Their popcorn used to have a self-serve feature, man Id be really disappointed if they understandably removed it for covid-19 restrictions but thats how life is these days.Heres a five star for all the good times! May they come again tomorrow~

Love the movie theater . Love the snacks, arcade, and movies they offer for great prices. What ticks me off is the seats in the theater rooms. When I go to my seat, I feel crumbs of popcorn and it goes on clothing when I leave. Next time guys, please spend more time on cleaning the rooms

Maya is great, best in Salinas. Only gave 4 stars due to the hideous, well sorta hideous lobby: 30 ceilings, not so intimate, probably a design oversight.But its good because you can WALK around after your show, its in Old Town and theres lots window shopping along there worth going in to. I hate a multi complex in a big parking lot, movies are romantic, exciting, thought provoking, etc. Its nice to not just have a parking lot and traffic to look forward to. After a film at Maya, stroll is at hand as I mentioned, theres even several; new places, craft brew, a coffee house w/ music sometimes, a great bookstore, lots of stuff

This is actually a pretty good Cinema, but its always mostly lonely. People dont really come to this Cinema.

We love going to this theater. The seats are great, and the staff is always friendly. There is also convenient parking.

Well me and my friends came here and everything was great, comfortable seats, food taste good. I enjoyed being here.

I bought my ticket on selected my seat . But my seat was missing took 20min to figure out. Nachos cheese was could as my water. Then I peeped the what look like a sup having a high level conversation with an employee that should have been in the office . Also no sign of any kind outside theater door to tell you what move it is. What around the whole complex look for 14. Bottom line you need some help Maya

Great theater. I prefer recliner seating and they have it in some of the rooms, but check first if thats what u want, cause it is regular stadium seating in other rooms. Nice folks, good concession and friendly experience.

My new favorite theater, great seating, good popcorn and an add your own butter station. Also theres a convenient parking garage and they validate.

Always a good experience visiting Maya, and the wonderful staff. Tuesdays especially. With what I save, I get more popcorn, and sodas. I have a lot of kids, so many, many more experiences to come. From action, comedies, drama, and thrillers, they have it all. Get out of the house for a while.

Great place to see a movie.Last movie I saw was John Wick 3.Amazing screen and sound.Cant wait to see more movies soon!Only complaint are the long lines for food or drinks, but that isnt the businesss fault.So 5 stars!

Went to the movies with my family and was pleasantly surprised of the experience. Its been awhile since I went to the movies and found the seating to be comfortable and arranged in such a way that there was no visibly issues. Would give it five stars if the concession prices werent so outrageous.

Consession line was quick. Portion sizes were HUGE! Seats are very comfortable recliners.

Convenient location close to restaurants and bars. Biggest screens in Monterey county. Viewing rooms clean and well ventilated. Recliner seats are very comfortable, clean and spacious. Sound system is clear and loud.

Good place to watch a movie. No problem. And the prices were perfect!.

You can really enjoy movies now with the great reclining chairs. Super cozy and relaxing. Best popcorn too!!

Bought tickets online a day before, come to the theater day of and people had also purchased the same seats at the box office. Went to speak to an employee and said that their website was having issues, yet had to give the seats to the people who had bought them after we did. Lady helping us ( heavy purple eyeshadow) didn’t even apologize. Please Maya fix your website. Never again coming here.

The cinema is nice and comfortable with the lounge chair seating. Just dont like the idea that you have to butter your own popcorn. If you have a large popcorn, it is hard to butter up the whole container of popcorn. It should be buttered as the container is filled by the counter person.

The person that checks your tickets was extremely rude he made me and my group of friends throw our starbucks away, he wouldn’t let us in... We always walk in with waters or outside drinks and no one tells us anything not even the staff.... I felt very bothered by the attitude offered, maybe change the ticket person to someone younger and nicer.... other than that my Movie experienced was alright!

Love this place, It has a reclining seats and lots of leg room. Most importantly, every Tuesday, they offer Family Day @ $5.50 and Wednesdays Senior Day @ $4.50. I live in Marina which is twenty minutes drive. Love to petronize companies that are willing to help families that are not always able to afford things like this.

Went here to see Annabelle comes home. First they started playing the wrong movie ( chucky). Then finally plays the right movie. Then the movies cuts off before it ends. So we miss the ending. Floors need to be cleaned more. Very dirty. Great deals here. Next time I went great experience with the movie we saw. But still floors dirty. Just needs to be cared for more. But overall I would reccomend.

I must say that the changes made to this theatre are great! The theatre itself seems cleaner than when I used to visit it when in town for holidays with family couple years ago. The restrooms are almost always clean and stocked. The snack lines move pretty fast. The seats are great and their customer service is usually pretty good. That downtown area is looking better and better each year.

My son came to watch a movie. they did not let him in and did not want to refund his money. COME ON. Manager Winsen knew about it and saw the ticket. By then, my son went back home and threw away the ticket. and not he pretends there is no ticket and did not want to do a refund. I need to talk to the owner or anyone with real customers service.

I really love this place! I only have it four stars as several of their theatres have distracting issues with their screen. I.e stained or dirty and curtain ropes hanging down in front of them etc. Their seats are comfy, prices great and most staff is friendly. We go here almost every week on Tuesday 5.50 night.

Never a bad time. Never a bad price. This place is pretty much the best theater in town from the self serve butter to the healthy portions of drink sizes. Great for date night, guys night girls night or kids night theres something for everyone at The Maya

I like the place, the seats are very comfortable and even private since each row is divided by a wall, I frequent it for that, and because the staff that attends inside the cinema is very attentive. The popcorn is freshly made and that is also a plus.

I love many things about this theatre! Great prices, they support local college students via Scholarships, and they promote film artists that are not well known

First off the food is great, the place is nice and clean there’s always employees cleaning. The only down side is the manager. She was so rude not only to me but to other customers who also complained, she is also very rude to her own employees for not “moving fast enough” even though they are doing their best to keep up with all the customers and provide great service. They were all super nice and helpful and always have a smile in their face. Another downside is the arcade although it’s a movie theater and they are not expected to have a nice arcade I was still expecting a bit more since the other movie theater had a really nice arcade. I would highly recommend you come here!

Good theater, reserve seating is nice, has Atmos, and MPX sound options, free parking in the parking structure nearby, good array of snacks. the movie kiosk outside and in front of each theater hasnt worked for probably a year, which is minor but annoying. And last night when watching Ford vs Ferrari in MPX I found myself plugging my ears on several occasions, I like loud movies but this was rediculous.

I remember going to see movies here a lot back in my tween years, eventually started going elsewhere out of convenience so this was the first time Id been in a few years. Was pleasantly surprised to see the layout was pretty much the same and that they had installed leather recliners in most if not all of the auditoriums (my feet didnt dangle off the end like at most theaters). The concession stand has been the same since I went there last time which isnt a problem but compared to other local options is a bit lackluster, the optional tapatio for popcorn/hot dogs is well appreciated. Overall a pleasant experience.

My granddaughter and I watched Pikachu Detective. I dont understand the Pokemon, with this movie I understand a bit more.Very clean theater, not too busy.Only thing I didnt care for was, while we were in line to buy popcorn and a drink, the 2 boys in front of us, were pushing each other and spilling popcorn on the floor. They saw what they did and walked away laughing.

Seats are great bit they dont really offer much for a diabetic, no kettle popcorn, butterles popxorn or ice tea.

The room was good so was the sound quality and screen quality.

Reclining seats, clean environment, half off Tuesdays, locally owned. What more could you want?

Lovely staff... They stamp your parking ticket to get reduced parking fees.. You have to park inside parking garage though..as there is hardly ever parking in front.. And they have great rewards for frequent customers..

When this theater opened it was the better option in Salinas. But recently I feel like the theater is getting worse. The times Ive gone they only have the one concession stand open even though they have 2, one in the front and near the back. The cleanliness was bad. There was food and straw wrappers on the counter. Concession options here are very limited compared to the Cinemark at Northridge Mall. The counter space where the condiments are is very limited, there was someone who put there food there while they waited for someone else, so getting around them to get condiments for my hot dog was awkward because they didnt wanna move their food. The recliner seats used to be a big plus but the Cinemark theater at the Northridge Mall has better seats and they have little tables which is great for little kids. The parking here has always been an issue, even though they validate your parking its not in the nicest area. I used to like this theater but recently I prefer the one at Northridge.

Maya cinnamas is outstanding.the service is wonderful and the experiences my friends and family have shared over the years magical and everlasting.

Wow have they upgraded This theater is one of the best ones in the Salinas area, it has a lot of great features, and they offer a lot of great content including new movies. Always clean and super neat. Great customer service. My experience here was amazing, I felt super comfortable watching movies here, for almost a whole day. I guess parking space might be a problem but you can use the parking garage towards the corner at such a low price as well. Enjoy!

Maya theater in old town salinas.Parking garage and validation available. Parking outside on Main st aswell. Tuesday matinee and some days discount hotdogsTuesday matinee is $5.50 per ticket. Food is pricey $$$$. On a regular day the tickets run up to $10.50. Great selection of Movies for the entire family. Alternative eats around. Three theater if you do not b wish to eat inside. If you do there is a great dining area.The staff usually work fast so the waiting time is not as long as other theaters i visited. There is Ann option off purchasing your tickets online n through Fandango and slipping the line. If you do purchase your tickets online there are 2 kiosk inside that with a quick swipe of your debit card ( not sure about credit) your tickets will print out.Video game area with a few games, pacman and an air hockey table to name some. Not a big selection of arcade games to brag about.Popcorn, nachos, hotdogs just to nane a few of the plenty of variety of food available. Drink from fountain drinks, bottles, slushies and teas. $$$$. Plenty of alternatives outside around the theater.The theater implemented a numbered seating chart. System which you are able to choose what seats you want. Seats are comfortable and big with cup holder. Seats can recline. Low ambient lighting.2 concession area available but usually only 1 is open. Big rooms and medium rooms with great surround sound. Although during the previews watch for your children as the sound level is a bit high possibly starting young children.Clean, safe, some what expensive. Get there at least 30 min early if you plan to hit the concession stand, and 20 min early if your going straight to your showing.I choose to come to this theater due to the caipability of being able to choose yor own seating. Maya a great place for a movie.

Loves it!!! So beautiful and spacious.... My first time there to watch Bohemian Rhapsody and it was amazing the sound was great! And If you park at the back parking lot and go to the Cinema take ur ticket and get it stamped so the Cinema pays for the first 3 hours...

I like Maya. It’s clean, cozy, etc. not happy to buy tickets ahead and have to pay a service fee of $4.00 for 4 tickets

This is a cute Cinema experience. Very clean, accessible and quaint. Nestled in the boutiques of downtown Salinas. This is a delightful experience if you have not gone. They show a lot of the mainstream films and cycle through them to keep everything current. Friendly Associates, and an overall good time!

For the Sunday good seats I lucked out not a lot of people movie was good

Theater was great, clean with very comfortable seating. Would have been a 5 except that in the top row the rail was so high that it cut off the lower part of the screen for my kids. Even as an average height adult, if you reclined in the chair the rail was too high. Be aware when choosing your seat!

Was very pleasantly surprised with my experience at this theater. I was here in Salinas on business and didnt want to fight the traffic back at the end of the day. My wife and I had a great thai dinner in walking distance and found this location very clean, convenient and The reclining seats were awesome! The sound and picture quality were great too. I believe that this theater is locally owned which is a plus.

No complaints I only like coming to the Maya Cinema the seats are great they recline and are comfortable all seats are numbered and now they have you pick your seats when you pay for ticket/tickets something new (6 months) not bad though for me better that way

The Dolby Digital sound was way too loud for my hearing. I received a refund. Next time Ill use ear plugs.

Very comfortable, popcorn is fluffy. Friend with us asked if we saw the white 8 inch mouse running around under the seats??? Thankfully seats recline and feet well off the floor. I suppose all that spilled popcorn provides a feast for resident rodents.

Very comfortable seats. The assignments of seats seems weird. Very happy they turned down the sound volume, I didnt have to turn my hearing aides off and made for a more enjoyable experience.

RAT INFESTED!!!! Im posting cause its dirty to have rats in your building especially with food. I HIGHLY recommend that you dont eat any popcorn or any unwrapped foods here. Those rats can climb all over and inside the popcorn machine and leave RAT poop, which can get u or your child sick. My family and I came in to watch The Lion King and sat towards the back. Next to the stair way is where we seen one RAT run by then a couple minutes later 2 more ran by.... I couldnt believe what I seen. I always thought Maya was the best theater in town...but since the manager didnt care about the situation made us realize its been a continued problem or that its not going to be fixed.. So I let all my family and friends know not to attend Maya again. Well be taking our movie watching habits to the clean and rat free theater, Century theaters.. Today just blew my mind that Maya thought it was ok. Smh.. Very sad and scary for peoples health.

Maya Theater is clean and provides a comfortable temperature. We absolutely love the large fully reclining chairs with plenty of elbow room and cup holder. Parking is conveniently located and validated at the theater.We love this theater and attend it with friends regularly.
