room service very slow it took literally 10 hours to get towels Toilet paper and coffee, which I couldnt drink without standard cream and sugar. And I as well as another guess slipped, the floors are very slipper please be careful. Their was couple with newborn baby, which i would never bring a baby. Anyway I was so worried that they baby would be a victim of the wet floors. Its not wise to have floors that require waxing in a water park. And I really appreciate the manager whom took my complaint, and hope he address my concerns with his staff. If you are afraid of social distancing this is not the place for you. Its very crowded people arent following rules. Even during check in, a whole family very close behind me. Its supposed to be one per family check in. No one is enforcing rules its a free for all. Hopefully you want have to deal with front desk atitude embassador . Maybe she is over worked and exhausted. Or maybe she doesnt like working for a happy place .
We always love our yearly trip here. So much to do ! Great service. Never leave disappointed
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. We reserved a king bed suite with jacuzzi tub in it. We arrived at noon and our room was supposedly “ready”. I unloaded our luggage, went to clean up before we went to the water park, and there was no water in our room at all. I then talked to someone at the front desk who told me the water would be working at 4 p.m. it’s now 5:30 and the water is still not working. I then messaged the manager who tried to move us into a regular room and charge me the same amount of money for my stay. That just isn’t acceptable. I paid for a king bed suite with a whirlpool tub TO USE THE WHIRLPOOL TUB! You think a resort like this would actually care about their guests but they don’t.
Easy go find helpful and happy employees. Great for family get away
The resort is not clean at all. I thought cleaning would be going on around the clock considering all the precautions that should be taken do to Covid-19. There are liquor bottles in the parking lot. Stained floors. Trash and spills (not from wet feet) in the elevators. Our room had stained sheets.. My expectations were very high before I arrived. I was quickly disappointed in the house keeping.
I would maybe recommend the water park. Definitely not the hotel we just got back from staying the weekend. First off you have smoking marijuana in the rooms and you can smell it in the hallway but the worst part is yes they have bed bugs my husband and son woke up with bites from a bed bug and they not to concerned with it at all. My guess is they probably all ready knew.
Absolutely great...had an awesome time...staff was exceptional especially Anthony...i cant wait to come back
Something for all ages. 3 of my grandkids ages 3,7, and 13 had a blast. They enjoyed the restaurants and vending machine.
Being at Kalahari resorts Sandusky Ohio is so much fun for a family . I know because I have been going since I was a baby. It has so many things to do. If you want to relax you should head to the spa and its always nice to have some fun in the pool. You should pick aroom that works for the size of your party. There are lots of extras like shops, restaurants, game room, and candy shop. So if you are going on a trip I recommend checking out Kalahari.
The staff and everyone in the hotel and the water park where very friendly and they accommodated us with anything we needed. Ate at one of the restaurants and staff was great and food was even better.
Very kind people there, and they were all very helpful with our luggage. The water park was very enjoyable. Arcade was fun. Basically the entire thing is a miracle. The reason I’m giving this a 4 star is because the wave pool was constantly having issues and I could barely go in it.
What an adventure! Three days of water, sun, fun, and food! The service was very dependable, and the facilities were as clean as can be. I highly recommend starting the indoor water park very early as lines get very long and you are stuck on stairs for a long time. There was always something to do, and it was just a great time!
This is the complementary upgrade thanks to Melissa manager of guest services be was very prompt and very helpful about changing our room
Absolutely wonderful always a good experience coming here. Jake was an excellent bartender for the swim up bar!
Amazing place would definitely come back again its just that the prices for everything is ridiculous! But I still loved the place overall! It was clean, neat, and beautiful!
Lines are long, no masks or social distancing in the water park. They must be booking at full capacity now because it’s so overcrowded. We never managed to get in the water. There were just so many people, all crowded together in line waiting to get in the wave pool. It wasn’t worth it. The bar on the main floor was under construction so you have to go to the water park bar and wait in line. The salt spa was closed. We ended up sitting in our outdated, under cleaned room and left as soon as possible the next morning. What a waste of money! We have been going to kalahari for years and usually have a good time. I expected the experience to be different due to Covid but I didn’t think it would be this bad. You are paying the same money for half the experience. The water park closes early, the lines are long, and there are so many people! Save your money and skip this place.
At first we liked the atmosphere but then as our stay went on here are some complaints we had......outdoor adventure was closed down (zip line, mini golf, zoo), Wave pool closed down (the reason why we chose them over GWL), Buffet dinner not running, no lights in the bigger slides inside (suppose to have music and lights) so my son was to scared and wouldn’t go down,Several slides not open (staff said they had a bunch of call ins), this unfortunately caused long lines, we had a massive amount of Cigarette butts and what looked to be where someone shaved their long hair And left the pile on our patio. We let them know about this but no one ever came to clean it up our whole stay. Beyond this room service was quick and people were friendly.
I GO HERE EVERY YEAR IT IS AMAZING YOU WILL LOVE IT I AM ON MY WAY IT IS EPIC GO HERE NOW
Five stars baby!! Stayed at private villa. Park was fun as Always. But not too covid19 safe.
Ill start with the good things: kids loved it and they upgraded our room at no additional charge. Water park was pretty nice. We did two days but I will only ever do 1 if I go back. They nickel and dime big time-- Everything is overpriced. Drinks are extremely overpriced and WEAK. Its very clear the place is only in it for the money, not the experience. Its fun for a day, but bring your own drinks and have fun in your room with them. B-Luxe was the only good restaurant. The Kalahari Cuisine was bland af.
Place is amazing.Room needed some TLC, carpet needed cleaned better it was still trash on the floor, and the desk had some sticky stuff on it
My kids had a blast. Great place for some indoor water fun with the kids. Food prices will make u blink a few times but plenty of cheaper options really close to there.
We did not have air in our room for a whole day in a half. The manager was very helpful with that issue. Our dining experience was horrible we order food that was supposed to have certain ingredients and it didnt come with anything they charge us price and we still have not spoken to the restaurant manager I have called several people to get help and still nothing.
My stay was the best! Great service, fun waterslides, comfy hotels, I never wanted to leave.
Was told day before arrived by their front staff that water park would be open till 10. We ate at their restaurant that were pretty much burgers and such that were way over priced. Got kids ready to go to water park at 830 and closed at 9. Then ordered birthday balloon for daughter a 5 and received a 1. They eventually brought us the correct ballon. The breakfast food was not very good and over priced. The vr game kept cutting in and put they said ya its been happening. Everything was disorganized, life guards and staff telling us one price then told another for cabana. Was very disappointed. Not sure family and I will return.
First, there was feces in the wave pool; I notified the lifeguard and they did nothing! Literally 2 hours later and they never closed it down for cleaning!Second, lack of consistency in training. My daughter is exactly 42”, and the guard at the bottom of the inside slides said she measured fine. Waited in line, just to that the guard up top say she’s almost 2” too short! Told him the guy at the bottom said she’s good and he still wouldn’t let us on.Third, It’s amazing how many freeloaders there are. Seen at least 3-4 groups with people without tags (1 person had it, 4 others didn’t in same group), entering through exits to avoid scanning. Again, notified staff and they just brushed it off. No wonder we have to pay so much when they allow freeloaders.Fourth, I received several emails and texts before and during our stay. Not until we were getting ready to check out (9:11am) were we notified masks are required, and we could only stay until 3:00 vs until close. We lost 5 hours of time and received no notification ahead of time! The service was horrible compared to last year.
I give it a 3 star nice place to take the kids, the food prices are expensive the whole resort is over price, the sheet on the bed feel like a rough paper towel, and the towels and wash cloths has a smell they dont smell fresh as if they havent been wash with laundry detergent.
We went here for a family outing and we got a duplex room. It was spacious with ample amenities like individual TVs, furniture, washroons, etc for both rooms. The pool area is large, clean, and climate-controlled with several rides for all ages. We went there during the weekday to avoid crowds and we are pleased with the lines. Lifeguards are scattered and dutifully watching over guests. We enjoyed the wave pool, zip coaster, whirlpool, and the warm pool outside. Clean, dry towels are also available inside. The staff is also very approachable, friendly, and helpful. The food inside is kinda expensive inside but at least the resort allows bringing of outside food to your assigned rooms. As a courtesy, please dont bring outside food within the pool area.Aside from pools, theres also other entertainment options like indoor mini-golf and arcade. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again if theres a chance. The hours long drive from Michigan is definitely worth it.
We stopped for supper ( had a gift card expiring) very good food
Its crazy but fun. I feel like two days is the max you would want to spend here, but maybe Im a fuddy duddy.
I cant say enough positive things about this resort. The rooms are large and clean and the service is great. The indoor water park is so big you almost need a map to navigate it. The outdoor water park is absolutely stunning. The food is pricey but thats to be expected at a place like this. They have multiple food choices as well as bakeries in case you get a sweet tooth. We went for the colassalcon event and it was a blast! Oh, they have a really nice zoo type experience as well and you can feed the giraffe for a few bucks. Im really looking forward to my next vacation here.
The staff is excellent; however, if you believe in wearing masks this is NOT the place!!! 98% of the people do not wear masks and staff does not enforce it! We just came from Hotel Breakers where EVERYONE wore their masks. It may be a difference in clientele but it also comes down to management in my book! I do NOT feel safe! If you call the “call center” like I did they tell you a lot to make you feel comfortable, but that is NOT the reality! Staff walks past guests that are not wearing masks and literally don’t say a word!
I would definitely recommend this place nice staff very accommodating to needs of guest. Clean facility and no issues will be back again soon!
Four stars only because food prices were outrageous. If you choose to stay bring food or plan on eating out. Plenty of restaurants for all ages.
There wave pool is really fun, and the waterslides they go really fast I would recommend the toilet bowl was super fun . The game room has lots of cool prizes really nice employee s and they have a Starbucks
I enjoyed the water slidesI really enjoyed the time with my friends
Hi, everybody! I must just say that: though personally, Ive never visited this resorts place yet, still, for right now, since this Tuesday, August 18, 2,020[this same date of my Christian elderly uncles 62nd special birthday], the only thing I can say is special about this Kalahari Resorts Sandusky hotel is that, my now-33-year-old sister & her 2 little children [yes, my 12-year-old almost-teen nephew & 2-year-old toddler niece] had together gone to & visited that hotel there for 2 days till by maybe almost this evening!
Such a fun place to spend a weekend with the family! There is something for everyone! A little pricey for drinks and food inside of the park, but it was still so much fun!
We had a ball with the kids must do it again soon
Absolutely shameful what you posted on your digital sign. This is not how any company should behave. It just goes to show how little regard this company has for the health of its guests. We were underwhelmed on our first visit to Kalahari a few years ago and we will not be returning.
Kalahari was another great experience!! The girls had plenty to do with the indoor and outdoor swim park!! Our breakfast lunch and dinners were really great as well! The room we stayed in was clean and provided us enough space for our family to relax! I highly recommend Kalahari resort!! 5 out of 5 stars!
The pool was great, slides were fun, lazy river was relaxing, the animals were cute, everything was amazing.
Very disappointed with our stay. The whole place smelled like cigarettes. People were smoking everywhere. They said the place was at 50% capacity and was still packed. No social distancing. Tons of people without masks and no one doing anything about it. The parking lot was full of trash. My son loved the outdoor area. The inside was a huge disappointment though.
First time at Kalahari! Lifeguards were very attentive and friendly. I checked the website before booking to ensure things were open.....not all pools and water festivities were open and this is something they should communicate before booking. I spoke with guest services and she said well maam I cant make them open .......we booked a village suite for 2 nights and bathrooms in our room smelled of urine, the shower curtains smelled of mildew, trash under the pull put sofa, the dishwasher had food buildup stuck in the bottom of it and there was mold in the jets of the in room jetted tub. For $1600 for a village suite for 2 nights not what I expected to spend my money on.
Those stairs to get to the WATER slides are not for the faint at heart.. lol we stayed in the Entertainment Villa in NY-UM-BA and had a ball.. very modern and spacious.. booking again soon!!
The kids loved it all the inside water park fun for all ages and I love the zoo
Loved the indoor park. But they did a terrible job of letting you know that they would actually weight you at the top on the stairs to the slides outside. So I waited almost 30 minutes in line just to find out that they made me stand on a scale in front of everyone at the top and be told that I was too heavy to go on any of the slides. Would not recommend going to the outdoor waterpark unless you are under 200 lbs.Side note: There are a ton of Pokemon Go sites there.
