This place rocks!I have always wanted to get into archery but never really knew how to get started. I asked around and Performance Archery came highly recommended from everyone. I took the introductory compound bow class with Craig at I was hooked! Craig held a great class plus was super helpful and fun to work with. They have an awesome indoor range and after you take the class you can just show up and rent equipment. After the class I came back multiple times over the course of 3 weeks to rent and shoot some more (also to see if I was really committed to the process).Once I was ready to take the dive and buy my own bow, I was helped by Tanner. Tanner was super helpful explaining all of my available options based on my experience level and the price point I was looking to spend. He was never pushy at all and did a great job educating me along the way. He got me set up with a Mathews bow. Just about 1.5 months later and a ton of time spent on the range and Im more in love with it everyday!Every time I go back to Performance to us the range everyone is extremely helpful. Craig is always helping me work on my skills, Tanner is always available to answer any technical questions, and Dylan has also always been super helpful with any questions I have as well. Overall, everyone who works there truly cares about the people they serve and their dedication to providing quality customer service is top notch.I cant recommend this place enough. Went looking for service and maybe a new bow. Didnt get a good vibe from the folks behind the counter. They came across as distant and uninterested in helping me. They seemed plenty friendly with the other patrons who looked like them, though. Kinda disappointed cuz I like to support local. Ill buy my bow elsewhere.

Went to performance archery today for the first time and received really exceptional service. Very professional very helpful and very reasonable. A staff member named Dylan really went over and above taking care of us. Its always nice to find a place thats more focused on giving great service instead of just pushing sales. Let me start by saying, I gave five stars because 10 was not an option. I was introduced to Bob and his staff through story telling on a tailgate at the local archery range (542 miles away). I had to see it with my own eyes. We drove just under nine hours to pick up our bows, shoot and have them tuned. Little did I know that the bow was already driving tacks at 20 yards. Never have I purchased a bow and already had my peep set without myself shooting it first. Tanner is the best bow technician on the West Coast. There is nothing that Performance Archery can not do to make you a better shooter. Bob and his staff is world class and treats everyone that walks through the door the same way. I spent seven hours in the shop shooting, having arrows built, trying different releases, anything that would make me a better shooter. Bob made sure that when I left his shop I would be confident in the process of shooting my new bow. I am and will be a customer for life.

I took my 10 and 13 year old daughters here for their Introductory Course. Craig the instructor did an excellent job and by the end of the class we were all hitting the target consistently! Great way to get out of the house during these Covid times and do something different while being safe!

First time getting into bow hunting. Didn’t know too much walking in. They were really patient and helpful throughout. Worked with me for over two hours to make sure I walked out with the right bow. 10/10 would recommend.

Took an archery lesson on a Wednesday and had such a great time I ended up bringing my family and friends the same week for their lesson. My family and I now all practice archery and have had bought bows and equipment from Performance Archery. A good place with knowledgable staff.

The beginner lesson was a great way to get me started with archery. Ive always wanted to try archery as a kid. So, being a 20 year old who is free to do what he wants, I came here to try it out for the first time, and it was fun! The instructor was a great guy and overall I had a good time. My husband and I went there with our son yesterday to take our first lesson and we had an incredible time! We wanted to have more options and things to do together as a family. Craig was our instructor and he is an absolutely phenomenal individual. You take a one hour lesson which includes the basics and shooting time. Then, once the class is over, you now have the option to come in and shoot at your leisure and rent their equipment. The cost to continue in this fun endeavor is so reasonable we will definitely be there frequently as a family!

I went to the Beginner lesson with my husband and brother. None of us had prior archery experience so we werent quite sure what to expect. The lesson was extremely fun! Craig, the instructor, was very thorough in explaining everything regarding the bow, shooting, and safety. It was a very comfortable environment.It is $25/person through their website for the lesson and I believe it was well worth it for the hour long activity. Better yet, once you take the lesson, its only $10 to rent the equipment and $10/hour for the lane rental. Great value for a fun activity!They also do team building events which Im curious to look into!

Great customer support. I had the pleasure of being helped by Bob. By the time I got off the phone with him and made my way to shop, he had exactly what I was looking for set up and ready to tune in. After some pointers with my form and some final touches tuning up my new bow, I got my first ever Robin Hood! Can’t recommend enough!

Bought a new bow at Performance Archery. Everyone I encountered at the shop was friendly and helpful. They make sure that your setup correctly by taking the time to have you shoot to make sure your sights are sighted in, length of pull is comfortable, etc. Would recommend for anyone looking for their first bow or someone looking to upgrade to the latest greatest.

Ive recently just starting going into Performance. Ive been shooting for about 15 years.I took a friend in to get him started on his journey into archery. He was trying out some different bows and I spent some time at the range shooting. Bob asked if Id like some pointers and of course I accepted his instruction. He continued to watch me shoot, told me that I might need to take .5 out of my draw length, and if I didnt like it hed put it right back. Long story short be helped fix some issues Ive been having and helped my shooting become more consistent.Ive upgraded some parts on my 6 year old bow, new sight, new rest and a few other things. Changed my arrow spine and really helped me out.Im sure if you look online you might find things cheaper. But with that cheap purchase you lose the individual help and customization of your bow and accessories. They do not rush through customers nor do they pressure you to buy the most expensive of anything they sell. If you really intend to spend some money it is really worth the time to be patient because they will give you a ton of information and individual help if you do.Theyve got a customer for life.Tony

I went in looking for my first bow. I was a tad nervous going in but very excited. I ended up getting help from Craig, and he was beyond awesome. He measured my draw length, he listened to what I wanted, and he had some really good suggestions. He helped me pick out a Matthews Vertix and I absolutely love it. Ive been in a couple times to shoot at their indoor range (spacious, I like it) and I just really like it. The shop feels comfortable, everyone Ive talked to has been really helpful, and I honestly couldnt be happier with my experience. Go and check them out.

My first visit: had a team building event. Great place, staff provided an excellent explanation on how to properly use the equipment to new people to this sport, but also had a strong emphasis on safety. Great place to have such an event... Oh yes, a great opportunity to talk to people from work with whom we usually dont, and in a very relaxing atmosphere.

I cant thank the entire staff and crew at Performance Archery enough for all their help they have given us. My son and I are relatively new to archery, and they have been fantastic helping us out. We have been coming here for several months now and every time it has been an excellent experience.

I’m brand new to archery and have been intimidated by the amount of knowledge needed to even shoot an arrow accurately but I finally got around to getting a bow. The guys at precision archery were very helpful especially JR, he helped me with everything start to finish! He spent a bunch of time even teaching me proper grip and form. This place was awesome! Craig was our teacher for the beginners class and he did a great job! It wasn’t a long drawn out lesson of how to do every little thing with hardly any time to actually practice. He told us what we had to do and gave us tips and safety info and then let us get started! I am definitely going back and would highly recommend! :)

All I can say is simply amazing. What a great experience. I am not from southern california nor do I live there.My local area has 4 archery pro shops but is nothing like this one. From the minute I called to see if they had the bow I wanted to the time I left the shop every question was answered. The staff is friendly and made my time at the shop worth it. I spent 3 hours shooting and tuning my bow on the indoor range to make sure my set up was perfect. I left with confidence that my equipment was perfect. Performance Archery is the real deal and I will be back. A+++ experience.

Been going to Performance Archery for 2 years now so I thought it was about time I shared my experiences. Friendly, knowledgeable staff that are always more than willing to answer all questions no matter how basic or advanced it may be. I shoot Mathews bows primarily & always rely on their team to dial in my rig and make sure everything is solid before opening day of hunting season. Never disappointed, highly recommend them if you are ever in the market for a new Bow or tuning your current setup. Range is great too! Clean, fairly good size and offers intro to archery classes weekly for people who are missing out on this great sport.

The one-hour beginners class with Craig was way too short and so much fun!The classs objective was to build a solid foundation in archery and Craig totally met it. He was very patient to answer our questions. The rules, instructions, and gears were clearly explained. The class size was perfect.Performance archery is a safe and fun place to learn archery. This shop has everything you need to either get started, upgrade or service your gear. I found the reps to be very attentive and very helpful. I had so many questions, I needed so much information and I wanted to see and try lots of choices. I found Alex to be an excellent member of the staff. Not only he educated me on brands models pros and cons but he showed me how to to shoot certain bows. I was really impressed with how willing to help he was...I compared the prices to another shop and the prices were for the most part the same. There are a couple of brands that are not found in this shop but plenty to choose from. I have not reason not to give them my business and let them help me get started. Slow weekdays are the best time to go there to learn and buy.

BEST BOW SHOP HANDS DOWN!! I’ve been bow hunting for over 20 years and have visited numerous bow shops around the country; Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington State, Oregon, and Arizona. Performance Archery pro staff treats you like family. I bought a Hoyt Satori 19 inch riser with 50 pound short limbs and a dozen VAP arrows, they created a solid set-set up for me. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and professional. At PA you’re not just a customer, you’re like family. They have archery equipment for beginners to the most serious hunting and target archer. They outfitted my daughter with a Samick Sage 35 pound recurve now and went through the entire bows nomenclature for her. I have been going to Performance Archery for many years, Bob Fromme and staff taught my sons to shoot in the indoor range. The service and equipment choices are excellent and the fine tuning of the bows I purchased there greatly improved my groupings.

7 of us went today for the 1 hour lesson, including my 10 year old daughter. Taylor was our instructor and he was so helpful with the 10 year old. Great lesson !!! We will be back - Feeling like we finally found a sport for the whole family !

Visiting San Diego for a couple of weeks and wanted to shoot some arrows. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the practice range is perfect for what I wanted to do. The shop has everything you need, whether youre an experienced hunter or like me, a novice traditional archer, this is the place to visit if you are in San Diego and enjoy archery.

I dont ever give 5 stars as I believe that to get 5 stars you dont need to improve anything. With Performance Archery they dont need to improve much. The staff very knowledgeable and helpful and for a 1st timer that was very helpful. I would drive from Corona to San Diego with no question.

Im new to archery, so I have to trust people at archery stores. We only have three here in San Diego witch limits who I can learn from. A friend introduced me to Performance Archery, and most people who work there seem to be nice. I decided to purchase a bow, the one I decided on had to be ordered. While I was waiting I decided on some arrows, I asked them to make a dozen for me. The bow came, the arrows were made, now I can shoot. My explanation for the three stars. When I purchased the bow, I asked if they could go any lower on the price, I was told no, a week later I found the exact bow 100 dollar cheaper at another store. They charged me extra money to have the arrows spine aligned, but the arrows came from the factory spine aligned, and they didnt give me the nocks that came with the arrows. It sucks being new to something and trying to find someone to trust.

Didnt have to wait but five minutes and once the staff got my bow and my order he was on it! A very helpful and knowledgeable staff! I recommend Performance Archery to everyone who loves archery and hunts or just shoots for fun! They have a wide assortment of bows! They are not snobby when it comes to bows. I have an old bow but they where still helpful and suggested products that upgraded my old bow at a reasonable price!

Im a new archer. Just completed a 6 week class at Morley with a great group of folks. Came here to buy my first set of arrows. Completely negative experience. I feel like newbies arent welcome. Its a busy day but Ive worked and managed retail for many years. Every customer should be acknowledged and welcomed. I was mostly ignored and then couldnt get much when I finally got someone. Sorry if Im not spending hundreds of dollars today but I was looking at a $75 pack of arrows. Thought that was worth a few questions. Was told, well, if youre not serious... What do I have to do to qualify as serious?? Im just a new archer looking for help to spend money in your store. I left after not being able to get help a second time to complete a purchase. I recommend Lakeside. Much more helpful.

Went in on a weekday and was asked if I needed any help within a couple minutes of walking through the door. Checked out a couple recurves and decided to ask if I could shoot it and test it out. The employee said absolutely and took me to the range, handed me 3 arrows, and let me have at it. After shooting he asked if I liked it and I did, then he told me no need to hurry and that I should take my time and do some research. Excellent customer service and I even got to make an informed decision by shooting the bow!

Went here to get my wife into a bow that fit her, was comfortable, and felt right for her. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted and allowed to browse without the dreaded hovering salesman. When we were ready for help, someone was there without trying to track someone down. We were assisted from start to finish. Draw length, Draw weight, and sighting in, and arrow cutting were all taken care of. Once I had my wife taken care of, I decided maybe I need a new bow too. Same salesman on repeat process with me. Went down, only looking to get one bow, walked out with two. Great place, great environment, great people. I will be returning. I am never the guy to leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so for this shop. They were incredibly flexible with my schedule and everyone in the store asked if I needed any help as I poked around the store. I ended up having every question I had answered, and then some. I am relatively new to archery and the people working were eager to help me get a solid foundation of both knowledge and technique so that I could continue to practice on my own. I never felt like I was pushed to buy anything and every suggestion I was given was methodical and extremely helpful for my growth as an archer. The employees are all extremely knowledgeable/experienced and obviously passionate about helping people from all levels of archery reach their individual goals whatever they may be. I will continue to return here and I highly recommend checking out this shop if you have even the slightest inclination to learn about archery.

This is hands down the best Archery shop in all of north county. Not only is the shop itself awesome but the staff are all extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and they really make you feel welcome. I went into Performance not knowing much and when I left I felt like I had a solid knowledge base and I was already looking forward to going back. They have an awesome selection of bows, gear, targets and just about anything you can think of relating to archery. Their prices are extremely competitive, the indoor shooting range they have is clean and well setup and they even have a vending machine so you can get a drink and sit and watch people shoot. They have extremely talented bow technicians who make it a point to make sure everything is personally fit and dialed before you walk out the door and they work with you one on one and answer any/all questions you may have. I can go on and on about the staff, environment, gear and the entire experience but I just recommend you do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

I am brand new to the world of Archery and I am so thankful that I started at Performance Archery! This store has top of the line staff and equipment. Bob the owner, was so patient in answering all of my various questions on different pieces of equipment. He really spent the time and effort to customize the Mathews Triax bow to my needs for hunting and target shooting. Fain and Craig are also extremely helpful with all of the fine tuning of the actual bow sights, peep hole, etc. Craig even took the time to watch me shoot on the indoor range, and offered some “ suggestions” to improve my form. (My accuracy immediately improved). I am such a fan of Performance Archery and all of the incredible staff that I cannot say enough great things about this place! My family and I enjoy going here often as it is a wonderful place to spend time with family and our new Archery friends. On a side note for any ladies, I highly recommend the new Mathews Triax bow at it is lightweight and really fun to shoot.

The largest archery shop in San Diego, if you cant find what you are looking for here, its unlikely youll find in anywhere else in San Diego County.Upside is, youll find a full archery range in the back with reasonable rates for bow rentals. The folks on staff are courtesy, if not a tad more relaxed than expected (compared to the Bow N Arrow Shop in Lakeside).Youll find a great selection of the higher end bows as well. Really cant think of anything negative to say, other than its a big shop, so you might not get as much hands on as you might in the smaller shops (without a good bit of pestering that is).

Performance Archerys new site with more shooting lanes is great! Bob has vast experience shooting and tuning all brands of bows. He runs a tight ship and his staff seems to really enjoy helping new archers as well as hunters, target and 3-D shooters improve their game! His store has bows from wooden long bows and recurve bows to high-tech compound hunting and target models, along with all accessorys you will need to get started or upgrade as you advance your form. Good luck Bob and to your staff. We are so lucky to be served by such professionals.

I bought a beginner compound bow on e-bay, took it to Turners Outdoorsman for tuning. I stopped into Performance Archery for range time, and right away they noticed my peep sight was too low directly affecting why my sight was bottomed out. After a readjustment, and some solid instrcution on form set up, I was on target in the yellow....Bob and his crew are very good at what they do.Thanks to them

Staff were immediately available and definitely didnt judge us for not knowing much. Great recommendations, joked around, and got our arrows cut and fashioned while we shopped for other items quick and easy. Expect to spend a moderate to large amount, but thats the nature of the sport.

Worst customer service. Wont even acknowledge that youre even in the store.

Ive read a couple of somewhat negative reviews about Performance Archery. Despite the fact that I really like this place, I can empathize with the negative perceptions. The employees have a bad tendency to overlook customers. They can also be a bit slow. Ladies, it is stocked with testosterone! The pick-up truck, blue collar crowd is well represented and I can understand why anyone outside of that specific demographic might feel intimidated.However, Performance has good instructors and beautiful equipment. I tend to go shoot during week days so I can avoid most of the manly man crowd. During the week the range is often empty.I have found the employees to be very helpful. I bought my first Olympic recurve bow 3 days ago and love it. The guy who helped me took the time to set the bow up quite well and had me shoot it for several minutes to see if it was to my liking. It was!Their range is clean, well lit, and theyve got a basket full of finger tabs and arm guards a shooter can try out.If you want to make a bow purchase or get some one-on-one assistance I would recommend visiting on a week day. You might need to be patient but in my experience it will be rewarded.Their business model could definitely use some adjustment. Im not sure the owner realizes the people with the money are precisely those intimidated by the testosterone laden atmosphere: Animal trophies hanging on the wall, macho dudes in camo... Appealing to a more white-collar crowd would boost their revenue, I think. Still, though, the place has great equipment, a terrific range, and good employees. They just need to be more conscious of customers.

Came in about a week and a half ago as a newcomer to the realm of archery. Being a firearms guru and having used my friends compound bow made it a winning combo. He referred me to this place and I am so glad I checked it out. Walked in the door and was promptly greeted by an employee named JR and he walked me step by step through the entire process and I never felt like I was being hard sold or undermined for being a beginner. We found a Hoyt Powermax that was just what I was looking for at a decent price and they sized it up and made all the fine tuning required. In the end I got the entire kit for less than $1k out the door and they were even nice enough to toss in four free range days since O am prior military. I cant recommend this place enough. In a day and age of big box stores and Amazon great customer service is an art and these guys went above and beyond and if youre a noob looking to get into the world of archery this is definitely the place to go.

I Have been in and out of performance over a dozen times and each time I leave, I find myself let down with the service. I had bought a drop away rest from them and after the installment i asked to paper tune the bow. The gentleman said no he doesnt have time and dont worry its good to go. Ive been in twice after for a paper tune and have been denied both times with the excuse of they dont have time. It seems like if your not buying a bow from them and just need service you get the back burner. Also Ive been charged to test out the products I buy from them each time at their range on my own because the time for the customer is just not there. Its a nicely set up shop which is unfortunate because some of the employees just dont match up.

Staff was great. Didnt try to up sale me on anything and passed on some great knowledge. Definitely recommend.

I was looking for an Archery Pro Shop in the states to buy a hunting bow and fell on Perfomance Archery. Contacted them via email and took the plane 10000 miles to get there.
