Beautiful gallery in San Fransisco. My favorite artist there has a very unique and brilliant style working with metals. I found 2 pieces at the time that I staired at for a while. One was of 2 faces a black and a dark grey, and the other was a chess set that had a set of black that was very detailed, creative and gorgeous. The white was a work in abstract and was equally interesting.
Fantastic place to see unusual art! I do not usually visit galleries, but Im glad a stopped by this one. Wonderful sculptures and paintings. The docent (I think thats her title?) was friendly and eager to answer questions.
This Gallery gets it. Its all fine art of the highest quality and without a pretentious art gallery vibe! Ive been a sculptor for 40 years and from an artists standpoint it is outstanding! And no, I dont show there.
The Chloe Gallery was exceptional in helping me acquire my Jennifer Vranes painting. Through them I was able to contact the Artist directly to create a painting I am proud to hang in our home. I worked with Greg Lejnieks through the whole process, and he kept me up to date on the progress of the painting. The painting arrived on time as promised. They even delivered and offered an almost white glove service of installing the painting in our home. Now it hangs beautifully in our front room.
Cool place to check out some art
Chloe is a great place for serious collectors of contemporary fine art. But, it is also a fantastic place for people like me who are just discovering the world of collecting art. The gallerists, though serious about their work, are friendly and even funny when they introduced you to their collection.Their sculptures are fun and well chosen for this gallery. Dakota Pratts whimsical pieces are here, giant fruit made with colorful bottle cap coverings. It is worth coming in just to see those.Expert tip: they can only show a small amount of their collection on the walls and floor. The gallerists are MORE than happy to pull pieces out for you to see. They can set up a personal show in a viewing room to figure out what will work in my home.I have to say, Ive been in a few galleries in SF, this was the friendliest. They knew Im not an art expert and they didnt try to intimidate or push to hard. I felt like they were trying to get to know me so they could help me make choices I will love for a long time.I send friends visiting California here. Its at the end of the hyde cable car line at fishermans wharf, so a great stop on a tour of the city.
Whoever selects their artists has a great eye. Just be prepared to spend a lot if you want to take anything home.
