The REP produces work of high artist value that I really love. I respect their focus on diversity and I enjoy the intimacy of their spaces. Since the remodel of their lobby it is a different experience going to their shows. I like to get there early to enjoy the art exhibitions and to relax a bit with something to drink from their cafe.
I love the small San Diego Rep. My friend Jill was the woman that helped with the contributions to keep the art alive. I hope you can help support the theatre. It is great. Love to give gifts when people put a home from me. Art is always my gift back. I love you San Diego Rep.
It was an absolutely wonderful and fascinating one man show on the life of Ludwig van Beethoven I always enjoy these one-man shows. And this one did not disappoint at all. In fact it was stellar
Fun Home was an amazing show. Its a beautiful and real LGBT story that everyone can relate to. The performances were great, the box office is always helpful, and the new lobby looks very sleek.
I have always had a great experience at any production at the Lyceum Theater and specifically the Fringe productions. The staff at the Lyceum Theater are professionals. Looking forward to my next theater outing. Special thanks to Anne for her outstanding customer service and friendly support.
Very nice live theater. Nice location in Horton Plaza, theater recently remodeled. Generally good selection of plays.
FYI - I attended the performance of Waist Watchers on Saturday, March 5 with an out-of-town friend. The performance was fun and well done. We both enjoyed it.However, the experience before the performance embarassed me and made me consider cancelling the tickets I bought for a future performance. First: the usher at the door was rude. Not only did he refuse to allow anyone in the door even though the time was past 7:30 pm. and it was beginning to rain, but he was unfriendly and caustic. Then: the condition of the (construction) area through which we walked to get to the theatre was treacherous and unpleasant. The theatre was basically an open space with seats around it - no stage. There is only one set of restrooms which is decidedly distanced from the theatre.Perhaps it would be better to suspend operations during this period of construction or at least warn patrons of the conditions. I would not have brought a guest to this performance if i had known what lay in store for us. Also, the front door should be staffed by someone who has basic civility for those who paid to be there.
Variety of plays that reach diverse community groups. Always promoting community involvement Im the arts and social services. Ease parking and access.
The Rep is a great San Diego theater. While I dont always love the plays they choose to put on, they are always performed superbly! They can take what I might consider a dull play and make it shine. I never shy away from this theater - it is always and excellent choice.
The Rep has incredibly provacative plays, a great place to see theatre
