This was my first experience in an escape room. I was impressed by the puzzles and teamwork it took to Escape. I took part in this as a work team building event and would recommend for others looking for the same or any group of family or friends that is into puzzles. They have a few different escape rooms with different themes and are working on a new one which can be more suitable for small kids. Im excited to go back and try the others! The time seemed to fly by so fast as we worked together against the clock but it was very exciting to challenge ourselves individually and as a team. Lockem Up is located in the back corner of the larger University Bowl bowling alley. Theres also games (think D&Bs), a kitchen with excellent food, and a separate bar area to gather yourself after being trapped in a basement ;)

Did the safe house first time ever with my wife,cousin and my mom didnt know it was a level 8 out of 10 but we made it out with 17 and a half minutes to spare it was awsome!!!

Absolutely loved Lock’em Up! My friend and I had a blast! We were just looking for something fun to do and found Lock’em Up! We chose Agent Harper as our escape mission. Our game got pushed back 30 minutes which was perfectly fine. We had fun playing the arcade games during our wait. When it came time to escape we put our game faces on and went to work. I will say this room made us go crazy but in a good way. The math was fun and the geography was a perfect add on to the game. We escaped! Did not have many brain cells left but we did it! Cannot wait to go back!

We had so much fun doing the Castle Quest escape room! All of the puzzles were fun and well made and everything made sense. Even the props that we didnt use to solve anything were on theme and looked great.This is definitely a place I want to return to so I can try their other rooms!

Super fun for us of multiple ages (50yr-84yrs) challenging, think out of the box puzzles but not impossible. Great staff (Andrea(?)) Her enthusiasm for our experience was contagious, thank you for a great different kind of family entertainment!

We had such a great time! Excellent, friendly staff. Great rooms options to get locked into. The rooms do change, so reason to definitely go back. It was challenging and fun. Nothing to get scared of, thankfully. Great way to see how people can work together or not. Well be back!

This room had some of the most interesting, smart and engaging puzzles that I have ever seen in an escape room. Extremely well thought out and executed.

This was our first experience with escape rooms!!! We had a couple in their 40s, a millennial couple (mid 20s), and 2 teens (14,17) Every single one of us had such great fun!!! It was smart puzzles, not dumb too simple riddles or puzzles, that could be figured out too quickly... You really had to think about it and work together! It really brings the family together! And what I really liked about this place its not gore and death! It’s smart plots and backstory, awesome puzzles, tons of fun while not traumatizing. (I’m just a person to add that to my anxiety) The game masters, I think that’s what they are called... are so great and are clearly attentive of the game to when we needed a hint. (I’ve heard some escape places you just wanna escape from the customer service) Overall experience? AWESOME! WILL COME AGAIN!

My husband & I had family in town, so we decided to stop in and do an escape room. We opted for Safe House. The room was fun and way more challenging than expected, even for 4 hardened escape room veterans!Just a heads up for those with accessibility issues, the building this place is located in is a headache to navigate if youre in a hurry. My husband is in a wheelchair, and it turns out the accessible entrance is at the back of the building (found that out the hard way). After you go inside you have to push through the bar area, then in front of the people playing darts to get to the ramp leading to the escape room. By the time we figured out where to go we were about 20 mins late, but the owner was extremely nice and accommodating.Well definitely be back in the future to try out some more rooms!

Really fun experience! The rooms and puzzles were well crafted, imaginative, and very thoughtful. Great for families and large groups. The staff was inviting and super friendly, and are doing a great job running small yet well executed escape rooms. 5 Stars!

We had lots of fun. The clues are tricky and well thought out. The room was nicely decorated and created the perfect atmosphere. Definitely will be going back.

My husband and I (also our three year old) went late at night and got lucky and had a room to ourselves. We totally failed but it was a lot of fun! We plan to come back and do a different room when we vacation again. Hopefully they get the ufo room done soon. We did the castle room. Our three year old had tons of fun even though she had no idea what was going on and didn’t help and was a distraction. But it was a really nice family thing and we have agreed that because of how great this first experience was that everywhere we vacation we will be looking for escape rooms Thanks you guys.Also, all the people who worked there were incredibly friendly.The puzzles were various difficulty and types. My husband is very mathematical and I’m very artsy and when we couldn’t figure something out it came in handy that we were different.You can go in big parties or just a few. You can reserve it for private or go during a time slot that others may have signed up for. We chose the castle room and if we did it at 9pm, there was already two other ppl, so we chose an empty 11pm block and got lucky-nobody else signed up so we got the room to ourselves.

My husband and I did the Medieval room and LOVED it! We were paired with 2 other people and had a lot of fun working together. The clues fit together in an interesting way and there was a great twist 3/4 of the way through that we did not expect. They even gave us a few extra minutes at the end so we could finish. Super fun and highly recommend before or after bowling at University Bowl.

We did the quest and had a great time! The clues were fun and creative and we were able to escape. I loved how they gave the option to reserve the entire room for your group. 5 people was perfect for the quest room.

Quite a great place to go and just have some fun! Went as four people, did the Quest for the Throne and Basement one and it was a really great time and lots of fun. Challenge yourself! Don’t ask for too many clues, and just have fun looking for what may or may not be a clue! Definitely recommended :)

They have really fun and immersive rooms, i had an amazing time and the employees are awesome. All around a great time.

We have done 3 of the current rooms there (Quest for the Throne, Safe House, and Agent Harper). Each had a very different plot with challenging puzzles. The customer service is great too! The team there is very friendly and attentive.

Great escape room. We have done many as a family and I think this was the best so far. Lots of interactive objects and the clues actually made sense. we would def do another with this company.

My family and I had an amazing time at this escape room. Puzzles were challenging enough to keep us on our toes but still allowed young kids to participate in solving. It was fun to work together and think outside the box.

I had a amazing time with my family doing the Lockem up Escape Room. My children, husband and I are always looking to do something fun as a family and we found it... It was so much fun working together using our knowledge and wit to solve the puzzle. I would highly recommend it. Definitely going to go again. If your a parent and you want to do something different than the standard amusement park or theater etc this is a great way to spend time and bond with your kids. You get see how smart and clever they really are. Loved it

Our first time doing an escape room. This was such a fun experience for our entire family. We had nine in our group (6, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 4 adults). The younger ones helped solve a lot of the puzzles. The staff were kind and helpful. Fun decor and theme. I highly recommend this experience for groups and families.

This was the first escape room I’ve ever done and I’m addicted now! It was super fun and well made. The whole set up was awesome and makes you think. We did the Safe House room and I definitely recommend it! Try this place out.

This was by far the best Escape experience we have had. The puzzles were great and there were a LOT of them! The room was large and all the props were in excellent shape (not all of them are!). The man working there was also super nice and helpful.

My 13 year old daughter and her friends did this for her birthday. They had a great time, and the room was so creative with theme and all the different puzzles. We did make it out, but needed a lot of help!! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend. Great location and super fun!

I took 3 ten year olds and myself and we had a blast! The puzzles were challenging but not too hard and the kids loved it! The customer service was top notch! I highly recommend this place and will be going back again!!!

This place is amazing! I was hesitant to even go with our group at first, but I am so happy I did! The staff is wonderful and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time before, during and even after our experience! Had the chance to go with some friends to an Escape Room this past weekend and it was so fun! Gotta try the other rooms as well, super well organized and detailed, and the suspense is there! Staff are the sweetest and most patient! Will come back for sure!!

The crew working was super sweet. We did the Throne room for my 10 year olds birthday and it was challenging enough for 2 adults and 4 ten year olds.

Definitely more of a riddle room than an escape room, but still overall fun.

Our group of 10 were all family members and all 10 of us rate this experience with 5 stars. There was a nice surprise in the middle of the game and everyone thought that they contributed to the win. There were some things that were tricky and we did use all 4 clues but we got out with 6+ minutes to spare! We would recommend.

Did all three in one day and all had good challenges and themes in all of them. I had a good time and I definitely recommend doing all of them.

Man!! I love puzzles and Riddles and this place gave me the satisfaction to live it! If you love brain teasers and the thrill, this is the place to go! There’s nothing like sound effects and intense settings.

This escape room is awesome!!! Had a blast with family. Its challenging but fun!! Would recommend it to anybody looking for something new to do in San Antonio. Definitely coming back to attempt the other rooms.

Went with my boyfriend and we had so much fun! We started off separated but could work together from our separate rooms to get to a joint room. It was pretty difficult and we had to use a few clues but it was a lot of fun. Will definitely recommend to people and go back to try a different scenario too

SOLVED! With eight seconds to spare ;-) Our family had a blast in the Quest for the Throne game. Lots of fun puzzles, even for a nine and twelve yr old. Definitely would recommend!

Fun place. I was expecting it to be kind of corny due to its location in University Bowl but overall a well designed escape room! We did the Birth right game and it was a hoot. We escaped with only a minute or so to spare. (Escape Room enthusiast family, 3 adults and one 10 year old boy.)To the owner: Hahahahaha, I wish I was witty enough to have meant that as a bowling joke! In all seriousness, we cant wait to come back and try the other room, just trying to get a larger group together first :)

Our group had so much fun doing the castle escape! It had the right balance of hard and simple puzzles, and just the right amount of stress about not finishing! There was a huge surprise we weren’t expecting that really elevated the level of the room, and was a complete game changer! So so so much fun!

There is a reason everyone is giving it 5 stars! We have done other rooms at other businesses, but never one as well thought out as this one. We are already planning a return trip for another birthday celebration!

Ive done a number of escape rooms (with friends and coworkers) and this one blows them all away! Its difficult but fun. Surprising and challenging. The folks that run it are awesome and they clearly get the experience that people want when booking these types of events. Go to THIS ONE! Do it.

Great non linear rooms, enthusiastic staff, one of the cheaper escape rooms Ive played and overall a great time for anyone ready for a challenge. If youre in the area and have some time, Id recommend them in a heartbeat!

It is smaller, having only 2 rooms. We did both in the same night. They were both a barrel of fun. I would reccomend!
