Haight Street Art Center is a nonprofit organization with rotating art exhibitions that are free to the public. From poster artist greats like Emek and Zoltron, international artists like Miles Tsang (Canada) and Kaja Renkas (Poland) to legendary artists like Ralph Steadman (just to name a few of the great artists that have exhibited here), this art center has something for everyone.Renee and Irish Gregs Pop Up have hosted public music events at HSAC which have brought Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), John Oates (Hall & Oates), Chris Robinson (Black Crowes), Lester Chambers (Chambers Brothers), Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), Jello Biafra, The Wood Brothers, just to name a few.Blue Bear Music has music lessons for children that are taught once a week. There is a working print studio on the 2nd floor and they have art classes open to the public. Stanley Mouse and Chris Peterson have taught drawing classes at HSAC.Its a great venue, not to miss!

This was my first time visiting the gallery, we checked out the Ralph Steadman retrospective. I was happily surprised at the extent of the show and the gallery space. All the staff were very welcoming and kind. It was worth the drive (and traffic) to experience this great gallery. Definitely looking forward to other shows.

The director talked trash to me so if you dont mind that possibility, the art is worth the trip

Currently an extremely well curated multimedia exhibit, From Detroit with love !Featured is the talent & poster art created for the Grande Ballroom . It was a mid western mecca for not only nascent Detroit rock of the 60s & 70s but featured the tours of many of the icons touring from all the scenes in the US as well Europe (GB) as well some of the greatest of the bluesmen who more than simply helped mentor/influence these musicians.... see it before it goes away. Also some very interesting Ralph Steadman works are on display....truly a find one day while navigating the lower haight !
