We had our wedding here in November, to say I was impressed was an understatement! We had to change plans last minute to make up for our other venue not having all the amenities we needed. Bo put our entire wedding together in 2 WEEKS! He went above and beyond what any normal wedding organizer would do for anyone! He took a bad venue situation and made it into something that nobody else could with his venue! The entire process was so easy and he always made sure to answer and questions and concerns I had! Bobby was absolutely amazing the day of the wedding helping with everything that needed to be done and keeping up updated and stress-free! We absolutely cannot thank these 2 men enough for making our big day memorable and unforgettable! The venue itself was GORGEOUS, I can’t stop looking at how amazing the scenery was and perfect ceremony and reception space. I could talk on and on about this amazing place! BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE!! You won’t be disappointed!

During the quarantine, the wife and I decided to take up golf. Since then we have been to The Golf Club of Texas many times. As follows will be the usual unbiased review of our experience there. The location is very easy to find, even our first trip out we did not miss the turn off of 211. The parking lot is of good size with a few disabled spots. The biggest issue with the parking lot is the very limited shaded parking, other than that, it is well maintained. The club house is both the pro shop and a restaurant and bar area. It is very nice and well kept, both inside and out. We have not tried the restaurant but others have said that the burgers are very good. We will edit our review if we do eat there at some point. The pro shop has all the basics you could need for a game and a few extras. The staff here is absolutely amazing. They have always been friendly and helpful with any questions we have. The pro shop crew is top notch at all times and the main reason my wife and I decided to become members. After only a few visits they were welcoming us by name, that says a lot about the staff here. The manager can usually be seen around the shop also and will always say hello and make sure we have everything we need. The cart personnel also are very friendly and keep the carts charged and clean. They are taking the extra steps to sanitize them as well. The player assistants also are very friendly and helpful and keep things running smoothly. The grounds crew is very helpful also, on the course, and have answered a question or two that we had while playing. They are also respectful of driving and shots in general. The crew here is part of a wonderful experience. There is a full practice area at the course. The practice range is very reasonably priced for buckets. The practice range does not seem to have distance markers though. There are poles out on the range but no indication of their distance from the boxes. It would be nice to see something like that added. The practice green and the pitching green are as well kept as the course greens, which is great. The course is very well kept and maintained. The grounds crew does a great job to keep everything playable and looking great. Being new to golf, I do not know how challenging the course is overall but the wife and I have a lot of fun and feel challenged here. Talking to some more experienced golfers, they say it can be challenging. There are some shots over water and enough bunkers to keep things interesting.I did give The Golf club of Texas five stars but would have only awarded them 4.5 if able to do so. There are some issues that would cost them the half star. First, very little shaded parking. A few hours in the full sun of a Texas summer after a few hours on the course in the same heat is not good. Second, while they do have a beverage cart I have only seen it out on the course twice. There have been times when I could use a cold drink while out there and had no recourse but to take the time between the 9th and 10th to go to the club house. Third, we have not been able to find any type of distance reference on the practice range. They do have poles but no indication of the distance to them. Even with these small issues, and they are small, my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing and practicing at the course. The staff alone makes the experience so much better.EDIT** Since this review was originally posted, there has been a sign on the range for distance to the various poles. I really do appreciate the course for placing this out there as it does help with practice.

As of this post I have been to Golf Club of Texas, SA three visits. It was recommended by my friends who are very avid golfers. Every thing they told me was true about the Club. Very friendly and respectful staff, good food and clean environment in and outdoors. Course is set up nicely and well kept. Practice range and green are great, and the carts are well cleaned and maintained. Prices are some of the best in town. Keep up the great work, because I will be making many more visits and recommendations.

I used to tell people that The Golf Club of Texas is a great high quality course except for its bunkers. I can no longer say that. They put REAL sand in the bunkers and now the entire course is playing GREAT. Great job GCoT! [Fellow Patrons, please fix your divots]

Greens are perfect, and many are large greens. They’re in the middle of fixing many of the bunkers (they were working on them today). Please add some yardage markers on the tee boxes and fairways. There were none on the tee boxes and only 150 markers on the fairway which made it hard to figure out your yardage. Value for price is hard to beat in SA, I paid $25 today and teed off at 3:00. There’s a very interesting mix of grasses around the greens which made chip shots challenging. Definitely work checking out for the price. Restaurant was not open as of now.

The course has a lot of potential and has a unique and challenging layout with a variety of hole layouts. The problem is the maintenance just isnt there. The greens are extremely bumpy/uneven do not roll true. You couldnt hit the same putt twice because of the extreme bumpiness it throws the ball in all different directions. The sand pits are hard and unmaintained, and like other golfers have said no drinking water on the course.I used to play the course fairly often and read a response from the owner about a year ago they were going to aerify/restore the greens. I decided to give the place another try, but nothing has been done to the greens. It honestly seems like they do no do aerification or regular maintenance like rolling of the greens...The lack of maintenance is concerning about the long term viability of the place. There is no way to justify the rack rate.I hope they throw some money into maintenance because the course could be a great place if that aspect was improved.

I really enjoy this course a lot so I try and play at lest twice a month but my only critique is they need to put sand a lot more of it in the sand traps. Most of them are extremely hard almost like they are full of small pebbles. A few weeks ago the last few holes seemed like they added sand or at least that’s what a gentle I played with also thought but the front nine trough 14 were pretty hard. Besides that great place to goldf at a great price!

The golf course is a 3 and the restaurant is a 1, so my overall rating is 2 stars. The staff at the restaurant seems to mostly spend time chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the customers. If you sit outside you will be forgotten once you have ordered, that is if you are lucky enough to be served at all. When you need to order or you need a refill, you will have to walk inside and find your server. The server wont be hard to find though, as they will inevitable be a the bar gossiping with their coworkers. Also, be careful when you pull off of 211 and drive towards the clubhouse. You may need 4x4 because of all of the potholes in the road.

I ordered this with a coworker and it was pretty good and the fries were also very good. My opinion, this place isnt what it used to be. We went the other day, food was terrible, sweet potato fries were under cooked (they took it off the check), bar was dirty, glasses were dirty, and overall it just wasnt the same. We used to go every now and again in late 2017, early 2018 and it was good but ever since they lost their food and beverage manager, it isnt the same.Update 16 June 2019:Friend and I came in, we both ordered burgers that took over 20 minutes to come out. The fries were fried until they looked like twigs and tasted as if they were fried in 3 day old oil. Beer was good, Chloe and Mackenzie were our bartenders, they were amazing!! Friendly, smiling faces, and happy to be doing their jobs, customer service was top notch. They had NO WINGS, period. How do you run out of food? I know how, you under order to save money. This place could be the best thing since sliced bread considering the fact that there aren’t very many places to eat in this area. The bar is probably the best part about this place, other than that, it’s honestly a waste. Pay a REAL chef to come in and revamp your menu and wait for the word to spread! The manager is literally getting a paycheck, that’s it. True leadership would change the bottom line when it comes to income!

We chose the Golf Club of Texas as our venue (including catering and bartending services) for our wedding which took place in October of 2019. They were referred by a family member who had utilized their services for a family reunion earlier in the year. Overall, we had a great event and the wedding day went off without a hitch, but we did have a few unpleasant instances which occurred throughout the wedding planning process. The Golf Club of Texas has many perks if you are interested in using this as a venue for your event. Some of the pros include a decent-sized venue that can fit 60-100 people comfortably, including outside seating. We reviewed many venues on pricing alone, as we had a strict budget, and The Golf Club of Texas’ prices were unheard of! They have a flexible floor plan and the event staff allows you to customize most of the given space without hassle. This also can be extended to any vendors you may book for the event, so you have free reign on a good majority of vendors you may pick from. Not to mention, of course the photo ops are amazing with the golf course view spanning out over a nice clear area. With our main priorities being flexibility for decor (as we DIYed everything) and pricing, GCOT definitely fit our needs. With that said, we encountered a few issues along the way that we wanted to mention. At times, the venue staff is often either unresponsive or shifty with commitments, meaning you have to check in with them frequently to make sure everything is set correctly for the event (highly recommend getting promises in contract or writing so you have a paper trail). There was a bit of turnover for their staffing which meant that some promises which were delivered by phone or via chatting in-person, we had to go back and forth to get delivery on because those promises did not abide by the normal proceedings of the venue. They also seemed a bit greedy about asking for payment when convenient for them (We never received a contract with payment dates; we only received an invoice stating the full payment was due 10 days prior to the event. This made us unsure when everything was due). Doing business with them seemed a bit impersonal. It is already understood that this is a business transaction, but it is also one of the most important days of our lives, so providing a personal touch would definitely be appreciated. This is especially apparent when we had asked multiple times for confirmation on event particulars or logistics and have yet to get a timely answer, but they make sure to ask for payment.A piece of advice would be that if you are planning to have your event here, make sure they are not planning any other events in the same timeframe or place. We almost stepped away from the venue a couple of months before the ceremony date, because they double-booked an event, despite us having reserved almost a year prior. Overall, we had a great event, but we had a wedding coordinator do the majority of the work with finalizing the details with the venue. If you will not have an event coordinator, just be sure to ask many questions and get everything in writing. We probably wouldn’t utilize their services again, but their pricing is 100% unbeatable!

Do not plan your event at this place. Worst food and service I have ever had. Planned my baby shower for 80 people. Went to three different food tastings. Planned months in advanced. Also met with coordinator day before and morning of and still so many things went wrong. We paid our full balance the day before our event. My Baby shower started at 4pm requested food to be ready at 4pm. Wasnt ready and out till 4:45. The food was served completely cold. Burners were not on to keep food warm. Tortillas were served right out of the package. Tasted raw. Chicken and beef fajitas had zero seasoning on the meat. Looked boiled. Rice was hard because everything was cold. They had two teenagers serving my guest that did not how to serve. One of my guest received literally 10 beans on their plate. They also said they made the rice. So there was no point to do the tastings. Never saw the chef. Had to tell the servers to replenish the lemonade and tea. Literately, they left two teenage servers to run the event on their own. I requested chips and salsa to be on the tables for guest before food. I had to ask for it and chips and salsa came out after everyone was done with the food. I also paid for 12 champagne bottles for a mimosa bar. I had to ask the servers 5 times to bring it out. Finally, he admitted he was waiting on a text from the coordinator to give him permission to give me the champagne I had already paid for. After the champagne came out then I had to ask for the orange juice a few times. It was like pulling teeth anytime we needed anything. As my event was beginning the bar manager told me she was closing the bar at 7pm because she was never told about my event. She showed me my event on her paper work and thought I would be here at 12. Told me sorry probably a miscommunication. There was absolutely no one there to see everything through. Which is the whole reason why people have events and pay the 20% service fee. So you dont have to stress out on your special day. I asked do i need to bring cake plates. They told me no. They ran out and started using black paper plates for my all white and pink baby shower. At that point I was just happy they had something. Again, that is why I asked in advance.I brought up everything that went wrong to the Coordinator and to the Food and Service Director. They agreed that my event went wrong and wanted to compensate me with more food. Is that my main complaint to begin with? I nicely declined and requested some money back or credit to the course or anything else. No response from management. Save your money go somewhere else.

First I have to say the Golf club of Texas is a beautiful place . My husband and I came across this venue back in 2018 on Facebook. We were in the market for a wedding venue and we had a rustic theme in mind . We felt this place looked perfect, so we called and made an appointment. That is when we met Bo, who is an awesome guy by the way ! and he made our experience even better, and this was just for us looking at the venue . As soon as we walked around we knew this was exactly what we wanted ! Bo made sure to emphasize that we take a day or two to really think about our decision as he wanted us to be sure the golf club was for us, but we were sold . Shortly after booking I found out I was pregnant and we thought it was best to cancel as having a baby would definitely have to push the wedding or forget it all together. But lucky for us Bo suggested we just change the date if possible and the deposit would hold the new date . So after carful thought we changed to October 19, 2019. We had kept in touch for the remainder of 2018 and 2019 until the venue was paid off and the overall experience of that was great . Bo also suggested an awesome DJ and Photographer that we ended up using . DJ Vega’s and Ardore Photography. Awesome awesome people . When the day finally arrived everything was perfect !! The reception area was clean and the tables and decorations looked great ! We paid for the wedding ourselves, and didn’t have much to work with as far as decorations, but the staff was kind enough to let us use some of the decorations left from the event the night before which fit perfect with our theme ! The meal we picked for that night was the bbq plate and that too was great . My guests were very pleased with the meal as well as the attentiveness of the staff . I’d have to say the best thing about that night other than the obvious wedding ceremony, family, and friends, was the staff . The bartenders that night were thee best! Unfortunately I didn’t ask for all of their names but the one name I was able to get was Jasmine, I hope that’s correct lol when I asked her what her name was I was standing right near the DJ. Jasmine was AMAZING!!!! She was very attentive, picked up plates and constantly made sure everything was good . I was feeling a little down because most of the guests I invited didn’t show up so I felt it was boring and a little dead, Jasmine totally turned that around for me ! She made conversation with me, made me laugh, and even interacted with my kids and that to me was the icing on the cake with my experience at the golf club of Texas . I will never forget that night . Jasmine also took the time to make me hot tea and honey because my voice had gone out lol . I cannot express how impressed and thankful I am to the Bo, Bobby, and the ladies, oh and there was a young man who was helping out that night too! He was also very sweet and attentive! I’m not sure about other people’s experience but for me it was great . All I really care about in the end is the quality of the people who made my night unforgettable, so thank you to everyone.

I love the course and go there as often as I can despite living an hours drive away. Was very disappointed today. I checked their website yesterday evening to ensure there would be openings in the late morning or early afternoon and it appeared to be wide open. However when I got there, the fellow at the desk said it would be an hour and a half before I could start, despite there being no one on the range or putting green. I can only assume there was some sort of event going on that would not wrap up for another hour or so. Had I known that, I would not have made the drive. Not sure why their tee reservation system showed them wide open yesterday, but this experience makes it less likely I will pop out there in the future.Follow up: Had not played here in the last few months but went out yesterday and had an enjoyable round. The grass is mostly dormant, but is very playable. The staff is friendly, and the course was not busy on a beautiful afternoon.UPDATE: Out again last week and the course is still top notch. Great fairways, tee boxes and greens, and more and more bunkers have been renovated. Definitely living up to the hype surrounding its recent publicity. It is a wonderful course, worth the trip.

Took a lesson with Sean this morning. Was very professional and an informative lesson. Will be going back for another. Havent played a lick of golf in over a year and he got me back to where i needed to be. Thanks!

This course is amazing! Hot or cold their Zoya grass is by far the best. It is beautiful, and forgiving unless you hit off the fairway. Good luck finding your ball in the Texas brush & Watch out for cactus and thorns if you go looking. Very well maintained.

Love the atmosphere and specials. Two for one special on the burgers ROCKS. Events are always great! Try the Scotch Eggs!

Get your act together! Burger night and no buns? Comes out on Texas toast that is still frozen in center. And still no Stella on draft . What next?? YES I DID PAY FOR THE BURGERS AND MY ENTIRE BILL! BO, CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!

Played there today and would call it ok. This is the first time I played since they reopened. The $40 green fee was reasonable. More than that would be overpriced. The nines have been switched but no other changes to the layout. The new grass has potential but needs to mature a bit. Most of the tee boxes were quite rough with a lot of sand. Fairways were nice but a number of greens had bare spots. The rough and natural areas need some work. A lot of weeds in those areas. Cleaning that up would make the experience more enjoyable and visibly pleasing. All in all I hope the current management can keep moving the course in the right direction. This is a fun layout and can be great once the conditions improve.

Played this course for the first time yesterday. The grass was incredible! The ball always sits up with a perfect lie and makes ball-striking much easier. The carts are equipped with GPS and a digital scorecard to add to the experience. Food was great after the round, and the bartenders were friendly. Almost forgot... The green fee with cart was only about $30! Highly recommend this place.
