I watched a man fly at Hiller Aviation Museum and Ill never forget it. Hiller Aviation Museum hosted Richard Browning and Gravity Industries and they put on a spectacular event. Luckily, I was able to attend this event because of Boost VC and Ill never forget this moment. Without places like Hiller Aviation Museum, I dont think this would be possible. Thank you for hosting such a great event and thank you Gravity Industries for building this impressive technology.

It’s what you’d expect. Museum with lots of planes, history, and things to see. There are also a few pretty basic, interactive pieces in the museum (simulators for landing a plane/helicopter and can sit inside some plane replicas for some pictures). Cute for kids or probably aviation enthusiasts.

An excellent museum to both get to have a few experiences flying planes and helicopters and to see many examples of aircraft through time. I love the models they have of experimental ideas especially. Theres a kids play area for under 7 that my kids really enjoy. I also appreciate theres some interesting extras like the weather simulator to show how to temperature and humidity effect weather and a mini wind tunnel where you can experiment with different parachutes for toys to see which are the most effective. I find myself learning new things every time we visit.

We saw the museum as we drove by on the highway and went there the next day. This is a nice museum with very good displays. Some are the actual aircraft, while others are reproductions. There was a great display of Boeings first drone, it was huge. They had a number dealing with the beginning of aviation, and pioneers from the San Francisco area. They have a number of hands on events, and demonstrations and many are great for children. You can easily spend a couple of hours learning things you probably didnt know before.Check it out.

First time to Hiller Aviation Museum was wonderful! There was great information on its planes, helpful staff and volunteers to answer any questions or add informative facts and interactive simulations. I loved that there were displays and cross sections for illustration purposes, but also great additions like the restoration and interactive lab areas. Plus its right next to an active landing strip! I would definitely go again during an event and recommend to a friend!

This is quite a nice museum. The building is quite unassuming so you do not know what to expect. When we came in shortly after the museum opened, there was a docent that took us around and told us the history of aviation in general and specifically in the Bay area. I was quite impressed at the variety of displays and the signage is done well. I was with two other people and we quite enjoyed ourselves. We came on a Wednesday which happens to be a day that food trucks are in the parking lot. We had lunch and resumed our viewing in the museum. The museum can have a large number of kids that are brought to the museum via school buses. On the day we were there, the children left at lunch time so we pretty much had the museum to ourselves and a few others after lunch. The three of us sat in a 747 cockpit from one of the earlier models. We quite enjoyed studying every gauge, every switch, and every instrument in the cockpit. It took over an hour for the three of us to become satisfied that we had an excellent understanding of what was going on with regard to all of the controls of the pilots and the flight engineer. If you are into aviation, I think its easy to spend four or five hours here. If you are not a real aviation fan, then I would say an hour or two might be enough. Another thing thats going on with Hillary aviation is that on the weekends they have quite a number of activities that are oriented around youth. I have a really good feeling that this museum understands how it can contribute to the community. I give high marks to the management team of the museum.

A solid museum. Contains a surprisingly wide variety of artifacts/displays. Was nice to learn about Hiller, of whom I did not know very much despite being a very low level aviation enthusiast. I had seen some of his designs though so was nice to learn more about their history. Overally, a good way to spend approximately 60-90 minutes although at $18/adult that comes at a price.

Many displays detailing local aviation history!Great small-ish sized museum filled with many displays and placards of detailed information. There was a children play area and slightly older kids area about Morse code. Also flight sims section in the mezzanine (tickets needed).I didnt read through all the displays due to time. Many mention local areas (Tanforan, Oakland, Palo Alto, SFO, Lockheed Martin, Northrup, amongst others) as well as more well-known areas of historical significance. There was a small section regarding Hiller and his contribution of helicopters to the world. It was quite interesting to learn about the Lockheed brothers, their association with Northrup, and (separately) the Jacuzzi family. There was a small outdoors area with benches for snacks or lunch. A hotdog stand also.Adorably painted hopscotch grids (in the shape of a plane) on the ground along the way to view the airfield.Entertaining way to spend a few hours on Saturday!(Smithsonian Museum Day 2019)

Great museum, with rich local history displayed everywhere you look. They have an abundance of helicopters, but with plenty of airplanes for plane enthusiasts. If you like simulators, they have an old beat-up helicopter sim that actually moves parts on the actual helicopter, a Boeing 777 sim that teaches you how to land at the SFO airport, and a Wright flyer simulator. They have a drone cage, an FMX simulator that reacts to the controls, and a set of simulators that you have to pay for, and reserve ahead of time if you want a more in-depth aviation experience. Outside, they have the front section of an old Boeing 707 that you can step inside, and you can even go up the stairs to the second floor, and sit in the pilots seat. If you dont want to commit to a huge museum, but want to learn about the history of aircraft, this is the place to go. And completely worth the trip if you get a pass.

A good place to go if you or your young ones are into aviation history. There were many old planes, helicopters, and other flying contraptions on display. The day I went was actually for a model train event which was a nice addition to the airplanes around. Overall, the museum was smaller than expected. Not as many interactive items as other museums.
