Found this little local coffee shop hidden as part of an apartment building, a little difficult to find, but definitely worth the effort. I appreciate the efforts they are making to taking temps & contact trace. The shop is peaceful & welcoming, the staff is super friendly as I expect at any coffee shop I go to. Price is about the same as most coffee shops, but the atmosphere (& it being a local business) would make it worth going even if they charged more.
Such a fun place and awesome coffee and biscuits. Super nice owner. Will come back again
Stopped in on a Monday I think. Looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. The place has a great feel to it.
Fabulous atmosphere, great photo ops with scary halloween characters! I love the coffee and food! Baristas are great at recommending just the right drink for me
Such a cute little place to pick a bite to eat. Lots to see. Fun paintings around. Friendly atmosphere.
Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The service here is attentive. Prices were fair.
Absolutely love this place. Beyond having good food and drinks the decor and spirit (for lack of a better word) are inviting, eccentric, and vibrant. Its a really great feeling to be able to support a local business that supports its community. There are open mic nights every Wednesday. Meet ups for tango on Sundays and lots of other community events through out the week. Local artists have their pieces on display and for sale. Thanks for bringing our community a clean and inviting space. Oh also if I didnt make it clear, the drinks and food are amazing. The staff is warm and friendly.
The staff was friendly and sociable. the place has a great atmosphere. feels similar to a restaurant in new york i liked.
Big part of the community, great environment and love the art that proudly represents my culture.
Great coffee shop, very and cozy with a little art gallery to look around in while you wait. My only knock is all their pastries come from Costco, so just something to be mindful of.
Ive had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. the place has a good feel to it. mood here reminds me of san diegos scene.
After the shows and the limelight heres a nice place chat over a smooth cup of Java. We hate that this place is temporarily closed the coffee is absolutely delicious,
So glad they have finally opened back up! Coffee and breakfast sandwich we had were both so good!
I love it here. the service was sociable and attentive.
This place is a really good hangout and has excellent service, its awesome to study in and is very relaxing to go to after a long day. Cups of coffee are delicious and pastries and meals are exquisite. Fun events on a calendar inside varying from open mics to meditation meet-ups
I judge coffee shops by atmosphere and their ability to make a normal drip cup. The atmosphere is so interesting and artsy. Its a good place for groups! However a normal drip cup isnt the best and honestly tasted a bit sour. Other than that they have other good drinks.
Would have loved to stop by but it’s currently closed bc of COVID. So make sure you call before!!
This business has yet to update for its customers that it is closed. Dont even bother venturing out to this coffee place. Its either been abandoned, or the owners dont care to update that it is closed!!!
Awesome place to chill with friends and hang out for a little bit. Maybe get some school work done. The barista was also pretty cool. They have an art exhibit and the drinks are good too.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to chill and looking to sip on something hot.
Mestizo coffee is the best coffee anywhere in the area! The staff are all awesome and kind. Its a great environment too! They have interesting art, and a cool lounge-type feel, and their drinks are the best! I recommend the Dirty Monkey! its a mocha latte, with banana flavor. :)
Great place for tha best coffee and smoothies and sandwiches check it out you will love it.tha owners and tha employees are helpful at what ever you need.i will have to get back to them soon.o their hot chocolate it’s great also.try it you will love it.it will reopen July 1/20/20 .
Chill place with a lot of cool spots to hang out. We liked their large table in the back to work on a group project for school. Their coffee was delicious and I will definitely be back!
Always warm and inviting. Great place to check out local art, and related events. Love their spiced / spicy hot chocolate!
Cute little coffee house that gave me the true Salt Lake City hipster vibe, and even had an open Mike night. This coffee venue was very quiet, and had plenty of places to chill or study with friends, or even as a solo outing. I ordered the Dirty Monkey (mocha with banana) and a BLT on croissant; they were both delicious!
It is a very cozy coffee House in a quaint part of town. Service was good. Its a hipster environment with good music playing in the background lots of art on the walls and unique sitting. I only gave it four stars because the lunch selection is not very extensive.
Went here thirsty for water and was turned away. Bad vibes for a place pretending to be spiritual and woke. Water is life and a human right, do not support.
Low-key coffee shop. Just what I look for in a place to grab a cup of coffee. Love the murals on the walls and the eclectic furniture in the seating area.
The coffee is amazing. The young lady working was soooo sweet, I accidentally dumped my coffee on one of the tables and she was very kind about it. 100/100 love this place
The environment is amazing and chill, the baristas are friendly there are things here you can buys that look super cool and I’m about to try their blended Mexican mocha I’m super pumped for this, they are against the homeless one of the people here said and won’t let them have water, they do serve food here at this location including breakfast and lunch, the parking for here isn’t too bad it’s in a strange location at the apartment or condo complex but it makes for a super interesting environment. I did see a mouse which was not fun to see (After trying the Mexican mocha ) : The mocha taste super great, has chunks and is super dark which is great for a blend
Great coffee, great service.
Just stepped off the plane in Salt Lake City, looking for a place to kill some time until my meetings began. Googled coffee house and Mestizo came up. After doing a little research, I seen I can take the train straight from the airport. I walked in to an amazing environment, art on the walls, great music playing in the background. Order some coffee and a sandwich was I was pleasantly surprised. IT WAS DELICIOUS. This place is 5 stars, I recommend!
Prices here are pretty outrageous the owner/manager will stand outside and watch to see where you park. He loves towing people. He gets a kick down from towing company everytime. I guess that makes up for people not wanting to spend their hard earned dollars on a high priced coffee that isnt very well made. Last I went my coffee was not hot and tastes like milk.. just milk! I wont go again. 711 is a much better option.
Love everything about this place. They had a Day of the Dead later and an art exhibit of a table of the dead. Very cool. Had their Mexican Mocha. Yum!
Its worth checking out. Good coffee, an art display, nice atmosphere.
The food and beverages here taste great. The art work displayed is amazing.
This place has a lovely artsy atmosphere. The windows provide very warm lighting and theres plenty of space to sit and enjoy yourself, from couches to tables to a piano in an offshoot room. The staff was wonderfully friendly too! Even gave us some recommendations on what to see in the city.
Great place to have some great coffee and relax with a friend or work on a project. I will definitely come back.
Best vibes and atmosphere, perfect little place. Really good coffee too, try the red espresso
Owner was a very rude man. When I was there he told a woman also a customer to move her vehicle from in front of his store because he said he needed to unload his suvThere is only 4 parking spotsParking is a nightmareFood is less then desirableI was there about 20 minutesWhen I left I glanced into his suv there was nothing to be unloaded
The owner is disgracefully rude.
I love this place. Great people and great coffee with lots of personality.
Very eclectic and inviting ambience and friendly service. Decent (not spectacular) coffee. The veggie sandwich was not good at all. Not only did I get a heel bread slice, but the fixings were just mediocre. I couldnt finish it. For the price, Id hoped for a lot better.
Delicious beverages and cafe treats. Singular ambiance that blends the ancient and modern themes of mexican culture.
Been going to mestizo for years now. Awesome coffee! Wonderful staff and owner.Wouldnt go anywhere else!
Really eclectic vibe here at this coffee shop. Plenty of room to sit and hang out with friends from small tables to couches. Its definitely worth a visit, the staff is friendly and coffee selection is awesome!
My wife and came to salt lake City staying at the Hyatt hotel we were meeting my brother who lives in the apartments that mestizo is located my wife stepped into the little store also located there I sat down to wait for the party. Within seconds a rude employee come out and berated threatening to call the police get out he said I was not aloud to wait for the rest of my party this has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They indeed need work on their customer relations.
Coffee is ok. Seating is mixed on comfort if you want to sit for a while.
Recommend Nachos to me said they would be so yummy! That is a lie these Nachos are the most disgusting Nachos I had ever had
Ive been coming here for a few years and I have generally enjoyed the experience of it.The food is delicious and the drinks are excellent. The atmosphere is inviting and I love the new expansion of the cafe. The only complaint I have is with the staff. I havent been here in a while and the last time I was here, there were friendly people behind the counter. The girl at the counter now has zero personality, always has her headphones on and is curt and abrupt. She has no customer service or interpersonal skills whatsoever. Talk to her and its like youre bugging her. I think until they replace her Ill go somewhere else. This place does not deserve such crappy personalities working within its colorful and happy interiors.
Nice looking little place. I only ordered a scone and ate outside but the staff were quick and pleasant and the scone was good. I would go back again for sure when Im in the area.
Red Hot White’s are amazing! Love this place and the atmosphere! So perfect to just hang out or do some work and admire the beautiful art. Such few places like this in Utah. Makes me feel like I’m in a different state.
Great service! Large Americano hot and delicious!
What a cozy coffee house! Snuggling up on the pillow back sofa, while drinking a hot Ruby Mocha, to visit with a friend, was top rate! Highly Recommend!:) ♡
Fun place to open Mike on wed. Tasty coffee!
Cozy and very nice staff. Sometimes a little slow but great pots of tea.
I like Mestizos a lot! Wish they had cold brew *concentrate* that I could buy at a premium so i can dilute it myself, but per the owner, they receive their cold brew pre diluted. However, its all good! Ill still be back when Im too lazy to make my own cold brew, or its too hot to fire up the kettle and do a pour over at home.
Eclectic atmosphere. Lots of seating .great community involvement. Loved the pistachio frappe!
Super awesome coffee shop! We held a bible study inside and it provided a calm, relaxing environment. I recommend the iced caramel macchiato!
I will never go back there again. I have never been treated with as much disrespect as if I was garbage in my life at any restaurant or coffee shop. I buy a pastry and sit down and one of the tables. And I pull out my pins and a picture Ive been coloring for several weeks now. Its a little past 11 a.m. on a Monday morning as I look around theres Maybe three or four other people in this whole coffee shop and its a good size coffee shop
Location is great but the coffee is weak. Espresso seems to be their weak spot as it lacks body all around, but even the regular coffee is a bit wanting. Could be that theyre not using enough beans.
It is a very cultural place (sometimes they have events like poetry) and it is a big coffee shop to have a cozy study evening. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because some of the staff arent friendly not to generalize the entire team I do have my good experiences :)On the picture I have matcha frappe.
I’ve recently been trying many coffee places around Salt Lake and this may be my favorite. The drinks are reasonably priced and taste really good, the atmosphere is very cool, good for any occasion like a date or meet up or doing work. It’s my new go-to spot and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Coffee and ambience are solid. Wifi is not good.
Very good fruit smoothie, customer centered service could use improvement. Variety of couches, tables and outdoor seating .
My first time getting an item from there I was treated by a dear friend and the moca drink was awsome. I didnt actually go inside until last night for only the wifi and the person working which was a female treated me with nothing but kindness and I will start making that place a priority!
Good coffee my grandson likes to go there
What an awesome coffee shop! So glad to have a sippin spot on our side of the tracks. The man running the show is by himself and making sure we’re good.Great atmosphere to kick it.
Horchata was okay but service was poor. Employee barely spoke and it felt like he was doing me a favor taking my order and making my coffee drink. With all the great coffee spots in SLC this one wont get my business.
Went there looking for a new, fresh experience and I was not disappointed. They had an art gallery showing which was breath-taking, the interior was well decorated, and the coffee was amazing!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good coffee
Got an espresso and a coffee. The espresso I got was a little long but not bad by any means. The coffee is pretty average, not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly not the worst. I’d go here over Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts any day of the week though.
Had the Mad Delight, which is a white mocha/chai. Really good, definitely on thr sweet side, great autumnal treat.
I like the art space and home feeling you get when you walk in. The coffee is pretty good the tea is better.
I love this place they have the best coffee and tea!!! And the staff is always friendly.
Good coffee and atmosphere, no refill price.
Excellent coffee. Great atmosphere. Some unique brews.
Love the rotating art and relaxing space.
Drinks where good, but gitrl working there needs some attitude adjusting for sure. she was just raunchy especially to the men in our group. too edgy for us I suppose.
Great coffee and the jalepeno bacon cheddar biscuit is rad!
A unique atmosphere and a great coffee. One of my favorites
Fun atmosphere, great staff, and awesome coffee. I love the art they always have on display, and they do a great job of bringing together the local community. Really nice, cozy place for meetings or dates. Never too crowded, and always a good time.
Great coffee and food and service is quick!
A great place to get a cup to drink and a little snack with plenty of room to study or lounge. Loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff.
Cute little coffee shop! Coffee is good, love the variety on their menu, lots of cool art and gallery, friendly staff and nice chill spot. Always plenty of room to sit and not overly crowded.
I visit this place whenever I fly in to SLC. Very good espresso, drinks and atmosphere.
Nice quiet little place. I like how the customer area is a bunch of separate little rooms, so its not so loud.
I was the only person in the store, around 1pm middle of the day, and the girl took 20 minutes to make my coffee with no explanation of the delay, heads up, or even “sorry for the wait”. Poor, poor service for average quality.
This place has one of the best variety of pizza with an absolute soft base. I just love visiting this place whenever I am in a mood of having a pizza and this place never dis satisfies me.
Love the employees and drinks. The employees have personality and dont just come off as baristas pumping out coffee, but people who make good food and drinks and have fun doing it. Theyre a lot of fun to talk to and make it worth driving 4 miles from my house to grab a drink. Also, they have an awesome art gallery, and Ive found some really cool local artists through Mestizo.
