We enjoyed the bar drinks as well as the food it was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I had so much fun here! And will be back the next time.

Really enjoyed the hookah here, we had a Special Glass Hookah with the red grapefruit bowl and went for a fruity/fresh flavor since they dont have specific flavors but they can make many mixes based on what you are looking for. The staff was very knowledgable and polite throughout the whole night. We also got a Jasmine tea for four with honey and sugar on the side. As for the price, the Special Glass Hookah was the most expensive since as they explained it was a lot easier to smoke but they also offered the Regular and the Art Hookah as well for a lower price. I will definetly come back during our next visit to San Diego and take a little more time to pick different things since they do have a different selection of bowls and base fillings to choose from.

I go out every weekend yet I had never been to this bar. Last night my friends decided that it would be a good idea for me to see this bar, so I agreed, and I dont regret it at all. Surprisingly it lived up to the hype its had for all of these years. I didnt want to go because I thought people were inflating this bars ambiance and character. I loved this bar- it is the epitome of what a bar should represent on Sunset Blvd. Its hip/sexy/sheikh and has great music. The cocktails are strong and the bartenders are nice.

This is a bad experince overall.We checked their webpage which says they have happy hour pricing till 7PM.When we got checked out he said there is no happy hour. We never got our receipt so we check the prices.Very unwelcomed atmosphere.Poor customer service.

After coming here consistently for about a month this is the only place I can find peace of mind and take the time to think, and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff are very accommodating, understanding and polite. You may have to get up to ask for extra things after the original order but Its definitely better than being asked left and right if everything is okay. The tea and hookah never disappoint. The overall vibe is very relaxing. The majority of the seating is very comfortable, and even the music compliments the overall relaxing vibe.

Came here on a Saturday night, wow they were packed but they were still accommodating to our group of 7. Service was solid and the hookah is amazing! I asked them why do the hookahs here taste so good and they managed Alex told me they use high end hookahs called regals. If you smoke hookah and you haven’t been here then do your self a favor and come ASAP!!!!

Absolutely loved this place.If youre looking to have a nice chill time with a small group of friends while having the chance to play some board games, this is the place.Unlike most other loud places on Gaslamp, this place has a calm positive vibe while adhering to mighty high standards with respect to quality.We called for a Regular Hookah that lasted for about 45 minutes till the first coal change [which is commendable] and then decided to shell another 12$ on a refill [Totally worth it, given how strong they make these]. Our servers were nice and polite and never hesitated once when we asked them for a coal change [which we did multiple times]. There was ample seating which was refreshing to see on a Friday night in the busiest district in Downtown San Diego. While we didnt venture into board games, we could see other larger groups trying their hand at some of them provided by the cafe.The one call-out I do have is that this place doesnt serve whiskey or hard liquor. None the less a brilliant place if youre looking to get away from all the noise and have a good meaningful time with a small group.

I used to have my own hookah place in Florida and I have never had that good hookah. It is so smooth and tasty. I can say that in this place the best hookah in the U.S. I have ever tried. The design is perfect to relax and have a good time with your friends. Highly recommended.

Amazing Lounge. Great Prices and products available. As an avid hookah smoker it’s amazing to finally go to a lounge that 1. Knows how to pack bowls 2. Actually uses quality hookah stems, bowls, hoses, and HMD’s. Usually I don’t bother going to a lounge because I can always smoke at home but Art Hookah Lounge is the first lounge where I feel like I’m actually paying for a service I wouldn’t get elsewhere. It’s nice to be able to sit back and not have to worry about getting my hookah ready or dealing with coals. Glad I was able to have tangiers in this lounge. Art and design of lounge was well done and the mural of Hookah Boss was also pretty cool. I’d recommend this to anyone in the San Diego area.

Hookah was one of the best Ive had. It was clean and smooth. The hot chocolate was amazing. The only issue I had was our server. He was rude and was playing with his necklace or was on his phone when talking to us. The other staff were super nice and kind.

This hookah lounge officially became my favorite anytime Im visiting SD, and theres no other place Id recommend! Im very picky about my hookah, because I work at a hookah lounge myself in LA and I know A-Z about hookahs, flavors, etc. I was expecting less but was very pleased with the service, the flavoring, and the food!This place is located in the Gaslamp District of San Diego, around very many bars and clubs which is why this place is open late 2:30-4am depending on the day of the week. I would suggest walking or ubering, as there is minimal parking.The venue itself is spacious and the tables are not too close to each other which is nice. The artwork in the lounge is my favorite part because it sets the vibe in. The music is in the background so youre able to hear conversation. I love that one or two people are able to sit at their bar seating to smoke hookah, gives off the gastropub, rustic feel of the place.They do not serve alcohol, but they do have delicious smoothies, shakes, lemonades, and a good variety of food to choose from. They provide complimentary water at your table to start with. Our favorite from the menu was the Acai Bowl, which was delicious and a great snack late night.The hookah flavors are not on their menu, just tell them a specific flavor or a mix blend that youll like and choose your hookah type and theyll create something for you! The hookahs are Regals, and it does not come over foil, but in a metal bowl. They supply different hookah types as well, such as glass hookahs, fruit bowls, ice tips, and you can even put milk or juice as your base instead of water. The hookahs are happy hour $12 from 3-7pm and after the regular hookahs are a base price of $25. They check ID at the door, so 21 & over only! On the plus side, they do have Tangiers! And they sell flavors and bowls like a smoke shop.One thing that was different than usual for me, was that they dont supply tongs at your convenience, the hookah guys just come around occasionally to fix your coals and make sure everything is working properly. But its nice because youre not blowing the coals everywhere and you get to enjoy smoking and have someone else fix it for you. The hookah lasts a good 1.5-2 hours and then its time for a refill. They made us good mixes, and we were pleased with our experience.The check in discount is only for the glass hookahs! That should be stated somewhere on yelp, but good thing we asked.The service during the day is slower than at night when they are more attentive to the crowd. Very intimate setting, not too crowded, and everything is a 5/5. They also have games! If this place made me come back two days in a row in my 3 day stay in SD, Im definitely coming back next time Im visiting.

Super chill place. Ive never been to a hookah lounge nd was a but skeptical but this place exceeded my expectations by a long shot. The lattes were amazing nd presented so well! Nothing is halfassed here lol the hookah was a bit expensive but for the service and quality you get here, its worth it in my opinion. They have so many flavors that its nearly impossible to list them in a menu so they just ask you questions to narrow down what you want. First they asked if you want the regular hookah or the ice bowl. Then they ask wether you want sweet or sour, with or without fruit, ect. We order the ice bowl with melon and vanilla icecream and BOY! It was so smooth and so good!! I havent tried other hookah places but this is definitely something to try in San Diego!

They have great, and I mean VERY smooth, hookah along with over 200 flavors. The staff there arent typical at your service with big smiles but thats ok because I really rather be left alone to smoke, talk, and mind my own business until I need their assistance. Its quiet in there even during the weekend after all the drunks come in- it has an atmosphere that demands it. Its a very roomy, quiet, loungey and studious place.

Read the reviews on Google so we gave this place a try, there was no line outside. We were after a table for three until the waiter said it was all reserved, we then pointed out the two spares tables on the left and the server said if youre willing to spend 100 USD then well let you sit. Very unacceptable. Would not recommend even if its just for a smoke.

I started coming here while working for Fumari, after closing the Fumari lounge, I still visit Art; even after leaving Fumari. This picture is from the front of their lounge; there are about 5 other couch areas for bigger groups, but plenty of 1-2 seats and bar seating. (They do lot serve alcohol). The vibe is so relaxing and very quiet, although weekends can get incredibly busy. There is local art hung on the walls, dim cozy lighting and an overall sense of relaxation. They have a delightful array of hookahs, shisha, coffees, teas, and food. Their lemonades are very refreshing and made with fresh fruit/mint. The hibiscus tea is my personal favorite and their acai bowl is so yummy. I usually prefer a minty exotic fruit hookah and it never disappoints (thanks Alex). They have happy hour until 7pm.

Its a nice, cost environment with a good sized menu; you can get food or drinks along with your hookah. The hookah is good and the service attentive. Its a little expensive given the location, and if you arent a frequent hookah smoker then the smoke inside can be a little overwhelming at first.

This place has great shisha Im biased because I know the owner of Tangiers, but I found this place a hit or miss Ive been there twice when Im in town the first time was great but it was during the weekend great service rid of tension not letting your Bowl die. But the last time I went was like a week ago hows the worst service Ive ever had in any hookah lounge Ive been, Ive been smoking a hookah for at least 13 years and I worked out because I was before. What I mean this is the worst service it was, my bowl died at list 5 times, if you smoke hookah regularly you know its very hard to reheat up a cold bowl it doesnt taste the same. the server could even stop by check on us not even once he was occupied talking with the other employees,and my group actually have to get up to call him over to bring us fresh coals. I know it was a Monday night but there was customers there besides us.I recommend to go during the weekend, besides that I wouldnt waste my time during the week unless they change there staff

Stopped in here in July 15 and its a beautiful lounge with chill music and very high quality hookah equipment. They have glass Art Hookahs and i think Regal hookahs with high quality funnel bowls (i think from hookahjohn) and natural charcoal. Better than all of that was the service. Dennis took great care of us from 1-3am or so! He mixed up some delicious non-alcoholic beverages for us that were really tasty. Would definitely go back.

I came in to smoke hooka for the first time at this place and i would have to say it was a nice spot to chill. But when me and my friend got seted it took them a long time not only to get us our menus but i had to flag down a sever just to get our drinks. when they wernt even buiesy. would come back if service was better.
