This place plays great music and is very fun! Me and my boyfriend went for a 90s Halloween party. Drinks are reasonably priced and the people there are very awesome and nice. They have some benches to sit if you get tired from dancing. Bathroom is kept pretty clean. Security is very nice and escorts the drunks carefully out. If you have to park. Make sure you either get there early or park in a garage thats open late. We had a lovely time with the very classy artwork!
Love the ambiance that comes with this location. There was a public art gallery with a featured artist the date I came here and was amazed by how friendly and involved everyone was. Definitely a great way to meet new people, also the art is amazing and up for sale with proceeds going to the artist.
Best place in the world actually. Almost 20 years ago I met the mother of my two beautiful daughters there. I recently came back to find it was exactly the same in all its wonderfulness. Great job to all the people keeping this place awesome!
To be fair, Ive only been a few times. Still, I feel that 111 Minna represents the worst bit of San Francisco. While claiming to be a gallery, the art is generally sub par, and the crowd seems disinterested in any regard. A place for people who believe that drinking in the presence of artwork means that one is cultured.
Theyre okay. So, I get a Strongbow cider and the bartender asks me if I wanted ice, which is a first. And then I found out why: their drafts are on the warm side. Same with the Hoegaarden and the Bass that I had afterward. Brits might find the taps here reminiscent of home...
I love this place. The people make it. The art on the walls is always fascinating and worth my attention, but I never regret sitting down with a stranger here and having a conversation. I do it regularly, but here the conversations last. I dont ever get to spend sufficient time there. My only complaint.
Great music, hot people, fashion show and art gallery were cool, but $20 cover was high. OK for LA or Miami, but not here. Liked dancing on street level with windows onto 2nd. Felt exhibitionistic. Would perhaps give 5 stars if cover was $10 or less, which is what it usually is.
This is a great after work/happy hour space. Its not plagued by the usual crush of people into a confined space that one typically encounters in SOMA watering holes. It can get very busy and seating at high top table is at premium.
I have lived in the bay area for more then 30yrs. I never knew this place existed! Amazing artworks and just an over all place to have great drinks and cocktails. This place is open during special events and a great place for the public to meet and chat with Artis and see amazing Art. Great place to escape.
Very fun gallery to come and explore. I greatly enjoy coming here all the time.
Came here for a companys party and I really enjoyed the ambiance. It was the perfect size for an intimate party. I dont know how its like during the regular bar scene, but I enjoyed the provided DJ and food. The bartenders were really nice. I had a great time!
Great little place. Great party with awesome guitars, etc from Jerry Garcia!
Definitely drop by the Minna gallery, for a great place to chill out and recharge.. great drinks, great food, served by the most welcoming and polite staff.
Very cool space to look at art and get a coffee or a cocktail. I came here with a large group of friends for a celebration and they were happy to accommodate us without any sort of reservation. There are special events here though so it’s a good idea to check their website and calendar for any bookings.
Awesome place for happy hours. Enough space inside. It would be nice to have more TV available inside the gallery. Restrooms are very well maintained. No parking on- site. Easy to find it from outside. Good for more 200 people. Great place to hang out after office hours in the city.
Dope spot if you ever get the chance to be there for the art shows. Highly recommended. Customer Service on point as always.
Ive taken a few of their first time artist classes, including pottery, screen printing and sewing. I loved all of these classes. The teachers were all great and I learned a lot. I have some pretty cool projects from each class. Also, when you take a class there, they have certain days/times for open studio, so you can come and work on your project outside of the class times. I highly recommend taking classes here!!
Worked security for a event. This guy came out of nowhere to tell us this place had bagels, fruit, coffee, & oj at no cost to workers. He led the way. Man was there some beautiful art work. My favorite was a picture that when looked at closely it was money
Hit or miss for me. Vibe is cool and bartenders are friendly. Great spot for corporate events. Sometimes the art has no appeal to me but that is obviously a personal thing.
Great art gallery with unique and innovative art!
I LOVE this space. They have a great Happy Hour and they are located 1 block from my office! They have a great Friday night party and new art on the walls monthly. Its hard to go wrong at 111 Minna. Oh and they make a margarita to die for :)
A great bar with really good service and decent prices for the city, plus we saw a fun show in the performance space. I hope to go back next time Im in town.
I brought my daughter here for the first time and was immediately impressed with the space and the displays of the different types of art that they cover. It is fairly expensive compared to other day camps but there was clay which is not something usually included in other camps we have tried. My daughter loved it and we will be trying it again. Maybe next time I will try out a class too.
Interesting classes at relatively affordable prices. For portraits and figure drawing, i recommend Bob Horn. He knows his stuff and teaches pretty well. For digital arts, i recommend 111 Minna Gallery. I like it when instructors fill each 3 hour session with many new tips and practice sessions and both of them do that. Only thing is,the quality of the instructors are not very consistent. Ive had instructor who spent the whole doing own stuff without teaching anything.
Went to a private event for Dreamforce staff was great
111 Minna Gallery offers great kid classes at reasonable prices. My 5 year old daughter has taken their multimedia, clay, and monsters classes. She has enjoyed them all and is always excited to go back.
Good event space, Im told it is a cool place to hang out and work and drink coffee all day too. Staff were super helpful and the art on the walls is a bonus
Only stopped in for a coffee but the place was beautiful. Cant wait to go back.
Dope art show spot & good drinking atmosphere.
This is the coolest gallery/event space/bar in the city. An establishment in the art community for over 25 years I believe. Love it!
Nice club venue... good Drinks. Good music.
Great space for after work drinks. Best mezcal margarita Ive had!
Best lively and social fun place to go and get drinks and listen to cool DJ music and go out and hang with friends. To meet new people and meet people and host cool events to private events and catering food and make the best out of it.
Cute little art gallery. I went for the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series (#StirCreativity) and had a lot of fun checking out the artwork. It is an art gallery so I recommend dressing the part. Also, there is a bathroom, clean and accessible.
I see why people enjoy 111 Minna Gallery, but I never found it inspiring. The teachers are artists who seem not to invest in or expect much out of casual community students. For me it makes it hard to take seriously when the whole vibe suggests that what youre doing doesnt matter.
Cool spot with people dancing and having fun. Two DJs in two different rooms. Nice little surprise.
Excellent space in the financial district for drinks.
Great place for drinks after work.
111 Minna is a pretty good spot just for the sheer variety of activities. Theres art, booze, event space, and coffee.
Happy hour is ok. Too busy with obnoxious people though. Its great when they have events there. Thats when you can enjoy the drinks and the space without being overwhelmed.
Coffee? Bar? Why not both! And also add in super awesome decor, art, vibe, and everything else.During the day, I love getting a cup of coffee here. Its a perfect place for a meeting, meetup, or hangout. Theres plenty of room and seating. And as the day transitions, it turns into a bar! So anytime during the day, this place is perfect for a drink. Also, be sure to check out the art!
So cool! Love the vibe. Had some cold beers. Danced and chill.
Amazing spot for coffee, drinks, and music. There is also an art gallery inside. Weve hosted events here in their side unit, which can fit 100 folks or so. Very courteous staff, great normal cocktails, and reasonable prices.Lots of tech folks meet up here for coffee to discuss business since there is a ton of open space and tables to chat. Great for catching up with friends, a date, or business.
Good coffee, weird art
Place has been great for years. Art and music.
This is an interesting space. It looks quite small, but can actually fit quite a large amount of people. I attended a Casual Connect Pocket Gamer Mixer here, and there were at least 200 people at one point, and the area didnt feel too packed. There is also a nice bar area, in addition to a stage, that allow for presentations, panels, and performances. The art is also great-- particularly in the bathroom. Its definitely a cute spot!
Great spot for a function. Smallish space with great high ceilings and accoustics!
Less crowded and very spacious for a good happy hour. I prefer this over other local bars that are packed for a Friday afternoon drink
The gallery makes a nice place to hang out in while downing a beer or three and chatting with friends.
Gorgeous space, We hosted an event there for my work and the staff was so wonderful to us.
Its an art gallery that turns into a club and for me its a perfect mix.The two events Ive been at have had audiences/patrons with a high degree of diversity, and when Im out thats always a plus. The drinks were also very good and reasonably priced considering its in San Francisco.
Used to go here for Spesh and to dance at the Qool happy hour. The place is still pretty cool, though i go now mostly during the day for the Verve coffee.
Wonderful sweet staff with amazing attention to detail & passion for great service and quality drinks!
Superb coffee, even better setting. A very SF style cool and hip coffee shop/bar located in an art gallery. The art changes every couple of weeks as they host different events in the evenings for the artist of choice. The coffee is great and its such a good place for a meeting as there is so much to take in if you are waiting. I havent had a cocktail here but they always look pretty great.
Great art. Perfect event space for small groups. Close to restaurants and the new Salesforce park.
Fantastic venue. Hosts a variety of events throughout the month. Art changes regularly so it keeps the venue fresh. Friendly staff. Great for afternoon coffee, happy hour drinks, or evening events.
Went here on Saturday night for my first time and loved the old school hip hop music. Took me back to high school days....I guess I just dated myself. Anyways....music is cool and bathrooms clean. The bar thou. .....well they are limited to what they can make. I asked for a hurricane and got some super weak weird tasting drink, then later had a long island in the 2nd room cuz they couldnt make a hurricane, and It tasted like a Margarita. ....little weird if you ask me. All in all, good time thou. Id go back, even thou I felt like the old one in the room. :)
Businesses don’t last 25 years in San Francisco unless they’re doing something right. 111 Minna is a very cool space with a plethora of amazing artists on show at any one given time. My favorite space in San Francisco!
Awesome venue with fun dance parties! Love 90s and hip hop parties here. Art is always awesome to look at too
Contemporary gallery located in FiDI. This place has decent amount of seating and a coffee bar located right inside the gallery during the day. A great place to do some work or meet up for coffee.I have also been here for private events and its a nice venue that feels cozy.
Cool vibe. Great spot for a drink after work. Get a chance to check out the art and meet interesting people. Would definitely go back there
We were here for an event and it was just pleasant. Food was canapés and wine being served.Really poor signage to find the place and find the doors and to work out what was going on. It’s one of those shared facilities places...
Great use of space for events and art
Spacious bar, some art - great cocktails. Great vibe on Friday nights.
They have Duvel on tap. Is there anything else to add?
Beautiful Building set in an amazing part of the city.Step inside it only gets better.Gorgeous art.Free concerts, and open mics.Good Bar (2)cafe in daytime.Awesome Staff. What the citys meant to be.Real.
Live DJ, fun art, 2 bars inside and all this for no cover - awesome
This place is pretty rad. Coffee shop by day and bar by night. I love the venue, and appreciate that they change the exhibits often. The music is always on point and the staff is really friendly.
I come by here for coffee from work somewhat regularly. Its a nice space, but normally full of people working from coffee shop. The coffee is decent (four barrel I believe), but nothing to write home about. Ill still come by, the staff is friendly and attentive.
Very unique space! The venue has art and fantastic drink deals. They often host very unique events that offer great alternatives to the usual happy hour. The staff is very friendly and the service is top notch. I would recommend stopping by for a drink or coffee during the day.
My company held a large happy hour here and I was quite impressed with the venue. Inside was nice and elegant, due to the fact that art was hung on all the wall. Plus it was nice how we had a completely exclusive room. Our entrance was actually around the corner from the main entrance which was nice because it kept random people out. This worked very well for the company sponsored event, but if it was a public event I bet I would not have liked the venue. As for the food that was served... It was trash. I actually found out how much it cost and was shocked. I would never order catered food here if I was throwing the event. The bar the great though, and the bartenders were very attentive. I would be more that happy to go back for a firm event but thats it
Depending on the event this place is a true gem when it comes to its potential
Attractive, open space. Decent beer list. Cool, helpful bartenders. No cocktail list but good bottles behind the bar and theyll make whatever you want. No food so you can bring food in from one of the nearby restaurants.
This gallery has a nice set of revolving art and some permanent installation pieces. The integration to the bar(s) and coffee pop up (red door, serving Four Barrel) is a trendy and popular place to visit. For coffee: Come before 8:30am to find shorter lines and more time to enjoy the artistic ambience. If you are in need of coffee, you can search for the link to their current webcam and see the size of the line and insure you can get your coffee, toast, or donuts without delay. In the evening: The venue is often reserved for private events and not open to the public. Do not be dissuaded. Come back when it is open and you will find two well stocked bars. This is a favored happy hour spot in this neighborhood.
Drinks are solid and a good spot to go to after work. Only issue is the limited seating but thats not a huge problem given that you want to stand after a long day.
Cool place to have a drink and meet some cool locals
111 minna st. is a very artistic place. the atmosphere is more like a social club set in a museum. the lighting is a bit bright for my tastes especially to shine on the art displays. the dance floor is rather small so not much dancing can be done. there are two bars to get drinks from but it does get extremely crowded. overall it is a nice place to hang out and socialize.
If Bad and Boujee was a building, this would be it. The blend of art gallery and club makes for a really enjoyable combination if you love to get down while still appreciating the finer things. The bar tenders are pretty friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced considering its in San Francisco
Minna gallery hosts lots of fun events for the local art crowd. Its Bart accessible which is a huge plus for those that love outside of the city.
Hip SF watering hole..... Went for a Private BTC event, loved it.
I was confused when I went to this place. Wasnt sure if it was an art gallery or bar, but I guess it is both? The drinks are decently priced and there are happy hour specials. If youre nice enough and wink at the bartender, he just might give you happy hour price after happy hour is over!
Great place for coffee.
Great event space near downtown with two separate rooms, each with a bar and plenty of space for a moderate to large crowd. I have been here on a few occasions and it has always been a good time. They layout allows for plenty of people without being overcrowded and with 2 decent sized bars, it makes getting drinks easy. The art on the walls and throughout has always been interesting and the decor in general is warm and well done. Great event space.
One of my favorite spots in SF! 111 Minna is an awesome art gallery that always makes my nights unforgettable. I love the art displayed here, but I also love when they have special events for a fun night out.
Spacious venue. Surrounded by great bites & restaurants locally i.e., Salt, Roys, Osha Thai, sushi, Thirsty Bear, W Hotel, sandwiches, etc. Love this area of SF (SOMA), decent metered parking after hours - read signs carefully. I was here a couple of times attending my designer friends fashion line INLUSH (hand-painted silk dresses). Each time, it was a fabulous experience with a diverse crowd of friendly people. She made it as one of the finalists at the RAWARDS, and we were there once again to support her talented skills! Love this place...great stage, sound system, music, drinks, staff, and amazing artwork!!!
Great place....I had a blast here
If you have love for ART and MUSIC....plus, sippin on some good cocktails while mingling with a diverse crowd, then youve gone to the right place. This is one of my favorite spots to hit up in the city. Best times are Wednesdays and Fridays for local artistry workshops and/or club events. If you arent feeling the type of music...you can always groove to some elemental hip-hop, funk, and jazz after 9pm on Fridays. They have a cover charge, depending on what night you plan to attend. Theres always a change of schedule when they book people, so its best to check out their website for more info.
