SCAM ORGANIZATION, ALL EMAILS AND CALLS GO UNANSWERED, NO REFUND FOR CANCELLED LEAGUEI paid $120 for a basketball league over 6 months ago that was immediately cancelled after the first week due to Covid. While this is understandably out of their control, their response to this has been unacceptable and criminal.Instead of the obvious response - refunding everyone whos league was cancelled since they were not able to provide the service people paid for, they just kept everyones money with some vague promise of playing in the future. This is completely unacceptable and illegal. It has now been over 6 months without any update or news on when our games will resume. Since it has been so long, some players on the team have moved to different areas, or have moved on to different things. Resuming the league at this point is not an option, especially after such a long period of time. You cant just take peoples money and refuse to refund it with no plans to resume after 6 months. All emails to their corporate email go unanswered, and their phone line immediately goes to voice mail.Do not sign up for any games with this organization. They will simply keep your money, and you will never be able to play a game. This is unacceptable, and illegal. Everyone else on my team is in the same position, and on my team alone, they scammed us out of over $800 collectively. Since there were dozens of team signed up for our league alone, the total amount they have scammed players is likely in the range of tens of thousands.Vavi has apparently used covid to conduct an exit scam and steal thousands of dollars in players money. Do not pay for any games or league with this organization, you will not be able to play, and you will have no recourse to get your money back. All emails and phone calls are unanswered, they have apparently closed down and are no longer in operation.I am currently in talk with other players to launch a lawsuit in small claims, and I have contacted city officials. If you were one of the many hundreds of players they have scammed, I encourage you to do the same, this is criminal and completely unacceptable.

I have not received any updates on refund for league that has been cancelled due to COVID-19. They only offered me credits and have gone silent since I asked for my money back.

Poorly planned and organized. Ive gone through three attempts to join a 11v11 league and theyve refunded me every time because theyre unable to place [me] in a team due to a [high/low] volume of signups.

I don’t think I will sign up again next year. Very disappointing season. I only got to play 3 games this year because nobody ever shows up, and either my team or the opposing team always has to forfeit. The officials are there just counting down the seconds. They don’t even try to hide there excitement of getting to go home early.

I was always interested in playing sports post high school. This allowed me to continue to participate in different levels of soccer, basketball, flag football. They offer a large variety of sports with different skill levels for everyone. Fortunately, Ive been able to sign up with teams, but also seen they have free agency for individuals. Places have been decent locations, not far if you pick the right league as well as specific days and times that fit your schedule.

VAVi is a wonderful company! If youre new to San Diego and want to meet new people while staying active VAVi is a perfect match. The company is very well-organized, and consists of a super friendly staff. VAVi provides a wide variety of different sports from soccer to even a hiking club! In addition, you can choose the level of competitiveness of the league. Each league is assigned a sponsor bar where you are able to celebrate with a drink or two after the game, win or lose. This makes it even easier to bond with your teammates and make new friends. I would highly recommend this company to anyone living in San Diego. From my experience having a league to look forward to every week has increased my overall Heath both mentally and physically.

VAVi is such a great company! I came across their leagues because I had just moved to San Diego and wanted to continue staying active with sports after college and start meeting new people. I was incredibly satisfied with my experience. The first league I joined was indoor volleyball as a free agent. Not knowing many people in the area yet, I took a risk and it turned out great! It got me out of my comfort zone and met some awesome people. The idea of each league having a certain sponsor bar near the leagues venue made it even easier to get to know fellow teammates and other VAVi-ers around town by having a drink or two after the games. Fast forward 3 years later, I have found myself playing VAVi kickball, softball, flag football, beach volleyball, and their new league--flip cup! Ive had so much fun trying new sports and playing at all the different competition levels. I highly recommend VAVi to anyone looking to stay physically and socially active!

Ive played in several leagues organized by VAVi Sport & Social Club including Soccer, Kickball, Basketball and Flag Football. The refs are great. You dont have to worry about buying jerseys and getting them numbered or paying ref fees after every game because everything is included in the registration price. Great champ prizes and sponsor bar deals. I definitely recommend their leagues to anyone who want to get out, play a sport, meet new people and have fun in San Diego.

I have played soccer, dodgeball, flag football and sand volleyball... oh yeah and inner tube water polo, over the years and Vavi has done a great job organizing leagues and creating a fun recreational sport experience. I highly recommend trying it out with a team or as a free-agent, which I have done a number of times. It really is a great way to meet people and have fun!

Vavi is by far one of the worst companies I have come across in my many years on Earth. They are overpriced penny-pinchers that employ untrained and unprepared referees. In addition, they have no regard for their customers and subsequently deploy some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I am surprised they have been able to stay in business this long.My friends and I have played Vavi softball for the last 5 years. We have been patient but are at the point where we are ready to move on. We have also played basketball and have tried their tennis league. Every single one of their leagues suffer from the same issues. Some examples of things that have happened in our 5 years of softball:1. We were moved from our high-quality field to a horrible field a few miles away with only a weeks notice. In addition, they pushed all our games 45 minutes later meaning we were playing games that ended at 10:30-11 on a Monday night. There were no apologies for this and they simply did not respond to us when we complained despite the fact that we had paid $800 to play on a nicer field. No refunds, no credits, no response at all.2. Our first game at that new field, they had not arranged for lights. After 10 minutes, we were told the game would be postponed and to go home. A complete waste of gas and time. Again, no response from Vavi.3. When it is raining, they do not cancel the games until the last minute. It was pouring rain outside so we called Vavi to ask if the games were cancelled. They said that despite the rain, the fields were open and we would play. We arrived at the field and were told the game is cancelled due to rain. How cheap do you have to be to wait until the start of the game to see if the rain will stop? There was a game before ours too. They tried to make them play despite the rain and had to cancel 20 minutes in because the field was too wet. No respect for anyones time or safety--just hyper focused on pinching their pennies.4. Vavi makes you sign a waiver to ensure they are not responsible for your safety. Thats normal. But there is absolutely nothing in place to try and keep us safe. The bases are often not secured into the ground so landing on them is dangerous and has caused many a twisted ankle. In addition, despite it being slow-pitch, we have seen lots of pitchers get beaned pretty severely. I hear San Diego Softball League (a competitor) actually puts a net in front of pitchers to avoid this. But guess whos too cheap? So maybe you have signed away your safety, but there is also preparation for when players are injured. We have seen many a player get beaned by a line drive and the refs have often had no first-aid kits or ice packs to help.5. Theyre just cheap. When we first started playing 5 years ago, the winning team was given a certificate for a free pitcher of beer at a nearby bar. Now when you win, they give you a handful of horrible coupons, i.e. coupons for tans or a free drink with purchase of a sandwich. No joke. Their league costs $699-799 per season, but I guess they cant afford anything but a cheap t-shirt with sponsors splayed all over the back. There are better companies to give our money to. And we plan on it.
