Its the best when you get a front row seat. So get there on the earlier side. Would be better if cars in back rows could park staggered for better viewing.
A great arts & cultural hub that should be on your list to stop by! Filled with events, there’ll be a good reason to walk by. A favorite early SF memory was years ago - eating my way through a bustling food truck event! Maybe that’s why this place is pretty special. There’s also a nice open park that gets pretty crowded with locals on the weekend too. While all the lively activity is attractive, there’s another real gem. During sunsets or evening time, you may get lucky and spot some local friends down by the marina pier. Forget the loud sea lions at Pier 39, and take a chance to spot seals basking in the sunlight.
Usually go here for spray paint. Nice collection of colors - highlighter & metallics. Higher end on products so everything thing is a bit pricey. Best for artists and would recommend elsewhere (Michaels or Joans) for kids crafts.
The vibe is welcoming and polite. All around its a wonderful safe place for kids of all ages and adults, lets just say romantic view can be found within the eyes of beholder. Oh and the shops are amazing as well haha.
It’s great place for gathering with friends and family for hiking, biking, picnicking, flying Kites, simply socializing, or just to be out and about. It is a kids and grown ups friendly place. It has a terrific view of San Francisco Marina District, Palace of Fine Art to the right you will see Golden Gate Bridge and beyond. I loved the place and enjoyed it every time I’m there. Have fun you all️
Great place to host your events or life celebrations. Great staff beautiful scenery. Was here for the Presendential debate watch party presented by Mannys Cafe.
Best idea! Everyone was super nice, got in quick and could see pretty well even from a few rows back
Fort Mason is having a pop up Drive in movie theater totally cool
Great series of social distance drive in movies. Great job, great staff. Will be back for sure.
Great used bookstore. Greens restaurant located here but book one month ahead for dinner. Several arts organizations and performing arts here. Good place to hang for awhile. Coffee and snacks. Several festivals throughout the year. Check the web for dates, etc.
The Fort Mason has a lot of activities and they’re super fun! They offer movie night every weekend and you can get the tickets online!
Great place for family and friends lots of beautiful scenery to see
Fun venue for a drive-in. Popcorn truck and snack stand too. Good sightlines and audio.
An absolutely wonderful place to walk around, explore, and enjoy the beautiful art and various exhibits. They have totally revamped this area, and it’s now such a wonderful place to walk around, visit the bars, and / or dine! I particularly love the restaurant called “In the Green.”
Went for coffee at Ritual. Beautiful area strange not seeing many people however.
We’ve had SO many wonderful memories at Fort Mason — beer festival, craft markets and just walking along the Forrest paths by the harbour. If there’s an event on you MUST GO! And if there’s not go anyway and take in the beauty of the water and nature walk nearby.
Most tourists probably won’t bother hiking up the somewhat steep hill along the ocean to reach the backdoor entrance to this fairly small national park, which is a couple of miles from downtown San Francisco, and just a short distance from Ghirardelli Square. The main users of Fort Mason are local joggers and picnickers who want to enjoy the large open “green” space. But visitors will be impressed by the sheer size of the park in a large metropolis, by Its interesting history, and by the fact that a fairly large hostel is located there (book ahead),
Arts Culture and History all together in a spectacular SF Bay setting of great natural beauty. Updated restaurants, great events, Art stores, womens workspace, theater, and museums. A favorite is Friends of the SF library bookstore. Views of the Golden Gate, and people watching in a vibrant Maritime landscape between the busy city and two waterfront National Park Sites. Spend the day here or stop by for coffee at one of the cafes on your way to the Bridge. Residents can find classes and seminars and so much more here. Learn to sing or play in a band at Blue Bear School of American Music. Or just stroll out into the bay to watch ships and sea lions and the sun reflected on the tides.
One of the underrated spots in the SF. If you want some peace of mind, visit this place.Best scenic view.
One of San Franciscos best places to spend a Sunday afternoon. Start with brunch at Greens, delicious vegetarian, vegan dishes where the menu changes frequently. Ambience is created by the ocean on one side and comfortable, cozy sitting within.Follow brunch with a visit to Flax, for artists and people who live and love to create. Then a visit to a resale bookstore called Friends of the Library. If you have more time visit the Italian museum, where you might want to take some of the art home. Before heading home, visit the farmers market and walk away with a delicious cup of coffee from the Equator. It is a perfect Sunday.
The Sunday farmers market is great place to shop for food.
Never been. Was installing access points and wiring in a nearby building for a new school that should be opening.
This is a fantastic event space. Over the years I have attended several beer festivals, wine events and several comedy shows. They have a farmers market on Sundays.
Public access, no wheelchair ramps. Steep sand ladder.
Lots of cool art from a variety of artists. The artists stay by their exhibits so that you can chat with them as well as purchase their unique pieces of art. From optical illusions to pop art and sculptures, there was definitely a variety of pieces for everyone. Location wise, its right next to the water so you get a beautiful view of that. Theres a Safeway & Dominos pizza place around the corner if you need to grab something quickly. Also a park/Fort Mason grass field if youd like to sit somewhere nice. I would definitely recommend.
Best place to be a tourist or play some Pokemon GO! Kinda far from the city but a great place to park and begin a day of touring for visitors.
Came here for the San Francisco Coffee Festival. Nice indoor venue appropriate for the amount of coffee vendors. It was a great event with many coffee vendors, guest convo speakers, and music.
One of my favorite spots in SF! Amazing views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge!
Enjoy event here twice. The first time is a art festival and the second time is a blockchain summit conference! Easy parking, great view and good venue for conference! This is why I like SF!
Lots of different shops, kinda windy so bring a sweater. Lots to do but not when we have all the covid b.s. going on.
Sunday morning farmers market is best time to visit this place! Fresh vegetables, flavored hummus dippings, local organic fruits & some great ciders will turn your day into a fantastic one! Take a short walk to fort mason to admire the view of SF & Bay! You can get a full view of Golden Gate Bridge & all water sports activities from here! If you are into Arts then California art institute is a place for you.
Decent place to walk for view but full of hipsters
Great place with great views of the Bay and the GGB.
Nice place if you visiting downtown... and there is market area where you will get many bakery and farmer shops so try their ice creams ... those are good enough for summer days ...
Great views. We ran a 10k from there to the Golden Gate Bridge and back.
Beautiful place to stop regardless of the time of day, either way your going to have absolutely gorgeous vistas of San Fran. Definitely recommend visiting.
Beer festival was awesome. Alongside a beautiful pier!
It feels really calm and peaceful. I can see the golden gate bridge. I recommend this place to go on sunny day. The sea is beautiful and charming.
I go here to smack the Tennis ball against the wall in the Parking lot during lockdown. The views are better from atop the park adjacent to it. I have not been to the shops inside but they look more like a tourist trap than a place to find curiousities with meaning.
Pretty cool venue for an event. Great views and some good restaurants in the complex. Nicely maintained given the age of these buildings
Wonderful place to walk around or sit in the park. Also one of the top two places in SF for bird watching (along with Herons Head).
Great view and a good place to have a nice walk!
Went on Sunday to the farmers market. Good selection of vegetables, nut, fruits, some organic too. Food vendors galore, and even some vegetarian and vegan choices. Beautiful place to stroll and be outdoors!
Great space for a drive in movie!
I like this area of san francisco and even stayed at the international hostel in the fort. clean and quiet area with many places to walk to including coffee, restaurants, bars, piers, and the wharf
Fort Mason now houses a tremendous variety of cultural and artistic pieces that are wonderful to recognize. It varies from acting to children’s experiential workshops to lawyers for the arts. Check it out! There’s always something interesting going on. And then there’s Greens restaurant. Absolutely delicious vegetarian food overlooking the Bay.
Nice place to go. Not lot of options for vegetarian people. But over all it was good and one time visit place. The inside ambience was good with nice bay view.
Love the view from here! Theres also a beautiful community garden.
Such a nice place to walk around and enjoy nature, love this place.
Fair prices, friendly staff
Perfect vantage point for some distance + incredible views.
Great place to have quiet time if its not raining
Seems like a very big, very beautiful space. Visited the coal + ice exhibition there and it was breathtaking.
Perfect place to have a quick picnic or wat g blue angles during fleet week!
There was a real sense of camaraderie as cars broke into honks at the end of the film. Worth it for that alone!
Free beer very good fresh beer
Cool place for events and seasonal markets.
Super chill park that is perfect for a picnic. Came during the government shutdown so restroom were closed.
Nice park to hang out with great views... fun to ride bikes and rest at equator at the foot of the hill.
Lots of history for our country and a very pleasant experience
Visited Fort Mason for the San Francisco Art Market. The area is very spacious, clean, and excellent for gallery space. There are plenty of places to eat (both cafes and restaurants) at a walkable distance. Fort mason is at the foot of the ocean which makes a great bay view.
Not too shabby. I went here for the Dillon Francis NYE show for 2019. The set up was pretty good and the speakers werent bad for a space Im assuming doesnt host a lot of edm shows. The event company said they added a lot of bars in comparison to 2018, but Id still say there arent enough.
Attended Bernie Sanders rally on 3/24/2019. Park was awesome!
Clean part of San Fransisco wonder if its because of all the rich people
Beautiful walks, lots of history and views for miles.
Didnt go there. Stupid google.
One of the few parts of the city that stay beautiful. Maybe because it is federal parkland, maybe because of the setting, maybe because of the great bookstore and Sunday farmers market, it doesnt really matter though, its always nice
Went for the Off the grid food market superb food cool atmosphere
Its a theatre. The chairs are basic, but comfy. The layout is typical. Everything is average, hence the 3 stars. The front was freezing, but I think that was for the talkers, so I didnt subtract a star.
This is actually Kate Schnack posting this as well as the last 20 reviews posted under Bills name. Ft Mason Arts center is great. I especially liked The Interval. its a combo of coffee bar & bar with a few snack type items. The cool thing is that they have tons of books & philosophical talks by futurists.
Wow, so beautiful at dawn when sun starts to arise above the horizon of the big lawn here.
Was there for Bernies rally and it was amazing and beautiful.
Great location for art related things. You can enjoy the crafts or other creations or expositions and when youre tired of the crowd take a break by looking at the incredible views of the bay. There is a coffee and some restaurants nearby too.
Great place to walk around, see art & culture. The San Francisco International Art Festival is AMAZING!!!
Not what its cracked up to be. More low key and funky. Good luck finding what youre looking for. Signage weak. At one time there was a great vegetarian restaurant there run by monks. Search that on Google.
Beautiful location and must go for any local
On Saturday nights there is a collection of food trucks that come to the Center. Its an excellent selection of a variety of foods and at the center of it is music, a drink tent, fire-rings and a great time. If youre in town over the weekend, be sure to check it out.
If there were more than 5 stars Id register them cause boy howdy lots to do & casual, too.
I saw the play Guppy...It was amazing. I attended the play with Jeff Eben also known as... Guppy...Great production!!!k
On Sundays the midwife and the baker breads are there
Good selection and ample space.
Place was awesome. Very unique, must go one time. Theres a bike path that looks over the whole place.
An oasis in san Francisco where you can enjoy beautiful views, there is an amazing hostal. Very near parks and fisherman wharf
Grass too tall - lost my phone in it.
Ft Mason Farmers Market is a wonderful place to shop for organic produce, and small farm products. The prices are average for the area, and the produce is RIPE!! Its all local, its all sold by the people who grow, or catch, or make it. From asparagus to zucchini, you can find it there.... but only in season!
Awesome area! Great art vendor fair!
We always love it here since we can sell Bee Hunter Wine directly to our friends in the Bay Area while watching the beautiful sunset view.
Went to the SF coffee festival here. The weather was really pretty and being close to the water was really nice. They often hold big events here and there is usually always parking.
Fun. Worth going to.
Amazing spot with beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge! There are so many great businesses here, and the event space is awesome too.
