Made tee time for us, paid and then the older gentleman manning the carts told us we needed to be back within an hour. No problem, done. Then in a hurry, left wallet in the cart. My husbandss wallet was returned $100 short. Family has been going for years. No apologies and super rude. Was told we were lucky to get anything back. Horrible customer service and actual thieves.
Tucked along the shores of scenic Lake San Marcos, St. Mark Golf Club is one of the area’s golf gems. The course is located on the Lakehouse Hotel and Resort grounds and plays about 6,500 yards from the blue tees. The par-71 course’s 18 holes wind their way through various natural environments, including treed and open desert areas that feature changes in elevation, sand and water hazards, and tiered greens.Other club amenities include a pro shop, a restaurant, pre-round practice areas, and private lessons offered by professionals that are appropriate for most ages and skill levels.
Lovely community course equipped with friendly staffs and people around. Semi- challenge course design, not easy green but large enough fairway for landing.Play two games in two days, had lots of fun to pair up with two gentlemen from Taylor made company and two ladies celebrating birthday here.
Went for lunch today and though its pricey, we split a delicious tuna melt sandwich and fries. They are keeping everything very clean and disinfecting tables and chairs. Was fun to watch the golfers.
Course was in great condition. It, the driving range, and the cafe were packed.
Great vibe here! A hidden gem! Way better than that other members only golf club in Vista!
BEWARE OF FAKE REVIEWSMany reviews for this golf course are fake, likely paid for by St Mark.St. Mark is still gouging golfers with rate increases. $40 to walk plus $20 in cart fees is outrageous, this golf course is a $30 to maybe $40 course MAX w/ cart. Their executive course is still gouging as well.Ever since corona panic started St. Mark has done a horrible job with customer service and providing golfers a good experience. Staff have been rude and generally unlikeable. I have played here twice since courses were able to open up and it was a horrible experience each time.Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos still offers normal rates, so does Arrowood in Oceanside. It is a shame that St. Mark is continuing these rate increases.
This is one of my favorite local courses. It offers great balance. There are a few very challenging holes, a few easy ones where you can just let it rip, and a handful of middling holes. It has a signature hole, in my opinion - #14, a par 4 from an elevated tee - something many local courses are lacking. Its also much lusher than many of the other local courses. Its a well-kept, nice course, just not as pristine, and beautiful as some of the others in the area. Update, October 2017. Theyve done some wonderful improvements in the clubhouse and restaurant. Great place for lunch. However, I was disappointed with the greens. They need some TLC.
Very rude guys in club house. Slow slow play. Greens were super slow. Course is in bad shape. Some of the fairways are damaged badly. Tee boxes on par 3 are badly wore down. Not worth it. Don’t play here. Zero stars
Great greens and great food on the grill
Ive always enjoyed playing St. Marks and today I had my first lesson with Ken. Im a novice golfer and he gave me some great areas to focus on.
St Mark is not a bad golf course but what is bad is that they have been gouging golfers with rate increases. It is normally $30-$40 to play this course during the week or weekend with a cart but now they are charging $40 to walk PLUS a $20 cart fee. $60 to play this course is outrageous and I will be golfing here less because of it.Golfers shouldnt be punished because golf courses were forced to close for two months. When St Mark stops gouging their customers I will return but for now I will be going elsewhere. They could charge $40 and Ill be there 2-3 times a week, but with this rate increase they wont see any business from me or my playing partners.
Pro shop very discourteous and unaccommodating. Not what golf is supposed to be. I work in the golf industry and I would not play here if you paid me. Will not recommend nor return, ever!
Youre golf course looks nice.
Ive golfed here a few times and have enjoyed each round. Definitely a challenge to make your drive go over the water as you near the end of the round on the back 9, but you have to try! You could always layup but its not basketball lol! Plus this place hosts the annual golf tourney that one of my bros has for his sister that unfortunately left us too soon. That in itself is 5 stars
Had a great fathers day weekend love my friends!
Always fun golfing. Staff is so awesome. Very friendly and helpful.
Got that this course open during difficult time, but Sunday after 2 pm on March walking $51??? No thank you...
Oh St Marks what is going on, I have been playing here for years and never seen the course in worse shape, the greens are awful and many of the fairways in bad shape. At least drop your prices while things are this bad.Come back after a long time not playing and have to say they have done a great job on the greens, VERY GOOD!
Each hole is unique. Course is in better shape every year since new owners purchased in mid 2012. Greens are usually in excellent shape. Looks like they are always rolled for the weekend. Good walking course if you prefer. If you come from out of town, great, because this is a resort course. There is an executive course on site, a new two story hotel, a private lake for residents, and hotel guests. Before the end of 2016 there will be a new quality restaurant on the lake for everyone. This course, unlike many others in San Diego north county, is on the upswing. Club House remodeling should follow the restaurant opening. Same owners with all the facilities so synergy is apparent. Seven miles from ocean so weather is excellent. Best to be a good player or at least a fairly straight shooter as private homes--while out of bounds--do come into play. Very helpful staff. A unique experience and a good golf course.
Wow. Played here 2 years ago and wonder if the maintenance crew was fired back then. The course is in utter disarray. There is literally more ground under repair on the fairways than grass. Its sad this course charges $46 after 1pm to play a course that looks more like than the remains of Kilauea than an actual golf course. Dont plan on playing here unless you have 5+ hours of your life to waste away and money to burn. Consider yourself warned!!
Nice course. Not too long. Has some easy holes and some tough holes. Great short game practice area. Friendly staff. Good restaurant. Can be hard to find. You want to use gps to get there.
The course is a lot of fun, challenging and tough to master all the holes. Of course hole 14 is the best with an amazing view. Greens are sometimes bumpy but overall fast.
Pretty basic architecture but rather good conditions, great service from nice people
Worst greens in San Diego.
Golf course is in amazing condition! Greens are the best. Yes period.
It is nice place to take a rest and play golf. Beautiful lake, good restaurants and nice views
Great place. The improvements on the course are nothing short of amazing. BEST GREENS IN SAN DIEGO.
Nice facilities, course in good shap except fo too much water in spots, and pro staff very nice
Great service, good food, great view.Good times.
The best place for lunch and the best customer service
Not good for walking. Too much uphill climbing!
Great!
Swampy greens, slow play
Good breakfast
