We have gone rubbing here years ago and had so much fun. We just moved back to the area and went to find out if the place was still there and WOW! They have built the place up so nicely. I can not wait to get a tube in here this summer! It is so beautiful and peaceful, right in the heart of San Marcos

Awesome sauce! Its accessible tubing for reasonable prices. Located directly on the river, after you pay for your tubes/lifejackets/return shuttle, you can jump directly in the river and start your ~60 minute float. The river flows at a very sedate pace, so expect a wonderfully relaxing adventure. And if youd like to get your adrenaline pumping? Theres an optional rapids at end of the float. Its family friendly fun and you can pack refreshment for your ride. Awesome sauce!

Always a great place to jump in and cool off at the San Marcos river. Sometimes a bit crowded, but friendly folks and restrooms. Its unfortunate that after reading other reviews I feel compelled to add...if you cant swim and wont wear a life jacket dont go tubing. Not here, not anywhere. ALSO, if you dont secure your belongings while tubing you may lose them. FINALLY, Not knowing or admitting your limitations does not warrant negative or 1 star reviews.

Bring your own tube, you can rent them there, or they can inflate your tubes for $2. Parking is free just difficult to find a parking spot. But people come and go. The store sells sunscreen, water pouches, small insulated colorful bags, etc. Very nice staff and very helpful a lot. Restroom stay as clean as they can.

This place is great for all ages, 2 and 4 legged, the river is calm and clear! Only $28 for 2 of us, and we went 3 times!!! Definately recomend, it only takes 45 minutes to go through so its nice to be able to get off and play in the Rapids in the end!!

Have done this float for years now....great bargain and amazing staff! Texas friendly and helpful at all times. They totally redid the parking lot and facility and it is much easier to get in and get on the river! The river is beautiful and the perfect place to be during the summer heat...the only negative would be the inconsiderate morons playing music very loudly as they float and drink their beer...other than that...a huge thumbs-up!

Um, Coronavirus anyone? ...I love going to this place so much. We were there last Sunday. It was super crowded and my husband and I were THE ONLY 2 humans in inner-tubes wearing MASKS. Y’all need to take precautions.

Relaxing weekend fun! It was clean people were friendly and the river fall was fun but should not be allowed for toddler or kids current is very strong. Tubes are available for rental if you don’t have yours.

Great place to go swimming, tubing, and kayaking. Went kayaking dont need no permit to park. As long as you use that area you are good to use the parking lot.

We had an amazing time in San Marcos and coming here made it that much better! The rates are affordable and if you bring your own tube they have filling stations to air them up or the staff will assist you. The tube & locker rentals are affordable as well. The San Marcos River is beautiful and a crisp chilled temperature which makes it refreshing on those brutal Texas summer days!

Love this place ... Staff people are really nice, other tubers are friendly, the lazy river ride is nice and relaxing - you can enjoy your music and beverage of choice, then the shuttle drivers driving you back to the pick up point are awesome people! This place has it all! I highly recommend it! Wish they were open year round hee! hee! hee!

This is a fun ride however......... the only way out is a straight pool type ladder. If you have had knee, hip, or shoulder surgery it’s difficult to get out.

Everything was fine but just a little longer waiting time for the shuttle

Good value for the money, and a great place to take the younger kids. The ride is short, only an hour or so straight tubing. Youre not spending 3 hours with the kids whining about wanting to go home. You can ride as much as you want, so thats cool. Just get out,, give em. Your tube and get on the bus. Rotations are quick. Youll be back on the river in 15 mins. Be advised, if youre a little heavier or taller, the yellow rental tubes are fairly small and uncomfortable. Bring your own or buy one there, they have air and you can take it on the bus.

Ive never been anywhere but here. They do it all, so convenient. Two trips and were wiped out lol they hire the sweetest people. I always get a locker for my purse. I buy the twine from them to tie us together. Get there early, parking can be a struggle otherwise

We had a great time. Things to know: the only shuts are at the end, the end can get really crowded, and the bathrooms were pretty gross. You can bring your own tubes and just get a shuttle pass, and they have air for $2. They also have rope for $1. Otherwise a great experience!

Staff was really good at explaining everything and how it all works. I was really impressed as most of the staff seems like they are teenagers but they were all very professional especially with how many of the people renting tubes were drunk or near drunk so kudos to them on that one. Tubing down the river was super fun and relaxing and was an awesome experience. Would love to come here again if Im ever in town.

This place was so much fun! We came in a group to spend memorial weekend and we loved it. You can rent or bring your own inflatable tube. Try to get there early because a lot of people show up after 12 and you would park kinda far from the entrance.There are several rules that you need to fallow make sure to look them up on the website.

$14 per person to rent a tube for the day (with or without a bottom lining) and unlimited shuttles back to the top. We did the float twice. Each time down was 45mi -1hour. Bring drinks and sunscreen. A beer cooler float isn’t for rent: you have to buy one I believe for $18 (not positive) or you can rent another tube with a bottom lining for the cooler. Lots of people but lots of fun. Parking is definitely there but getting a close spot is virtually impossible so be prepared to walk. Good and friendly service.

Its a beautiful place with friendly faces. Ive been a customer here since I was a kid so about 25 yrs. The change over the years has been gradual but positive. I remember going to girlscout camp when Lions club was a garage where all the friends of the library book sales took place during the mid 90s. I have wonderful memories of participating in Lions club activities. Its nice to see it has continued to grow in tradition and positivity.

Its convenient for location to get into the San Marcos River right there off Aquamarina Springs behind TX State baseball fields. Also, for a nominal fee, they will provide you with a float and and pick you up at at the end of of the ride (about an hour) and take you back to your vehicle.

Beautiful to be one with the nature. My wife & I overwhelmed by people showing respect to wildlife & each other. The staff of lions club were friendly & helpful throughout our experience. River tubing in this location is strict which I do like because it attract less crowd & party goers.

BUY A TUBE ONLINE! Renting is a scam. Its cheaper on amazon, just give it away when youre done if you dont plan on coming back. The walk from end to start of the float is only like 10 minutes. Otherwise, the float is great. Very relaxing for hot weather. Its shady for over 50% of the time

After waiting 30+ minutes in line with only $30 cash (I left my wallet in the car... because it’s a river float), the cashier told me that a credit card or $40 deposit is required. This is not mentioned anywhere on the website, by any of the attendants walking around, or posted on any sign in the vicinity. I had to walk 15 minutes back to my car, 15 minutes back to the counter, and wait another 30 minutes in line. This is crucial information, because Who brings $68 cash to a river float rental When prices are listed at $14?!Update: The Lions club has responded to me. Their website (which took a fair bit of searching) does state the price for the deposit, but their website is also not the first website (by any means) when you search for it *ahem* City of San Marcos website. Regardless, the deposit amount is not posted ANYWHERE in or near their facility. Nor do the associates walking around mention it. My experience was still awful due to this lack of critical information. I would have left the line to grab cash immediately if I had seen a sign or overheard someone stating a cash deposit price.

A great spot to float down the river

I love to go here but the stairs next to the lions club access to the water is super slippery! I saw 5 people slip in one hour. Thank God I had my daughter there to help me down the steps with my crutches, I went real slow to keep me from falling. The water felt nice and cool on my injured leg.

This is the friendliest tubing company on earth! They answered all my questions and help guide me through my first tubing trip. I love the affordable prices and the amount of land they have just for you to relax in the sun. I love how close to the water they are too. Also their buses are perfect! Love it

Staff is great! They explain everything very well, float length (river flow) and where to get out. Shuttle pick up is a breeze. They take your tube, give you a token, and youre free to continue playing in the water there until youre ready to go. Once you get back to the start, you can even leave and come back as long as you have the token. (You will lose your parking spot though.)They have a little shop where you can purchase things like water pouches and boxes, sunglasses straps, tubes, sunblock, etc. Good for those things you forgot!

This place is a must if yall a true Texan. Water cold but with this Texas heat youll never wanna leave.

Love this river. The water is so clear you can see the bottom seeing the fish and turtles who wouldnt enjoy that ?!? Great spot for even the kids to swim... Can enjoy a whole day here !

Awesome experimence. Can rent a tube and they shuttle you back for $12. Just bring a water proof case for your phone, a small cooler for refreshments and they have lockers to rent for your keys. May want to bring rope if you want to the tubes together. Suggest water shoes as you could lose your flip flops in the rapids. And dont forget the sunscreen!. Trip takes about an hour, hour and a half depending on how many slow zones you hit.

Theyve renovated since last time I was here. Pretty reasonable cost considering you can stay and float all day.

It was an awesome trip. Had so much fun. The water was cold at first, but once you got used to it, it was fine. Went down the river twice and the drivers for the Vans, were super nice.

Friendly staff, good facilities, but the river ride is only 1 hour and is waaaay too short. You do get unlimited rides, but you have to ride back to the start, and it takes like 15-20 min. Only good if you want a short tube ride

Went here yesterday with coworkers. Very pleasant experience overall. I recommend going early because this place gets packed ! Make sure you leave your items that you don’t want to loose in your car, it is quite easy to loose your belongings in the water. Also I recommend non-swimmers and inexperienced swimmers to not go down the rapids! Me and some friends literally almost drowned. Not to mention, I had banged my knee against a rock. That was my favorite knee Shoutout to Roderick for saving my life . Have fun and be safe !

My favorite place to tube in New Braunfels. Its less expensive during the week with your own tube. You can ride as many times as you want. The float is 45 minutes and super easy with clear water, no rapids to get caught in, no rocks and twigs to get caught on.

Busy, but worth the money if youre from out of town. Go easy on paddling, it isnt anything like a three hour float.

This place was very clean, organized, and safe to enjoy the ride down the river on our tubes. It was also nice that the ride started straight from the river instead of taking a shuttle bus with the tubes.

Great place to come too.... Im a regular here every summer ever there weekend floating it up ....prices went up this year tho but still worth it $8 all day bus rides and $2 air fill ups .... so my only suggestion is bring ya own tubes and pumps and its a 8 dollar day from 10 am to 6pm

I was very leery to get into a natural body of water. Its not like going to the beach. However, Im so happy that I did! The water was clear and cold. Like really cold l, which is perfect on a hot summer day. Gave it 4 stars because we arrived at 5:35pm abd they would not allow us to rent a tube. Yes their cut off time is 5:30pm, but technically we got there on time but we had to wait in line. They should have a grace period.

~7-8-2018~ Great place! If you want to go to the river, get a tube or rent one! Because there is a point where it gets really deep and not even a tall man can touch the floor! So get a tube or something to keep you safe! Other than that, me and my family had a fun time! It was good to come back since I was 6!

Worst experience of my LIFE! They fail to tell you about how dangerous the end of the river down the rapids. If you would like to drown, or commit suicide this is the perfect place. The water is extremely deep and they do NOT advise or suggest that you wear life vest! Their are locals at the end of the current by the rapids taking all of your belongings that might fall off if you flip down the waterfall (like I did, hat and $800 sunglasses stolen) I will never go again! Save yourself a family trip

For us the place is nice and almost well kept. However, the reason why I gave this place a 1 star is because we are not aware the the river was too deep for us to enjoy it. My kids didnt enjoy the experience either since the water is too deep and the underwater current is too strong. Management should notify guests on how deep the water is. Also, the floating trash cans are disgusting they are not maintained. All of them already emits a very foul odor like there was a dead carcass beside you when you pass these floating trash cans. Please try to clean them.

Decent price to air up your own tubes or buy a shuttle pass. The parking is great here, even during peak tubing season. No complaints!

If you go on weekdays then expect lots of waiting time in line for purchases, but otherwise the river was really nice. If you take drinks onto the river then you can toss your trash at two litter boats along the river if you cant wait till you get out.

I had an absolute blast in the river with my friends, even though my friend Tyrone cannot swim and I had to keep him from drowning in numerous times. But my friend Omar and I had a lot of fun going down the waterfall, just be careful if you are not a strong swimmer.

Love love love this place!! 14 dollars for a Tube and shuttle all day. Perfect for first timers and families with kids. The rapids at the end were a blast and everyone from the staff at the registers to the shuttle drivers are all super nice. Later in the afternoon we were met by drunk college students but we are in a college town so I guess thats to be expected. My tips are to wear water shoes, and brace yourself fot the cold water!! Its a gorgeous river but extra cold, we will be back next summer to continue our family tradition of floating the San Marcos river with the Lions club!!

Needs more information about the rocks. Alot of ppl got really jacked up hitting rocks. There was no warning or even signs. I guess the regulars know but out of towners were scraped up pretty bad

Good place for outing. Nice family adventure and fun. The water is not to deep but at some places its almost 6-7 feet. On side shores its around 3-5 feet. No life guards. Must carry life jackets for kids for added safety. Although you will always find lots of people around but why take risk. River flows is very slow which is good. Water is not so clear but not bad. Very poor shuttle service for coming back. Water is mildly cold but good. The tubing ride is almost of half a mile.

I totally had have fun, I enjoyed myself floating down the river, it was very peaceful, relaxing, and towards the end the Rapids which was very exciting with my sons Josue Gutierrez and Jose Jaime...

My friends and I nearly died here, we had such a scary experience. The workers did not tell us about the DANGEROUS rapids at the end of the river. Our tubes all flipped over, all of our belongings fell. My friend fell out of her tube, I hit some rocks, and my other friend got tangled in her tube. We all nearly DROWNED! There was no life guard on duty, and we lost our belongings. We only survived because we were lucky enough some random people decided to save us as we struggled down the current. I have been floating to many other places and this was the WORST yet.

Lions Club is in my top 5 of tube rentals and floating spots. Its very easy to access and they are very organized. Its very close to campus and friendly

Theres a little store if you need sunscreen or any essentials for your trip! Reasonably priced! Things to know: there is only one area with three shuts and its at the end of the float and the bathrooms were pretty gross and super small. It was really hard to change in there.
