The make-out room is a dope af neighborhood bar. They make strong drinks.They always have cool shows on a nightly basis as well as bumping tunes by some local d.j.s.Make-out room also is known to have wonder drag and burlesque performances that I highly recommend. Many local performers pass through those doors and put on some great shows.I really appreciate that there are booths and chairs in addition to the bar and dance floor. Theres also a coat check for added convenience.If youre ever in 22nd need a drink and something to do I recommend the make-out room.

Nice bar and club in Mission district. Friendly staff and good customer service. I have attended CarnavalSF Mardigras Fat Tuesday events here several times. Fun place to be. Interesting ceiling. Nice place to hangout.

My brother and I stoped by after doing a little partying in downtown la. I suggested it because I have always wanted to stop by here I was not disappointed. We came by pretty early but the girls still danced like if the place was packed. That was cool also the music was choice. We will be back during bumping hours.

Stopped in during a night of partying while on vacation and couldn’t be less pleased with the bartenders. Customer service was trash. They don’t give you water even if their “water station” was completely empty. Tried getting a water for my gf on the way out and I was told she shouldn’t have drank so much. I said nice customer service and he told me to go f myself and to get out. Unbelievable

This place has become a dumpster. It was good years ago, but the crew has changed as well as the bartenders. One bartender on a Friday night? Good luck with that. The only things that remind the same is the chances to have your purse stolen. Keeps happening, watch your belongings.

Stumbled into this joint while walking through the neighborhood. Extremely random mix of decor and music, but quirky fun. Got pretty busy and crowded as it got late. Good DJ and fun dancing. Beware some creepers on the dance floor, ladies. Cash only!

Great place to dance! They mostly had disco and funk when I went. They occasionally switched it up with some pop or hip-hop. There was a perfect balance of people, but it wasnt too packed. The name of the venue is also great :)

The Make-Out Room is a great club to see some of S.F. most talented bands. Multi level band stand with a cool-sheik interior. Lots of sexy people and a great staff make for a great place to stop by for a drink and music.

Dont ever go here unless you want to be falsely accused for not paying for your drinks and have one of the bar tenders cuss you out. One of the most unprofessionally ran venues Ive ever seen. Let me also say Im a concierge at four seasons hotels and resorts. Ill be sure to tell my counter parts in the area to keep their guests far away from this place!

As the DD I asked for water perfectly respectful and having my party tip them very well after a going away party. They told me to go to a water station, went ther and completely empty, came back to notify them and the bartender just walked away from me saying he will notify the staff. Told a barback and he got me a water finally 20 min later. Let the management know about it and they told me I was making something out of nothing. Not my first time at a bar, not cool treatment.

One of the worst bars in SF --- seriously dont waste your $10 getting in here! The music is so terrible (at least on Friday nights) and one of the bartenders is the meanest, grumpiest old men who literally SCREAMS at people trying to buy a beer.Waited 15 minutes for a drink and when I finally started to flag him down after seeing everyone else around me get served quickly, he literally got in my face and screamed have you ever been to a busy bar before? Yes, sir, I have. Thats why I waited patiently for 15-20 minutes, but after being ignored the entire time, needed to start trying to get your attention. So then the real question becomes: does this place care about their business and how they treat people? Clearly not by that interaction.And it really goes to show how illegitimate of a place this is when you ask for a manager and everyone tells you the two bartenders are managing.... um pretty sure they cant properly manage the entire business while behind a busy bar. Dont tell their insurance company this place has no real manager on duty.

$10 cover charge after 9PM or 10PM.They make a mean Margarita. DJ plays predominantly Hispanic music, place is usually pretty active near midnight, surprisingly spacious enough to have a dance floor.Bathroom will get clogged, theres no way around that.

The cocktail list is mostly basic. But there are a few great beers and drinks in there. The ceiling is really neat in the venue. Check the schedule for what music is playing before you go.

Quaint dive bar in the mission. I saw a reading here from a few local authors. Well organised, good crowd, and friendly hosts. Definitely felt welcome, even if i couldnt make out with anyone

There is some memorable music to be enjoyed here. This is the home of Writers with Drinks (recommended). Unfortunately, with so little happiness in the post-modern world, the happy hour no longer runs until 10 PM.

Wed never been here just for drinks before -- the place is often used for events so thats why Ive gone in the past. They have a list of mules that seem to be a house specialty -- I went for the one with bourbon this time. Bartender was friendly, fast, and talented. Well be back.

Cool dance floor, good music, good atmosphere. Really bad cocktails and jerk bartenders.Its okay if youre new at bartending but you cant be a jerk about it. I dont know how you mess up an old fashioned or a gimlet, but they managed. Cash only.

Another great dive bar in the mission... They have live bands, djs and even poetry readings. Its pretty small, but always fun. Go for Happy hour to get great drink prices- $3 drinks and $2 if you dont mind Pabst.

Ive been hosting Writers With Drinks here for over a decade, and this place is the absolute best. The staff are amazing, the atmosphere is unbeatable. Try the pint-sized margaritas!

You should definitely check their calendar before visiting this place to make sure that particular nights music matches what youre looking for. Other than that, its an unpretentious cheap dance spot with a come-as-you-are attitude.

Terrible, terrible venue, the size of a walk-in closet and with rude, old men, preying on young, pretty women. They had good music but they charge everyone to get in, the drinks taste bad, and so much liquor on the floor, sticky, sloshy mess, with sweaty bodies bumping and grinding against one another. If you like that, come here. If not, avoid at all costs!

We saw some fantastic bands here on a Sunday night - great stage and sound. Lively ambiance and very nice bar.

Most call this a dive bar. I think it is more of a hipster bar. Love the decor. Be forewarned the neighboring bars music can be heard through the walls, which kinda clashes with the Make Out Rooms vibe. Or does it?

A San Francisco institution. This bar is especially strong on week nights and happy hour. Great bands and DJs most nights.

Loved hearing the Bogues in this lovely and lively venue.

Had a great time there last night (on a Friday) - it had a line outside around midnight, and closes at 2 (why!), the people seemed nice, it wasnt too rammed and drinks were pretty reasonable.
