Perfect place to swim in the bay. Just a day pass with nominal fee of 10$ is required if you are not a member and can use all the amenities. Club members are real gentle men.

Dolphin place is astonishing. Especially MARK, he curved my nerves and swam half a mile with me and watched out for me as I head out again. Thank you MARK for your hospitality. GOD bless you.

Along the historic waterfront theres a fantastic organization called the Dolphin Club. Since 1887, the public and members swim androw the local waters of the the Bay, Aquatic Park and Lake Merced. The club has a glorious collection of small craft. And there are dedicated members that maintain and restore the woodencrafts.

Well, this is a private club, but one can visit and join. This is a Mecca for swimmers & rowers and the boats are so well maintained. I think the club could make $ giving tours and views of the Muni pier swimming pool.

Clean and beautiful. Check the website for days its open to the public. 10$ gives you access to the club for the day to try a swim, with lockers set aside for the public (bring a lock), hot showers and a sauna! The Rowing Club next door doesnt have public lockers and is less well kept.

The water is a chilly 56 degrees F but that does not stop swimmers from splashing about. I wear a wetsuit....most dont. Check website for days and hours open as they vary.

I interned for a summer in 2011 in the area, and joined the club to row on weekends. The boats are gorgeous and theres nothing more relaxing a weekend rowing out to Alcatraz and spending the afternoon wiping down a wooden rowboat older than you on the beach, on your own personal dock looking out to the golden gate bridge.
