Our sons godfather brought our whole family here. We(all 6 in our family) HAD A BLAST. The atmosphere, the music, the cleanliness of the place was above my expectations. I live in the South bay but I will be coming back here with the kids very often. And if you are wondering about the staff... The staff skaters on the skate floor are on top of it all and very courteous. Everyone I stopped to ask questions to smiled and was very attentive. However, there is one employee in particular who absolutely made my experience a 10 and that is Linda Allen. She was very helpful, never got irritated when EVERYONE in my family had to change their sizes a couple of times. She listened to my little story and was very engaged in the conversation. I felt like I mattered. Her smile and conversation back to me was like she really cared. So very polite. Thank you Linda . We appreciate you. We will be back Skateworld.

I’ve been going to skate world since i was in 2nd grade. i’ve had three birthdays there. this place withholds so many fun memories. this is most definitely my favorite place on earth!

The place has to be saved. I havent roller skated in a long time and when I brought my kids here they had a great time. Its the best bang for your buck without having to travel far, spend a lot of money or pay for memberships.

I love this place for the skating. Thank God they didnt tear it down! The only thing Ive ever complained about is the nutrition choices with which they have purchase. I wish they had more nutritional options as he do get hungry skating. Other than that great prices great people and fun times.

Old fashioned fun. Our first time skating... and my 6yo first time... they were really friendly and HONEST! You could tell the staff wanted you to have a good experience. And when someone borrowed our skating assist rails... after going up and explaining... they gave us another one without charge. Beginner tip: Make sure you remember the number on your rolling rails. Staff was awesome, and we had a good time on a Saturday night! Thanks!

This was either my first time or the first time Ive been in 15 years or so it was so fun there were good skaters there were beginner skaters and people in between watching people dance to the music and do different tricks was surreal because I did this as a kid and also a lot of the music was 70s disco so was like traveling back in time just as much fun maybe even more so. Lots of different ages people that were young all the way up to people with all gray hair that were maybe 60 and still could really skate.

Adult night on Tuesdays is fun. They even offer a beginners course for newbies from 7:30pm to 8pm.The age ranges from 20 to 55+ and everybody is respectful towards the new skaters.Their staff is super friendly, explain everything and advise as well.The only negative is the $5 minimum at the store because any water, Gatorade, etc is less than $5 meaning you have to buy more than one drink at a time.

Best Skating Rink in town. I’ve created so many memories here since a little girl, to experiencing my first job learning so much customer service skills, to now bringing my own children to continue on making fun memorable family time. Tuesday adult night session has always been my favorite events they have here. Overall i wish i could them 1,000 stars because they truly deserve it.

So much fun! Lots of memories of my childhood skating at the roller rink on Friday and Saturday nights. Rink is a bit small and skates could use some updating...otherwise a GREAT TIME for all!

Super friendly staff, great place to bring the whole family to skate. I went for their $2 tuesday promotion and had a blast! Would definitely go back again and again. Great snack options available as well as a gear shop on site.

We love this place! Skated all summer on their Summer Pass. Had my daughters 13th birthday here and it was so fun. Great staff.

Really wanted to give this place a higher rating, but the overall experience wasn’t great.1. $14 to skate and rent. Not bad but a bit pricey for a Tuesday day skate. Skates were alright. Laces were comically too long.2. AC was apparently broken as they had doors open and fans blowing. That’s unacceptable in the summer.3. Movie theatre pricing for food and drinks. My girls were thirsty and had to pay $3 for a bottle of water. No outside drinks aloud. No water fountain and they refused to give out cups of water. Unacceptable given #2 above.Edit: I found the drinking fountain on the way out. Still unacceptable that they couldn’t give out a small drinking cup.4. Rink is small and the wood needs resurfacing. Maybe I remember rinks being in better shape, but this one felt tired.5. Visual effects were, in one word, lame. Three blankets with LED lights flashing a pattern plus a few lights hanging from the ceiling. You expect more.6. Staff - no complaints. All were nice and approachable.

This place is agem of San Diego! Bringing families together! Very reasonable on cost for a skate & rental. They have public beginner lessons on Saturdays also.

Best rink around.......As a figure skater I have been to many, many rinks in the surrounding areas and I have to say this rink beats them all!!! Very clean, up to date the employees are always smiling. I cant wait to bring my kids here when they are a lil older so they can have the same great memories as I do.

Super fun place! I like that they have staff skating around with the crowd, so when you fall they are there to help you get back up safely. Yes, it happens even to the best of us, haha.

We can during family skate on Sunday from 4:30-7:00. It was jam packed. I am sure it was because of the discounted price. They have these walkers for kids who arent comfortably skating yet....there were hundreds of them on the rink. It made it a little tricky to navigate around. After it thinned out it was better. Brought back great skate rink memories! I wish they would do an open 80s night skate. We saw what must have been a private party entering as we left...totally decked out in their 80s attire. It made me jealous...they were playing Come on Eileen and I wanted to stay!!!! Parking isnt great. We parking in the adjacent strip mall. They have a snack bar and lockers also.

Took my sister and my daughter they had such a blast. We had never roller skated. It was super fun even with a huge crowd. Will be coming back soon!

Skateworld golds a special place in my heart as its where I began playing roller derby which has taken me so many places in the last 3 years. Brett and Christina have helped me with so much.The floor is great and really the only wood skating floor you are going to get in San Diego county.Go, have fun at skateworld

Adult skate night is fun, the music however could be better. There should be no reason why its recommended that you bring your own headphones.

First time going in here and it was a bad experience.The old guy at the front wasn’t very nice, and charged my 5 year old $10 even though it’s supposed to be $5. Someone took our two pairs of roller skates and we couldn’t get it back because there were no receipt given, and the people weren’t helpful either because they tried to charge me AGAIN for roller skates i had already paid for! The hotdog’s bun was also a bit tough and soggy in the inside. We just left. 0/5 stars. Not coming again.

Very friendly staff. I took the adult skate class before adult skate time. She was very helpful in learning. The adult skate time was very lively and a lot of fun. Lots of people, good music, nice floor, and food options. There is a free water fountain as well.

I visited recently on a Saturday night and was very pleasantly surprised to see so so so many people there having a really great time. It was like time traveling to the 80s — when people had fun together without a cell phone! The venue offers multiple areas for birthday parties. The skating floor is authentic old wood (a good thing). The bathroom was clean, and the staff was friendly. Its really hard to believe the city wants to shut this place down! If anything, it should be promoted more as a fun physical activity for family and friends. Like exercise hidden by fun and music! The DJ was interactive without being annoying. I didnt hear any offensive music. And they still had skating contests like limbo! A+!!!

My sister and I have been going to Skateworld since 1977 and it is still one of my favorite places in San Diego. Now we bring our kids to skate. The owners have recently renovated the rink so it feels more spacious and is clean. Its an affordable place for familes and for anyone who just wants to skate - beginners to experience.

Old school, low tech fun. Just like I remember from my youth. Skating is a great full body workout. The have specials during the week, particularly Family Skate on Wednesday for$5 including rental.

Perfect for kids bday parties. I cant see adults coming here to get their skate on, unless they are parents with children. Arena small and business defenitely caters to kids, which makes it a great place for them to come and learn or practise in a safe environment

Always a great time on Tuesday adult night skate...great music and turnout..also the fact that city council voted yesterday to delay sale and closing until further checking on this is great news!!! Even though I am having some surgery on my knee soon and will be out I will always return for the adult night skating session...I just love the people and the good times.

I love it here! It gets crowded tho so if there’s a lot of people, I wouldn’t recommend going in. I’d ask if there’s a little kid party going on and if it’s crowded before paying. The staff is extremely friendly as well. 4 stars only because they need to do some renovations on the flooring

Love Skate World. We take our daughter there all the time. Way safer for her to fall down on a smooth wood floor than on concrete!

The place seems to be under very bad management and way understaffed. The carpet is very dirty and ripped up in many places, the wood rink desperately needs to be redone, its very smelly and the bathrooms are awful. Their website advertises the location as a perfect place for birthday parties but this could not be further from the truth. Their party packages are overpriced, we paid almost $400 for something of ~$100 value. They dont allow you to bring in food and they instead serve you gross pizza with some pitchers of soda. The only allow you 45 minutes in their shared part room (which isnt even a room, its just a sectioned off part of their concessions area) where you have to share a space with 3-4 other parties at one time. I decided to have my sweet 16 birthday party here and it was a disaster. The staff treated my party like everyone was in elementary school and they hovered around our table the whole time not giving us any privacy. They kept bugging my parents telling us that we only had (insert amount of minutes) left. They also messed up my name so when they called my party to the shared party room no one came and we had even less time to eat than our allotted 45 minutes. The rink was extremely crowded and the lanes would become so congested that everyone was tripping over another. None of my friends were enjoying themselves and neither was I. I suppose if you were planning a party for a younger child this would be an okay venue but I would not recommend for anyone over 10 years old.

Best place for a Birthday Party!!

This place is wonderful. The lights, the music, the other super experienced skaters; I could not stop smiling. I had never roller skated before and I do not regret coming here. Skate world is awesome definitely coming again!

Indoor skate rink with wooden floors. Awesome spot with friendly staff. If youre new to skating, Id recommend going to one of the earlier sessions. Tuesday nights are pretty busy for 18+ only.

Pretty much the only place to skate indoors in San Diego and its great! Check the schedule for skate times. There are all skate times as well as adults only. Skate rentals are available on site and there is a refreshment/snack counter. There are also lockers to rent there and a skate shop for all your roller skating needs. Go check it out!

One of my favorite places in San Diego. Great music, a nice floor, and wonderful staff. It can sometimes be a little crowded, but early morning or later in the evening, things thin out, making it easier to get up to speed.Also a good place for a birthday party, esp for kids. :)

So this is basically the only skating place nearby but do not visit it at all. The food is super low quality, it is hotter than the fires of Hades inside, and it is in a super super unsafe area. There are people smoking pot and breaking into cars right outside the doors of this establishment. The cleanliness is very low and the parking is a little annoying.

$5 family night is so much fun!

Workers were not that nice and they use walkers for new skaters instead of reinforcing family and friends helping each other or having special days for people that need training and practice and they let new people and new kids with walkers all over the rink instead of saying if your new please skate next to the wall instead so no one is dodging you or tripping over you and possibly hurting you... So this rink wasnt nice like the one is where I come from and you dont win prizes or tickets or anything for winning in any games over all I just dont see this place lasting long it isnt really safe or fun... Maybe they could say its for little kids only so no one gets any expectations of actually skating after they waste their money... Hope they fix the place up and make it a nicer rink and make some good rules that will make for a nicer experience even if they added a 30 minutes ear and there of speed skater time or pro skater time where they ask the beginners to get off once in a while would be nice thats also what my rink would do ah well we will see

Super friendly staff, good entertainment, moderate prices. For my personal liking the music could be a bit louder and there could be bit more of a light show, but then it was family skate time and not disco bowling. I will most certainly return.

Love this place! Wood roller rink with rental skates available and assist devices called skate mates for the beginners. Very helpful and friendly staff. There is also a skate shop to purchase skates and accessories.

Bring your family here and get off the couch. They have a fun DJ, big TV for football viewing, and their pro shop will set you up and dial you in for the best time on skates. I just bought skates for my first time ever. It makes sign I big difference. My kids love theirs as well because you have so much better control and ease. We got a free month of skating with each purchase of a pair of skates. The kids and I love them and had so much fun holding hands rolling round the rink.

My boyfriend and I went a little while ago. Its definitely fun! Its stuffy though, and the food and drinks are way overpriced. Admission is okay. You pay for a locker if you bring stuff. People wear their skates in the bathrooms though, and the employees all touch the skates. It honestly grossed me out, and I am sure there are a fair amount of germs all about the rink. If that doesnt deter you, then you should be fine. There are colored, flashing lights, a disco ball, loud speakers playing a variety of music, and a rink filled with people. Skate at your own risk.

Great place! It seems like it is a refurbished 1950s era basketball gym with great sound and lights! I take my daughter here a lot and we have a great time, and it is very reasonably priced. They also have a decent food for a skating rink. Big fan, great way to kill 2-3 hours with your kids!

Awesome place! We had a bunch of fun here. The prices are reasonable for rentals and whatnot. We enjoyed every minute of it and had no issues.

Place looks exactly like it did years 20+ years ago. Could use a revamp but still fun to take the kids out to skate.

The skating rink is so much fun. I would stay away from some of the food. Pizza is alright. Be very aware of the skate buddies... they are everywhere! We had a great time
