In the ever fluctuating covid19 era @BorderX has been on top of it. Upon entering there is a foam soap dispenser and sanitizer. Indoors is currently only for ordering.with a madk. Socisl distancing in the outdoor patio where food is also served. Plenty of tables ser up out front also. Did I mention they have great personnel and beer?

I love this place. The beer is delicious and I really enjoy that they have a taco man. Definitely recommend if you live in the area. There arent that many places like this around.

Sweet back patio hangs with a small space for live music. Inside is a bit dark and poorly put together. Short and sweet list of beers, but $7.50 for a pint is on the steep side, and the food options are limited. I’m all for small menus, but variety was lacking on this one.Overall, nice folks, good vibes, but the mosaic of the experience didn’t come together as nicely as I’d hoped.

Was passing through San Diego and had my heart set on Border X. Website and answering machine said they were open although google said they were closed (Monday). I’ve run into a couple of bars that had been having trouble getting Maps updated so we went ahead and were so bummed to see it was closed. Please update your site/machine Will try again next time!

Tacos are very good. Salsa bar is a nice touch. Great Happy Hour prices. $1.50 Weekdays noon-6:00 pm. Can’t beat that.

This is an amazing experience. The ambience and vibe of this place is welcoming. The Thursday night jazz is worth it. The place is fully packed with people from San Diego who love Latin Jazz.It’s a kid friendly place.Along with freshly brewed beer and house made wine; they serve tacos, nachos, burritos and pizzas. Also soda is available.This place has a open backyard which is nicely decorated with Christmas lights and there are couple of board games in here. Kids usually spend there time in here while their parents enjoy the Jazz performance.The only issue about this place is parking. You can get a street parking spot a couple of blocks away.Overall a really good place to visit if you are a Jazz lover.

The staff was excellent, fast, and efficient. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Will likely be returning to sample more of the menu.

Loved this place! First time here and on this uncertain times it is difficult to feel comfortable in any place... but here the vibe its amazing and relaxing and it makes you feel like the world its normal! We got to try all their beers in 2 flights we tried. We ended taking a Growler home fill with their sour beer which tasted amazing (coming from a person who hates sour beers). Ok, now the FOOD!!!! AMAZIIIIING!!! Their is a taco stand on their patio who serves the most amaziiing food ever! We tried their birria Quesa tacos and their shrimp tostadas and both were delishh!! Please give this place a chance and a try, you wont regretted!!

A great spot filled with art, cartoon drawings on the walls, and a nice back patio. They offer all sorts of weekly specials. Though they don’t have a ton of taps they do provide a great variety of good, quality beer.

Sweet brewery, with a great vibe. True to it’s colors, it has to be a must when you’re visiting SD. Favorite beer is “Aguelita’s chocolate stout” would definitely recommend trying out the brewery and their beers.

Talk about tacos, super delicious for sure. Their salsas do not disappoint and they even have these habanero onions that I can never find anywhere and they were bomb! We also played loteria and it was so much fun!! Its like playing with your family but not as aggressive Haha! As always this place is great and did I mention the brews? Soooooooo good!!

Get ready for a long wait on Saturdays. They rotate what beers they have every so often . Went for the cucumber sour but they didnt have it. Price of tacos went up to 3 for 10$. 1 for 4$.

My absolute favorite brewery in all of Barrio Logan! Beautiful & meaningful wall art! Delicious delicious beers and live music depending on the day & time you go, so I would recommend going on a Friday if you are into Rock en Español. What I love about Border X aside from their wall art, live music & overall atmosphere is their tailored drinks towards Mexican culture, you have the blood saison which has jamaica & agave and the horchata golden stout. I would highly recommend both but my absolute favorite is the blood saison paired with some of Turys tacos which are located in the outdoor patio area this establishment offers.

Great nano brewery in Barrio Logan! We had a taster of all 8 beers and thought they were all tasty, with the favorites being Abuelas Sweet Stout and Belgian Wit.

Go for the beer! Blood Saison is excellent. DO NOT take the 32 oz salsa containers to your table. You will be harassed by staff if you do. Hey Border X staff, 1) no other establishment makes such s fuss over salsa 2) boosting up your self-serve area to make it convenient for customers will help eliminate your kitchen staff from having to bother customers about the salsa 3) there is lots of competition for food in your area- be nice.

Came in today to learn more about the brewing process for an SDSU project and had the pleasure of meeting Alex and Sammy who educated us about the brewery process showing us their equipment. The place is great to hang out in and the care and passion they put into their beer is insane. I highly recommend checking this place out very low key community friendly vibes thank you for letting us document your establishment for our project.

Big fan of this one. Had to check it out while I was in San Diego for the weekend and the staff and locals were very helpful and friendly. Love the identity and vibe they had at this place. Highly recommend to come check out. Only thing I wish they had more beer selection.

It was my 1st time here, tried several beers & it wasnt bad. Even found a Sour I liked & i dont drink Sours ha! Good atmosphere, people seem to know each other & I felt comfortable. I didnt get to try any of their food, overall Id definitely come back & bring some friends.

The Horchata (golden stout) was absolutely delicious and quite surprising. Abuelita was a very classic chocolate stout. Now the mind blowing pour was the Saladita, a salt & coriander goze that goes down smooth with lots of flavor. The place has a fun atmosphere, great beer garden in the back and a pleasant lounge area with a space for a band (I heard they play music some nights). The bartenders were also super friendly and helpful. They allowed my beau to have a handful of splashes until he found a beer that HE could enjoy. I just loved them all (Im the beer drinker)!!!

Was actually really disappointed. We had heard such great things about this place and were so excited to try their beers. When we got there we tried every last thing they had and most tasted lackluster and honestly like they were watered down. Plus they were out of the horchata golden stout, which really bummed me out.Staff was nice, though.

Its really crowded on a Thursday night but its so fun and inviting, they have a lot of beer on tap and their tacos are good too! Their open jazz sessions are the best! If you play an instrument, or you want to dance or listen, this is your place! The heart of Barrio Logan!

Great beer. Different from so many others ive tried. Every one is so nice and live music is always a plus. If this is your first time, the tasting flights are $2. I recommending trying all of them. I didnt try the tacos this time, but will the next time Im here.

I love this spot! Its actually family and pet friendly! Bring the kids on the weekends and enjoy the street tacos in the back patio. Or leave the kid and bring the dog. JK. What I love about this place is the free music! On Thursdays its Latin Jazz night. I highly recommend it! They also have a Loteria night. Fun twist on the game. They have a DJ making it pretty fun! This place is super fun, especially when theres art walks/art events in the neighboring galleries and studios. Theres music, outdoor seating, and tacos. It can get super crowded at times but worth it! I recommend the hibiscus beer.

Horchata Golden Stout is phenomenal. A new favorite for the rotation. And the tasting room is really well designed with great art work all over. Definitely worth a visit.

It was great! Not being from San Diego it was a chill spot. The bartender was great and beautiful I must say. And the tacos were on point. I will definitely go back.

Day time experience is quite nice, night time they occasionally have live bands playing. The food is okay with a beer, the beer selection is quite limited but with good options. Indoor, and outdoor seating with a couple games to play. Restrooms are available as well. No private parking so finding parking may take a minute or two.

I remember when I used to go to Barrio Logan only for the warehouse parties. It’s nice to see that it’s becoming a trendy place with more options. Really enjoyed the vibe of this place, specially the patio which is perfect for groups. The beer is good and the taco and mula menu even better. And on Fridays they even have rock en español night!

Service was awful. No acknowledgement from the bartender as we walked in, food had to be ordered outside which is fine, but she made no effort to help us though we were clearly lost. The people who took our order never said a word to us, and even though there is a window into the bar still made us walk back outside to actually get the food. They put literally nothing on the tacos except the meat. Beer was good, though made no effort to garnish, which as bartender this all is not acceptable. Will not be returning

Love this place. We’ve gone there often for the Tuesday night taco special, which cannot be beat. There’s often live music (check their schedule) and the beer selection is great. Plenty of seating space both indoor and outdoor so you aren’t fighting for table space or waiting forever in a line. Great place for groups.

It does not feel socially acceptable to go out on the patio during light rain conditions.There are a couple of standard beers on tap (hef, SD pale) and also some custom flavors like horchata blonde stout and agave blood orange. Whether youre looking for a new batch of a regular brew, or a surprisingly-good experiment, this is place has it, and also sometimes live music and a kitchen.

We were there for their 4th year Anniversary celebration and the loteria game played was super fun. They regularly play loteria on Tuesdays. Beer selection was good and atmosphere was enjoyable. There is a taco shop inside the brewery, their food is okay, not great just okay.

Ceviche was awesome! The tacos were bland and they didnt have cilantro! What self-respecting vato loco eats tacos without onion and cilantro!

I was expecting a lot more from this place.I went on a taco tuesday, and honestly they just poured the two flight of beer, but failed to mention what the name of the beer was. Also, the tacos took more than an hour to be served and the wait wasnt even worth it because they were not good. While their beer is different out of the 8 beers I liked two, but didnt love them. Would not recommend!! The reason for two stars is because the place is nice but needs some cleaning also.

A cultural Mecca at the heart of Barrio Logan. I recommend going on Thursday nights if you enjoy Latin Jazz. The beer is one of a kind, fusing the best Latin flavors with traditional brewing styles. Over all, an experience you absolutely cant miss while in San Diego.

Great beer selections to try. Went with the blood saison, and despite it being 7.5% it didnt taste strong. Turys tacos is also full of great selections that will leave you satisfied. Got a little. It off everything and I was not disappointed. Plus they have games you can play!

Cool place. Parking was a little bit of a hassle, as there is no designated parking lot, but there is plenty of neighborhood parking. Ambiance was nice. Staff were very nice, and the beer prices were on happy hour pricing until 6pm, so that was a happy surprise. What I was bummed about was the lack of available Border X made beers. They only had three of their own beers on tap. What?! They also had a few guest taps. I tried two of their beers: an horchata golden stout and a yuzu belgian pale ale. The horchata golden stout didnt have any noticeable flaws, and was easy to drink. In my opinion it could use a little more horchata character. Definitely an easy beer to drink, even at 8%. The Yuzu pale ale was also very well done, and I could easily drink multiples of it. Overall, Id definitely come back if I find myself in the area. Glad I checked it out.

If you’d like to go to a place where it is definitely not kid friendly and these so called poets are out cursing and spreading hatred and racist comments in front of your family when you’re trying to have dinner then this is your place. The beer was good but the atmosphere and the vibe of violence and hatred towards America was pretty disgusting. I won’t be coming back here ever again.And the tacos were mediocre at best.
