Came here twice during our visit to SF and had a great time both times. Very big space with several TVs, tables, and billiards. Both times we came and ordered some food and played some board games. We came during the afternoon and didnt encounter a lot of people, so the ambiance was nice and quiet (not too loud, so it was easy to hear each other, which is nice while gaming). The second time I got their steak frites and this was pretty good, not the best, but the vibe of the place and the availability of board games makes me rate this place 5 stars!
Popped in on the way home for a drink. Chilled atmosphere with a pool hall out the back. To my surprise I had my best beer of the day here. It was a rotating IPA tap and it was banging. Service could have come with a bit more of a smile... sat at the bar and not sure the staff wanted to be there? Werent sure of the beers they were serving either...
Awesome atmosphere and the people that work there are great. You can book parties here and the food is good. The menu is a bit limited and their prices are a bit steep but its San Francisco and it is a nice place. Also they have good beer!
This place has the best pool tables in town. Theyre level and well kept. The rails bounce right. Its not that expensive, and they have lots of tables. The food and drinks are good too.
Came here for a pint on a late rainy Saturday afternoon. So not many people in the place. Great for us, as we immediately sat at the bar with great giant screens to watch all the football games and enjoy a cold beer. We were 1 and done, but wouldnt mind coming here again. Pool tables, board games and a nice bar/beer selection.
Worst everything ever. Went last night for a Tabletop Tap House event. Ordered a grilled cheese hold the bacon, and two glasses of water no ice please.
Came for a casual pub where we could talk bridge. Was happy to discover amazing food. The Brussels Sprouts, Coca-Cola BBQ wings, and hot dog were all delicious. Will definitely recommend to others at the tournament!
Waited 10+ minutes at the door next to the host station to be seated along with two other couples, nobody even acknowledged our presence. We finally walked toward the dining room to try and get someones attention; when someone finally spoke to us they said theyd be right back. 5 minutes later and they never returned, so we found a couple seats at the bar.The only highlight of the night was relatively quick service for our drinks, but then over the next 15 minutes nobody ever returned to see if we wanted to order food (we did). We finished our drinks without anyone else speaking to us, paid, and left.
Solid spot for drinks and surprisingly decent food. Probably better for games and events. On an average Friday evening its got a weird dead vibe and theyll do last call at like 10pm.
Got to go there as part of a conference. The staff are great and they had to be stressed from an open bar conference full of people, yet they took the time to smile and be goofy, thats good service. I dont know if they make all of the food, if they do, it was goooood. Like better than you would expect from a bar good. And if you tip them even at a free event, you get really nice shots and drinks. Love this place.
Its right across the street from the convention center - so perfect for lunch during a conference. The food is good, and if its not overly crowded the service is good too. We ate there several times during a 4 day conference.
Management is clueless! Check at the restaurant at lunchtime, to make sure there would be ample space for the football game Thursday night. When we returned to the restaurant at 5 PM, we were told they were closed for a private event all evening. Managers really need to work on communicating! Won’t be back
A couple of the girls are hard working, totally stressed out, but the guys just might be high. Or stoned. It took too long to order our beverages and food and it took way to long to get served. The pizza crust almost tasted plastic, the burger wasn’t well done as asked for and it was pretty much the same for the company right next to us.And what happened to the mayo we ordered?Nice location but unfortunately not a nice experience. I feel sorry some of the staff.
This place feels a bit more like an event venue than a board game bar. They dont have food that goes well with board games, and the place is huge (big enough that it feels pretty quiet even when there are many people in there). Cocktails are good, board game selection is pretty good.
One of the best places to meet some friends or co-workers after work. The bar has an amazing selection and the food is equally as good. They have regulation size pool tables and various games. Worth checking out.
Really cool space. The drinks are good, and the staff is vigilant about keeping the place clean. The only complaint I have is that we got served water, and then didnt see our waiter again for 40-50 minutes to order drinks and food. There was a private event, so maybe that was making them very busy, but it was a bit crazy how long it took us to get served once we were seated. However, once we got our food and drinks, they were delicious.
Job holiday party... cant judge they were on their best behavior. Ill catch them at another time.
The tabletop tap house is a great place from the limited time Id spent there. We had attended an event there, but ended up back there a couple of days later. The event was great, and its always a lot of fun playing pool while out. The second visit we had was also nice, but sullied slightly by the manager getting unusually hostile when we went to use a pool table reserved for someone else, considering we didnt know that this was a requirement and the table was empty at the time. Just a one-off though, Im sure.
$11 for cheese pizza that tastes like a lunchables. Buffalo wings were good. Drink service was somewhat slow, and their co2 was out, so no beers on draft.
I’ve never left a review before but unfortunately I felt the need to. I’m actually at the “bar” right now and I’ve been here for about 15 minutes. The decor is nice and I don’t mind the screens or loud group playing games. That’s cool. My issue is with my server. He came over and acted as if I was a nuisance in his presence. Didn’t introduce himself or even say hi, just “what do you want”. Like really? I was shocked and so just said I’ll start off with a water to start, he rolled his eyes and walked away. When he came back I then told I’d like a whiskey sour because I was still deciding what I wanted to eat. He then tried to snatch the menu, but I repeated that I’m going to still order food. It wasn’t until he brought the drink that I finally got his name, after asking for it. “Boogie” is his name. He then tried to take the menu out of my hands this time, but I told him once again that I’m going to be ordering food. He rolled his eyes, huffed, and walked away.So I can’t review the food, because I’m not staying long enough to try. The whiskey sour is not very good, I’m not sure how you can mess up a simple drink as this, and the service is just horrible. But I’m glad the group across from me is having fun.....
Great flavor, portion size as i like it. Several spots for group dinners.
I have yet to have a good experience here. Ive only been twice so far and both times, once at the bar and once at a table I was never waited on or asked if I wanted something. At the bar, seats were crowded but it was not busy in the sense that the bar tenders were standing around and not asking me for a drink order, after 10 minutes of watching them not helping people I left.At the table I sat with 3 other friends, we waited 15 minutes and no one once came to our table for even a drink order. We left. This place was better as Gillians imho.
It was pretty fun with a large group. We had fun playing card games. Plenty of space and huge screens for a sports game. The service was decent. Only docked a star because they forgot my beer and they didnt warn us that the kitchen was closed.
Its usually pretty fair to judge a place by its staff and by its clientele. Tabletop is no exception. Snuggled in the SOMA, the ambience is cool, relaxed and as friendly as it gets! I was surprised I havent heard more about it and have pinpointed it on my map. Ive every intention of going back... Perhaps Ill bring some friends and see you there?
Great place to play pool, but call ahead because theyre often reserved for parties and convention goers.
Love this place! Relaxing ambiance and great food. We also enjoyed playing their board games. Overall, great service and experience.
I dont review places often. And certainly dont like being negative, but our Tabletop experience had little to be desired. Aesthetically, the place is great. Its the kind of atmosphere I love, but the food and service was beyond bad. The chips in the Rojos appetizer were cold and limp, the chicken wings tasted freezer burnt and the young lady that waited on us, bless her heart, just needed more experience as a waitress. We had to find her when we wanted more drinks.
Go for drinks but go somewhere else for food. We had a group of 8 last night and the only dish we had that was decent were the wings appetizer. Pizzas were bland and terrible. Greek salad had no Feta on it as advertised and when questioned they brought mozzarella.
Very good ambiance for playing pool and drinking beer. Food sucks...
Used to be Julians, nice interior, excellent and board game selection. Food was good, but the fish n chips burgers doesnt work. Service was great too.
The food is the most delicious and ken is very nice person
Very good ambience perfect place for team outings. The food was very average though.
Terrible service! Waited 2 hours no food. Informed Manager and he became argumentative. Stay away!!!
I love that place is great and awsome.
Friendly Service, Good Food
Nice bar with a nice beer selection. Pricing is on par for the market. I came here hoping to play pool, but $20/hr for an 8 gold crown is just too steep.
Been here twice with a group of friends to play classic boardgames and drink beer. The space is huge...almost too big. Theres plenty of sofas, a dining space with long tables, a few bar tops and a room full of pool tables. Youre almost guaranteed a spot for a larger group. Hours are not ideal (we were told they were closing up and it was approximately 10pm on a Friday) and the website says 11am-close which is not helpful. Hours listed on Google are not accurate. Bathrooms needed major attention and looked like they hadnt been cleaned all day. Service was meh, had to ask for my ID back several times (you use it to rent boardgames). Im hopeful. Will be back at some point.
We didnt try the food, but the drinks were amazing. Cozy atmosphere with tons of board games. Super friendly and helpful bartender. Delicious drinks!
Pricey place. Decent selection of beer. Bartender isnt always the same, so quality changes. Pool tables and cues are clean and in good shape. Not always full or open late after 12AM.
Went for lunch during a convention. Was told it would be 30 min for a single seat but walked past the host and found three seats at the bar available. While packed I cant help but to feel like the restaurant adjacent to the convention center should know what to expect and they were clearly outnumbered and understaffed.
A bit expensive, I ordered some nuts for $7 and they were like burned, not so good. Billard and board games are great!
Awesome Bar!! Thanks for hosting the NBA Finals Food is delicious, space is ample, atmosphere is on point
Vegan impossible burger sliders. Amazing ambience. Great board games, tv screens and pool tables.
We had an okay experience. We went for lunch and while they werent quite busy, it took our server awhile to take our orders. Our food was brought very quickly to the table, but, the drinks that we ordered along with them were not served until we were pretty much halfway done with our food. Our server came back to ask if everything if okay and we inquired about our drinks and they had to ask us again what we ordered. They also brought it to the wrong table. Im not sure if our server was just having an off day but we kind of expected to get our drinks fast due to the fact it is a tap house. Aside from this, the food was good - we enjoyed the fries.
Racially profiled from the 1st minute I walked in the door. I hope youre not black and try and go in there for anything. I give a 0 rating if possible
Such a great place for hanging with friends
There for a conference and they had a lunch there. Good food and nice atmosphere
Very slow and inattentive service for large group. Bill seemed to have extra charges. Otherwise, nice space with good beer selection.
Good sports bar, adjacent to the Moscone North and across the street from Moscone West. Great wings, great beer, clean and comfy, friendly and quick service.
Great drinks and quick snacks, but the waiter wasn’t completely “with-it” ie, didn’t show any personality. You know, Luke they really didn’t want to go to work today... thank kind of vibe.
Great food! My burger was cooked as requested, a perfect medium rare. But Matthew, our server, was exceptional! He handled our large group perfectly, was prompt, and got us out fast!
I had previously seen pretty negative reviews of Tabletop on Yelp and was confused by all of them. A few friends and I came here for some drinks, snacks and board games and had a great time.Theyve got about 20-30 games of different types. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was good, and theyve got a solid beer selection.
Slow service and a pretty underwhelming beer list.
Nice space. Good appetizers. Visited during a function, the food was pretty good.
Great food and atmosphere. Its the perfect option for any group looking for fun. There is something for everyone.
Great pool, drinks and food choices
This place was okay and seems great for a sports bar. Went for lunch, place was dead when I visited and our server bounced for break or lunch. Was impossible to find someone to pay the bill and took forever. Maybe better during the evening
Really nice space with a decent selection of beers. In a great location right across the road from the Moscone West.
I bet this place splits opinions. There are a lot of things this bar does well. The decor is slick, and there is a small but reasonable selection of board games, pool, and a few big screens for sports. However, at least by name and logo Tabletop advertises itself as a place to play a boardgame. If youre trying to play boardgames other than the party game variety, youll probably find the loud music and big screens off-putting.The food is average when compared to other bars. Even given location, I found it a bit on the pricey side -- a beer, burger and fries costs about 30.Board games included classic party and oldies, some new classics (think: Catan, Agricola, 7 Wonders) and I was pleasantly surprised by some newer finds as well.
Clever looking place. Comfortable chairs. Great location by Moscone.
Great buffalo cauliflower bites
Perfect place close to the convention center for a beer and quick bite. Also nice if you fancy a game of pool.
Good drinks, the only thing is they charge a $10 minimum for credit cards. Still worth it though.
Good range of drinks.
Great food, friendly staff!
Good burgers at a good price!
Tabletop Tap House recently replace Jillians with similar setup. By no means this place just a sports bar. There are bar games and billards to pass time. Perfect place for those taking a break from convention or nearby show. Cocktail are $13 and they do have food. Expect to pay more to that of neighborhood dive bar offering. Why I like this place is because there are two bars smaller in front and bigger in back with massive television. This place is also where I got into a verbal shouting match. You see why? This person was a (clout chaser) that hates everyone including himself. Its a shame how people want to be famous on social media, but do not have the funds to do so. Like I said before, I get pay to do so because its my job. If it wasnt for job I certainly wont be on any site. Chill out man. I still like this place regardless of what had happened.
Super friendly waitstaff, really good drinks (but maybe a bit pricey) and they have copies of Settlers of Catan and Bang!. Couldnt ask for more!
Everything here was fine. Maybe not even fine. Nothing was great. Heard comments from the group I was with that the cocktails were off and food mediocre. Would not recommend to a friend for more than the simplest items.
Beer list is not bad, service was good until it got busy, then in kinda seemed like we got forgotten about. speakers for games are quite loud at some tables.
Conveniently located across Moscone centre to be the preferred after party destination. Thank God for that you are not paying for it because their prices are definitely over the top.
Not a bad place for meeting up with people for some average food and drinks. Prices affordable.
Good place for groups and small events. Decent snack options, but nothing really incredible. Enough game options to meet interests of a group.
Good appetizers and selection of drinks. A tad bit too loud (even for a bar) though.
Great place to hang out even if you dont play pool.
Its a pool parlor. Nice but beers a bit pricey
Service was terrible. We received our appetizers at the same time as our meals, and food was not hot. Restaurant was not that busy...
Great place to do outing and team building activities with colleagues
Not bad. Burger was a little dry.
Great staff And good food
Great vibe, great happy hour options, food is quite good, prices on the high side (across from Moscone Center so what do you exoect?), but service is insanely slow. I dont care if staff are new or experienced, take care of your customers and well come back.
Good food - fun place to have a drink!
Fun company party hosted here. Easy commute on mass transit.
Very beautiful waitreas at the pool tables during lunch today very beautiful
Food wasnt anything special but the cocktails were great!
Good food and a fun atmosphere.
Stopped in to watch SF play OR. Great food and the have the largest TV screens in the area. Highly recommend!
Always have a good time here, and be sure to order the sliders.
