The nicest people, and such a fun activity!
Great, helpful staff. Lots of options, lots of fun, great for making special memories & gifts, and lead-free glazes too. They work w/ vacationers if you cant return for follow up glazing & take home. Was a real blessing for our family after such a long hard year at City of Hope! Thank you ACP studio staff! We cant wait for our handmade pottery to arrive home:)
My wife and I took the Friday date night class. We had a great time. The class is 2 hours and my wife made 5 different items. 2 clay. 2 on the wheel, and then a sculpture. I was a bit slower but still made 3 items.I recommend trying it out. Fun! Teachers are friendly and supportive.
My daughters class had a field trip to the studio and I was really impressed with how well the staff did having 9 kids to teach all at the same time. The kids made boxes and they were able to use any of the tools and molds they could see to decorate the boxes. They let the kids make a mess and they got involved in the whole process. I will definitely be back .
Wow, this place has really good ratings and I have to say, this was NOT our experience.I took my 8 year old daughter to a children’s pottery class (a 90 minute class). They were busy and understaffed. Shevon (the owner) was cold and standoffish form the start. The 2 employees finally got all the kids set up. My daughter made a plate using the roller and a vase on the pottery wheel in the first 30 minutes of class. The class seemed to be underway, so I left to get a cup of coffee. When I returned an hour later, my daughter was just standing around watching the other kids free build with clay (this is unlike her, she’s a go getter and always jumps right into projects). Come to find out that in the HOUR that I was gone she did not make anything, NOT ONE THING. I feel it is reasonable to expect that in an hour an almost 9yo would make 2-3 things she is proud of. When I asked my daughter about this she said she received inadequate help. They either moved her hands on the wheel the whole time (so she balled up the bowl to start over as she wanted to make it herself) or could not find help. I’m not sure if this is because they don’t know how to teach children or were too busy to adequately instruct. My daughter left sad and disappointed. She loves art and really loves messy art, so I expected this to be a good experience for her and it was not.Then...they expected us to come back and pay another session fee to glaze the two things she made (which would take, what....20 minutes of the 90 min studio session...). I complained and asked to come back in so that my daughter could make a few more pieces at a less busy time and Shevon was rude, cold and inflexible. Shevon offered a refund, which I eventually agreed to. I find it telling that the owner would rather give us our money back than correct her mistake of an understaffed studio and make the art experience a positive one for her clients. This was an all around bad experience.
I came in on a Friday for the adult beginners class and I had a great time! Chloe was very hands on and was so encouraging. Even the other people using the space there were helping me which was wonderful because I wasnt feeling confident. I made three pieces while I was there and definitely want to go back.
Great place! The staff is amazing. So many glazes to choose from. Friendly environment, lots of hands on instruction.
Steph and Shevon have a lovely way of teaching letting you discover and having great patience. It is a great place to learn sculpture, ska work and throwing clay with lots of tools, glazes and inspiration from others work. Try it! Youll love it!!
The first day i went there i was abel to make anything i wated. It was a good experience.
Very friendly staff and kid friendly. Pottery 10-40 dollars and 10 dollars to fire it up
