We recently discovered the remote-controlled, model sailing pond and met a few people from the boat club. One of the members, Kim invited me to give a try and I loved it. You can also use this club to learn how to sail before renting a boat on your own. Ive tried many times to sail windsurfing and even renting a hobie cat, but never quite got the hang of it. Check out San Diego Argonauts for more info. on membership, boat costs, etc. You can pick up a new sail boat with integrated GPS for about $400. What an enjoyable experience! Thanks Kim and Fred for the warm welcome and introducing me to a new sport!

It was very beautiful, lots of trees. But just be careful with the ducks and geese

One of the nicest, most hidden parts of Mission Bay Park -- our own Elysian Fields. Its lovely to watch the sailboats in miniature glide gently across the pond. The only downer is when the guys with the power boats are there, then its a constant barrage of REEEEEEeeeeet, REEEEEEeeeeeeeeeet!!! Its like a fly in your otherwise delicious soup.

Awesome place to enjoy RC model boats! Im a big fan of the scale boats like tugboats, Navy destroyers and steam boats that run on Saturday mornings.
