Great park, miles of well maintained trails! Some of the trails do have lots of roots (runners beware), and there are some low lying muddy spots after heavy rain, but otherwise really lovely.Lots of shady areas, little creeks and views of the marsh and river. Can be buggy. Several large open fields too. Dog friendly, but please leash your pup.
We were in town due to a family emergency. Our second day my husband searched for somewhere close by the hospital where he could take me. He found this park. It was so beautiful & historic, just what I needed to get some fresh air and put my thoughts in order. There was a perfect spot to sit by the water and just contemplate all that had happened prior. It was so serene & just breathtaking. There were trails you could walk that had multiple informational spots where you could read all about this beautiful parks history. My only wish is that I wouldve had more time to explore this beautiful historical place. If you get a chance it is definitely worth seeing.
Trails are beautiful and pet friendly. You can pick which trail you have time for based on the map, cannot wait to visit again.
Awesome park! We didnt get there when there were any your guides. But the trails which are in abundance are all nice and fun to walk. One if the best places weve explored to walk around. Great place for a day with the dog!!
Such a wonderful park for every age! It is a family favorite.
Such a beautiful trail, my only gripe is its a historical slave plantation.
This is a decent area to bring the kids swimming and for sports. The playground needs updating and some of the people hanging around shouldnt be...when I lived over nearby, the upkeep with the playground was much better. The staff at the pool and the staff for the sports programs are very professional and organized. I enjoyed taking my campers there.
Always a wonderful place to walk through nature. They have a series of trails that are all very beautiful! They also have a tour you can do through the house on the property. The women that do the tours have so much information and so many facts. This is a much loved place for myself.
A quiet getaway in Salisbury - it is perfect for a walk in the woods. Parking is ample, trails well marked, and the grounds are well taken care of. There are a few exhibits (reptiles, insects, etc.) in one if the buildings and is worth a visit, especially with children.
Excellent park. Beautiful wooded trails & waterfront views of the river. Family friendly.
Definitely have bug spray nice family trail
Its beautiful but bring bug spray
Great location for a walk on nature rails, a picnic, or fishing.
We come here a few times a year. The trails are wonderful, and a lot of great photo opportunities. We also love to come here for the Beer & Wine festival. Well maintained.
Nice park. Scenic views
Free. Great trails. Very clean. Be careful where you step... Lots of tree roots. Hard on a stroller. Some areas have planks to walk on, other areas are rock, and other trails are sand and grass. Be aware that some people bring dogs here, which are supposed to be leashed. Also, after heavy rains and large events, the road going into the park can be riddled with numerous potholes. Drive slowly through (its best to drive slowly, anyway!)
I officiated at a wedding here recently, but have been here countless times. Its such a jewel for our area. The woods are great for nature hikes (be sure to wear mosquito and tick repellent), the river is full of fish, frogs, and turtles. The historical buildings are full of interesting lore as well. The grounds are used for wine and beer festivals in the fall, and in the summer, there are plays.
Nice place to have a walk with a family member or friends but there were street dogs in some area that were quite aggressive.
Loved this place for years. Our area needs more nature exploration areas like this!
Great place
Great place for walking with family but some trails had trash on it
Beautiful historic park. Lots and lots of acres and trails to walk. Park sits right on the wicomico river. Dont come here expecting a playground for the kids. It isnt that type of park. Its great for picnics and playing catch.
The historic tour was interesting, Mary was an awesome guide. She opened a window into the past. And it was a lovely walk through the trails.
Nice with a few different trails, mostly flat ground and near the river
Nice place to walk with the dog
Was good when they had the old time festival other than that a place to drink at aka a bar. All they have is beer or wine parties.
It was nice but its the 2nd time we got mixed up on the one trail. It wouldnt have been a problem but when you only have a certain amount of time because you have to go to work, then its a problem. Wish it could be marked better.
The bathrooms are working again! Would be nice if there was a map app that showed all the trails and your current position. The You Are Here static maps around the park are confusing due to their orientation not matching the positioning of the reader.
My family enjoyed our day here. It would be nice if there was a little more to do but definitely cant beat free family fun. Bathrooms would be nice :)
Nice park to walk
Beautiful park with trails. Ample parking and restrooms available
Great place to take the kids to walk trails.
Beerfest always gets 5 stars from me
Very poorly placed PokéStop for Pokémon GO.
Excellent walking trails, great family fun! An excellent opportunity to learn and explore nature
Wide clear hiking paths, bugs were not bad. Bring fishing gear for catch and release.
Awesome place for a relaxing walk/jog, very nice selection of trails to take, very nice place, trails seem well maintained.
Great place to spend time with the family but some area were full of trash scattered on the ground.
Nice park with plenty of trails and very peaceful.
This is a wonderful little park. There are quite a few trails to walk on. Some of them take you right to the river. It is also a nice little spot to have a picknik. If you stop by make sure you take your trash to preserve this places beauty. We will be stopping here now and then for the rest of our lives.........................................................................................................
We love Pemberton! We just went to take our family fall pictures. Its a beautiful park with great trails!
We enjoy the various festivals that happen at the park each year. They also have a lot of wonderful walking trails that our dogs have loved exploring.
So peaceful and relaxing. Nice place to walk slow and enjoy
Good time good place!
Beautiful location for any event.
Great place to hike but I had no clue it existed for 3 years. Could use more publicity. I havent attended any events there yet, but look forward to it
Lovely wooded trail especially nice on a crisp fall day. Some views of wetlands. Nice trail for walking and for our dog.
One of the best parks in Salisbury. Many great walking trails to take advantage of. Each one is distinct in its vistas and style. The setting is very quiet and safe. There are benches to have a picnic on if you like.Hardly ever crowded. One of my favorite places on the shore.
This is a beautiful place for a picnic with the family. So many trails you can walk as well. I really like this park because Ive never been and seen it crowded.
Nice place to wonder around and explore leard
Beautiful, small park. Lots of well kept trails.
Great park for enjoying nature and seeing wildlife. Shaded walking paths and well maintained trails
Great park that goes along the Wicomico river. Lots of nature, not too crowded, and has multiple docks to view the water. Property has a historical side to it too. Only complaint is that I wish it was a little bigger since the main trail loop is only about a mile and a half long.
Had a great time exploring the wood trails with the kids. Peace and quiet. Great for walks.
Beautiful park for a nature walk but on this visit I was there for the food beer festival which was also great.
Beautiful. But outdoors. So expect bugs. Biting bugs on beautiful days. Be prepared.
Great nature trails, beautiful picture spot and great place to take kids fishing!
Great little park with long enough trails to have some good hiking. Not the best park in general but for this area, it is great!
Decent hike, few opportunities for photos, a few observation decks, well marked, generally easy trail.
Not many trails in ol Salisbury, but at least weve got gorgeous Pemberton. Ample parking. Bathrooms with actual soap and water. Picnicking/fishing/dog walking/hiking/trail running are common. Festivals. Annual free Shakespeare (thank you, Brown Box!). Halloween and Easter activities. Animals a-plenty. We saw a box turtle laying eggs when we last came for a leisurely walk! Wild kingdom, right here. ;-)
A great place for a hike in the woods and right on the water. Very cool place
Great place to walk the dog. Ample trails though out the park. Unfortunately they dont allow bike riding on the trails. Otherwise would have scored higher.
Absolutely amazing park
Nice little escape about 5-10 minutes from downtown Salisbury. There are a couple paths great for trail runs and nature walks. Each time I have been there have only been a few other people so it is possible to find a sense of seclusion without the far drive. Perfect spot for photo students, truly a hidden gem!
My happy please. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Good fishing. Good walking/hiking. Even some equestrian trails. Historical buildings to explore. Very fun. I bring my dogs as often as I can.
Wonderful guide with lots of knowledge at the Pemberton mansion, we learned so much about life in the very early settlement days. Love to walk out to bell Island, which really isnt an island, its a look-out spot over the river, but we saw so many fish jumping up to catch their dinner! Grandkids loved it. Sometimes the water is clear enough to fish off the little island near the picnic tables. It has its own picnic table and the kids like the feel of fishing on their own private island...lots of turtles in the water! Quiet spot, we love it.
Wonderful place to go for a pleasant run, with pets. Also a great place to take pictures and ride your horse on the trails!
The buildings were locked. Middle is the day on a Friday.
Great way to spend an afternoon. Open from sunrise to sunset with no admission fees for just walking around, although special events may require admission. Plenty of nature trails, dog and horse friendly, places to kayak, birdwatch, fish, etc. Very popular among photographers, both portrait and nature. Clean if older indoor bathrooms. Grills and picnic tables, plenty of open space. You absolutely cant go wrong. I took the Bell Island Trail and the Wetlands Trail on my most recent visit, sauntered for about two hours. It probably gets pretty buggy in the warm weather so be sure to protect yourself. Also, while you dont need hiking boots, the trails can be a little treacherous with roots and mud so wear somewhat appropriate shoes.
Always wonderful.
Great place for a walk.. Perfect to bring your dog. Beautiful views !!
Love to come on hikes and walk around the beautiful area... Love to walk my daughters dog around
Love this park! Beautiful and serene, with miles of walking trails
Had a great time camping with the cub scouts, and Ranger Bob was was a great guide.
Pemberton park is a great place to walk the trails, jog, or picnic by the pond, very nice
Great park. Great trails. Historic home to visit when open. Good bath rooms.
Went there for the beer fest. Friday was slow because of the rain but Saturday was much better.
Beautiful, well kept historic site and trails.
Great park with multiple trails to walk. Wine festival and beer festival held there annually are great!
Very nice little park.
A great place to take your dog for a walk and enjoy nature.
Awesome place to walk some trails, great time at the Good Beer Festival
Very pretty trails to walk your dog!
Great trails!
Great place to fish
Serene. Lots of history. Great for dog walking, pictures.
Amazing park to walk through. Between the landscape, wildlife, and historical buildings this place will appeal to many different interest.
