Drove by today and wasnt super impressed by what I saw honestly. It looks a little incomplete like theyre still building it. Kinda a not so great area as well. Harley park is behind it which is a lot nicer. Its a work in progress so maybe in a few years it will be something different. Not the worst Ive seen though for sure.
I love whats new with the pond and walk ways they did there! Its amazing and a fun place to go.
Its a beautiful park for familys. Kids can play and there is a walk way all around the lake so people can exercise
Love it. The park is clean and beautiful with the pond and dog park. Love the whole landscape
City Show Piece. Beautiful place to walk. Well cared for.
Enjoyed getting some exercise on the tennis court which thankfully are being resurfaced now.
Very different from 20 years ago which is the last time I was here. It is undergoing some renovations and will be quite lovely once complete.
Lake recently drained and redone. Look nice.
This is a safe and Clean area for young children to play.
Lake has been redone and love the new piers.
Love it... so amazing
It is totally different from when I was young. Hopefully when they get pond and things looking good again it will be better. Kids were having fun down towards play area though.
Love the park but I do miss old days when it was prettier and cleaner. I always pick up trash left by humans...my 6yr old plays and we run into discarded clothing or someone getting high in the woods. Also today my 6yr old had to compete with several older girls (maybe 14 to 16 yrs old) who decided to hang out literally on the sliding board area. This is where my young one spends most of his time but they ended that. There were other kids there and a sign stating proper ages for that area but these girls didnt care...thats not the parks fault though...just people today. (Pics arent clear but girls are there.)
Needs some upkeep, otherwise a nice but small park. Not much to do. Its nice for small children and it does have tennis courts and walking paths but not much else.
Use to live near it visited a few times my daughter loved it.
Great experience.
Great place to visit. They are doing some construction on the lake but still great park.
Nice little park like all the others in Salisbury. However, the tennis courts need to be maintained and repaired ie: huge cracks.
Great place to take the kids! It will be even better when renovations are done
This place is completely trashed. The city does absolutely nothing to keep this place even remotely clean. I have gone there on multiple occasions to clean up the trash (most days would average anywhere from 40 to 80lbs of trash out of the pond area alone) and then I would come back a few days later to the place totally trashed again. The pond is so over run with algae and plants that fishing is basically out of the question and also because of the pollution in the water I have found multiple dead animals in the water ranging from fish, birds and even a duck and an otter. Despite the pollution unknowing people eat the fish out of this place. Something needs to be done, this place makes Salisbury look worse then it already does. Also, the Canada geese are severely over populated. They walk in the road in front of the park and don’t move for almost anything making the people honk at them constantly, they poop everywhere, and even attack people.
Very nice: Clean, quiet, good vegetation cover. Peace Haven gazebo is a great place to have family gatherings.
I grew up coming to this park. Festivals and tennis, walks and frisbee. Today was the first time back in maybe 5 years. The lake is stagnant now, no water pumping to keep bacteria and mold down. There are still duck that live there. The city asks for you to clean up your dogs waste (if needed) they have the bag dispensers, but no bags. I take my own when I walk my dog. I noticed trash in the stream and on the banks. The water fountain works, I only know because I had to see if there was running water because its there. I do not use public water fountains. The grass was cut and playground still looked good for people with children. The tennis courts looked ok. Overall, the park needs some cleaning and bring back the lake regulator. Recently, I signed up to be on our action teams here in Salisbury because I purchased a home in the Historic District, which happens to be up the street from the park. This is one subject I will bring up at the first meeting I will attend. It may sound minor, but the park is beautiful, and there are USA Military Memorials with flags flying of all our Armed Forces branches. This is a place Salisbury took to heart. We need to keep it that way. Volunteers are always welcome (per website City of Salisbury) as I signed up for Action Teams. My dog and I both enjoyed the walk, but we do need to bring the park up a notch.
They still working on the lake..but its kept very clean.
Had a great time with the grand kids has a stream and a pond ducks playground for small children and a tennis court
A nice place to take walk.
No longer looks attractive like it used to...the water is gone the ducks are living in bad waters
Nice place to bring your whole family whether to fish in the stocked pond catch and release very friendly Ducks as well as geese then the trails for a quick bit of walking running or just come to relax or to play a game or two of tennis watch out with the little ones though because where there is lots of ducks and geese there is lots of duck and geese poop
A lot of memories from my child hood. Use to feed the ducks, ride the little train around the tracks. ( thought it was so cool ), played on the play ground, met other kids.. made friends for the day, just had a great time there. My parents and grandma ( at times ) would bring a picnic lunch or grill hot dogs and hamburgers, we would eat, help clean up the area and then when my parents gave us permission to go play, away we would run back to the play ground. I would also fish. Then as a teenager. I would meet friends here and we would throe frisbees or fish.Wow what memories!!! Then when we moved back here ( My husband was Army ) I brought our son to this park..things sure had changedNo more train, of course the play ground had changed. Tony and I would feed the ducks, then he would go play with other kids until he was tired, then we would go back home. We spent a few hours here.I also took some classes here in the buildingNow.. 2019.. not much to here for the kids.. what a shame!!
Very nice, clean park with playground, walking trails, tennis courts and a pond with geese you can feed. Food provided in candy dispensers, with picnic areas and benches. Well maintained and clean.
Look to one end of the park and you see the country club but look the other way and you see the rim of hell. Have never felt very safe being on the property.
I lived 3 blocks from here through middle and high school I could always find myself with friends there in my memories now I make memories with my kids part nostalgia part love
So much fun - feed ducks -play all free
This place is very nice and inspiring.
City park reminds me of good ole school days..hangin after class let out...
Great city park. Open field, small creeck, kids playground and picknic tables. Loved it.
Nice and serene. Pleasant place, but not a whole lot of attraction. Just a few trees a pond or two, and a bunch of ducks... Nice for a little alone time or a slow walk.
Do they have basket ball courts?
Lake has been drained, no landscaping around the lake, sad to see the place looking so.
The pond is nasty looking and hoarding what I think are mosquitos. The city has a plan to fix it up.
Great place to bring a grandkid.
Great place for kids to play and feed ducks. Adults can play tennis too. Nice pond. Quiet.
Swings & monkeybars for kids to play on. A nice large lake to fish in. You can also grill out for you & your family.
In sad disrepair right now, the pond has been overtaken by a bacteria. Not much to look at overall. Needs a landscaper to plant flowers and what not
Kids always have a great time! They feed the ducks and now we dont have to bring bread or anything they have a thing that u put in some change and it gives u the food. But the ducks know what your getting when you go to it and they are right there waiting! Its awesome
Has good sized grass areas, tennis courts, play ground, lake, walking trails, adjacent to the Hurley park
Nice area to hang out in. Free outside movies in the summer. Tennis courts, play areas for the kids. Ducks by the lake. A nice walking park.
My granddaughter loved it.
Nice people plus a great atmosphere
This is the most disgusting park I ever been to. Its basically a toilet for the local ducks and peoples dogs.
Nice park close ... to take a walk threw and to enjoy feeding the Ducks as me and my husband do
Dredging of the pond. 2020
Its a nice place ro take thr kids when its sunny and nice out. I just wish people would clean up after themselves or the recreation custodians came more often because sometimes it looks a bit tragic. Im glad they have a feeding station for the ducks because people usually arent aware that our food/bread isnt good for them but still gives a way to interact with them. The geese on the other hand are a little tempermental but as long as you keep ypur distance its fine. All in all during the summer its a nice place to go for a picnic and let the kids romp around.
Monuments to all branches of service, restrooms, ducks,, picnic tables, tennis courts, play ground and a lake.
Peaceful. Great place to relax and feed the ducks and geese.
The dummies tell you not to feed the ducks and geese because they eat too much turf. Yet they have a feeding station where you can purchase food for them.
Good play area and covered shelters
Quiet spot to sit down and reflect
My best friends reception was beautiful and awesome!!
Nice place for the kids I love the lake!
Huge park. Hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and great place to walk Fido.
Nice pond area with ducks and geese. Quarter machines available to purchase food to feed them. Playgrounds, walking trails, monuments, tennis courts etc. all add to the beauty of the park.
Great sites and quiet.
Was a peaceful experience, and beautiful scenery.
Its a great place if you play tennis, but to sit at the park next to that pond is nasty. Dead fish everywhere, this needs to be taken care of. And the smaller playground has been abandoned.
Very nice and courteous staff.
Its a good place for the whole family
Nice park for kids to play in.
Nice place for kids to play
I use to meet my kids there
Great park and recreation center!
Has potential to be really nice but needs better upkeep. Area around playground could use a real bathroom. Parents that smoke should have the decency to throw away empty cigarette packages. In fact, residents that throw trash on the ground should be ashamed of themselves. I moved here from Florida and am shocked at the sheer amount of garbage that gets thrown on the ground. I am not talkin about banana peels. Saw a used condom wrapper thrown down in the parking lot. Gross.
This park is pretty nice but could use a little updating.
Good place to go but they need to clean the pond
Under construction
Love the scenery and the pond.
This the place to be when you want to relax and let go and unwind and reconnect with mother nature and release all of your stress that life has place on your shoulders and heart mind body and soul
Great place to bring kids and enjoy outdoors !!
A peaceful place to relax
They are having movies at the park this weekend:))) should be fun [...]
This park needs a bigger and more modern day park area for the kids. Specifically from 1 yrs+. Park can also use more benches.
I love this park. Its quiet and peaceful. I will be returning.
We had a lot of fun.
Its time they add some new things and for gods sake clean the pond
Love this park!! Take my kids multiple times a week. Always clean and well managed.
Love the park.
This is cool Lil community park. The only issue I had was the geese and there droppings.
Good place for the kids and relaxing.
Not enough playground equipment for children and the pond was full of algae no ducks
We take our 2 year old here all the time and its always so fun, space to walk around, things to see, and the playground is cool, and not usually very busy. WARNING for this park though, the roads directly on the side of the park, (where the parking is), and the intersection are pretty dangerous, so watch the wee ones getting in snd out of the car. Speed limit is low but just about everyone flys through, pretty fast and pretty close. So just to be safe Id keep alert until your kids are down the hill. Otherwise, go nuts!
Really nice park, but the geese and ducks have made it very dirty in places.
A great Park the wonderful place to take the kids and they even have a duck feeding station which my kids absolutely loved
Quiet...what I needed!
The City Park is awesome. Getting together with friends and family, good clean FUN.
Great place for all ages to exercise and play different games. Great staff.
All the playground equipment has water at the bottom. The mulch was worn down to a hole that filled with water. They need to fill the holes
We needed a green space where our crawler grandson could stretch out from our car trip. Wonderful, delightful park and not far from our route.
